Connecting a bridge to the WRTU54G-TM

I am trying to use my t-mobile VOIP router (192.68.0.1) as the primary router and connect a US robotics 5461 as a bridge.  I have copied each one's MAC address on the other's list and had the same channel setting, but I'm not sure of which IP address and subnet information to use for my bridge.  I tried an IP address within the DNS range of the t-mobile and just outside the range, but I still can't establish the bridge properly. Are there other important settings I'm missing?

i always keep my mac address to automatice with my VOIP devices. I dont know maybe that will help.cheapest voipcheapest voip callsOSU Beaversfree voip phone calls

  • How do I use my Airport Express as my router's bridge to the Internet?

    Howdy!
My apartment building recently got wifi.  I want to set up my own wifi network in my apartment so I can connect my MacBook Pro, a wireless printer, and another wifi enabled computer.  I want to be able to print wirelessly, and get on the Internet via the building's wifi, at the same time.  I have an Airport Express (802.11n, 2008 version) and a Rosewill wireless router with 1 WAN port and 4 LAN ports.
I figure there's got to be a way to have the Airport Express in bridge mode, connected to the building's wifi, with an ethernet cable connected to the Rosewill router, which in turn would be the AP for my computers and printer.  Basically this is like a regular Internet-enabled home network, except that instead of the router being connected to a modem to get the Internet connection, it's connected to the Airport-Express-in-bridge-mode (at least I assume that's the mode it should be in for this purpose).
I have searched the web, found some pretty technical explanations, and tried them, but I must be missing something because the Internet connection isn't working.
My building's wifi provider does support wireless gaming adapters (which I'm pretty sure are just bridges), and I've given them the Express's MAC address for this purpose.  The Airport Express shows a green light when set up to join the building wifi network.
    Thanks in advance!

I figure there's got to be a way to have the Airport Express in bridge mode, connected to the building's wifi, with an ethernet cable connected to the Rosewill router, which in turn would be the AP for my computers and printer.
The way to do this would be to configure the Express to "Join a wireless network" and check the option to Enable Ethernet Clients to activate the Ethernet port.
If you fail to enable the Ethernet port, then there will be no signal at the port...and no Internet connection.
Enter the name of the wireless network that you want to join.
The real trick will be to match up the security settings on the Express with the building's WiFi security. Unless the settings match exactly, the Express will not "join" the network....and you will not have an Internet connection. Then enter the password for the wireless network and Verify it again.
Click Update to save the settings.
As I type this, I am connected to the hotel's wireless network with my AirPort Express and have it providing an Ethernet signal to my "new" AirPort Express to deliver a dual band wireless network for the room for multiple wireless devices.
The hotel wireless has somewhat limited bandwidth, (as may your building connection) so a big download from the Internet will be slow. For regular browsing, email, things work just fine.

  • Using the Mac as a wireless Bridge for the Xbox 360

Want to use your Mac essentially as a wireless adapter for an Xbox 360 or any console? plug in the ethernet cable between the two devices and follow the setup process!
    Wireless Bridge setup process
    1. Open system Preferences.
    2. Clisk sharing, then the internet tab and select Airport as the “share your connection from” then select the Built-in Ethernet in the list.
    3. Open up the terminal Application and type ifconfig en0 in the window it sohuld display an outcome like this
    ifconfig en0
    en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
    inet 192.168.2.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.2.255
    ether 00:16:cb:cc:80:aa
    media: autoselect status: inactive
    supported media: autoselect 10baseT/UTP <half-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex,flow-control> 100baseTX <half-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 100baseTX <full-duplex,flow-control> 1000baseT <full-duplex> 1000baseT <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 1000baseT <full-duplex,flow-control> none
    4. This gives you the information of what your computer’s IP address is. On the xbox dashboard in the network setup screen select manual and select the top section which contains the IP address, subnet mask, and Gateway address, for the IP address, input the Highlighted section above plus one, so its 192.168.2.1 (this is for standard configurations, again, just add one to the last digit of your IP address.
    5. Open Airport Admin Utility, the select configure on your airport. Then select the Internet tab This will give you your subnet Mask, input accordingly.
    6. For the Gateway address, you are going to put in the value in the blue box. This is because you are using your Computer as a gateway, therefor you need to tap into its connection.
So For the Average setup you will use:
    IP Address: 192.168.2.2
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway Address: 192.168.2.1
    7. Now for the DNS server, this varies according to What internet service you have, but, Airport admin utility provides the answer, right below the information we used above, you will see DNS Server. viola! Put that in as your primary DNS server in the second box of edit options in the network menu.
Now you should be complete, test the connection and you should be Ready to Go!! Happy Gaming!

