I think you were connecting to wireless router to access Internet, you need to have proper configuration on wireless router and wireless adapter to make it work, take a look on this wireless network setup tutorial to help you.

  • LinkSys Wireless Card connects to "Access Point" but no internet connection

I have 2 LinkSys wireless cards. one is 802.11g, the other b. The signal for the Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi Wireless Base Station is very strong, but when I try to connect, it says "You are connected to the access point, but the Internet cannot be found". No internet access, and I can't ping anything (Ping request could not find host...). And of course the printer hooked to the AirPort is also not recognized. My iMac and Macbook both have no problems connecting to the network. There is no problem with ethernet connection to the Airport. Is it possible to have a compatibility problem between the Linksys and Airport hardware? I thought as long as they were were compatible 802.11, they would work together. The cards had no problem with my old DLink router or other hotspots in the city. Is there a set-up I missed for setting up the PC-based cards with the AirPort?

Hi... it seems that your Wireless adapter on does get a IP address or DNS no after reboot. Try assigning a Static IP address and DNS on the Wireless Adapter. Also try to update the drivers for that wireless adapter.

  • My iPod Touch 4G connects to access point, but not the internet.

I'm stuck for ideas, so any help is appreciated! I've gone through the troubleshooting guide, and none of that helped. I've reset my network settings, forgetting the specific network, resetting the router, resetting the iPod, restoring it to factory settings, upgrading to the latest firmware, and nothing has worked.
Sometimes, if I forget the network and reset my iPod, it may (but not always) work for that session. Whenever I try again, I have to repeat this process and HOPE it works.
I can't try on another network because that's not available to me and won't be for a while.
This happened really randomly. Nothing changed, and it's driving me mad. Any help is appreciated a lot!

Does it connect to the internet with other networks?
    - If so that indicates a problem with your router. Likely time for a new router.
    - If not that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Hi,
    Uninstall drivers, from start->programs->wireless G notebook adapter->uninstall
    Download latest drivers from www.linksys.com/download
Install these latest drivers, and now connect to your wireless network.
    Now try to access internet.

Right click on it and select "View Available Wireless Network".... select your network... when prompted for "Network key" type in your security key and click on 'Connect' ... After this see if you are able to go online or not.

I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.
No answers here, but you are definitely not alone with this issue.

  • IMac as a wireless access point to internet

Hi anyone knows iMac as a access point to internet to use other gadgets

Check out System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing
If your iMac is connected to your broadband modem with an Ethernet cable, you can share access to it via WiFi.
If your iMac is connected to your broadband modem with Airport Wifi, you can share access by plugging a device into the iMac via Ethernet cable.
So yes, you can share the access by Ethernet cable or WiFi, one or the other. Not both simultaneously.

  • Internet cannot be found on one pc

I am having issues connecting one of my PCs to the internet.  Up until a week ago, it was always connected and worked fine.  Its my sisters pc, so I have no idea what she has done to it, but it suddenly wouldnt connect anymore.  I have 4 pcs, 2 360s and a ps3 that all connect fine, but this computer gives me the message:  YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE ACCESS POINT BUT THE INTERNET CANNOT BE FOUND.
I have flashed the bios on my router (WRT54GX with SRX v1) and I have downloaded the latest drivers for my network adaptors.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers.  (WMP54gx4 with srx).  I know the hardware is good, as I have exchanged it with other machines that work fine, and they run with the hardware currently in the PC.
I am by no means smart enough to go beyond what I have tried.  Any suggestions?
    Scott

I am also having this problem...
    I have 3 desktops and a laptop.
MY Desktop is hooked up to the router (WRT54GS), my wife's is wireless with its adapter, we have a spare computer in the basement which is wireless and then my old Dell Laptop is wireless.
Up until yesterday (Friday) it all worked fine.  Then all of a sudden the other two desktops are not working.  The laptop still works but the desktops will not.
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Error Message: "The internet cannot be found"

I have successfully installed and configured a WRT54G2 wireless router on my primary PC running Windows Vista.  I have also successfully installed and configured a WUSB54GC adapter on a older second PC running Windows/ME with 256mb of memory.
With the help of Linksys Tech Support, I have sync'd my router with the Adapter.  I get the message: "You are connected to the Access point, but the internet cannot be found".  The second PC continues to cycle attempting to access the internet, without any success.
I would appreciate any suggestions regarding solving this final step to the internet.  Soooo close, yet so far away.  Thanks in advance for any help or ideas...

Sounds like you have a conflict between your ethernet connection and your wireless.  Even though you do not have a cable between computer and router, it is still on.  You will have to look in your help section on how to disable lan.  I had the same problem with my old pentium 1 running win98se.

  • Can't connect to Access Point that is connected to the Internet (Snow Leopard 10.6.8)

    Hi all,
I am normally not someone who posts on support forums since most of the problems can be solved be searching through piles of other questions, but this things has really got me pulling out my hair and I hope that maybe someone can help me with this super weird problem.
So, a few weeks back, my Mac Mini (kind of old, guessing 2007) stopped connecting to Wireless networks. Since all other devices in home (iPhone, MacBook Pro and a PC) are connecting just fine I thought it had to do with my settings. All it says is: "connection timeout".
The Mac Mini connects just fine when I plug in an ethernet cable, but that's a no go since I don't want cables laying around our living room that much.
I tried a lot of things suggested my other people like removing settings, PRAM reset, moving the AP closer, router settings etc etc. Of no avail. Even tried to fix it by reinstalling Snow Leopard, but that didn't do it either.
Though when I turned my MBP into an Access Point it could connect to that network just fine. That made me wonder if it's my router, but once I plug in an ethernet cable into my MBP to share Internet access it won't connect! Tried the same with my router and indeed, it connects just fine once it has no Internet connection.
Tried searching for people that had the same problem, but I couldn't find them. Can anybody here help?
TLDR; Mac won't connect to Wireless network that has an internet connection, but does when it hasn't.
    Thanks!

Try disconnecting the router from the internet (WAN port) and plugging a PC directly into one of the LAN ports. After resetting, ignore the smartwifi login, click the two checkboxes, and login manually/directly with the "admin" password and reconfigure.
If you don't want to do all that just yet, try accessing the router from the public IP address assigned by your ISP. That might work
