My iPhone V will not connect to a Microsoft Exchange server. It says that the User Name or Password are incorrect even though they're not and I can log on directly to Exchange with the same parameters using the web browser.
I bought the phone when it came out last October. The connection did not work at first, then started without warning in December. It worked perfectly for 2 months then stopped again when IOS 6.1.2 was Installed.
    Help please!

I have forwarded these questions about the version of Exchange server that is being used and whether Microsoft host the mai themselves to the IT Dept but I will not get a reply from them until tomorrow.
In the meantime I have also tried:
Deleting and re-creating the account AGAIN!
And re-setting the phone (recommended as a solution to a similar problem with an iPad in another forum.
    But please remember that:
The phone would not connect for 2 months after I bought it
Then started working unexpectedly in December
Then stopped working again when IOS 6.1.2. was installed
Also why am I the only person affected by this when colleagues with iPhone 3s and 4s who use the same mail system are not (I am still trying to find one with an iPhone V to see if their's works).
Like I said I think that there must be a fault, either with my own phone or with iPhone Vs in general.

May I know the reason why the server keep looking for the non-exist server and how to terminate this process?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
It seems that error message occurs on the same machine with the previous Exchange Server you have decommissioned. Have you reinstall the Windows System after uninstall the Exchange
    Server?
You need to check the registry keys but this is not efficient solution. The most efficient way is to reinstall the Windows if it is convenient.

  • Unable to connect to the MS Exchange server after upgrading to ios 7.1.2

I received a new iPad 4 through work.  Upgraded to ios 7.1.2, but now I'm not able to connect to the Exchange server.  Contacted IT through work, they have no idea how to correct it.  They say all of my settings are fine.  The error message says "Cannot Get Mail   The connection to the server failed."  Any thoughts?

Appears to be a wifi connection problem. Did it work prior to the iOS update?
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Since it's a company wifi, you won't be able to do many of these.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Problem connecting outlook 2013 to exchange server

    Hello,
I recently bought a new windows laptop for emailing (our company is otherwise only using Mac).
Setting up Outlook with the intended email address failed, and at this point, when clicking Outlook, I get the following message:
"The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be be online or connected to complete this action."
The only option is to click "ok".
The following window is then opened:
    "Microsoft Exchange"
It has only one tab, containing:
"Microsoft Exchange server" window, in which I've entered the server address.
"Mailbox" window, in which I've entered the email address. There is a button called "Check Name".
If clicked, the following message shows up:
"The name can not be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
By clicking "ok" anyway, the following message appears:
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\xxxxxxxxxxx.ost is not an Outlook datafile (.ost)."
The problem seems to be that there is nothing I can do to change these messages. I have access to the correct server name, address etc.
    What to do?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Scout,
    Thank you for your question.
As Ronomatic said, we could clear the present profile and re-build profile by the following link:

The problem seems to be that there is nothing I can do to change these messages. I have access to the correct server name, address etc.
Notice: We will make sue the client could resolve the FQDN of Exchange server by
    Ping or Nslookup;
    Waiting your reply.

  • Can't connect to my work exchange server 2003

I am one of the only people in my office with a Mac and my IT dept. refuses to assist me. Therefore, I am forced to try to resolve issues myself (which is not working out).
I have successfully sent mail through the company's outgoing mail server, but I cannot connect to the incoming mail server to receive my messages.
On a side note: I have entourage 2004 running successfully with no problems other than the program is crippled compared to outlook on windows. I want to run Apple's Mail program but can't get working, and I'm sick of running Outlook through Parallels.
To configure Outlook and Entourage all I need to put in is the exchange server path (and login info) and it configures the rest. So how do I know what the outgoing and incoming paths are for Apple Mail? Are they the same? I right now I have both the incoming and the outgoing set up with the same exchange server paths hwmxmsg05.hotels.ad.**.com.
Any Ideas? Another post mentioned make sure certain things are configured on the server side? What would they be as I need to relay them to someone who knows.
    Thanks!!!
    24" iMac Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I feel your pain. I also am a lone Mac user in an entire building full of PC robots, and the IT people haven't got a clue.
I've been trying to get Mac mail working with the Exchange server here, but it's just not happening. I've managed to get Entourage working though, which is far from ideal but significantly better than the web-based version of Outlook that I'd been having to use up till now.
For entourage, then yes - the incoming and outgoing servers are the same. You may need to ask your recalcitrant IT people which port numbers to use, but give it a whirl anyway.
    Best of luck,
    Boris

  • Connecting Apple Mail to Exchange Server

I just bought a new IMac and have been trying to pop to my university email account. It is on an exchange server. I have successfully popped to this account using Outlook, my IPhone and other email programs, but when I try to set up Mail (version 2.1.1), it cannot connect at the point where it says "Checking connection to POP server"....it always bombs out with a mesage that says "The POP server xxxx is not responding"
Given that I'm able to connect with other Mac products (IPhone) as well as non Mac products, this seems like some probelem specific to the OS system. Any suggestions on how to connect would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Allen

I'm have an exchange account at a university which works ok. When setting up the account with the mail wizard, I choose exchange from the menu instead of POP. I've also read where users have chosen IMAP.
I'm not familiar with the iphone setup so I can't comment about why iphone POP would work with exchange server.
I know I had to use the university web site and follow their setup info for exchange server. They didn't have an apple version so I just applied what they suggested the best I could.