    Welcome to the discussions, DanSwiggsD!
If you have a non-Apple device as your main router, unfortunately the AirPort Extreme has almost no chance of compatibility with your main router.
If you do have an Apple router as your main device, please post back with your model number and we'll let you know how your devices should be configured.
If you don't have an Apple device as your main router you have a few options to connect the xbox:
    1) A pair of ethernet powerline adapters could be used if you did not want to run a regular ethernet cable from your main router to the xbox.
    2) The new AirPort Express 802.11n model does have a feature called Proxy STA which should allow it to receive a wireless signal from any wireless router and allow the ethernet port to be enabled.

  • How can i connect home sharing and the control app with 2 IP addresses?

i am using my macbook pro at school and i also take it back home, and when i'm home the home sharing with my iPhone 5's Remote app works perfectly fine, just that when i'm back to res at school it doesn't work for some unknown reason. i've checked everything including the firewall and stuff and itunes home sharing is turned on, i even tried using another home sharing apple id but it still doesn't work. somebody please help!!!
    thanks!

If you use eithernet for your main connection then just plug the TC bridged into the network.
If you use wireless for your internet connection then you can use the TC isolated from the network by ethernet.. but this is really only convenient on a desktop Mac.
The instructions I put in this thread with screenshots.. see near the bottom.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4817218?tstart=30
It is a bit tricky so if you have questions ask back here.
Just to say a USB for firewire external drive is faster and more reliable than a TC.. cheaper to buy as well.. although since you already have the TC that is not a concern.. but you can ebay the TC and buy a bigger and better external drive with the proceeds.

i can connect my tc to the internet and back up my iMac, but it will not back up my mac book pro... ANY thoughts?

When I go to connect my MBP, it says I have the wrong user name and/or password; however the names and password are the same on both computers.
The MBP connects smoothly to the internet, just not the TC.
    Does this help?
There is no login name required to get internet unless you are running a vpn or pppoe client.
The wireless uses a security key.. but that is fixed in the wireless setup.. so no user login should be required at any time.
It sounds to me like you have the wrong setup.
Please do a screen shot and post it of the imac setup that works.. show us the airport network with its ip address and where you are putting in the login.
Please also do a snapshot of the TC and how it is setup.
    What broadband do you have?
Is the TC a router or bridged?

  • How Do I upload from Lightroom and Bridge to the Creative Cloud

How Do I upload from Lightroom and Bridge to the Creative Cloud?

Adobe is still failing on this very important issue!
They said that their Creative Cloud Connection app would be ready in May/June, and here we are in October!
I wish Adobe would learn to not release products that are not ready to be used, my 20GB are useless to me unbtil they do something that integrates Br, Lr, Id & Ps specifically with the cloud. I really think that we should start charging interest for the money that we have been loaning Adobe for their developement process.

  • Bridge forgets the last folder I had open

Bridge forgets the last folder I had open when I restart the computer and PS4/Bridge. What gives?
    Thanks Marv.

Do you have the option checked "start Bridge automatically with startup"? If so disable it.
I don't have CS4 but have read posts where many people are having the same problems you are. Auto start can be a real problem if reading from external drive, as Bridge may start before the computer determines if drive is connected.

  • Cannot connect 2 macbooks to the internet through AEBS?

    Hi,
I have 2 Macbooks, Airport Extreme Base Station & a 320T D-link router. My ISP is plusnet who uses PPPoA settings on the d-link router. So i have set the router up and when i connect it to the Macbooks directly via ethernet i can access the internet. But once i connect the d-link router to my AEBS i cannot connect to the internet? Both Macbooks can see the base station but they cannot access the basestation. If i put the base station in bridge mode the light will go green and one can connect to the internet but obviously i want both to connect! I am unable to put the d-link router in bridge mode as my ISP does not support this as the router will only work on the PPPoA settings to retrieve the IP's etc from Plusnet. I have spent countless hours on the phone to apple and changing settings but to no success. I have spent more money to buy the d-link router as i had a netgear D111MP router previously but i read that it was a poor product to go with the AEBS. So the issue does not lie with the router?
If anyone can help i would appreciate it so much as this has become so frustrating!
    Many thanks!!

