Even if you did have BT capability, you can't copy any file over since each data file has to be associated with an app, thus you'd need to use iTunes to associate the file with an app in order to copy. Alternatives are to use Dropbox or iDisk, if the associated app has that capability. For example, to get a Pages document to the iPad, you use either iTunes to copy it to Pages/iPad or put the file on iDisk and then use Pages/iPad to import it. But you can't just connect via BT and copy the file to some folder on the iPad. The iPad doesn't have a traditional folder system like computers.

Is it possible to connect the iPad to an iMac via bluetooth? I ask because my iMac does "see" the iPad via bluetooth but when I try to 'Browse' the iPad via the iMac I get the message "The device does not have the necessary services". Synchronize iPad to Imac via WIFI
Hi guys, I know that is possible synchronize iPad/iPhone with Mac via WIFI but I´m not able to do. It say that iPad must be connect to electicity and on the same WIFI of the Mac. After checking this, the button Synchronize on mi iPad is always greyed out and so I can´t click on it.
Any idea?
Thanks a lotFirst of all - the instructions that you are referring to are for Automatic Syncing with iTunes via WiFi. I sync my iPad every day via WiFi with the iPad sitting on the coffee table and NOT plugged into power. I also do not auto sync - I initiate the sync on my own.
You need to set it up for WiFi syncing within iTunes first.
Connect the iPad to your Mac and launch iTunes. Let it sync if you auto sync. Then click on the iPad name on the left side under devices. Click on the Summary Tab in iTunes on the right. Click on the option to Sync this iPad over Wifi. Click on the Apply button in the lower right corner of iTunes and then eject the iPad.
Now try to sync via WiFi. See if the Sync option is active now in the iPad settings. Make sure that iTunes is running on the Mac as well.

HT1296 My iPhone has lost contacts although iPad and iMac have not. All are set to synch via cloud.
Can anyone assist me until recently my contacts were synchronised between iphone iPad and iMac via the cloud I now find that the opponents is loosing contacts?

On the device ith the missing contacts are you sure All Contacts shows at the top of the screen when in the Contacts App? -
Just downloaded FACETIME on my 4yr. olf Imac running Snow Leopard. When making a call to my friend's Imac all works correctly going both ways. When my wife calls me via Facetime from her Ipad, I cannot click on "accept"- not there? When called by the Imac (newest), the "accept" or "reject" radio button appears for me to click and connect. On my wife's Ipad the two radio buttons always appear when a call actiivates Facetime and comes on?
There is nothing I can find in "Preferences" in Facetime to turn that on or off. I suspect it has to do with having a more current operating system; that the "controls" are in the operating system? [I'm guessing] It's frustrating getting Facebook calls from several friends on Ipads! Any ideas...VFPI suspect it has to do with not having a more current operating system
Exactly, what Apple is doing is leveraging new features only on newer OS X versions to force you to upgrade OS X to 10.7 or later.
What they don't tell you is 10.7 or later will NOT run your PowerPC based software, some of it you can't get Intel versions like for perfectly working printers, scanners and games etc. So it can be a very expensive OS X upgrade to 10.7 or later with third party software.

Also they don't tell you is the risk in bricking your machine if the update goes badly, so you have to have AppleCare in case that occurs so it's on them to fix it. Else your paying money to replace the logicboard or buying a new machine prematurely.
A four year old machine can't have AppleCare, it's only good for 3 years from date of purchase new.
Your machine came with a boot hard drive, it's usually got about 4-5 years of life on it, then it needs to be replaced.
Also they don't tell you the newer OS X version has more abilities and features that causes your machine to slow down in performance, especially on older machines.
Also they implement new, idotic and extremely fustrating new user interface features in a arbitrary "you take it or leave it" manner with little or no fall back method.
So upgrading OS X is a gamble on older machines that otherwise would likely work perfectly fine for the next 5 years if one didn't need to have to mess with it.
Since Snow Leopard has slightly over 25% OS X version market share, your still good for security updates etc for the next few years if you just want to stay where your at and be happy.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still
The Lions are, well, not so welcome due to Scott Forstall retard UI issues, OS X Mavericks 10.9 is likely going to fix things a bit better.
But basically what is occuring is Apple is trying to force a faster hardware upgrade cycle with the more expensive products by leveraging features on the smaller devices that expire sooner.
Apple is a hardware company that leverages whatever it can to get you to buy more hardware, it's why they are as rich as they are. -

FaceTime: I have a iPad, iPhone, iMac all on the same apple Id/account. Without changing id/email address can I use FaceTime between any 2 of my devices? It works from iPad to iPhone but not the other way??? I would like talk/see my kids if am away.

using an ipad will use the email address since you can't make a phone call. see the link.
Your basically calling/emailing yourself that's why your getting a busy signal. -
I have two apple products registered to the same apple id. I would like to use FaceTime on my iPad while out of town. I need to do FaceTime to my iMac at home (both iPad and imac are reg. to same id). It won't let me do it, help?
You should really read the manual.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer. -

Bluetooth on the iPad is aimed at devices such as keyboards and heaadphones, not for transferring files. The supported bluetooth profiles are listed on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647

A printer that I have connected to my iMac via usb in not showing up in printer options on my iPhone or iPad and it use to before I upgraded to 8.1. How can I fix this?
Is it an Airprint-compatible printer, and is its WiFi enabled if it is? (see: About AirPrint)
If it isn't an Airprint supported printer, then you need a 3rd party driver on your iMac to print from an iPhone. Such as Printopia. As it worked in the past you probably have such a printer driver installed; check and see if it's running.
Beyond that try restarting the printer, restarting the phone, restarting your router, and restarting your computer. -

How do I send files from my IMAC via bluetooth to my new Ipad? They will not "pair" but they are connected and discoverable. I send a file from Imac snow leopard OS X 10.6 to the ipadusing bluetooth, but the failure message says the ipad does not have the necessary services. What are these? Do I neeed to have iphoto and ms word to send pix and .doc files?
File Sharing over Bluetooth is not a feature of iOS devices. iOS does not include the required Bluetooth profiles to allow this. You cannot add this feature, so you may as well stop trying.

We are both on Wifi, DSL.I had the same problem, but solved the problem differently.
I removed restrictions on accounts and location, on both iPad and iPhone.
Settings -> General -> Restrictions: accounts and location (both set to Allow Changes)
- Remove restrictions on Accounts and Location (set to Allow Changes)
- Turn off FaceTime on both devices.
- Turn off both devices and restart both.
- Turn on FaceTime on iPhone using only my phone number, without Apple ID. => Activation Ok
- Turn on FaceTime on iPad using Apple ID and default email address. => Activation Ok
- Try to call each other using other registered Number/email.
.... And worked ok for me.
I put back the restrictions On, on accounts and location, and it worked also ok afterwards.
There must be a bug somewhere related to these restrictions or something in that area. Apple should provide a fix to this. Restrictions also caused problem the message "Waiting for activation" and was solved in about the same manner as above.

I can not synchronise the agenda's in iPad and iMac
I am using a iMac mid 2010 (yosemite) and a iPad mini 2 ios 8.1.1. Following the help instructions in itunes and the ios 8.1 manual , but it does not work.
Both using the synchronise button in iTunes or the automatic method via wifi, the agenda's in iPad and iMac will not synchronise.
Help apreciated.Strangely enough synchronising iPhone (4S ios 8.1) and iMac does work!
