Hi,
Uninstall drivers, from start->programs->wireless G notebook adapter->uninstall
Download latest drivers from www.linksys.com/download
Install these latest drivers, and now connect to your wireless network.
Now try to access internet.

  • LinkSys Wireless Card connects to "Access Point" but no internet connection

    I have 2 LinkSys wireless cards. one is 802.11g, the other b. The signal for the Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi Wireless Base Station is very strong, but when I try to connect, it says "You are connected to the access point, but the Internet cannot be found". No internet access, and I can't ping anything (Ping request could not find host...). And of course the printer hooked to the AirPort is also not recognized. My iMac and Macbook both have no problems connecting to the network. There is no problem with ethernet connection to the Airport. Is it possible to have a compatibility problem between the Linksys and Airport hardware? I thought as long as they were were compatible 802.11, they would work together. The cards had no problem with my old DLink router or other hotspots in the city. Is there a set-up I missed for setting up the PC-based cards with the AirPort?

    Is your wireless network secured?
    The box said windows xp or better... So I installed Linux!

  • Connected to access point but internet cannot be found????

    router was working fine until it wasnt finding internet one nite and then it was unplugged so internet could be used on main computer and now when i try to plug everything back up to get wireless internet, it still says connected to access point but internet not found dont have a clue what is going on!?!

    I think you were connecting to wireless router to access Internet, you need to have proper configuration on wireless router and wireless adapter to make it work, take a look on this wireless network setup tutorial to help you.

  • My iPod Touch 4G connects to access point, but not the internet.

    I'm stuck for ideas, so any help is appreciated! I've gone through the troubleshooting guide, and none of that helped. I've reset my network settings, forgetting the specific network, resetting the router, resetting the iPod, restoring it to factory settings, upgrading to the latest firmware, and nothing has worked.
    Sometimes, if I forget the network and reset my iPod, it may (but not always) work for that session. Whenever I try again, I have to repeat this process and HOPE it works.
    I can't try on another network because that's not available to me and won't be for a while.
    This happened really randomly. Nothing changed, and it's driving me mad. Any help is appreciated a lot!

    Does it connect to the internet with other networks?
    - If so that indicates a problem with your router. Likely time for a new router.
    - If not that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Whats the OS installed on your computer. In the system tray you will find the linksys monitor...right click on it and select "Use windiws XP configuration" ... once its done ... next to that you will find "Wireless Network Connection" icon ... Right click on it and select "View Available Wireless Network".... select your network... when prompted for "Network key" type in your security key and click on 'Connect' ... After this see if you are able to go online or not.

  • Netctl connects to access points I've never seen before

    On my laptop using netcl and auto switching profiles as described in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Netctl.
    Recently, and more than once, I'm connected at a public cafe and I'm suddenly no longer able to reach the internet.
    When I investigate, I find that I'm no longer connected to the cafe's wifi, but I am connected to some other essid that I've never seen before.  This is disconcerting for possible security reasons but also annoying to get disconnected in the middle of whatever I'm doing.
    The essids that my box connects to I've never seen before.  (I'm assuming the come from nearby computers.)  There is no corresponding profile in /etc/netctl.
    To work around the problem, I run
    sudo systemctl stop [email protected]; sudo wifi-menu
    then reconnect to the access point I was originally connected to.
      I really don't want netctl-auto to change a connection that is working.  How can I prevent this from ever happening?

    That file has a long list of every wireless router I've connected to!  I didn't know that was there.  It duplicates a lot of information thats in /etc/netctl/...   It has passwords, too.  I'm not going to post it here.
    But I don't see the mysterious routers in that file.  The ones I find myself connected to, that I never connected to myself.
    ... Looking over that file again, I see a strange entry:
    network={
    key_mgmt=NONE
    ssid=""
    id_str="wlp3s0-none"
    I'm going to delete that.  I believe it comes from a time I connected to an essid without a name.  But I'm not sure if that's the culprit.

    Hi,
    I am going on iTunes and it is saying that I am not connected to the internet but I am. I was on iTunes last a few days ago. Please help...
    iTunes is a program on your computer, it is not "the Internet".  The fact that the program runs has no bearing on Internet connectivity.
    Maybe if a little more information was supplied, like version of the Operating system on the computer and version of iTunes, then a little more assistance could be provided.

  • Airport network connected on full bars but "no internet connection" and missing lock icon!

    this is really frustrating!
    I'm using wireless in my house. when i click on my network it connects and it shows perfect connection which is full bars.
    on Network Preferences it says that i'm connected to the Airport but when i go to Safari it shows "You are not connected to the Internet" so i click on Network Diagnostic where the 3 network status on top has the green indicator but the ISP, Internet and Server show red and failed.
    I don't think there's anything wrong with my internet connection since I'm able to go online using my sister's computer and also on my iPhone.
    There's also usually a Lock icon/symbol next to my network's name but when i'm connected to my network the Lock icon seems to be missing but it still shows full bars connection. I really don't get how it's possible to be connected to a network, but no internet connection, while i can access the internet on other devices.
    Please help me out here. I've tried ways like going to library>preferences then put the system configuration into Trash, and going to Network Preferences and removing the Airport service and creating a new one.
    and one more thing. all mentioned above are when i clicked on Advanced on network preferences then i clicked on TCP/IP and changed the Configure IPv4 from Using DHCP to Manually. When i'm back to using DHCP there's an exclamation point over the airport icon on the top bar and it says no internet connection.

    Got my own question answered by a colleague.
    He had me create another "Location" in the network pane of System Preferences, then choose it and click Apply. I created a new location which I called 'Airport', chose it and clicked Apply and sure enough, an IP address showed up and all is well.
    Justin said it's a network bug in Leopard.

    you may be connected to the wireless network but the question is the internet working properly on the wireless network...
    what i mean is that i can make a wireless network without the internet so i can save and share files and have other devices connected to the same network access them... but you have to make sure that your internet it running properly... may have to reconfigure the router is your using PPPOE or if it was working prior to your post then try to restart your modem... that usually resolves most issues.

    Hi Blueandpink,
    If you are running iOS 4, you will need to update the iPad via iTunes on your computer (can't do OTA updates unless you have iOS 5 or higher).
    If you have a first generation iPad, unfortunately you won't be able to update to iOS 6 (iOS 5 is the highest you can update to on the original iPad).
    If you are on an iPad 2, 3, or 4th generation with iOS 5 and it still isn't working, try holding  down on both the Sleep AND Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds (ignore the red slider button). Keep holding it until the Apple Logo appears. When you see the Apple logo on the black screen, let go of the buttons. This “reset” fixes a lot of iPad issues and might work to resolve the update issue. Try updating again.
    Hope this helps!

    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
