Connecting 2  iPad's together to play 1 movie simultaneously

I have an iPad 3 (I think, old 30 pin connector) and an iPad mini.  I'm searching for a method to be able to sync the iPad's together so they are able to play one movie simultaneously without anyone having to wear headphones.  We've got 3 kids, 2 ipads, and 1 long road trip ahead of us!

I am not aware of a method to do that. However, if the movie is in your iTunes library, you should be able to sync it to both devices, just have to play them separately.

Netflix won't work on my iPad why???

I don't know if this will work since this article talks about how to fix the problem if you had been already using the app, but it states that resetting your network settings will work.

I had exact same problem and I have found a way to get round out!!!! Easy!
So the reason it doesn't allow it to play is for security to stop piracy etc.
Plug in the cable and VGA and aux cable and get everything set up so you are looking at the home screen.
    1) select Videos
    2) selected the film you want to watch
    3) click the little play button
    4) it will then come up with the message saying it can't play protected films blah blah blah
    5) WITHOUT clicking ok double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar and swipe left to reveal the control panel
    6) hold fast forward for a second or two and the movie with continue to play!
Stay in the multi tasking bar with the control panel, The message will stay there but don't worry. Kick back and enjoy your iPad movie on the big screen:)
I'm sure your saying thanks:) it was my pleasure realising I've outsmarted apples little security protection thing lol

  • IPad 2 to Apple TV: Cannot Play Movie - The Connected Device is not authorized to play protected movies.

I am getting the 'Connected Device is not authorized to play protected movies' message.
    Here is my setup:
From the iPad 2 I used iTunes to Rent a movie - Safe House in SD.
I then used Airplay Mirroring to send the movie to my Apple TV.
The Apple TV is connected to a Vizio V0370M HDTV.
According to Vizio all of the HDMI ports have HDCP.
When the movie starts I get this error message on the iPad.
I have used this approach in the past with success.
I rented a couple of episodes of HBO's True Blood and they played just fine on the Vizio through Apple TV.
I believe some were in HD and some SD.
Using the iPad with Airplay Mirroring is a very nice way to send content to the HDTV.
I was hoping I'd be able to do this for anything that is on the iPad.
Is there something wrong with my configuration? Or what I'm trying to do?
Thanks for any help or advice!

As the video is downloaded from iTunes it should be in the right format. It could be a DRM rights issue. Watch this video of how to watch DRM iTunes video on a wi-drive via Safari - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta6cCegKBqQ

  • How can I move movies from my computer to my iPad? They will play in quicktime but not iTunes

How can I move movies from my computer to my iPad? They will play with quicktime but not iTunes so I can't sync them

Th AVPlayerHD works well for playing other video types.  You can transfer the videos via USB in the app tab in iTunes on your computer.  When you open that tab when you have you iPad connected to the computer scroll down and you will see apps listed on the left and a blank on the right.  Click on the app and then click on the add button under the blank window on the right.  Then navigate to the video you want to play and it will transfer it to the iPad.  I have about 14 movies on mine using AVPlayerHD.  works very well.  Also have VLC player (before it was yanked from the app store).  Works about the same.
You can also get the app Air Video and stream the video to from your computer to the iPad, and even have Theo ad connected to the tv to watch on there.  I do that all the time with my iPhone.  Saves time with not having to sync movies all the time.

  • Can I play movies from iPad to blu ray player?, Can I play movies from iPad to blu ray player?

How do you play movie on a blu ray from the iPad ?

Subject of your posts seems to be asking if you can take movies from the iPad and play them on a BluRay player. No, you can't, though there are ways to connect your iPad to a television. The body of your post seems to be asking if you can take BluRay movies and play them on your iPad. No. Commercial DVDs are encrypted. In order to make a copy, you'd need to break that encryption. That's illegal in the U.S., so, we're not able to talk about it on this forum. Sorry.

  • Apple TV buffers air play movie rented from iTunes and downloaded on iPad.

When I download rented movie from iTunes to iPad and then air play to Apple TV the AppleTV buffers for 30-45 min as if it is trying to re-download the rented move. It use to start instantly with a complete status bar.

    Was an internet connection available?
I'm not sure I would ever play a rented movie by mirroring from an iPad as mirroring is lossy and reduces quality.
It may actually not work via mirroring.

