"Connect using Apple ID" not working

I have two Macs both running latest version of Lion on my home wireless network (created using a Netgear WGR614v9.
Both Macs have a user account associated with my Apple ID, and I've enabled file sharing for the user associated with my Apple ID on Mac "A"
Mac "B" will connect fine to Mac "A" if I log on using my OSX account and passord, but if I try to log on using the Apple ID associated with that same account, I get the error below:
Could this be an issue with my router or is there some config on the Mac side that might be wrong?

Hi,
I want to use my Apple ID when connecting to my iMac from my MacBook using Back to My Mac instead of using the credentials of my iMac.
When I go into finder and click "Share Screen" or "Connect As:" I select "Using an Apple ID" however when I click "Connect" it refuses the cinnection.
Both computers have Back to My Mac enabled with the same Apple ID.
I can connect fine when I use the credentials of my iMac (my username and password).
Can anyone help me out with this?

Exactly as the instructions say to. Enter the information requested on ATV. If you have passed that screen you can verify the info in iTunes.

I had a similar issue, without the actual error message. If you can't get it running at all, you will be forced to do what I, and many others have done over the past 24 hours. You can restore your Apple TV to factory settings (you will then have to enter your ID, passwords, etc., to connect everything again--sigh--) by obtianing a Micro-USB cable (found one today at Best Buy for 5 bucks, available other places that sell electronics, etc.) disconnect your Apple TV, and connect it via the micro usb cable (which attaches in the back of the ATV) to your computer, plug the ATV power cord into the wall and open iTUnes. You can click the Apple TV on the left side of iTunes and click restore--it will not take too long on a decent internet connection, and it will automatically install the software update (you have no choice on this, BTW, you can't go back to the previous software, as Apple only supplies the new software online (sadly). Your ATV 3 should work and you can put it back to your TV and re-enter all your info and enjoy the new features. But if you are like me, you won't enjoy AirPlay, something seems to be wrong with that if you use an iPhone or iPad and have updated to IOS7--not sure which is the problem, or both, but be prepared for a little more frustration, but at least your ATV 3 will "work" mostly as it did before.
I hope this helps, it is frustrating, but it is resolveable with a little bit of time--not that I'm happy about it, either.

Apple tv not working with panosonic TH-50PX75U old.

Apple tv not working with a 3-4 year old Panasonic TH50PX75U tv, works fine on all other tv's in the house. HDMI cables seem to be fine they work with the DVD and DVR. Ratio is set to auto, apple logo on screen when booting up then Goes away. Seen twice for a split,nano second the apple tv menu on screen. Then in upper left corner of tv a grey box appears with HDMI 2 appears. any help would be great... Thanks in advance, Tom

Apple remote not working

My Apple remote is not working with my MacBook. The Mac OS X 10.5 Help Knowledge Base says to go to Security > Systems > and Disable remote control infrared receiver. I don't have a systems button or box nor the checkbox to Disable remote control infrared receiver. And, my MacBook has an infrared receiver.

I have the same problem. When I update from TIger to Leopard the front row apple remote still working. But is been a long time the last time i used and now on 10.5.2 osx the apple remote not working as I imagine.
I read some answers that help me understand better the problem. My check box of "disable remote.."is unchecked and I saw a "pair" button and try to pair with my apple remote. The tips told me to HOLD "menu" and "next" buttons of apple remote to pair him with computer. And Works fine. So I try to push only Menu button (as I've done so many times on tiger) but still does not working. So I realize the command to "start front row from apple remote" now on Leopard 10.5.2 is MENU+NEXT buttons and does not anymore only menu button. For me works like this.
While I write this answer I try again push and hold only MENU button and after almost 2 or 3 seconds holding button appears on screen an virtual image of my apple remote signaling to replace the battery, may be now will be works only on push menu, but I need to change the battery first.

I do not have this problem with iPad ID is stored and can be used in App Store and iTunes. I have just upgraded to 5c and it's still a problem.

When fist setting up your new iphone you will be asked to log in with an apple id and password. If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. This apple id login must have already been created for the iphone to accept it. If this apple id is already created but is not being accepted by your iphone you then should shut down your iphone and restart the device.

This is quite strange, as MAS is really the same store as iTS. It's the same account.
This issue has to be something else going on with your system, and not at the Store's end.
How about make a new user account for testing. And see what happens when you try to use your Apple ID through there.

i eventually found a one-liner in THE APPLE MANUAL which fixed it.
i.e. Resetting the APPLE TV. The instruction was to use the silver small operating APPLE device,
HOLD DOWN THE MENU BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BLACK DOWN BUTTON UNTIL THE WHITE LIGHT ON THE APPLE TV STARTED BLINKING RAPID WHICH IT DID. I then released the pressure ON THE BUTTONS and within a few moments, the TV screen cleared and it started working again.
The interesting part is that I had thought a reset of the APPLE TV may have taken place when it was unplugged. BUT NO IT DID NOT.
Also, there was much helpful comment in the forums but not this simple solution which I found ON the WEBSITE APPLE MANUAL.
HOPE THE ABOVE IS CLEAR ENOUGH TO HELP OTHERS. Maggie 3/1/2015

I have a problem printing using the printer's UNC path ("\\Server_Name\Printer_Hostname") to work with a web
app hosted on IIS 8. With a windows forms application the UNC path is working fine and the app prints.
With
the web app I receive an error "The data area passed to a system call is tool small".
Also,
in the event viewer under Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> PrintService -> Operational, I receive the error "The print spooler failed to reopen an existing printer connection because it could not read the configuration information
from the registry key S-1-5-82-1980832875-2702362896-1795126167-3622310632-1152289074\Printers\Connections. The print spooler could not open the registry key. This can occur if the registry key is corrupt or missing, or if the registry recently became unavailable."

I'm having the same problem. It's not an issue with my TV, i've turned this feature off. I've tried playing with the ATV display settings but nothing works. When I stream netflix from my Samsung bluray player, I don't get the soap opera effect, but when I stream any video from the ATV, the soap opera effect is there. I'm thinking it's a choice that Apple made, but I really wish it could be turned off. Not a lot of people are searching for this, because it can be easy to overlook, but it's driving me nuts!

I'm trying to reset the password for my wifes Apple ID, but the verification link in the email sent out by Apple is not working. I've tried all the different browsers and even on an old PC without any Apple software installed, but sadly no success.

Ok, so here's the deal: it worked for me using the Reset Password function on the iPhone. So instead of trying to do it on your Mac, try your iPhone (in the settings for iTunes and App Store).
Regarding the problems on the Mac, the Apple support suggested to clear all cashe and cookies in the browser and order the Reset Password email again. Don't know if that will work though.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source List
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)
