Connect to smart tv

I have a Macbook Air. I bought a Moshi Mini DisplayPort to HDM1 Adapter and Lindy Flat HDM1 Cable to connect to my Toshiba TV and Samsburg Blue ray player. Help??

I have the identical array to the origianl poster but have a different issue and was hoping for some advice.
I would like to use my Smart TV as the primary display without using the "mirror display" option?
I have an Apple Cinema Display and can have my Macbook Air closed and use the Cinema Display as the primary screen and use dashboard etc as i usually would on the laptop itself.
However, using the Moshi Mini DisplayPort to HDM1 Adapter, HDMI cable connected to the screen, i cannot get the computer to stay awake.
I shut it down and re-start, closing the laptop in the process as i normally would to make Cinema dispplay the primary and it fires up for about 4-5 seconds on the Smart TV then shuts down.
Is there a way around this? Is the port not waking the laptop as it usually does when using Apple product like Cinema Display.
Thanks in advance for any/all advice.

    Hi,
Have you any other Administrator account?
If yes, please log on with that account to disable the Smart Card Logon.
Start --> Run --> type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
    Navigate to:
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Smart Card
Right-click Turn on Smart Card Plug and Play service and click Edit to disable.
If no, please logon with the built-in administrator to do that if it's enabled.

  • Cannot connect to Smart Tee input pin... [Windows 7 64 bit]

Hi TV Tuner users! I need some help.
I've been searching on this forum and all over the web for a solution. I hope some of you guys might have a solution.
I have a TV @ anywhere Plus and run Windows 7. The card has previously worked but for the past few months it has malfunctioned.
When I start the TV @ anywhere recording software I get following errors:
"Cannot connect to Smart Tee input pin..."
    "Cannot render audio renderer (5001)..."
"Cannot init Direct show interface... (1001)"
I have not made any major adjustments to the computers drivers or hardware. I've reinstalled and installed, and reinstalled different versions of the driver and software. I've even switched PCI port.
So I'm a bit confused. Anyone having an idea for a solution?
This guy (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=124889.0) even formatted his harddrive. It's an old post, but maybe you've figured out something since that post?

  • Do I need a DLNA supported device in order to connect my SMART TV to the 5 Ghz network?

I use a Time Capsuel to create a network. Then, I use Plex media server on a PC and stream video from the TC harddrive to the plex app in the TV. Previously, from time to time, it has been slow, but most of the time it worked (1080p). My knowledge of network & stuff like this is limited...
    The problem:
My Smart TV (Samsung ue46es6715) does not connect to the network's 5 Ghz band any more. It connects to the 2,4 Ghz sometimes. It does not find the 5Ghz network anymore.
    Info from Samsung Support:
According to samsung support, I need a DLNA certified router. They say it is a compability problem without the DLNA support. So, samsung suppport claim this is the reason why I cannot connect to the 5 Ghz network - the TC does not support DLNA.
    Questions:
First of all; Is the samsung support team correct?
    2) Shouldn't I be able to connect to the 5 Ghz band in any case?
3 IF the Time Capsuel IS DLNA certified I can view, and stream data, direct from the TC harddrive
4 As the Time Capsule is not DLNA cerified, I need Plex working on a computer in order to stream data from the TC harddrive?
5 Even de fact that the TC does not support DLNA, I should still be able to at least connect the the 5 Ghz band?
    Enlighten me please

The TC does not support any media servers.. it is not and never has been a media device. It is as minimal as it can be and offers SMB to windows and AFP to Mac.. and that is the sum total of connections.
DLNA can be supplied to the TV by Plex running on the PC but I am unsure of the setup. You will need to look it up and specifically the issue with samsung TV. Apple of course will never support it.. Apple use iTunes.

    http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/forum/113-dlna/
Connection to 5ghz depends on setting up the connection in the TC correctly.. you have to realise you are not infact seeing the material on the TC.. you are only networking through the TC. The material is offered to your TV from the PC which is also connected to the TC and I guess using the TC as a filestore.. this is bad btw.. because then all files are streamed from TC--PC--TC---TV, You should use an external drive on the computer.. and share that with the network. Then it goes PC--TC--TV and you stop the double haul out and back to the TC. This is especially important if the PC is connected by wireless. That will reduce speed to a crawl.
5ghz is also poor range.. if the TC is far from the TV do not expect good connection or perhaps any connection.. try it close up to the TC.
Set the 5ghz to SMB standard name.. ie.. short.. 2-20 characters, No spaces and pure alphanumeric. Name should be different to the 2.4ghz name so you can choose it deliberately.
The TC name should also meet SMB standard.

  • How to Connect new Smart tv to Skype

We just bought a new Sharp Smart TV andtried to connect with the Skype APP included but could not, I called Sharp and they led me thru a reset process of the entire TV system and when we set everthing up it worked camera and all  I set up the account and everthing was OK but the next day it would not work the message was Not Ready Try again , called Sharp again but they have no trouble shooting solutions The TV is Ok with all other APPS? Please hepl we would like to Skype with family over the Holidays.
    Thanks
    Ron

    I have the same problem.
Sharp 70" Smart TV. Skype (w/ camera) doesn't work. As soon as a launch is attempted, a message comes up "Not Ready. Try Again". The message is so immediate, and the font is like a system font from the TV, and the screen doesn't even change at all from the previous app. So I'm assuming that the message is coming from Sharp, not even from the Skype software.
Resetting the whole TV makes it work, for a day, but when the TV powers off/on, the problem returns.
Phoning Sharp was no help, they just told me that some Sharp firmware update has broken Skype, and its up to me to get new software from Skype. Anyway, anyone heard of any new software from Skype, or if there is even a way to find out what version of Skype on Sharp that I have?

