Connect to PowerPivot engine with c#

I am developing an addin for excel 2010 and i need to interact with powerpivot engine. Is that possible? Can i interact with powerpivot engine using AMO? How can i do that? I am trying with this
Server
svr = new
Server();
svr.Connect(
"Initial Catalog=Microsoft_SQLServer_AnalysisServices;Data Source=$Embedded$");
but, i have "data source must be specified..." error.
Thanks

Javier
Correct. Based on the article of Chris Webb I created the VBA routine as below to get an insight of what's available as information in PowerPivot. Like view DBSCHEMA_COLUMNS I use to retrieve the columns for each measuregroup and store it on a worksheet.
Than I can start commenting the meaning of the columns. Sometimes formulas are more complex (when you start with ranking tricks) and need some extra explanation. Currently there are not a lot of people who have much experience
with PowerPivot. This way we lower the barrier and help them to understand more easily the DAX functions and its power.
The problem with the DMV's I have are the missing formulas. This would be handy, now is copy and paste which is realy time consuming.
PS. I used the information of view MDSCHEMA_MEASURES to retrieve PowerPivot data from other workbooks.
The routine below creates for each DMV defined a worksheet.
Some views will return an error:
DISCOVER_DIMENSION_STAT - Application-defined or object-defined error
DISCOVER_INSTANCES - Application-defined or object-defined error
DISCOVER_LOCKS - Application-defined or object-defined error
DISCOVER_PARTITION_DIMENSION_STAT - Application-defined or object-defined error
DISCOVER_PARTITION_STAT - Application-defined or object-defined error
DISCOVER_PERFORMANCE_COUNTERS - Application-defined or object-defined error
MDSCHEMA_PROPERTIES - Cannot rename a sheet to the same name as another sheet, a referenced object library or a workbook referenced by Visual Basic.
MDSCHEMA_PROPERTIES - Select method of Range class failed

  • How to connect SAP XI engine with TIBCO EMS

    Hi,
how can I connect SAP XI 3.0 with TIBCO EMS?
If i'm going to use XI provider,  Do I need to deply any jar files into XI?
    Thanks in advance.

    HI,
At this moment I've deployed the TIBCO libraries into my XI and I've created an XI adapter in order to connect with TIBCO system as folows:
Transport protocol                                                  Access JMS Provider Generically
    JMS.queue ConnectionFactoryImpl.classname      com.tibco.tibjms.tibjmsQueueConnectionFactory
    JMS.QueueConnectionFactoryImpl.constructor     java.lang.String https://hostname:port
    JMS.QueueImpl.classname                                     com.tibco.tibjms.tibjmsQueue
    JMS.QueueImpl.constructor                                    java.lang.string TibcoQueueName
    SecuritySSLOn                                                       True
    SecurityKeyName                                                   Name
    JMS Settings
    JMS Queue User                                                    User
    JMS Queue  Password                                          UserPassword
I don't know where is the problem, but all the times I've obtained the same error:
MP: Exception caught with cause com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: No transition found from state: STARTING, on event: process_commence for DFA: JMS_TIBCO_ADAPTER

    HI Anulraja,
Your Adapter Engine searches the pipeline url of the integration engine from the SLD.
Check the Bussiness System in Sld , which you'll have defined for XI Server.
It should have ROLE : Integration Server And
    pipeline url: http://ux0800:55300/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
should be this if your http port is 55300.
Check if this url is right in SLD-Bussiness System.
You can check the exact http port in transaction sxmb_adm.
Go to Integration engine configuration and then click on check icon(F7).
It should match with that provided in the BS in SLD.
By default it should be 8000.
Check all these things and then try.

    Yomesh

Please help me understand what is going on with our EP installation and any experiences/guidance to bring life to EP6.0
    thank in advance.

    Paparaju -
    1. How are you starting the portal (i.e. go scripts or unixdaemon)?
    2. Is the R/3 startup service set to Manual?
If it is not, I'd recommend setting to manual and shutting down all portal processes before restarting.

Does anyone have experience using iPlanet 6.0 Servlet engine with
WebLogic 6.1 EJB engine? The two engines will be located on separate
physical servers. If so, any information on the implementation would
be greatly appreciated (lessons learned especially). Would the cost
difference between using WebLogic's Servlet engine vs. iPlanet's
Servlet Engine be worth the attempt? I saw in some previous posts
that there were issues with how older versions of Weblogic RMI (T3)
Protocol worked and that Weblogic would only have one socket
connection for the iPlanet Servlet Engine through which all requests
will be multiplexed. This would be a bottleneck for any application.
Is this still true with the latest versions of these products?
    Thanks,

Hello! I have a huge question about how can I get connected my iphone 4 with my car Is there any opption on find my car application? I have a Volvo xc60 and I want to be connected all the time with my iphone. Can I do that?

Hello. I can say that you have a quite strange „huge question”… It’s non-sense to stay connected with your car which is hundreds miles away. Unless…
I have a theory. You don’t want to controll your car, you want to controll somebody who is driving the car. Volvo XC 60 is a nice family car, usually used by married men between age of 35-45, probably with small children, so it’s very unlikely that you want to controll your teanage kid, mainly because probably even if you would give him/her to drive the car in the neighborhoud, I don’t think that he/she would be „several hundred miles away”…  If your child is not young teneage anymore, and he/she has his/her own life, but you want to control him/her, that is sick… So I am convinced that you want to controll your husband who probably travelling often! Am I wright?
Isnt’t nice at all! Would you like if you would be monitorized in such way? I bet you don’t!
Anyway, iPhone is smart, you can use for many things, but come on, you really were thinking that there is such kind of application???
What could you do it's to put in the car a GPS survelling system, however I don't think that you could do it without your husband knowledge, otherwise he won't be able to start the engine...