Make sure you are not set to Work Offline in File menu.
There is a possibility that your connection dropped even briefly, more so if using wireless. Make sure Firefox is not set to "[v] Work Offline" in File menu just above Exit.
By default, Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 will automatically use offline mode if there is no network connection. Under certain conditions, after the connection is reestablished it may remain in offline mode without the user's knowledge. Firefox 4 and newer prevents this behavior by default. To prevent this behavior in versions 3.5 and 3.6, add an entry to the '''about:config''' options, as follows.
    * Type '''about:config''' in Location (address) bar
    * Right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean preference. Name: '''network.manage-offline-status'''. Value: '''false'''

  • Playing movies from an SD card on an iPad

We recently bought the iPad 2. We'd like to play movies (iTunes rented or purchased) whilst traveling with no access to wifi. I was hoping I can download to an SDHD card prior to the trip (to preserve the limited ipad memory) and while traveling, plug into the iPa the SD card/Camera adapter from Apple to play.
Is this even possible and if so How can it be achieved?

So after spending money on two 32GB SD HC Cards and the Apple Camera Reader...........I find another solution easier, faster and cheaper.....duh!.
    Video stream!!
It lets you download videos and films to your laptop/mac....it converts them and lets you watch them over wifi (so no storage used on the iPad or iPhone) or lets you load them onto the iPad memory to watch when there is no wifi, and delete afterwards. You can always download again when you get wifi if so desired.
I actually had this on my iPhone and iPad but could never figure how to connect to the server (my laptop). So for those who may have the same trouble.
Down load "Video Stream" from the App store, then go to the Collect3 web site, download server a piece of software for the laptop/mac. Install, enter a password and Boom you connect. Pick the folders you want to stream and you are done.

All of sudden apple tv will not play my tv shows/movies on itunes.  It says "The connected display is not authorized to play protected movies.
Can anyone help  I have just bought alot of movies and tv shows and want to watch them with my family not just on my ipad!!!
Not sure why this has just started happening.  have been using apple tv with my ipad for months and now it comes up with this error...
    THanks

Firstly restart the AppleTV, secondly check the HDMI lead and if possible swap for another or another HDMI input - sounds as though AppleTV thinks the TV is not HDCP capable.

  • Transfer and play movies on ipad mini

I'm not succeeding with this, in spite of following so many different instructions.
First: how do I get videos (my own Quicktime or iMovies, other videos such as MP4, AVI, etc.?
Second: do all videos need to be converted to iTunes m4v format?
Third: is iTunes the only way to play videos/movies? Or is there an equivalent to, say, the good old standard QuickTime?
Fourth: Must I first transfer to iCloud in order to get videos on to the iPad mini? *I ask this because my primary Mac, is my Mac Pro but it is 2007 model and cannot be upgraded to Mt. Lion, hence, cannot fully access iCloud. I did buy Lion and tried upgrading it but it made such a mess of things I went back to Snow Leopard. That said, I did install and still have Lion on my MacBook Pro.
Fifth: Since I do have Lion on my MacBook Pro, I did connect the iPad Mini to it and that is when I began trying all the ways I could find to get movies from my MacBook Pro to the iPad. I even used my WonderShare Video Converter Ultimate for Mac and converted a few videos beforehand to m4v.
Sixth: If I did succeed getting the videos transferred, I cannot tell.
Finally, I began searching the App store for Movie or Video Players for the iPad. I downloaded two, Video Converter App; and Media Player. And I have iTunes on the iPad.
So, can anyone help me with this? How do I play movies on the iPad Mini; how do I figure out if they exist on the iPad (did I succeed in transferring them?)
When I open iTunes, after supposedly transferring a few, all I see are videos to buy. The Purchased button does not help since I did not buy these. I made them on my Mac.
    Thanks for any assistance

    UPDATE:
Umm, I feel pretty silly because I just noticed an App named "Videos" on the iPad dock. When I clicked it, two of the videos I had converted to m4v before trying to transfer, were there, and played.
I never saw this Video app on the dock before. Did something I did in all my aforementioned efforts cause it to download, or was it always there by default, and I somehow overlooked it?
Either way, I'm still not sure which of my efforts did make the transfers work, and what the options are for video types and ways to transfer to iPad. Especially, is there a way to do so using my MacPro (Snow Leopard) since that is where I do all my video work?
    Thanks again
