Connect to standard defintion TV?

I have a g5 isight imac that will shortly be retired to another room that also has a standard definition TV (with component input as well as scart/ composite).
Would it be possible to connect computer to TV? If so, which lead is necessary? And if anyone has tried this setup, how satisfactory is the result?
Thanks

The iMac G5 has a mini-VGA connector on the back. Quoting from "About the iMac G5 Video Out port and video mirroring":
'You can also use the video mirroring feature with a television or projector that has S-video or composite video connectors when you use the Apple Video Adapter.'

  • Connecting SAP standard report with Crystal report

    Hi all,
I've a SAP standard report S_ALR_87012284 using which I need to develop a dashboard using Xcelsius but before that I need
to build that report in Crystal reports.
Now is there any way to connect directly to SAP standard report from Crystal report ??
    Thanks
    John

    Hi John
I am not sure about the link to a standard Report. I don't think it is possible, As far as I can work out the closest you will get to what you want in  CR2008 is a link to Data Clusters, Data Dictionary and Function Modules CR.  Perhaps someone with more experience than me can offer more insight though.
If your goal is to utilize CR2008 just for the ability to link to Xcelcius you should check out the following site, as it may help you approach your goal differently. This shows a great method for linking directly from Xcelcius to SAP.

  • Connecting to standard TV set?

    Hello,
would like to know if anyone has any tips for connecting my powerbook directly to my TV for viewing both commercial DVD (through idvd) and avi files (through VLC) I can get an image and audio (s-out). However, the video window needs to be way off the desktop in-order to be seen on the television. What display settings are recommended?
Thank you for your help, these forums have been fantastic!
    Rich

From the displays system preferences you can select different modes for an external display,
Mirror - to mirror what's on the desktop,
Extend desktop - to make the external screen an extension of your desktop
SO you can use extend and then just drag the window to your tv and maximise it
Or mirror and it will run on both (I think this requires more work from the graphics processor though).
If you have a usb (wired keyboard) you can also use the tv in closed lid mode so that you can close the PowerBook.
    External Display Modes
    As Apple would say;
Choose from three display modes when you connect to an external display.
    * Dual display mode. Spread out your work by attaching a second display to your PowerBook.
    * Video mirroring mode. Whatever is on your PowerBook screen is displayed, or mirrored, on an external display, television or projector.
    * Lid-closed operation. Dedicate the PowerBook’s full video memory — and highest possible graphics performance — to the external display.

  • Av connection using standard AV cable.

This website shows you how to use a standard (cheaper) AV cable to watch your videos on though the tv. It works, I've tried it.
    http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/mac/2005/11/18/video-ipod.html?page=2

The iPod sends the audio and video signals out of different jacks than say your camcorder, so if you want to use a standard AV cable you have to plug it in differently so the right signals are going into the right port. It's a standard cable, and if you have a camcorder you would've gotten one. It's a 1/8 in plug for the output and standard inputs. Very sneaky on apple's part. I'll probably buy the kit anyway once i've got some spare cash though. They've got me hooked!

  • Macbook Aluminum connect to Standard CRT Tv

Hi, I've read some of the postings on here and on other websites. I have an idea of connecting my Aluminum macbook to a CRT TV with the RGB cables because i don't have a fancy plasma tv like everyone else does apparently. I was just wondering, if i bought the Mini DisplayPort to VGA and then bought a VGA to RGB cable. Would that connect it directly or would I need a converter for it to work properly. These are the two products i'm talking about.

  • Second DB Connection to the Standard R/3 Database in Open SQL?

Is there any explicit way in Open SQL to open a second DB connection to standard R/3 database? I want to save some data to the database, but do not want to interrupt the connection and its transaction context. So I need to open a second DB connection to store these data.
I learn from some notes that Native SQL can be used to open second connection either to the standard R/3 DB or to another database(same manufacturer or not), which we would not use. Our need is just to connect to the standard R/3 DB.
Anyone can help, I would very appreciate.

    Hi Stanley!
You are talking about an user-exit / BADI? They are never
inside select ... endselect loop. You can just insert your own data in any Z-Table. Don't rise any commit work - then your data fits in SAP's 'logical unit of work'-concept.
Or do you plan to do something different?

