Connecting 4.5B to ECC 6.0

I am working on a scenario of Connecting 4.5B to ECC 6.0.
I want to make 4.5B system to talk to SLD.
Tcode sldcheck in 4.5B system gives error "t code sldcheck is unknown"
Or is there any other procedure for me to follow.
Please guide me.

I thought of IDoc adapter.
We will be using std idocs and no developement would be necessary (in fact we can get rid of that headache).
We r in Proof Of Concept stage and we have to show the client what could be done.
Here the situation is that,
we have 2 instances of ECC 6.0 one in the US and the other in Kuwait. The remote (Kuwait) will be on and off as there is no internet connection at that place always.
That is the server will be down except for a couple of hours daily.
In this case, what will be consideration criteria for Idoc adapter reg the QOS - EO, EOIO.
There is no question of Sync communication as the remote instance is not available always.

I'm trying to connect to a SAP ECC 6.0 System (SAP IS-U) with Business Objects 3.1 (for example with Crystal Reports). I have installed the SAP RFC SDK on the ECC server and have imported these transport files:
Open SQL reporting objects
InfoSet reporting objects
Row Level Security Tool
Security functions
Cluster Definition Editor
But CR keeps returning this error "You do not have the necessary rights to design reports against the SAP System". I've read a few threads about that problem here. I couldn't find a specific "ABAP transport" - did I miss to import anything else?
Is there any way to check whether the transport files work as they are supposed to? Like the MDX parser connection test for SAP Business Warehouse.
Any other suggestions?

Hi,
I read about these authorization tasks in some other thread, but didn't know what to do.
But now I found the auth. object in the transaction SU21.
Since I cannot edit SAP_ALL I created another profile in transaction PFCG (just in case someone else is still messing with that problem) and added all activities of ZSEGREPORT ans S_RFC.
After that I added the profile to the users in question.
Now everything works like a charm.

Solution
Maintain the entry using the following path:
Call Administrator workbench (transaction RSA1).
From the 'Settings' menu, select Global Settings'.
If an entry already exists in the field "BW user for ALE", delete this.
Enter the correct names for the BW users in this field.
Save the entry.
You must restart the Administrator Workbench (RSA1) now.
The source system can now be linked without errors.

Connect NW 2004s with ECC 5.0

I have a problem, I'm trying to connect the SAP DEV BI System (Netweaver 2004s) to the SAP DEV R3 (ECC 5.0), both RFC are created. All tests are fine between SAP BI System and SAP R3 system, means that my BI system can connect to R3. Anyway, the RFC that connects SAP R3 with SAP BI doesn't work cause an authorization issue.
The user data used is the followin:
User: rfcuser
Type: system
Profiles: S_BI-WHM_RFC, SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW (as suggested in best practices)
While trying to test the RFC connection, the connectivity test is ok, anyway it fails on the authorization test.
Any ideas?

Is it possible that this happens due to the version of SAP_BW in SAP R3 server?. There the SAP_BW 350 0016 SAPKW35016 Business Information Warehouse, while on SAP BI server it is SAP_BW 700 0012 SAPKW70012 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0.

2 BI systems are connected to one SAP ECC-system

I have the following situation: we have one SAP ECC-system, and there is already one BI-system for one company code connected. I would like to connect now a second BI-system for another company code. Both BI-system uses more or less the same infocubes in controlling. I would like to copy all data sources in the ECC, so that I have every datasource twice, one for the first BI-system and 2 for the second BI-system.
I thougth I could use transacioin code ROS2 for this. I created the datasource Z_CO_OM_CCA_1 and would like to use the function module BWOM_RS_GET_CTRCST and the extract structure ICCTRCST like the standard datasource 0CO_OM_CCA_1. During saving I get the error message TABLES-parameter E_T_DATA is missing - what does this mean?
Is there another solution for my problem?
I appreciate any kind of help!

I would recommend to have a, lets say, maximum number of selection fields available and nothing BW-system specific. So as I mentioned before, no need to have the same datasources twice. In case of some, e.g. the logistics datasources, this might also be a enhancement/development that might be totally out of your budget. (Think about the setup tables, the processes to fill them....)

Currently, our ECC is connecting to XI. In Integration Engine config of ECC, role of business system is "Application System". In XI, role is "Integration Server". If we need to add a PI and connect to ECC, what should be done or what is the workaround that can make XI and PI connecting to ECC at the same time?

Thanks for the suggested blog, I need some time to study this. I do not understand why 'standard' integration server is defined as 'Application System'.
I also need to study the limitation of SPROXY on SAP application server refer to only one XI/PI system. May be the issue of my scenario is not just connecting multiple XI/PI to ECC system.
The scenario:
Maximo MEA 6.2 <-> XI 3.0 <--> ECC (current)
Maximo MEA 7.5 <--> PI 7.x <--> ECC (to be added)

Connection BI 7.0 - ECC 5.0

I don't seem to succeed when trying to connect my BI system with my ECC system. I have followed the best practices document "BI Connectivity" step by step, but I still get errors.
When performing a connection test from BI - SM59 I succeed. However, when trying to logon remotely (all parameters are setup) to the ECC, nothing at ll happens.
When performing a connection test from ECC - SM59 I fail ("Error opening an RFC connection"). Also, when attemting to logon remotely to the BI system, I fail ("error opening an RFC connection").
What should be done here? Any ideas?