  • Problem connectivity of Web Dympro with SAP Netweaver

    Hi guys,
I've a problem connectivity of Web Dympro with SAP Netweaver
I installed Sap NW in a machine on the local network with IP 192.168.x.y, and I can connect to it without problems; I can use the portal and implement jobs in Visual Composer.
After installing Sap Developer Studio, I connected it successfully to the NW through the menu "Preferences->SAP j2EE engine" selecting the option "SAP J2EE is installed on remote hosts" and inserting IP address of the machine with NW (192.168.x.y) and port 3900.
Using these parameters the logon works, in fact I can see the tab "J2EE engine".
The problem is that when I try to make the deploy, Web Dynpro asks me the SDM password  (that I'm sure I've inserted correctly) but it returns the following error to me:
    Deployment aborted
    Settings

I want to add that  I use Win XP Prof, and I set the same credentials (user "Administrator" and the correct password) I used on the machine where SAP NW is installed.

    Hi Michele,
There were 2 cases I explained, and the second was the one in case your SDM was blocked. Did you try the first one?
Anyways, here is something more that you can try to get it working. In case the SDM password is valid, did you log into the portal as the Administrator? If yes, then you must have been asked to change the password. If you did change the password there, login to the remoteGUI using the Master password (abcd1234) and change the password there also to the same password you use for Administrator on the Portal. Now try again.
In case the above doesnt work, start the configtool.bat from \usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool and go to secure store. Here define the J2E passwords again (the same new password you gave for the Administrator in the portal), save and restart the server. I think it would work then
    Hope that helps you out!
    Bye,
    Sameer
P.S - the main thing is that the error you got was Authentication failure using the Administrator username. Thats why you have to make sure that the password for the SDM is the same as what you gave for the Administrator login in the portal. So after you login into the remoteGUI, CHANGE the password to what you have for the Administrator(just like the one in the portal).

  • IPlanet 6.0 Servlet Engine with Weblogic 6.1 EJB engine

    Thanks,
    Jon

WebLogic's Servlet engine is less than $1K / CPU I believe.

My macbook pro no longer connects to my TV with the mini dvi to hdmi adapter. A while ago the computer fell down and hit the cable. How can I tell if the computer is working ok. Doesn't show mirroring any more. Was working while watching a movie but when I pulled it out from the computer and put it back in the system would no longer mirrorr the screen on the TV.

  • WRT 120N- Cannot connect to the internet with more than one PC at a time.

Before I went on a three month vacation,I could connect 3 or 4 PC's either wireless or wired to my router with no problems at all.I have a desk top and a laptop computer which I use at home. After I returned,I found that I could connect to the internet with only one PC at a time.
If I was say, connected via my laptop,my desk top would continuously keep getting disconnected and vice versa.I have been reading the suggestions from experts here and have done a few checks based on them.I also cannot get to my router page which is 192.168.1.1 I keep getting a message that says "Problem Loading Page" and this happens with both,Firefox and Internet Explorer.I am running Windows 7 - 32 bit on my desk top and Vista Home Premium on my laptop.
I have opened the "Command Prompt" dialogue and pinged 192.168.1.1 and thereafter I typed in "ipconfig".These are the results:

I presume that this model is a modem **bleep** router as I do not have a separate modem with my system.I have a DSL connection and the firmware version of my router is ver.1.0.If I recall,I did upgrade to the next firmware upgrade a few months after I purchased the router but I am not sure.
I use both my PC's to run a small business venture and I am worried that resetting the router may cause some other problems and will stop me from using the internet.
The Command Prompt information above was taken from my laptop.
Any help will be really appreciated.
    Gerard.

The results I obtained using ipconfig in the command prompt have already been mentioned in my OP.
I do not know if the above result is what it is supposed to be but I still cannot access my router's home page. How do I verify if there is a proxy server and if there is one,how do I disable it in my browsers? This problem occured suddenly as a few months earlier all was well. It's getting rather frustrating.
I suggest resetting the router. Make sure firmware is updated. You can download it here - http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT120N. After firmware upgrade, reset and reconfigure. Just access the link below to guide you setting up the router.

  • Can No Longer Connect Wirelessly to ITunes With My IPod Touch

While I can connect to the Internet with my IPod Touch through my router, I cannot seem to connect to ITunes wirelessly. My device only shows when I have it connected through the cable directly. The Apple help site hasn't been much good, as they suggested to completely uninstall ITunes (I followed their instructions implicitly) and re-install. Same problem. Not sure if this has anything to do with the new OS....but it's suspicious.

Not sure if I was included in this question, but I'll answer anyway. My computer that I have ITunes on is hard wired into the router, which makes sense since it's on my computer desk But as I said, wireless works fine so It's logically not the IPod, it's not the router, so it has to be either the new OS or ITunes.
I have Rogers Cable and a Cisco Modem/router.
How do you quote posts on here?
    Yep, you were included...
To add a quote, click Reply, and at the top of the reply window is a tool bar.  Click the icon to the right of the smiley face....
Funny thing is, my desktop is hard wired too, but for grins and giggles I put iTunes on one of my laptops, and used the laptop to reset my iPod to factory settings.  Wireless synch still didn't work....
What really aggravates me is when you go to the KB to find out how to troubleshoot an issue, the articles are pretty much blank.  Click here, set that, but no real explanation of how stuff works or what can cause it to break....
One thing I have noticed is the KB article says that after you tell iTunes to use Wireless Synch if you don not eject the deivce, it will stay connected when you unplug it...  I never saw that behavior....