  • Connect to vpn through exchange server

looking for some tips for connecting a mac pro with OS X 10.6.8 to a vpn and via an exchange server, accessing email.  Help please.

    Anthony,
Thanks. A few answers for you...
What VPN Client are you using. Are you conneting
through a dial in or through a network protocol (like
    an ssh tunnel)?
I'm using Apple's "Internet Connect" to connect by PPTP. I connect from home via DSL.
Are you using the public or private ip address of the
    server for this ping?
If I understand right, private. I ping an address that a 192.168.0.x style address. Originally I couldn't ping the server until I changed the local address assigned by my DSL router (also 192.168.0.x). They were too similar.
"(When I try "Connect to Server..." and enter
smb://serveripaddress, a dialog box comes back with
the correct workgroup and my username, but when I
enter my password I get: "Could not connect to the
server because the name or password is not
    correct.")"
What happens if you use the dns name of your server
    for example:
    smb://servername.domain.office/ShareName?
I get an error (-36). The finder can not read some of the data in "smb://servername.domain.office/ShareName"
Oh,and you are putting the share name youre trying to
    connect to right?
Yes. I should have said "When I try "Connect to Server..." and enter smb://serveripaddress/Shared..."
    One more thing...
-I tried mapping the drive through VPN on a PC connected to the same DSL modem/router as the Mac and succeeded. At least I know, I think, that it is possible...
Thanks for the help! I'm out of answers or even guesses.

  • Do connections between Outlook and Exchange Server continue to sync without proper DNS?

    Hi there,
We were acquired by an other company that uses Office365.com, so we are moving accounts over from Intermedia, our existing provider, to your service. My question is this: If i point our MX records over to Office365, will we be able to work with the old calendar
and email items using the existing connection between Outlook and Intermedia Exchange? I understand that no new external mail will be delivered to the Intermedia accounts, but will we still have access to the existing items in the old mailbox as long as we
    have the Intermedia accounts?
My plan is to receive new mail at Office365.com while taking our time to copy over old emails from the Intermedia folder to Office 365 folders.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi,
According to your description, your accounts are moved from on-premise Exchange server to Exchange online server and you have the doubt about the availability of calendar and emails through the on-premise Exchange server.
However, since it’s related to Exchange online, to get more professional and quicker help, I recommend you post it on our Exchange online forum, as Ed said.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

  • Why is installation file for Exchange Server CU7 much smaller than SP1.iso?

I was wondering why is the ISO-Image for Exchange Server 2013 with SP1 4.5 GB in size and the CU7.EXE only 1.6 GB? I thought CU7 contains everything SP1 contains. Is it because one is a disk image and an other an executable?

The EXE is compressed.  When you extract it, it should be close to the same size (probably bigger) than the SP1 iso.

  • A user on our network has lost the ability to sync with microsoft Exchange. She updated to OS 4.3.5 on Monday, and this morning her sync stopped working, and I am no longer able to connect her to our Exchange server. Any available solutions?

I am running Windows Server 2003, and Exchange 2003. The user has had no previous problems with connections, until her OS update.

Same exact thing with me.  And no help from apple.  Just dropped nearly $600 and cannot get a decent working setup.
Apple's only suggestion was to uninstall iTunes and Quicktime, and re-install... of course (the I.T. Crowd tactic).
The crash happens only on iTunes store access.

We are using a self sighed security certificate.

If I delete it, choose add new cert, mailsrv.cer is listed, I touch "Install", there are some settings, like wi-fi, software writers, bla-bla, but no "Done" or "Save" button

    Hi,
According to your description, users cannot connect to Exchange server 2013 both internal and external.
Please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration in Outlook to check your autodiscover service. Also
reset your Exchange virtual directory to connect correctly. If the issue still continues after all configurations are setting properly, collect some Event logs would be helpful.
If there is any question, please post the results here for further analysis.

  • Problems connecting to exchange server

My ipad2 was connecting fine to the exchange server a few days ago, and now it has stopped. I have been through all of the discussions and tried everything outside of a hard reset.
Other iPhone & iPad users in my corp are having no issues connecting. I know the server, domain, username, and password are correct.
I am getting the "unable to verify account information" . Makes no sense why it just stopped?! I am so frustrated and nothing seems to be working.
    Please help!

    Hi,
For info. VPN Client 5.0.02.0090 has the following resolved issue stated in the readme-file:
    Resolved Issues:
CSCsh15103 Client using a Digital Cert cant connect thru a Cable/DSL router
It's the opposite of your problem but might be worth a try anyway?
Also, have you tried the usual MTU change to 1300. Outlook have problems if there are any MTU issues on the way.