Thanks Duanne, problem is that i have bought the netgear DM111P and the d-link 320T and found out that they cannot work for some reason. So i have spent £70 on both modems/routers plus the £119 on the AEBS. It's just a bit annoying when i have spent a lot of time and money on something which i was hoping would be as simple to set up as all the other apple products.
By the way i'm not having a go even though it sounds like it! The main thing on my mind is to get my AEBS working. Would it be possible to advise me on a router that will work well with my AEBS to solve this issue i am having? Also one that can use the PPPoA settings from my ISP? This would be greatly appreciated as i don't want to go out and buy another router and find out it doesn't work.
Also if i get a router that can do this what would be the setup of my AEBS?
Thank you for your time on this!

  • Ethernet port as a bridge to the wireless network

*Is it possible to use an Ethernet port in MacBook as a bridge to the wireless network* and connect another device to it that will have access not only to the Internet, but also to other services, eg. files on another computer connected to the network wirelessly.

The short answer, would be Yes.
The longer answer requires setting up the computer in the correct
way to do so; and hope that any advice to going there was followed.
And knowing more about your hardware situation may yield better
or easier answers; a better solution to using all the computers.
You can share a network connection through use of settings in the
appropriate System Preferences panels. Other sharing preferences
would probably have to be checked and if necessary, changed.
I never change anything that just works, without good reason, and
so far, since I have no need to share between my computers by wire
or wireless, I have not done so. I do have files on external hard drives
and on USB Flash Drives, and can put stuff on CD & DVD media.
Given that, I don't network my computers over AirPort, Ethernet, or
by FireWire, etc. But others here do. Your HelpViewer in the Mac
can tell you how to network or share internet over ethernet, etc.
More information on your situation is needed to propose answers.
PS: Information you posted in another location would be relevant to
getting a reply here, too... in reference to this post:

  • I can not make a wireless bridge in the band 2.4 Linksys wrt1900ac

I can not make a wireless bridge in the band 2.4 I make the same settings on band 5 and runs perfect

I'd check to see if the 1900AC can bridge two WiFi connections at the same time. It may only beable to bridge one or the other radio at a time. I know that with the 5Ghz radio is bridged on the 1900AC, the 2.4Ghz radio is running and working as a wireless AP.

  • Connecting Half Bridge I Config with SCXI 1520 and 1314

Hi! I'm using Half Bridge -I Configuration with SCXI 1520 and 1314, but the diagrams in the SCXI-1520 manual are not very comprehensible to me. Three questions:
    1) Is it "necessary" to connect SCx terminals?
    2) If yes, why is there no lead resistance "RL" shown?
    3) Are one end each of two strain gauges to be shorted externally, or wired all the way upto SCXI-1340?
If u can also post a drawing with actual leads and gauges shown, it will be great.
These questions may seem trivial, but I'm just starting with strain measurement so...
    Thanks
    Rajat

    Rajat,
If you are wanting to perform a shunt calibration on your strain gauges then the SCA terminals will need to be connected. The reason that no lead resistance (RL) is shown is that the resistance of those leads will not be affecting the reading you are taking. Lead resistances only need to be considered when they are part of the wheatstone bridge.
The strain gauges are R3 and R4 in figure 2-3 on page 2-7 of the SCXI-1520 User Manual (linked below). One side of the strain gauges should be connected to each other, then the other side of the strain gauges need to be connected to P+ and P-. Only connections to the right of the 1314 terminal block (in figure 2-3) are connections you will need to make. I hope this helps.

  • Share Connection or Bridge Mode?

Hi - I recently got a 1TB Time Capsule to hook with my Verizon DSL modem. My modem is set up using PPPoE with username/password. The past week I had it set up as to Share Connection. What's the different between Share Connection and Bridge Mode in TC? My modem does DHCP and distribute IP addresses. The only problem I saw was when I set up TC to do the share IP addresses, I got the Double NAT error.
So my real question is: with Verizon DSL modem, should I use Share Connection or use TC in Bridge Mode?

After much confusion with Verizon's Tech Support, I finally gave up and canceled my DSL and went with Comcast - which made things so much easier. Once I reset the TC and got Comcast hooked up, I was up and running. I'm sending the modem/router back to Verizon. Thanks for answering my post - I'll remember that.

I believe that it is in AirPort Express, and would have to clean it. How do you do that?

You need to use the Express in router mode.. I think you are trying to use it in bridge mode.. but you need to give us a lot more details.. screenshots might help more than anything.
