Unfortunately in OS 10 you don't get the option 'USB Drive', if you don't have Bluetooth I would suggest copying your music to a flash drive.
Sory but you are mistken, in the SETTINGS > STORAGE AND ACCESS  at the bottom you have USB Mass Storage, if turn ON will transform the device into a micro SD Card reader, and the SD Card can then be access as any USB drive
Using the Playbook and the Z10 and the Z30 and loving them

  • Connecting IPHONE 5 to car

I just got an IPHONE 5 and need to connect it to my car, but I'm not having any luck......any suggestions will be much appreciated.......
    Thanks,
    Ali

Its your phone that needs to find your car.
Not knowing what car you have its hard to give precise advice, but in most cases, you set the Car's Bluetooth to Pairing Mode, or Discovery Mode.
Then you look for it from the Phone's Bluetooth Menu. In the Phone Go to Settings->Bluetooth->
Turn it On if its not on, and wait for your Car's System name to appear in the list of Bluetooth devices.
When it does tap on it. It will usually ask for a paring Pin code or password which should be provided either on screen in your car's system, or in the manual for it.
Pairing varies between cars, so its best if you refer to your cars manual for specific instructions on how to set it in Pairing mode.

  • Connecting iphone 4S to car stereo problems

I have a new iPhone 4S and when I connect it to my car stereo via a Monster cable I can hear static.  My wife's older iPhone does not have this issue.  Her phone plays, just as my old iPhone 3, perfect music.  I have checked my connections with the new phone, but I still get background static.  Do I need to use a different cable with the new iPhone?

Just read all of the history on the issue.  I have already posted feedback to Apple to document the issue. Thanks. I will also try to use a different cable and see if that works.

  • Problem connecting Z10 to PC

I hope I can get this problem resolved. While in Blackberry link I received a message to install an update As soon as this was done I started having connection problems. As soon as I connect my Z10 to my PC it says drivers not installed properly , the computer crashes, giving me a blue screen! I tried rolling back drivers but there is nothing listed under device manager. Then un-installed Blackberry link and re-installed it. Still same problem. Did a system restore, but this also did not help. Now what? How do I back up my phone or download pictures ?

Try uninstalling Link, reboot pc, connect Z10, Link and drivers should automatically reinstall.

  • HT204387 what is the bluetooth pairing default code to connect to bluetooth device (car).

What is the bluetooth pairing code to connect to bluetooth device (car) for iphone 4 w 7.os

first you must put your iphone in the discover mode by going to bluetooth on your phone which places it in discovery mode. Them you must go to your car's bluetooth discovery mode and place it in discovery mode. If the phone sees the car and visa versa, the car will give you a code to place into your phone. Once you put the code into the phone the two will be linked. Make sure that your car has "automatic" link set so that your phone will link every time you turn on the ignition. Refer to your car's manual for more help or go to your dealer, they should be able to help you or even do it for you, but you need to know how to be able to discover and then link bluetooth devices yourself because every bluetooth device uses the same discovery formula especially if you want to use your IOS devices to play music through your system using bluetooth.

  • Sudden issue connecting Z10 USB mass media storage to BMW car

For the past year I have had no issues USB connecting my Z10 to my BMW car (to listen to music) via the USB port. Ever since 2 weeks ago my Z10 has had issues connecting.
It would initially connect and the car display screen will show the connection as "read" but then when I try to go into the music folder/s nothing works. When I try to open a music folder (via the BMW display screen) I would hear a tiny-soft squeeling sound (2 tenth of a second) and then the car retries to connect to the phone again.
It's strange how it just suddenly happen. My ' USB mass storage' is switched on which allows the car to read from the phone's media card. I have cleared / formatted the USB card and put the music back onto the media card but the problem still arises. In my opinion it has to be the car electronics system that's causing the issue...unless someone can tell me otherwise.
    Any help?

Have you tried to connect the phone using the Mass Storage to a computer and to access the media files using the computer.
Also I would be trying another SD card in the phone just to see if it is not the SD card that is begining to be defect in some part of it

  • Ipod won't play out loud, and won't connect any longer to car adaptor

I have an ipod adapter for my car stereo, and it has worked well with my ipod touch for the 6 months i've been using it. But about a week ago, i was driving and using the adapter, and suddenly my ipod froze and reset it's self. After that, the adapter wouldn't work. It would play for 30 seconds, then the stereo would say "NO IPOD" and after removing the ipod there would be no volume bar, as if it were still connected. i decided to do a total restore, but the problem persisted. I tested it in another car with a different type of adapter, and it STILL would not play. this is VERY frustrating, and since my warranty expired last month, NO help from apple. ideas?

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or bad speaker or other hardware problem..
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.
iPhone Repair, Service & Parts: iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro Screens
    Replace the jack yourself

  • TS3581 iOS 6.1 update - iPhone will no longer connect/pair with my car.  Is there a workaround for this issue?

After the 6.1 update my iPhone 4S will no longer connect with my car stereo (2012 Chevy Sonic).  Until update, everything was working fine and I experienced no such issues.  I have tried deleting my phone from my stereo memory and re-pairing, but I get a pair unsuccessful error on my iPhone; I have been able to pair a pre-6.1 iPhone successfully after discovering the problem.  Has anyone found a workaround to this issue?

