Connected Ipod lost all playlists, songs in itunes and on ipod

I connected my video ipod to my computer, not for the first time, and all my songs and playlists were erased from my ipod and, in my itunes library, I lost all my playlists, recently purchased songs, and recently played folder. Why? How can I retrieve my playlists? How can I prevent this from happening again? Jeannine

Weird.
While there's plenty of things that could change the playback speed in iTunes, I don't know of anything that could change the speed of playback on the iPod itself.
Maybe you've had a stroke. Might want to see a doctor about that.

i need my two accounts, i live between nyc and paris.

That's what happens when you switch stores.  You need to stay with one account (at one store) otherwise you lose files that were synced with the other store.

  • I lost all my music on itunes and ipod

my computer crashed during winter brake so i lost all my music on itunes, now ive lost all my music on ipod i dont know what to do and i cant live without my music please help me out to get it back.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>transfer Purchases

i am loosing all of my songs on itunes and i have itunes match

    Not possible.
If all music was purchased from the iTunes store, you can manually download each song one by one with your iPhone without having to pay for it again.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
You can also enable automatic downloads with your iTunes account on each device for future purchases.
Settings > Store. Under Automatic Downloads, select Music and Books and Apps if you want on each device. With this selected on each device, after purchasing/downloading a song on one device it will be downloaded on the other device automatically.

What is going on with my comp? Lost all music on itunes. it says can't locate music. Docked my ipod and it wiped that as well.
Tried to print but nothing. In preferences it knows it's the Epson C64 but it just won't print. When I take it out of Airport and plug directly to iMac, nothing.
Never switched the machine off so how do I get the music back. It was playing yesterday and today, it's gone. No updates were done, the machine has not been touched in anyway

    Senti,
In your Music > iTunes folder, is your
    music
still in there? Thats where your music should be
    by

As for the printer, make sure you have proper

  • Problems with some songs in iTunes (and my iPod)

    Hi,
I do not know whether this is the right category for my problem, but I did not find a suitable one.
I have problems with some songs in iTunes. They do not sound right. It is hard to me to describe my problem in English (thanks to apple's "great" support...I was not able to contact them personally except by phone). The songs "hang", they sound like someone reels (?) it. The problem does not only appear with iTunes but also with my iPod nano first generation.
My godmother brang me CDs where that problems appear (but not the whole CDs have that problem, only a few songs) from the USA - I live in Germany. Maybe that is cause of the error. But I cannot imagine that, because CDs there and here have the same format and I have several CDs from the US where is no problem at all. I am absolutely sure that the CDs are originals and not a copy, by the way.
Maybe you can help me, it would be great!
    Thanks,
    Jule

Yes, I thought that's what Restore should do, but the problems remain.  Hmmm, the out of order 'album's' songlist is notated 1 of 8, 2 of 8, 3 of 8...  I'll try 01, 02...
    Probably a good idea.
The other album is running through the list of songs like fast-forward, but not playing the songs.  Then, iPod locks up.
Do these same tracks play okay in iTunes?  What is the original source for these tracks?  Were they downloads from the iTunes Store or imported from outside of iTunes?  What format are they encoded in and at what bitrate?

  • I plugged in my nano to transfer all my songs to ITunes and everything was erased..how do I get them back

I plugged my nano into my new Hp Touch on windows 8 to download all my music back to ITunes and it erased everthing off my nano and now I cant find any of my songs..HELP

Yeah, unless she backs up the iphone to the itunes on her original computer before syncing again. Backing up will create a backup of the camera roll, so this shouldn't be a problem.
    Copied from the OP's post.
I plugged in my iphone to my mom's computer for charging and all my pictures are now on her computer and off my iphone.
The photos imported by her Mom's computer were deleted from the Camera Roll after the import process was completed. If she updates her iPhone's backup now, it will be updated with a blank Camera Roll on the iPhone.
The question was how to get the photos back onto the phone. What I said would have worked.
And what you provided would have transferred these photos back to her iPhone in the Photo Library preventing her from importing the photos with her computer. And if there are any photos on her iPhone that were transferred from her computer or regardless, the photos transferred from her Mom's computer to her iPhone via the iTunes sync process will be deleted from her iPhone's Photo Library as the first step when selecting to transfer any photos from her computer to her iPhone.