"What do you mean of login remotely? If your test connection is working fine, it means connection is fine".
There are two test-buttons in SM59 (when openeing a RFC-connection). One is "connection test" and the other is "remote logon".
Connection test returns time for signal routing as it should, but when I try to perform a connection test, nothing happens.
The above goes for SM59 in BI. In ECC, I get error messages when using the same buttons as described above.
What could be wrong?

I'm trying to connect SAP Crystal Report 2013 with SAP ECC but I'm getting below error. I've read some where that We need to install SAP integration kit but SAP BI 4.1 it comes default, also had to install the ABAP cystal report transport - How to do Install this on SAP side -
and on the ECC side we had to develop Crystal Authorization - how to develop this?
Can someone screenshot of these steps and please suggest if something else can be done.

How to trace Logs for WebService connectivity - 3rd Party to ECC

Basically it's a simple scenario, the 3rd party will send a soap request with the information in it and wiill be sent to ECC and be written on a table.
I'm wondering on how to trace logs on the soap request sent from 3rd party to an ECC environment. I used Altova XMLSpy and soapUI and to create a soap request from wsdl created in SOAMANAGER. Both of the software returns a response. Do these both of these software really sends data (soap request) going to the binded address or it's just i simulation that wsdl created is valid.

Hello,
These third party tools send web service requests to SAP system. You can trace Service invocation and download the request and response payloads using SOAMANAGER. In Logs and Trace tab, edit the Trace configuration with suitable trace level and expiration time.

Older CUA version connectivity and functionality with ECC 6.0

Our current Solution manager box, which is used for CUA, is on Netweaver 04 (sap basis 640 patch 16). We are in the process of upgrading to ECC 6.0.
Generally speaking I would recommend having a CUA box at the same level or higher than the child systems. However I'm would like to know if anyone has experience with a similar version scenario as described above. If so what issues did you run into and or other items should I be aware.
Also, ECC has several new system parameters and other password related changes. Can any of the newer password functionality be used if CUA is still on the older version?

Error Connecting to SLD, while CC integration with ECC 6.0

Dear All,
I am using the CC v and from ECC IDES. I cannot connect to the SLD. It is giving an Error.
When I try to register the Server Programs in Vis Admin and click the SET button I am getting an error "Error Adding Bundles". In the ABAP part I am getting the same error of RFC connection.
Now from ECC when I do a SM59, and then goto TCP/IP connections, on creating this connections I cannot make them UNICODE as the R3 system is Non-Unicode. So these dont work.
What am I supposed to do.
Please let me know. This is very urgent and useful replies will be awarded full points.

Replying to this old post hoping for some answers.
We had researched this and converted to Integrated ITS using our ZCATW over a year ago. The notes read that while integrated ITS is a suppoted platform, ESS scenarios for which newer technology exists are no longer supported. We tested ZCATW under ECC5 and decided to move forward because of a pending technical upgrade. We are now in the middle of the technical upgrade and wishing to keep it technical we are trying to keep ZCATW going and then look at the newer components as a seperate project. Has anyone found a way to overcome the above issue in CATW/ECC6?

Connecting to Multiple ECC systems via one Gateway system(Dynamic System Selection)

We have multiple ECC systems and one Gateway server. We want to connect to these different ECC systems using one GW system.
I have created System Aliases for these ECC system in GW system. For a service, i added 2 system aliases.
Now we are looking for the solution where UI can provide the system alias (it wants to connect) as a parameter while calling oData Service.

Hi Rohit,
we have a similar scenario where we have two system aliases for one service. Both aliases point to the same system, but different clients; it should not make a difference though, having different systems. The feature you are looking for is Multiple Origin Composition (MOC).
There are a couple of things you have to consider:
in the SEGW the entity to be called has to be marked as addressable
the URI of the service needs to include the tag for MOC (;mo) --> http://sapgw.domain.org:8000/sap/opu/odata/sap/ZSOME_SERVICE;mo/entityset
Without the ;mo the call will be routed to your default alias. The ;mo will route the call to both systems. Using MOC will generate an additional key property into your entities --> SAP__ORIGIN. The property is the alias. If you want to route to a specific system you have to provide the SAP__ORIGIN like providing normal key properties in your requests.
This will look like this:

Single Portal to connect to multiple back end ECC system

Hi Experts,
I want to connect existing SAP Portal 7.3 to new ECC(ECC EHP 5) System for ESS MSS.
The requirement is that my existing backend system (ECC EHP 5 ) should also exist. i.e. I should able to use current portal to connect to existing SAP ECC System as well as new ECC System with single portal .
Please let me know how it works in ABAP Webdynpro?
Do let me know how this can be achieved ? Is the same portal url be used to access the 2 different backend system for ESS MSS.

for using different backend systems in the same portal, just adapt these systems in your system landscape and define your system aliases in appropriate iViews or write a DSR service.