IIRC updating the iPhone iOS changes its characteristics when viewed by vehicle
    bluetooth
That is why you need to remove pairing from both ends and start again
Vehicle just does not recognise the iPhone as the one it previously paired with

  • Why does my 3GS get stuck at the "accessory connected" screen when I connect it to my car via USB?

I realize that the old app is now the music app. I dislike this new app, because an old function is now gone
With iOS 4.3.5, I used to be able to use the the USB hub in my car to charge my iPhone 3GS. It would show the screen that says accessory connected (with the image of an iPod), and then after a few seconds, it would select Hands Free Mode (connect through Bluetooth), and I could browse my music/playlists/etc. Now when I connect my iPhone to my car via the dock connector, all it does is stay at the screen which displays an image of an iPod, and the only action that I have available to me is to choose between dock connector And hands free. I choose hands free, but still, I am no longer free to select which music I want to have playing.
When I disconnect the phone from the USB connection, I am free to select my music, but I must leave it disconnected, because when I reconnect it, the music stops playing, and it goes back to that screen. There isn't even a clear way to get music to start playing on the phone when it is stuck on that screen.
Can the functionality of the music app be restored to that of the old app? I drive a lot, so I charge my phone through the USB connection in my car, and my phone is also my source of music, through the Bluetooth connection (as previously stated). I can no longer charge my phone and select/play music as I once could with 4.3.5 and the iPod application. I don't see anything that i can do from a user's standpoint, however, of anyone can help with this very specific issue, it would be much appreciated.

Try resetting the phone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Seems too early for an iPhone battery to fail. If the problem persists Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Iphone 5 no longer connecting to bluetooth in car?

My Iphone 5 has been connected succesfully via bluetooth to my car for the past 5 months (Ford Fiesta).  Yesterday I went to use it and it wont connect, I powered off the phone, turned bluetooth on/off still not working.
I debonded all phones from the car and went to start afresh but that wont work either.
When it is searching for devices it just seems to be stuck?  I tried another Iphone 5 in my car and that connected no problems at all.
Anyone have any ideas, it clearly must be the phone but wonder what on earth I have done.

Thanks for that, when I go to delete the pairing in the phone it does not give me the option of deleting  a device, it is just 'searching' under devices - like it is stuck?? I am guessing by the Head Unit you mean the car, I have deleted all phones from the car so it is completely empty.
I am truly stumped as I say it has been working perfectly and now its not, its driving me crazy!!

  • What product do you recommend to connect iphone/itouch to car that has an 'aux' option?  What is the? cord, and where can I buy it

Looking for best cord option for connecting and utilizing iphone and itouch to use in car that has an 'aux' port....thoughts, suggestions?
    Thanks

    depend on the connector
aux can be jack connector or RCA or various other connector types
aux really just mean analog audio in the non amped form that your dvdplayer and cdplayer and old stereo used
so buy a cable with a 3.5mm mini jack connector in one end and whatever connector your input device use or build the cable yourself

  • Connecting IPod Touch to Car Radio

I have a 2012 Volkwagen Beetle Turbo, and it has an IPod connection in the glove box. When I am connected, my radio will only shuffle all of my 12G songs on my IPod. Is there a way to play/select albums instead of it just shuffling through all the songs?

Read the manual for your car stereo.

  • Connecting c5 to sony car unit!

    Hi all,
when I used to connect my old nokia 6300 to my car radio/cd unit (sony 6000 cd) via bluetooth I used to have the call list (as stored in the phone by name displayed in, out, missed etc on the car head unit screen when the phone button was pressed.
I was able to scroll through these up/down and select dial to make a call.
I have now upgraded to C5 and although connects and makes and recives calls fine all that is displayed in the Sony car unit screen is the numbers not the 'names' as stored on the phone making it tricky to know who I'm calling.
Am I doing something wrong do I need to change a setting on the phone? I have 'remote sim' on in the bluetooth menu in the phone.

    Hi
This issue has come up before on some car manufacturer units and aftermarket ones too...
Problem is that some factory and aftermarket systems  have not implemented all the subset profiles within Bluetooth, as many have been added since their production date. If the unit has the option to have its software updated, then fully recommend this, however not many were this forward thinking!
Therefore, as newer handsets come out (from many manufacturers, not just Nokia) that use these update profiles, the two units cannot "talk" to each other.
    BUT
    There is a possible solution.
Firstly make sure your contacts are stored to the phone, not the SIM.
Secondly, download the contacts application here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/nokia-616-car-kit/car-kit-software
(Choose the one that matches your phone)
Connect your phone to the pc in pcsuite mode and install the application to the phone memory.
Delete the pairing on the phone AND the car kit.
Reboot the phone and then pair & connect to the car kit.
If this doesn't work, delete the contacts application from the phone and try this one:
     http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/nokia-810/software
These apps were designed to convert the contacts sending to an older Bluetooth subset but for Nokia Car Phones so it cannot be guaranteed that they will fix the communications with your unit - but we can hope!
    Finally,
with some units you can actually "send" the contacts to the car by
going into the contacts menu, selecting "mark all" and then "Send via
Bluetooth". In some cases the car kit appears to have only received on
contact but then actually does have all names etc.
    One
final point is that if you have images stored for your contacts, some car units tend to go a bit crazy so you should delete
    these.
    Hope this is of use....
