Connected to computer iPod shows songs but disconnected songs are not seen

When I connect my iPod to the computer it says I have songs and pictures but when i disconnect it my songs or pictures arent there what should I do

If you have all of your songs in iTunes, try restoring your iPod. This will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings with iTunes 7

  • When ripping a CD to iTunes to sync to iPod classic, songs are not listed in sequence.  Some are missing only to find them further down the list

When ripping some CDs to iTunes to then sync to my iPod classic, songs are not listed in proper sequence.  Some are separated from CD and listed elsewhere, what gives??

You probably have you Itunes music set as list and not as albums. Go to view at the top of Itunes and check as albums.

  • Had 1800 songs on ipod, connected to computer and all songs are deleted??

I had 1800 songs on my ipod, a friend downloaded them onto it for me. I was installing the itunes disc and plugged the ipod into the computer at the same time and now can not find the songs anywhere... Where did they go, I thought if they weren't on the ipod anymore that they've got to be on my computer somewhere, but I can not find any of them. If anyone knows what I've done please help...

You are aware that this is completely illegal,
    right?
Actually, copying music from your friends really falls under Fair Use.
If you apply the four fair use tests:
    1. the purpose and character of the use is not for profit (for)
    2. the work is published, but creative (against)
    3. the amount is probably only certain songs off the album (for)
    4. the effect on the market is small (person to person copying is considered to be a minimal effect on the marketplace, whereas sharing with the entire internet is not) (for)
So really, copying your friends music really passes most of the fair use tests. It might be technically illegal, but it's not a case where anybody could actually sue you and win.
Copyright infringement is allowed in certain cases.

  • Hello, I bought an ipod second hend but my muscis are not working what can i do?

Hello guys, i just bought my ipod classic 3rd generation, i transmet musics but it's shows no musics so now what can i do help me out plz!!!

SO,,, You've transferred music from itunes to the ipod already? And it's still not showing up on the Ipod, which is what I'm assuming.  If you are not seeing music on your Ipod, then try restoring it to factory defaults. This can be done through the computer.  If a factory reset does not solve any issues, then maybe something is wrong with itunes. How are you syncing the music through itunes? Are you sure it's even syncing? Maybe you thought you clicked the sync button, but didn't. If that's the case, then here is an article on how to sync music to your ipod from itunes.http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12113  If that does not work, then all I would be able to suggest is that the ipod is damaged in some way or form, and therefore does not work. Hope I helped, -Samuel

  • ITunes says my iPod is synced but songs are not appearing.

I had to start all over with my iPod because all of my files were erased. I downloaded a bunch of new songs and videos and when I sync my iPod, a message appears saying that three of the files cannot be copied. I used to get that before too, so no big deal. But when I look on my iPod, the songs are not there. It is not telling me that it cannot be synced and the bar at the bottom of the preferences page or w/e says that I have 1.60 GB of music, 795.1 MB of video, and 25.42 MB of 'other'. I have already authorized this computer. Why won't it sync properly?

iTunes can "sync" an iPod, and not transfer any songs.  You may need to set up or update automatic syncing in iTunes for the iPod.  Otherwise, syncing may sync nothing.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, the iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
Second, when you set up automatic syncing, the iPod's existing content is replaced.  Any songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.  Is that OK?  If that's a problem, please post back.
Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar.  To the right, the iPod's Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This setting enables automatic syncing.  If your iTunes music library can fit on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Then, "everything" (that is music) syncs to the iPod when you click Apply.  Going forward, any changes to the music library sync automatically to the iPod, at the next opportunity.
Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlist, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select (checkmark) what you want on the iPod from the lists below.  For example, you can have playlists in your iTunes library with songs you want on the iPod.  On the iPod's Music screen, select those playlists under Playlists.  When you click Apply, the songs in your selections sync to the iPod.  Going forward, to update your iPod, update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time the iPod is connected (or when you click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes automatically.

  • Whay when i connect to pc  didnt shows media but camera

whay when i connect to pc  didnt shows media but camera

The iPhone will not show up as a harddrive on your PC, as for example the older iPod models did.
You can only sync media from your PC and phone by using iTunes.
If it does not show up in iTunes, try these tips:

  • My computer says my songs are loaded on the ipod, but there isn't anything

I got an iPod mini for Christmas. I followed the instructions to get everything set up on the computer (I already had iTunes). When I connect my iPod, it says all of the songs are already downloaded to my iPod and the "updates are complete". When I disconnect my iPod, there aren't any songs there. If I scroll through the settings, it says "0 songs", but when I connect my iPod to iTunes, it says there is 11 hours of songs there (I have the songs uploaded to the computer, but I cannot get them onto my iPod).
I tried to reset my iPod, restore it, reload and update iTunes, everything else that is suggested to fix it. My computer says the songs are on my iPod, but my iPod says there are 0 songs. How do I get the songs loaded?

    Check out this.
    Strange iPod behavior.

My ipod touch seems to have updated on its own, and now I can't access the songs, show a red circle with a red dot in the center.  Computer says the songs are still on the ipod.  Fix?

I have the same problem. I bought a 3rd party software (tunejack) and it allowed me to transfer my songs to my new pc. Now I can't play them because I am not authorized. It says I am but then it says im not.

What version of iTunes is on the computer? You need at least 11.4.

  • IPod is showing duplicates of songs, but songs are not duplicated in iTunes.

iPod touch is showing duplicates of songs, but songs are not duplicated in iTunes... any ideas how to fix? Tried resyncing, didn't work.

I'm fishing slightly but you may have casing inconsistenices in artist or album names that cause the iOS firmware to see more than one instance of the album but with each getting all the tracks. Merging stuff in iTunes via sort fields may also have unintended consequenses on the device. Could you post back a screenshot or decribe the symptoms more fully, ie. exactly which menu screen you are in on the iPod, what is repeated etc. The songs menu for example can correctly list more than one copy of a song if it appears on different albums.