  • Help giving some users standard connections, other users secure

We've setup firewall forwarding and security, and everything works well over port 443.
Need to also give some users standard connections, however.
Have ready the manual front to back, but can't get this to work. Have done this:
-Followed instructions for setting up SGD security services and firewall forwarding. As stated, it works fine if everyone is over a secure connection
    -Have ports 3144, 5307, 80, and 443 open
-want to have some users connect over standard connection.
Every time, I get to the login screen, but after entering credentials, it times out and says "No response from the Secure Global Desktop Client"
Can someone please point to where in the manual it explains how to make some people connect with secure connections and some connect with standard connections? We really need a 'how to' as I find I'm chasing down disparate parts of the manual to try to figure this out and am getting pretty lost.
    Thank you

    Hi,
You can do that, but it needs to open more ports, In the Array Manager Secure connections should be to 443 and standard connections should be to 3144.
So from that starting poing, the users connecting in secure mode will use only 443.
Users connecting in standard mode will use 443 for the first AIP connection before the login process, after the users loggs in, the AIP connection will be changed to port 3144.
Believe me, I see that working from version 3.xx, and I tested it too in 4.30.
So as the previous folk says you can not use only 443 for standard and secure connections.
    I hope that helps,

  • Reset connections in connection pool

    Hi,
After DB restart (or connection failure) I try to recover the server. In order to do this, I want to tell to container connection pool to reset (clear) all available connections.
Does anybody knows how I can tell to container connection pool to reset (clear) all its connections (in standard way, or at least in Jboss)?
    Thanks,
    Igor.

Am not sure in JBoss....but as far as my knowledge with WL gies...you don't have to do anything....The WL container continuosly tries to sync the connection with the DB....there is a Retry interval if the Connections to the DB fails....Better the Check out the Official Docs

  • App-V 5.0 SP2 Standard & Middleware Package Publish by RES Management Software?

    Hi @all,
actually i am sitting by a customer packaging App-V 5.0 SP2 PAckages with Sequencer.
I have made Standard and Middleware-Packages.
Did somebody can say me how to publish App-V Packages (Standard & Middleware) by RES Management Software?
F.e. an App-V Package looks like this
    AdobeAcrobatStandard80_DE.appv
    AdobeAcrobatStandard80_DE.msi
    AdobeAcrobatStandard80_DE_DeploymentConfig.xml
    AdobeAcrobatStandard80_DE_UserConfig.xml
    report.xml
How can i define Connection Groups, that i can make connections between Standard and Middleware Applications?
    Greetz Berni

If you don't use the App-V Management server nor ConfigManager to deploy App-V packages, you have to create a ConnectionGroup definition XML file manually and then add the individual applications as well as the connection group definition to a client machine.
To create the ConenctionGroup XML file, you can use Notepad, Tim Mangan's
Appv_DefConnGroups or powershell (for instance as described by Aaron Parker on
    Stealthpuppy)
adding the App-V packages and the connection group(s) to a client can be done with powershell (but their might be some special features for that in RES already)

  • Trouble Connecting a Wireless Xbox 360 Controller to Windows 8.1 via the Play & Charge Kit

I've been trying to connect a standard black wireless Xbox 360 controller to my PC, a Dell Inspiron 17R Special Edition (what makes it special is a mystery to me, but that's the name) with the standard Play & Charge Kit.
I downloaded the drivers from Microsoft's website <http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-wireless-controller-for-windows>. Since there was no version for Windows 8.1, I downloaded the version for windows 7 (64-bit) and ran the installer
in compatibility mode. The installer ran just fine, and I was able to run joy.cpl with no trouble. The trouble was, my controller doesn't show up in the list of game controllers, which is blank.
Under Devices and Printers, an item named "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play and Charge Kit" appears in the "Unspecified" category. When I look at the properties of this device, there are only two tabs, "General" and "Hardware".
Under the "Hardware" tab, there is a device also named"Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play and Charge Kit" whose properties have all the proper drivers and suchlike.
    Help!

    Uninstall all the driver.
Download and install the latest driver,or,you may try the same to get via Windows Update.

  • Connecting a tv as an extra monitor - 2009 iMac variation

I have a 2009 IMac and I too want to export a video signal to my analog TV auxiliary input. Any suggestions? My TV accepts RCA plug and S-video. Also, any comments about the picture quality would be appreciated. Thanks.

In a quick Google search, I do not see any Mini DisplayPort (which is the type of video port on the new 2009 iMacs) adapters that go to composite video (RCA and S-Video). There are adapters that go from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI (used on HDTVs). Mini DisplayPort is a new standard, so there may be such adapters in the future.
However, I have read that the new Mini DisplayPort is a pure digital connection, so there may be no way to use a simple adapter to go to a purely analog output (such as for composite video). This is not confirmed in any Apple document that I know of, so it may not be true.
You can look at this rather extensive topic thread
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9155451
especially the excellent post by Lougle (the one with pictures), who provides a solution that he (or she) has shown to work.
As for picture quality, I have used older Macs to connect a standard TV over S-Video and RCA. The result is mixed. If you are using something like DVD Player or QuickTime Player to display a video in full screen mode on the TV, it works about as well as that TV would from a stand-alone DVD player. However, if you want to use it as a computer display (like a second screen to extend your Desktop), it is not worth the effort. The resolution will be low compare to a real computer display, and very very blurry.

