Connect To Server (default behaviour in 8.5) help?

I was having difficulty with the connectToNetServer command
in my movies, so I opened my old Director 8.5 application to try to
solve the problem and came across the 'Connect to Server' behavior
that came with the program. When using it though it solves the main
problem I was having with the client I'm making, but created its
own set of problems.. For one, whenever I call the SendMessage
handler, it gives an error stating that the handler that (should)
hold the link to the multiuser xtra is void. I can't find what's
causing this problem.. Maybe I'm calling on the sendMessage command
incorrectly somehow.. perhaps you can tell me the correct way to
call the command "send message" from another script to the one
below to make it work properly, I've been using sendMessage(script
"ConnectToServer", theotherpartsofthiscommand) to do it and it
doesn't work properly... Maybe you can help.. and if you need a
sample script to see what I mean I can put one together for you,
just ask..

Safari 5.1.10 can't connect to server Version 4.1.3 Does - HELP!

Past week in 10.6.8 Safari 5.1.10 'cannot connect to a specific server normally used for FTP access (to reach an online cPanel)
(The problem arose in Freeway Express 6 with failed FTP uploads to that the same server, and apparently it has setup automatic blocks from the IP address
but
from the same ip address (via a router) an older MacMini 10.4.11 using the same upload info (url) IN SAFARI 4.1.3 can connect to cPanel log in window that the other computer cannOT reach.
This is based on difficulty over nearly 10 days inability to FTP access that server from the Mini running 10.6.8
I've proved to MH that that computer can successfully FTP to a DIFFERENT URL on a DIFFERENT server
and they are working on it now..
But what would cause one version of Safari to NOT access the same url as an earlier version CAN
copy paste same url into both...ONE ACCESSES
ONE DOES NOT.
WHY?

You moved plugins one at a time from the both user and root library folders already to test?

It may help to remove the affected account, then readd it.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap the affected email account.
Tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

When i connect sqlfire with oracle using DBsynchronizer It shows the error message as Wan is not supported for default license

Just installed my new ATV and everytime I go select a radio station it spins and spins and spins - then when I go back to th emenu and then back into the radio to try again I get "Could not connect to "DEFAULT_SERVER" seems pretty specific!? How do I connect to server (my other computer)?

I did this years ago but I don't remember the address I used. CMD/K opens the dialog box. My computer I want to connect is behind a modem and a router. What do I type in the for address? There is more than one computer on my home network. All hard drives have unique names. I have a DNS Alias IP address.
I want to do this with my computer when I am away from home. Like I said, I did it years ago but I don't remember the address I need to use. I've searched and everything I find doesn't sem to be what I'm looking for. The away computer is running 10.6 and the home computer is running 10.5.

I'm going to assume you're connecting remotely into your own network, and make some guesses, and hopefully help you recall how your network was set up.
What you enter depends on what access you've opened up into your network.
You can certainly try all the protocols you've listed. ftp, http, and the rest. (Well, not ftp. Avoid ftp. ftp is a pile of gnarly problems, and one of the best ways to make sure that anybody monitoring your network connections from the coffee shop will know your login credentials.   On a good day — one where your password and user aren't compromised — you'll still have to battle with getting the emphemeral port range working and open on either the client end or the server end, and through all of the intervening firewalls.   As should be obvious, I'm not a particular fan of ftp. Given a choice, I'd use sftp, or maybe ftp via a VPN.)
If your NAT device is correctly configured and at (more or less) its default settings, then absolutely everything you try for your remote access will be blocked.
Everything should be blocked, too, as you really don't want more than absolutely necessary open, as there are more than a few folks that would look to access your server.   The folks attempting remote access will generally find and try any open port, too. Even an open port associated with a relatively secure protocol can still have vulnerabilities, whether it's a protocol weakness that somebody discovers, or a weak password.
Now if you want to enable remote access of file services or such, then your NAT box will need to have TCP port 548 (AFP) configured and opened through, or whatever ports for whatever other service you want.
Beyond being insecure, ftp is a pain in the rump to open, as you either need a device that sniffs the traffic and opens the ports necessary, or that triggers on a connection, or you'll need to have the whole of the ephemeral port range open.
More appropriate for various remote-access contexts would be a VPN, either established via what's known as NAT pass-through (mapping the VPN ports through your NAT box to your OS X Server, and configuring the VPN server on your OS X Server box), or via VPN established directly into whatever gateway box you're using, if your gateway is mid-grade or more expensive box and has an integrated VPN server.   Not all of the NAT boxes have VPN support.
If you're in the Finder Connect To Server prompting:
If AFP (TCP port 548) is already open, then afp://youraddress
If CIFS/SMB (TCP port 445) is open, then smb://youraddress
But only somebody that's scanned your network or set up your network will know your configuration and which ports to use, both because of the NAT settings as well as any firewall you might be running on the server — OS X Server 10.6 could and variously did have the firewall service configured and running.
If you want to see what ports are already open, there are various remote services that offer that test. For instance, log into the server and use your web browser there to connect to GRC and run their Shields Up test; you'll need to run that port scan from within your network.   That'll tell you which ports are open through into your system.

