Connect To The Internet & Play Tunes To My Stereo

Hello. I have PC lap top and can connect to either my AirPort Express (connected to my stereo) OR my Linksys Wireless Router (connected to the Internet) - Can I connect to both at the same time?
Help....please...
Cheers,
James

Yes - 64-bit WEP is the same thing as 40-bit WEP.
Note that David Lovell tells you to disable WEP security on your wireless router. The reason for this is because failure to enter the WEP key on the Express in a format that is compatible with both the Express and the wireless router it is connecting to is probably the single biggest reason for failing to get the entire setup working. If you know what you are doing, there is of course no reason you couldn't just go ahead and set up WEP on the Express as well right from the start (using of course the same WEP key or its hex equivalent as used on the router).

  • WHy can't I play music that is in the cloud when I am not connected to the internet

In Itunes on my PC, if I am not connected to the internet I am not able to play tunes I have downloaded from Itunes. I can only play tunes that I loaded from CD's onto my computer. What is up with that? Can I bypass this restriction?

If they have been downloaded them you do not need an internet connection.

  • I-Tunes won't open unless I'm connected to the internet

I am a relatively new user to I-Tunes; when I try to open I-Tunes to play a CD or other files in my library, I-Tunes won't open unless I am connected to the Internet. Is this normal?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that.  If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar.  Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it.  If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.
If it doesn't appear on the left side, follow the troubleshooting steps shown in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538.

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way.  Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

  • We have a movie downloaded on a laptop connected to the internet pluged into our router in the basement and an apple tv upstairs trying to play the movie through home sharing but it wont play. can anyone tell me whats wrong?

we have a movie downloaded on a laptop connected to the internet pluged into our router in the basement and an apple tv upstairs trying to play the movie through home sharing but it wont play. can anyone tell me whats wrong? it comes to the last loading page where it shows the desscription of the movie befor it acually plays.

It can come about without any change done by the user, and it's not just from other networks. The placement of the router can also affect performance. Also make sure router is up to date.
Apart from that would be the reboots.

  • Cannot play podcasts unless connected to the Internet

    Hello,
I have an iPod touch running IOS v7.1.  I sometimes have trouble listening to podcasts when the device is not connected to the Internet. The podcasts will appear in the list and are greyed out. This will happen to podcasts I have listened to before.
As a specific example, I have had a podcast appear greyed out in the podcast list but it was the one I was playing most recently. If I go to "now playing" it will play. If I play a different podcast then I cannot go back to this one and play it any longer.
I cannot figure out any settings or reason for any of this. I feel like I am missing something basic.

  • My apple TV2 wont connect to the internet?

I have my apple tv connected via Ethernet cable to a CISCO hub which is connected to the internet. My laptop is connected to the hub and the internet works great. But the apple TV is running really SLOW, it cant even access netflix and when i tried to play a TV show on I tunes it said it would take 3 hours. I tried switching Ethernet cords and it still wont work. does anyone know what the problem could be? I'm in my college dorm and there's only 1 Ethernet port which is why I have to use a hub.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Many colleges and university have restrictions on their Internet service, contact your administrator to ask if the network provided will support the Apple TV.
