Connected to Wifi but Internet still isn't working and Safari can't open any pages?

I'm able to connect to Wi-Fi networks, but my Internet is still not opening web pages and none of my applications that require Internet are working.  Is this a problem with my computer or is there something I can do to fix it?

Then you are probably not actually connected. Go to Settings/Wi-Fi and tap the arrow to the right of the network that you think you are connected to. If the IP is 169..., then no you are not really connected, the iPad timed out and self-asigned the IP when it did not receive one from your router in a timely manner.
Try restarting/resetting the router, reset it to its factory settings and even check to see if there is new firmware for the router.

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
    Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • Mac is connected to network but internet still won't work?

before chirstmas my internet was working perfectly fine, but it went down, like none of the familys laptops worked, the ipad didn't, none of the ipods, my mac or my iphone, since it was chirstmas we couldn't ring up to get it fixed.. however just after new year the router seemed just fine everything started working again expect for my mac, it says i'm connected to my wireless network but i can't access the internet, i've tried restarted my router countless times, it does nothing, i've tried to delete my network, i've tried deleting airport, nothing has worked.
fed up of having to hopspot with my iPhone it's costing me a bomb, as i'm a graphic design student at uni i need the internet:/

Run /System/Library/CoreServices/Network Diagnostics (this is the program that gets offered to you when you try to connect to a web site in Safari when you are not connected to the internet.  It's really hard to find -- seems to be invisible to spotlight -- so if you get it to launch from Safari you should save it in your dock.)
What you will probably see is that the first couple of lights are green (which is why it says you are "connected" to the wireless -- you are) and then the bottom 2 or 3 lights are yellow or red.
Follow the troubleshooting instructions in NetworkDiagnotics and you may just get things to work.
What I suspect is that you have no DNS, because your router isn't handing out DNS.  To simply bypass that problem, go into your network preferences and hit the "Advanced" button and then the DNS tab, and add a manual DNS server.  If your ISP has given you the address of a DNS server, use that one.  Otherwise use 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 -- those are google's DNS servers.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router

I am connected to wifi but Internet doesn't work. Software updated and settings reset. Still no luck. I pod touch

Despite the connection indication you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

    Hi, KK93.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router and Mac can resolve the issue.  However, try the steps in the article below to troubleshoot the Wi-Fi issue with your MacBook.

  • HT204370 I just bought GOT season 1, and it says i need the quicktime player, which I then installed, but it still isn't working, what should I do?

I've already tried uninstalling and then installing the quick time again, but it still isn't working. I have an ASUS laptop it that helps.

I think this is a known problem with Lion and some installs of Logic, I've seen it mentioned before.

Okay so my IPod touch 4 won't play music through any headphone I put into the port. I've tried it with 4-5 different headphones but it still won't work.  How can I fix this? This isn't the first time something like this has happened but it has never stayed this way for such a long time. If I have to send it in for repairs I will but I'm not sure if its under warranty

    To check for warranty coverage:

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for theother 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

    Crich,
The usual reasons for an Apple ID getting disabled are either unauthorized activity or violations of the Terms & Conditions.
Submit your request to iTunes Customer Service and if appropriate, they will re-enable it.