  • Lost all Playlists in MAC iTunes AFTER Upgrading Windows iTunes to v.10.7 (via Parallels) - HELP!

I HAVE iTUNES v 10.6x installed on my Macbook Pro - been using for quite awhile without issues.  All Updates to iTunes have gone just fine.  I also use Parallels Desktop with Windows XP Pro installed on it and within that Windows installation on this Mac, I have installed many software programs -- all okay for over 3 years - no real issues.  I also have installed iTunes in the Windows, but never really used the Preferences of iTunes to use its Advanced settings to change the location of the Library to the same location of the Mac's iTunes -- the Library is on an external HD.  The use of iTunes in Windows was never really used because I never had the right location of the Library set in Preferences.
About 5 days ago, while in Windows XP, I got an Apple Software Upgrade Notice that a new version of iTunes was available for download -- Version 10.7.  Not thinking about it then, I told myself that when I finished upgrading inside Windows that I would exit Windows and while in Macbook Pro's OS X 10.5.8, i just knew there would be an Apple Software Update Notice to also update my Mac's iTunes to version 10.7 also.  That's what I planned to do while still in Windows. While installing the update to version 10.7 within Windows, I thought I'd try to set the proper location for the Library file using iTunes' Preferences and Advance Tab.  I finished the upgrade to 10.7, went into Preferences and Advanced Tab and did just that and set the correct location on the external harddisk then tried to play songs using my Windows XP's upgraded iTunes.  IT WORKED JUST FINE.
I now exited from Windows and went back to straight Macbook Pro OS X 10.5.8 and tried to check for this upgrade for iTunes from 10.6x to 10.7 by going to the Apple Website and downloaded this from there.  When I then attempted to install the downloaded 10.7 (to replace/update my 10.6x) it would not install because my OS X 10.5.8 is not useable for the new 10.7.  Okay, I'd just use my tried and true version 10.6x.  WRONG!!!!!
When I attempted to open my iTunes on the Mac, it would open, but all my normal screen views were gone -- NO PLAYLISTS WHATSOEVER.  The Music folder (the Library?) was fine but all songs had the infamous "!" MARK next to each and every song -- not playable.  So, remembering the Library location setting in Preferences was the way to "reset" iTunes so the Library would be recognized and useable, I went into Preferences and reset the Library to the proper and same location as it always had been (and, where I had just previously set the Windows' iTunes to).  Now the "!" marks were gone and each song in the Music Folder played just fine.  BUT, NO PLAYLISTS WHATSOEVER.  ALL MY ORGANIZATION EFFORTS FOR YEARS WAS GONE!!!
My thoughts are that the Windows iTunes upgrade to 10.7 changed some key iTunes files common to both operating systems on the Macbook Pro, Parallels Desktop, and Windows XP installation -- some Windows iTunes program files are kept and store in the same default location as the Mac's and on the internal hard drive of the Mac.
Because, in further researching this problem, I found that the "iTUNES LIBRARY.itl" file located on the Mac's hard drive had, in fact, been changed by the Windows iTunes upgrade to 10.7!!!!!!  THOSE CHANGES "CORRUPTED" THIS FILE TO USE IN THE MAC iTUNES PROGRAM AND THE PLAYLISTS ARE GONE.  I also use this software in this effort:  PARALLELS DESKTOP VER 7.X, FULLY UPDATED WINDOWS XP PRO, FULLY UPDATE AS MUCH AS APPLE HAS PROVIDED TO MY OS X 10.5.8 (I CAN'T UPGRADE TO LION), AND OF COURSE iTUNES 10.6x.
THEREFORE, WHAT EXACTLY SHOULD/COULD I DO TO GET THE PLAYLISTS BACK INTO MY MAC OS X 10.5.8 iTUNES?  I DON'T CARE TO USE THE WINDOWS iTUNES ANYMORE -- I'LL JUST STAY WITH MY MAC'S.  PLEASE HELP!!!  THANK YOU.

