    Any help is highly appreciated!

but I can ping the server and ssh to the server from my laptop...certain ports can be opened through FireWall while all others remain closed.
Listener accepts initial connection request on Port #1521 & then completes request on random high port
use of Wire Shark or similar packet sniffer can answer the mystery

  • How to retrieve CRL information from a client computer

Is possible to retrieve CRL information from a client computer and how?
    Thanks.

CRL's do not normally live on workstations... normally these are hosted on servers. If you want to see what server are in the local revocation list then look at the certificates mmc snap-in and look at the revoked certificate list. If you want to test
a CRL for a certificate then export the certificate and run "Certutil -url"

    thanks,
so , now what is the benefit of hyper-v role on essential 2012r2 .  it that means that I can install only one operating system on it only one instance and no more. also I can run some applications on this server  just like you say with RDP licence

  • Connecting to Db from a client

    Hi All,
    am very new to Oracle.
I have a db server that is up and running.
I installed client on another pc.
After configuring the Client using the oracle net manger , I tried to test my connection, but it gave me the error message:
    ORA-12541: TNS: No listner.
I was able to test the connection from the server pc to the db, but cannot from the client.
I am using 10g and on win xp.
Your help will be highly appreciated.
NB: I checked the listner status in the DB and every thing seemed alright.
    thanks all

On your database server check if listener is running.
    lsnrctl status
On your PC client side double check if you got hostname and port entered correctly. compare with listener status output

    Harshad,
    CONNECT system/[email protected]
This was not what I asked you to try, this cannot work ;).
I asked you to try :
    connect system/[email protected]:1521/XE
I have also tried accessing the database homepage remotely using the url
    http://abo-server.abosoftware.org:8080/apex
Per default only local access (from the same machine) is allowed via http.
You can change that either via the GUI (log in as SYSTEM):
    Home>Administration>Manage HTTP Access
    OR
connect as SYSTEM via sqlplus and run:
    SQL>exec dbms_xdb.setListenerLocalAccess(false);###
    It is documented at
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25144/toc.htm#BABIJBHJ
And yes, you need to open both ports 1521 and 8080 to access it remotely.

  • Trouble connecting to and from my work computer & home computer

When I first bought my iPod Touch, I could easily not only connect it and sync/load songs etc. from my home computer, I noticed and real good feature in that I could connect it to my work MAC as well. I have an iPhone now and i noticed you can't do this. It asks you to sync the iPhone and all data will be lost if I choose to do so. When I connect it to my work computer all the fields are grayed out. This ***** if I can't go to and from from home t work with my new iPhone when I could so easily with my iPod Touch. Any feedback on this would be much appreciated.

Some info and a bit of detail about your network set up would be helpful. How are you connected to the internet? Cable modem? DSL? Is there a router involved? Are you connected via ethernet or airport?

If I understand you correctly you will input the encryption key via the linsys monitor software on your wireless computer.
open the linsys monitor on your computer
highlight the network name that you want to connect to
    click edit
and just follow the steps and input the info of which one will be the key

  • Trouble connecting to RDP from single client machine.

I have a Server 2012 machine running remote desktop services.  Users at our branch offices connect to it over the corporate VPN.
It has been running for over a year now with no significant issues, until this past Tuesday.
I have exactly one client machine that immediately disconnects upon connecting to the machine.  This does not generate very helpful error codes - On the server side, just a generic 4005 - The Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated.
All other client machines can connect to the server without issue, including other client machines in that branch office.  Furthermore, attempting to simply remote desktop into another 2012 server produces the same results on this machine, while remote
desktop to another windows 7 client machine seems to work just fine.
I have seen some similar problems mentioned, but they typically involve a server that consistently fails with all clients, whereas I have a single client machine that suddenly cannot RDP to Server 2012 machines.  Any ideas?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Have you check with other user account on that client machine?
Does ping response successfully to the server?
Firstly please try to run sfc /scannow, check performance for that system, check event viewer whether can find any particular error\event id. For more information you can refer below article.
Fix “The Windows Logon Process has Unexpectedly Terminated”
    Hope it helps!

  • I can't delete the .thumb.db file from a client computer

In my LAN I have a main computer, the server, that shares a folder. Other users of the LAN can access to the foler and copy, modify and delete files. However, many times when the user try to delete a folder get an error that says that the file thumb
can't be delete because the file explorer has opened the file. That's is not true.
The user has the needed permissions to delete the files, but for some reason he can't.
I know that one solution is to show icons instead of miniature in the file explorer, but it is not a solution in this case, because the user uses many photos and it's easier to see the miniatures instead of the icons.
How can I solve the problem and delete this file? Any easy and permanent solution? because this occurs in many folders and the user don't have a hugh knowledgement of windows.
    Thank so much.

    Hi,
We can disable the caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files via Group policy to fix this issue:
    1.Run gpedit.msc
    2.Navigate to:
       User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\File Explorer
3.Set “Turn off the caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files” to Enable.
4.You may need to log off or force group policy to update before this takes effect, I am not sure.
To force group policy to update, run gpupdate /force
Now you will need to clean the thumbs.db files that are already created. To do this we are gonna use the disk cleanup tool.
Press again Windows key + R to start run and write there cleanmgr then Enter。
This will start the Disk cleanup tool. Select the drive you want to clean , if you have more drives you gonna have to repeat this for each drive.
Disk cleanup tool will calculate for a bit what files can be deleted and then the following window will appear.
Make sure the Thumbnails is checked and press OK .  That is it. Now you can delete those folders you want to go away.

  • Take laptop & printer to client, need to print from client computer using my printer

I nstalled my HP Laserjet 1102w to my laptop with my ips address to work wireless.
I take my laptop & printer to client's location and need to print from their computers using my HP Laserjet 1102w.
I network in to their ips address using my laptop to.
Could not install my HP Laserjet 1102w on their computer & print from their computer.
How do i print from my HP Laserjet 1102w using their computers at their location?
    Thanks!

    Hi debitacct ,
    Thanks for clarifying that information.
You would have to restore the printer's defaults and reset up the printer on their network at the new location every time, to be able to print from the clients computer and you would have to connect to their network on your computer and add the printer back in again with the new IPv4 address.
Another way you could do this is through a USB connection or use the Wireless Direct.
You would have to enable the Wireless Direct on the printer through the printer's Embedded Web Server if you didn't select this feature during the installation. This will allow both computers to connect directly to the printer and print, but keep in mind you won't have internet access at the same time. So you can print when connected to the printer's network or connect back to the main network again to access the internet.
Here are the steps for enabling the Wireless Direct through the printer's Embedded Web Server if you decide to go this route. Print a configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address. Printing a Configuration Page.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
Then click on the Networking tab, select Wireless Direct Setup on the left side and check the Enable wireless direct printing.
I hope I explained that alright for you. The USB connection would most likely be the easiest way to go.
    Have a nice day!