Network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server keeps reverting to user set 4

I didn't used to have this problem as far as I'm aware, but as of recently, I've noticed that if I try to download more than 4 of one thing at a time from the same site, it would fail. For instance, if I have up 5 web pages of streaming content, only 4 will load, the other 5th one will do nothing until I finish one of the others. Upon looking up some information on this, I saw that the network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server is set at "user set = 4", and if I change that number to anything else, it corresponds. If I click to 'reset' the number, it goes to the default of 6 - which is still less than what it used to be. I used to not even have a limit on this as far as I'm aware, or if I did, it was well beyond 10 and that wasn't a product of me manipulating it.
What I'm asking is this:
1) How do I make this so it permanently switches to a higher number? Every time I reset it to 6 or I manually change the number to something higher, once I close it, those settings go back to 4.
2) Why is it reverting and not staying the way I change it?
3) What's the purpose of this and why is it just recently doing it when I haven't put any new add-ons or made any other refinements to Firefox that I'm aware of?

Two possible causes for it resetting to 4 that I can think of.
# You have an add-on handing that pref and that is resetting it to 4 when Firefox is restarted.
# That pref is set via user.js and that causes it to go to that value as Firefox starts.

How to connect sql server at RunTime?

Hi,I have a question that when i want to use DBAdapter to connect sql server 2000 in oracle esb at RunTime.
At design Time ,it can work.but at RunTime ,it does't work.
At run time,
1)modify Oracle_Home/j2ee/home/config/application.xml
add follow elements,the path is right:

2)Drop the JAR files into the following directories:

Connection Broker (Server 2012) what server to connect to ?

I have setup 3 Windows Server 2012 servers.
Server A running:
Remote Desktop Services Licensing
Remote Desktop Web Access
Remote Desktop Connection Broker
Server B running:
Remote Desktop Services Session Host
Server C running:
Remote Desktop Services Session Host
In old days you had to connect (with your RDP client) to the server running Session Directory, then you was redirected to one of the Terminal Service servers.
What about now ?
Does clients have to connect to the Connection Broker server to be directed to right session host ?
Should I create a DNS record that points to the Connection Broker and let RDP clients connect to that DNS address ?
Or should I create a round robin DNS address consisting of server B and server C ?
I'm a little confused on that matter, so hope anyone can help :-)
This is my first Remote Desktop Services setup on Server 2012

Hi,
In Server 2012/2012 R2 the initial connection goes to the RD Connection Broker. Yes, if necessary you would create a DNS record that points to the broker.
Also in 2012 a user would normally connect via RD Web Access, or RemoteApp and Desktop Connections (RADC), or Remote Resources instead of manually opening the Remote Desktop client and connecting that way. If they connect using the above methods they
will use a pre-configured .rdp file that has the target collection contained within it. The broker needs this target collection so that it knows where to send the user.
If you want users to manually launch a connection (without RDWeb, RADC, etc.) then you can use a non-IE web browser to download the .rdp files from RDWeb and give them to your users. Another alternative is to set the default collection in the broker's
registry so that if someone connects to the broker without specifying the target collection it will know to automatically send them to the default collection.

Restart, IISRESET etc. does not help.
