Connected to internet but will not work.
Hello friends i have gotten an iphone from a friend yesterday. I have yet to get it activated so im just using it on wifi for now. turned it on connected it to my home wifi and had no issues smooth sailing. I later that night went out to eat and connected to the wifi at Friday's, the place we went to eat. It made me connect to their wifi and for every app that i opened like snapchat, twtitter and instagram it opened what seemed to be a web browser page. and on the page it made me click accept to what seemed to just be a simple * agree to connect to our wifi etc. etc.* so i did and again everything went fine i could use the wifi perfectly.
now the issue that i'm having is i came home and try to open twitter, instagram and snapchat again and a message comes up saying
"Could not Connect" please check your connection and try again.
i'm not sure if what i did at dinner last night with their wifi has anything to do with the issue i'm having now but it seems to be to much of a coincidence that i had no issues, do all that for their wifi come home and am now having issues. but i CAN use safari on the iphone but for EVERY website i attempt to go to while connecting to the webpage and before finishing brings up a message saying
"Cannot Verify Server Identity" safari cannot verify the identity of "www.google.com". would you like to continue anyway?
with the options of Cancel, Details or Continue if i click continue it loads the page but what seems to be a broken version of the page i'm looking to connect to.
any help would be great i hope i put in enough detail i tried not to miss anything so i can get the best input from you friends i'm all ears!

No, it shouldn't have any effect at all. There is such a thing as a coincidence.
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If that doesn't work, try Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. I will delete all of your saved WiFi passwords but nothing else.

My MacBook Pro will connect to Wifi at one location (this is a secure location) but will not allow access to the internet. I will put in the password but will not display page. Other wifi capable devises do not have this issue but my Mac and my Iphone 4S will not work. I have tried restarting the router. All other wifi locations I have been to have not had this issue. Any suggestions? I am realtively new to Apple products (less than a year) so any advise is greatly appreciated.
The other devices that are working got on with the same password. It says it is connected. Just nothing works on the internet.

My Macbook OS X 10.5.8 decided it didn't want to load any webpages anymore. I have tried both firefox and safari and get the same result. The tab will say connecting...but it never does. WHY!?!??!
I have four bars of WiFi connection.
Network diagnostics tests comes back "Connected" like there's no problem at all.
I have restarted my router and computer.
I have another Macbook Air that is connected just fine.
I have deleted and re-added the airport service.
I have renewed the DHCP Lease.
I have changed the router channel.
I have tried everything!!
Please help!Nevermind, problem fixed. After reading how to setup router with cable modem I realized I need to goto main and clone router to cable modem. I did that and problem was solved.

Ipod touch connected to wifi but will not work
Hey guys, my wifi connect has gone a bit strange, i can connect to my router but none of the internet based apps will work, cannt connect to Safari or Apps store. Iv tried everything iv even restored to factory settings and lost all my data in the process. My router works fine with fellow ipods and laptops, it just isnt connecting to mine! Any Help Please im pulling my hair out!
Despite the WiFi connection sign you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address when the iPod requested it. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc. -
I have a new ipad, it says I am connected to the internet but will not work. When I attempt to go to a web sight the green bar moves 1/2 inch and nothing.
I have a used linksys router that I got from work. I tried connecting with a older ipad and every thing works correctly. any ideas?Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I recommend that you start with taking a look at the Apple Support article to help you troubleshoot what the issue may be.
If that still doesn't resolve the issue, we will need to get the AirPort icon back on the OS X menu bar to continue. Please try the following:

I have downloaded the latest Adobe Flash - it says successful but will not work. It says to 'Manage Plug-ins but the Plug-in says it is enabled but it will not work at all. I have tried disabling and then enabling - no success. Please help!
There's two different versions of Flash. The ActiveX version for IE, and the Plugin version for other browsers. Did you install the correct version? This forum's software doesn't thing that Flash is installed for Firefox or the Plugin is disabled.

Sometimes my iPad1 locks up and has the flat battery graphic after charging all night, but will not work until you disconnect the charger, then it reboots and the battery is fully charged and works normally.
It has only happened for the last month or so
Also, sometimes it drops out of apps, ie facebook etc. just like you have hit the stop buttonWho replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

Lately I've been experiencing an issue with my internet, my computer will connect to wifi, but the internet will not work. I have tried multiple wifi networks, and sometimes the internet works but it is slow, or sometimes it won't work at all. For whatever reason apple.com is the only one working at the moment.. how convienent.. I have rebooted my laptop, the router and my operating system is up to date. Please help!! I'm a college student and internet is crucial for one of my classes!

Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies
Deselect any checked boxes on the left then click OK.
Relaunch your browser to test.
And make sure the firewall is off. System Preferences > Securty & Privacy > Firewall
If it's on, you may need to click the lock icon to turn if off. You may be prompted for your admin password.
