Connect to Wifi using LEAP in iOS 8.1

I was able to connect to wifi using LEAP (Lightweight Encryption Authentication Protocol) credentials with iOS 7.1 but as soon as I updated to iOS 8.1, I am not able to connect any more.
Did some R&D over this, got to know that Apple has explicitly disabled LEAP due to some security reasons.
Please comment if there is some solution or workaround to fix this issue.

Hi,
Have you test that other device could find this AD-Hoc network? You can try to recreate this network for test.
Based on my research, An ad hoc network is automatically deleted after all users disconnect from the network or when the person who set up the network disconnects and goes out of range of the other users of the network, unless you choose to make it a permanent
network when you create it. Therefore, please check whether you encountered similar situation.
I suspect that the error message means that the profile “MyNetwork2” doesn’t exist. Therefore, you may create the profile first.
To do this, please refer to the section “add profile” in the following document:

At your end you will be using your WiFi signal. At the other end the iPhone would be using the 3G cellular signal. The cellular plan would need to be provisioned to allow FaceTime calls over cellular.

Why can't I connect via WiFi even though my Airport Express shows a green light?

    Hi Jose,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you can't connect to your wireless network, trying these steps first can help to isolate the issue:
Check your range to the Wi-Fi router and reduce the effect of interference. If your computer is too far from your Wi-Fi router or your environment has too much Wi-Fi interference, then your computer may not detect the Wi-Fi network properly. The easiest way to check for range limits with your Wi-Fi network is to move your computer or your Wi-Fi router closer together and make sure that there are no obstructions (such as walls, cabinets, and so forth) between the router and your computer.See Potential sources of wireless interference for more information about interference and solutions.
Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If your computer works fine when connected to a different Wi-Fi network, then the issue may be related to your network router...

  • HT4972 I cannot connect to wifi since upgrading to ios 5.1

Since upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 I cannot connect to wifi. I damaged my last phone so Apple replaced it with my current phone but since I've had it it won't connect. The 'choose a Network' message just has a whirly circle like it trying to connect. I've tried resetting my phone and resetting my router but it doesn't work. Can anyone help? I'm now getting a message saying I need to back up to iCloud but I can't do this without connecting to wifi.

Thanks but this has not helped. I've booked an appointment at the Apple store on Snday. Helpfully they will be able to fix it without charging me alive only had this phone since May this year.

    Hi there gypsy101,
You may find the Wi-Fi troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap  and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings

  • IPOD NOT CONNECTING TO WIFI AFTER UPDATING TO IOS 8.1.3

I recently updated my ipod touch to ios 8.1.3. after which it stopped connecting to my wifi device saying password is incorrect. Needless to say password was correct and other devices were connecting fine. I restarted device, tried connecting it with other wifi devices (it didnt connect to other devices either) , i reset network setting , erased all contents and reset setting and finally restored ipod to factory setting using itunes but problem is still persisting.. Now I have an ipod without wifi which is pretty useless. Need your help in this regard

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Won't connect to wifi after updating to ios 6.1.2

Updated my Ipad mini to ios 6.1.2 and now it won't connect to my wifi network. All other devices connect. Tried resetting network settings. Tried hold the home and power button until reset. Tried restoring.

  • No connection to Wifi after upgrade to iOS 7.1 AND poor battery life

    Hi,
after upgrading my iPhone 4s to iOS to 7.1, I cannot connect to any Wifi anymore. Does anybody have an idea how to solve this issue?
Additional, I am wondering why battery life is much worse after the upgrade. I closed all apps via multitasking view. Nevertheless, battery is empty within a couple of hours. (before the upgrade, it lasted approx one day!!!)
    Any help is highly appreciated!
    Thanks!

After every iOS update there are reports of users experiencing faster than normal battery drain.  Most find that basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide resolves the issue.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).
I am not having issues with battery drain on my device, it was at 50% around 2PM today, removed off the charger at 6:30AM and I'm a fairly heavy user of the device.

  • After a power interruption, iMac no longer connects to wifi using time capsule. IPad connection to wifi remains intact.

I am prompted "the network (network name) requires a wpa password." after inputting my password, I have no success. Network status is on but is not connected to a network.

Hi, this has worked for a few...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
    Also, turn off IPv6:
    System Preferences » Network » AirPort » TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6
    Or whatever Interface you use.