    Hi Airings,
'ORA-00942: table or view does not exist'
According to the error message, it seems that the migrating table or view does not exist in the database, or SSMA does not have access to it. To troubleshoot the issue, please check the following things.
     1. Verify that if the spelling of the table or view name is correct.
     2. If the table or view exists but is in a different schema from the current schema where the SQL is executing (in other word, the table doesn’t own by you, but owned by other user), the ORA-00942 error will return too. Resolve this by
explicitly reference the table or view by specifying the schema name (schema_name.table_name).
    3. SSMA queries some additional catalog tables that you may not have permission to, please make sure that you grant the account permission to
read sys.mlog$. For more details, please review this similar thread:

  • Can't connect to OID using SSL (handshake failed NZerr 29039)

    Hi!
I'm trying to set up OID running on Windows Server 2003 for testing purposes.
I have downloaded the files as_windows_x86_oim_oif_101401_disk(1/2) and installed Oracle Internet Directory only.
I'm able to connect using standard clear text and using Oracle Directory Manager.
I have followed the instructions on this page (chapter 17):
Using Oracle Wallet Manager I have generated a certificate request with the key size of 2048.
I'm unsure what I was supposed to enter into the subject name of the request so I entered just "oid_idm", it looks like this now: "CN=oid_idm,C=US".
I then used my Novell eDirectory CA to sign the request and to generate the certificate. I exported the CA certificate from eDirectory and imported it into the wallet, it's listed under Trusted Certificates as "META-TREE", I then imported my signed certificate into the wallet and it says Certificate:Ready now.
The wallet is saved into C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.DC-1\ORACLE\WALLETS.
    Auto Login is enabled.
Using Directory Manager I right-clicked Configuration Set1 and selected "Create Like"
I configured the new set to listen on non-SSL port 1389 and SSL port 1636,
    SSL Authentication: No SSL Authentication
    SSL Enable: SSL only
SSL Wallet URL: file:C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.DC-1\ORACLE\WALLETSSSL Port: 1636
    Then I changed the OracleServiceORCL
to run as Administrator. Restarted the server, started the new instance (2).
Using this command on the OID server I can connect:
    ldapsearch -D cn=orcladmin -w secret -U 1 -h 192.168.0.101 -p 1636 -b dc=lab -s base "objectclass=*"
Trying to connect from my Linux server using it's own ldapsearch it doesn't work, I get the error: ldap_bind: Can't contact LDAP server
Trying to connect using Apache Directory Studio or LDAP Browser\Editor also doesn't work (SSL connection).
I can see the following in the log no matter which of the tree tools above I try to use:
    2008/10/12:13:01:09 * SSLthread:19 * ERROR * gslsflnNegotiateSSL * SSL Hand Shake failed Source address: 192.168.0.15(WINDESK)
    * (NZerr 29039)
Any ideas what I can do to solve this issue?
    Thanks!

If you are using openldap commands in your linux machine, you can get some issues with OID. Try with oracle ldap client command if you have it installed in your linux machine. Also try to use a ldapbrowser java client to confirm that your installation is fine it is the better choice to test your environment from remote machines.

  • Bh-803 and connection to 8800 Sapphire

    Hello guys,
Yesterday, a customer camed to me asking if I can connect his standard BH-803 bluetooth handsfree to his 8800 Saph. phone, telling me that he tried and tried after the manuals but nothing...
I took the operations in my hands... The bluetooth couldn't be found in the bluetooth menu, niether in any other devices.... I tried to look up for it with other phones - a 7390, e66... Nothing happend... Ok, I said, it's a problem with the handset... I took mine, from an 8800 Saph. new box, and tried to make a connection with his phone... or any other phone!!!! Nothing happened... Conform to the manual, the green light was open, meaning that the device is waiting for connection...
My quest is ... why this device couldn't be found on a 8800 Sapphire - altough it's the standard handsfree, delivered in the box, or any other phone....? It's not about his piece of device - BH-803, 'cause mine couldn't be connected at all...
So... Please a little advice, because I told him to come again these days, to solve the problem ...

For the client's handsfree I couldn't know if it is original or not, because I don't know the source of buying it, but from the one that is in my store, i'm def. sure, because our company takes products directly from Nokia Romania...
    It's odd, anyway...
    I was angry with that..
I will surley make a reset of device tomorrow, and I will come back with an answer..