  • Number of songs in iTunes and my iPod do not match

I have 3002 songs in the "My Music" folder. My iPod indicates 3002 songs. But iTunes says I have 3005. How can I find where the other three songs are coming from? There are no "!" or "?" in the left column. Thank you.

This happens to me also. Go to the bottom of your library list. Normally at the end of the list you will find audio files that are not synchronised to the i-pod. In my case it is most often phone messages because the answering machine is linked to the computer. As I have set i-tunes as my preferred audio player it will be used to listen to these messages and they are then stored at the end of the library but never synchronized. You can just delete it there

  • I wiped my computer and iTunes did not remember songs ect when reinstalled it and have I lost all my songs. Doesn't the Apple ID sign in keep all your details??

I wiped my computer and when I reinstalled iTunes, none of my songs ect were listed. Have I lost all my songs for good and need to redownload and copy my CDs???
Why doesn't the Apple ID remember everything for when you change computers or do a wipe? So frustrated and unhappy now.

Songs you upload into iTunes via MP3 file or CD are stored locally.   You would need to do those again if you wiped your hard drive (assuming you didn't have a backup of your iTunes library)
Songs you download through iTunes are downloadable again with your ID at no additional charge.

  • Computer received virus, lost all original songs

My Pc was infected last week by a bad virus. I was forced to format my hard drive and reinstall all software. I copied all songs to a sandisk( removable drive ) but now Itunes can not find original song. Over 200 songs @ $1.00 a pop alot of money, Can someone please help.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You have to put the songs back in the iTunes music folder. It is located in My Documents-->My Music-->iTunes-->iTunes Music
Or, in iTunes, go to edit-->preferences. Hit the advanced tab. Check "Keep iTunes Music folder organized"
    Click ok.
Now drag all of the songs into iTunes while viewing the library. They should copy to your harddrive, as long as the iTunes Music folder is located on your harddrive (see top of image). Note that you may have duplicates. You may want to delete all the songs from iTunes and then drag the backups back in.
Make sure they are on your harddrive and work without the backup Sandisk connected. Check by going to My Documents-->My Music-->iTunes-->iTunes Music
Please post back if you are confused about one part or another so you don't lose your music.

  • Ipod not recognised by mac or itunes and won't restore

i think this is a very similar problem to everyone else but i can't find a helpful answer so i'm going to outline my situation to see if anyone can help.
to start with my ipod was ok, then when i plugged it in to load new songs on it my mac and itunes didn't recognise it. this has happened to me a couple of times before so i thought i'd go to restore it and updater didn't recognise it.
i decided to restart it to see if that helped but that only made the unhappy ipod appear, but what's more worrying is that it keeps resetting itself and you can hear the hard drive repeatedly fire up when it's doing this.
it also keeps showing the battery icon when it's not plugged into anything and when i do plug it in it wont charge.
last time it did something like this i left it for a couple of weeks and then it sorted itself out, but i find this very inconveniant.
i think i should point out that my updater and itunes software are up to date so they aren't the problem.
does anyone have any ideas on why it does this? and what i can do to fix it? i sent it off once and they actually sent me back a new ipod but now i'm out of warranty and cannot do this. any suggestions would be much appreciated as the support website is useless.
    thanks ^_^

I had the same problem... where the updater software couldn't even recognise the iPod. I took my iPod to my roomates computer who doesn't have the latest iTunes installed and voila it worked fine... so I figured it must be the software.
I uninstalled all the software including iTunes and the iPod updater program. After I did that, I re-installed the software using the original cd that came with my iPod. When I did that, the iPod was restored and it now works.
If you are having this problem, and did this and it worked, do not try and transfer your music back to your iPod using the latest version of iTunes. I think there is something buggy with the latest update that is causing a lot of problems with people's iPods. I honestly have my iPod sitting in a drawer with no music, waiting for another update from Apple.