  • I am trying to wirelessly connect a smart tv to my laptop

te smart tv isasking for WAP2 passphrase the only one i know is he WAP where do i find the WAP2 passphrase

The free Wireless Key View program will display the wifi password of the network you are currently connected to.
*Some anti-virus program will detect this program as a trojan-virus because it  extracts your wifi password from your network manager. It's not a virus and is safe to use provided you download it from a reliable source.
    * I think you mean to say you have a WEP password and you are being prompted for a WPA2 password.
WEP is old and WEP passwords are considered very insecure and are easy to crack. You should be using WPA2 security if your router supports it. Your new smart TV may not support the old, less secure WEP standard. Maybe you can choose WEP from your smart TV network setup screen.

  • Connecting Samsung Smart Tv to play Live TV on Mac

I have a new Un60HU8550 Samsung Smart Tv, it has the capability to broadcast live TV, or whatever is playing on the screen wirelessly within the network to samsung smartphones, windows phones and iPhones. Does anyone know if there is some work around to make this happen on my Mac. When ever I search for this all I come up with is people wanting to get their TV to see their Mac, the opposite of what I'm looking to do. Samsung's App is called Smart View, but not available for Mac. I tried running it in parallels in windows 8.1, the TV shows up in the list to connect, but never connects, only comes up with network error and then the Tv disappears from the list and have to close the program and reload and the same thing happens again. I hope I was able to describe this properly. I'm not trying to see my Mac on the TV just to clarify, I want to see my TV on my Mac. I know there must be a way to do it. I would appreciate any help, and thank you in advance.

    Update: I have Mavericks 10.9.4

  • Cannot get MAC to connect with SMART TV

I have Verizon router-modem - Samsung smart tv - keep doing tech walk thrus with Verizon and Samsung - they went internal and even pulled my router info - bought tv while re-cuping after surgery   -  I am wondering if it is router/modem Verizon sent me - (this was a replacement they said  they sent me was in 2006  - which they didn't - I bought Linksys -) I feel it is one small thing - has anyone else had any problems with their iMAC and SmartTV - - and I thought it was going to be easy?? -Really appreciate any info -

I set up my Samsung Smart TV recently, and it was straightforward, thankfully. You say you're trying to connect the TV to the iMac - it might just be the terminology, but you should be connecting to the wifi network (I assume you are connecting via wifi, not ethernet) broadcast from the router.
I can retrace my steps as to what I did if it helps. I think the process on the various Samsung's is fairly similar across the various models.

  • Connection to Smart TV

    Hi there
How can I connect my PC to my TV wirelessly?
My PC is an HP TouchSmart 600.
My TV is a Samsung 6500 Smart TV with wireless receptor.
    Thanks
    Pericles

    Hi Pericles1977,
I understand you are trying to connect your Samsung Tv to your HP TouchSmart 600 Desktop wireless. If you connect the computer to your wireless router you should be able to add it in devices as a wireless device. Or you could connect the TV to the laptop via HDMI cable. I would suggest contact Samsung to perform this.
Here is a link to connecting it to you computer via wireless.

  • MacBook Air connect to Smart TV

    Hi
How do I connect MacAir Book to Smart TV-have HDMI option as USB appears unsupported?
    Thanks for help!

You can use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter if you want a wired connection.
Check out Apple TV.  It is a wireless interface to your TV.  It may be the best $99 investment you can make for entertainment on your TV.  It supports Netflix directly so you do not need your Mac in the loop to watch such movies.  It simply requires a standard $10 HDMI cable, not supplied with the Apple TV unit.  Through it, with Mavericks, you can use the TV as a standard OS X monitor or for entertainment.  Also check out the Beamer software to stream videos to it from your Mac.

  • Connecting Vizio smart tv to ATT WIFI

Unable to connect my VIZIO smart tv to my att wifi using wifi key from my computer or by using the VIZIO tv menu, any suggestions?

What's the issue that you happen to be experiencing? Is there any kind of error message you're receiving?
If you're getting incorrect password messages, confirm that you're typing in the correct password. Confirm by looking on the side of your gateway for the default wireless password(typically on a yellow sticker). Don't forget that wireless passwords are case sensitive.

  • Ethernet Connection to Smart TV?

I just purchased a Samsung 55" LED Smart tv, model #UN55D7000L and a Samsung BluRay DVD player.  Both are internet connectible; I would like to connect via cat6 cable.  My question is; would I be better off connecting the cat6 cable to the TV directly or through the DVD player 1st and then to the TV?
The reason I am asking is because drywall is coming to my theater room and I want to run the cable to the proper place first.  thanks.

Welcome to the forums, my beer drinking friend
If you want the internet features of your TV and Bluray player to be available, they must both be connected to your router independently.
To help us understand your setup, please list your internet service provider, as will as your modem and router model numbers.
