Connecting a Creative Inspire t 5400 5.1 system as stereo

I'm trying to make it work as 2.1, with only the subwoofer and two speakers working. Is it possible?

Hi,
If you are trying to connect the Inspire T5400 to a stereo source, you can just leave out the Orange and Black connectors when you hook up the Triple Stereo Line-In cable (this 3 by 3 cable should be included along with speakers system). Note that leaving out the Orange and Black connectors loses the Center speaker, Subwoofer and Rear speakers.

  • Problems setting up a Creative Inspire 5500 Digital 5.1 System

Hello! I've had a problem ever since i've owned my Inspire 5500 Digital system whereby I havent had any functionality from the decoder at all. I have only managed toget it working with my pc however the sound played fine (after a lot of tweaking using the Creative software bundled with my soundcard) however I havent been able to connect any other devices to it, they just dont work! Even playing music on the pc, I cant use the decoder volume control etc. Therefore my dillema is as follows, I have recently built a brand new pc and want to reconnect the Inspire's (correctly this time!), I have the following soundcard: X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Soundcard with the following outputs on the back of the card:
    Line Out (Green)Line Out 2 (Black)Line Out 3 (Orange)Optical
Below is a breakdown of inputs/outputs of the Inspire 5500 Digital hardware: Decoder Audio Outputs Front (Green hole)Rear (Black hole)Center/subwoofer (orange hole) Decoder Audio Inputs Analog Line In CoaxialOptical Other Sockets DIN Now im going to list whats on the back of the subwoofer: Power Supply4 pin AC power input Satellite Speakers Inputs Front left socket for front left speaker Front right socket for front right speakerRear left socket for rear left speakerRear right socket for rear right speakerCenter socket for centre speaker Audio Inputs Front (Green)Black (Rear)Orange (Centre/subwoofer) Other SocketsDIN Now im going to list the leads that I have that came with the set (so in theory there should be sufficient equipment to get decoder functionality): x 4 Pin Mains lead x Line In Cable with the three heads on each end (green, Black and Orange) x DIN Cable x Optical Cable(Obviously all the satellite speakers have their own leads that plug into the corresponding ports on the back of the subwoofer) The last set up, I had the following:
The 4 pin mains lead plugged into the back of the subwoofer (this is correct as this is the only mains input)
Satellites connections into their corresponding holes
The DIN lead connected the woofer to the decoder
the Line-In lead ran from my soundcard to the back of the decoder
Where can I possibly be going wrong? The decoder powered up and played pc music however I couldnt control the volume from the decoder. I tried connecting my ps2 (with optical out enabled in the ps2 settings) with an optical lead running from the back of my ps2 into the optical input on the back of the decoder but it didnt work either!
If anyone could please help and give me a step by step guide to simply putting the right wires in the right places, that would be fantastic. Its really doing my head in!!
    Thanks again!

Try connecting Your three connections fom your sound card (green/black /orange) directly into your subwoofer inputs (green/black/orange), then, of course, your five speakers into the appropriate outputs on your subwoofer. I have the same setup except, I am using the X-FI Elite Pro which has a built in decoder, and I believe yours does too. Now, you can also look at the top of this page and click on "support". then choose "product documentation", then go through the product finder, then click on the download link, and after agreeing to the terms, choose to save the download to a location of your choice on your hard dri've. now if you just click to open the file it might not load properly, so just in case, right click the folder, and choose "Properties", and on the "general" tab click the tab at the bottom that says "Unblock" button, then click OK, this manual will give you every detailed way?to hook up your speaker system. I hope this helped. Good luck!

  • Asus A8N-E onboard Realtek AC97 and Creative Inspire P5800's

I am attempting to connect some creative inspire p5800 speakers to the realtek AC97 audio on my A8N-E. But when I run the connector sensing it senses the jack i have plugged into the lime/green socket as stereo line in. In the speaker configuration the lime/green socket is identified as Front speaker out. The jack at the other end of the lead is plugged into the correct socket on the subwoofer. The rear and center speakers work fine.Any ideas would be greatly appreciatedThanks

well there jason, since you asked, there are some of us who have the P7800 where there are four plugs on the side of the speakers and only three plugs on the computer side with asus mother board needing four. The only way around it is to disconnect the grey plug which is the bass and side speakers and bootleg to the bass which isn't how it is supposed to work.

  • Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 Problems - Only Two Speakers Work 100%

I recently purchased the Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 speaker system for my home computer, thinking that a low-end setup would work fine until I gathered the resources to trade them in for something better. Upon hooking them up though I find that they do not work as I was led to believe. The front two corner speakers and subwoofer work fine, just as they would if they were a 2.1 setup, however the center and back speakers make no noise. I know I have them hooked up correctly as I can go into my onboard soundcard?s setup program and test them individually, but in actually practice they do nothing. Not with games or movies that are supposedly 5.1 enabled.
I'm clueless as to what the problem may be. Is it that I need a Creative brand soundcard, that may Abit motherboard and it'ss built-in soundcard are unable to establish the proper frequencies or whatnot? Perhaps I do not have the appropriate surround sound drivers installed? Any help would be vastly appreciated.

    DevNull7,
You may need to enable certain settings within your sound card to upmix the Stereo to 5.1. Check with your sound card support for further information. They should be able to assit you on this.

  • Connecting Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers to DVD player

    Hi,
I have a LG DVD Player (DSI 8352) which gives 5.1 home theatre (dolby decoder) output.
If I buy Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers (5200 or 5700), how do I connect them ? Through RCA Stereo cables ? Would there be any compatibility issues ?
Please suggest the 5.1 speakers that would suit my requirement (no decoder / only amplifier) ..
Plz reply back to [email protected]
    Thanks,Sambath

Creative offers many speaker systems that will fit your needs, without decoder.
You mentioned the Inspire 5700 system; this system comes with a decoder/amplifier, and wouldnt actually be what you'r looking for.
If your looking for awesome sound-quality, and good power, I can recommend the 5.1 Megaworks system, though this system can get quite expensive, you'll get what you pay for.
The megaworks (like "all" other creative speaker systems, got a built in amplifier in the subwoofer, where you connect all the speakers.)
To connect the speakers to the DVD-player, you connect the multichannel output on the DVD-player, to the multichannel input on the back of the subwoofer. (three stereo minijack inputs.)
You may need some RCA-to-minijack adapters, so that the multichannel audio cable that comes with the megaworks, will fit on your DVD-players output.

  • Creative Inspire T900 problem, just 2 front speakers work when connect to a laptop

    Hi everybody,
I have just bought a Creative Inspire T7900 system, it's in good quality I think.
But I just got a laptop without 5.1/6.1 or 7/ sound card ( one output only ), therefore i cannot use the 7.1 Audio Cable.
I tried to use a stereo-to-stereo cable to connect my laptop to the input in the wired remote but only the front satellite speakers work. Is that a problem with the Wired Remote ? Or the problem with the system ?
Can I laptop use all the speakers ?
Please help me, thank you very much.

    thanhvtd86,
There isn't any problem with the speaker system nor your laptop and it's normal. Stereo consists of only 2 channel and that's why you are experiencing output from only the two front speaker. You won't be able to utilize the full capability of the speaker if you don't have a 7.1 capable soundcard.

  • Creative Inspire T7900 - Connect to Macbook Pro

    Hey Guys!
A long time ago I got a Inspire T7900 7.1 Soundsystem I found It again in the seller and I wanted to install it. I realized that there is no connectivity possibility. Well I could connect over the control device of the soundsystem by a chinch cable but only the 2 frontspeakers work. (Over the device)
On the bottom of this page (http://www.xsreviews.co.uk/reviews/other-products/creative-inspire-t7900/2) you can see the connectivity cable.
    Quote:
"Annoyingly the connectors for use with your computer are the multi-pole type, with the center/sub (orange) and rear (black) each with 4 separate strips rather than the usual 3 strips. This means that you only have to connect 3 plugs (orange, green and black), rather than 4 (orange, green, black and grey) to drive the 7.1 system. However, not even Creative’s own X-Fi cards support this feature fully so you’d be better off with another cable (4 plugs to 4 plugs, rather than 4 plugs to 3 plugs). The system will work without multi-pole support but it’ll resort to 5.1 rather than full 7.1 or even 6.1. For the sake of an extra cable, Creative has made the wrong choice, especially considering as I’m yet to see a motherboard that has multi-pole over the additional grey plug.
Unlike higher-end systems, you won't get an optical or coaxial inputs meaning that the your SPDIF port will be left unused."
Is there maybe an adapter from the 3 to one of the macbook ports. If this should not work is there like a external soundcard you can put the 3 cables in and connect to my Macbook.
Thank you in advance for your help

Hey! I'm in exactly the same situation, so I wondered if you've found some kind of solution already?

  • How to connect SB X-FI XTREME MUSIC with Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5

    Hi,
I want to know what I have to do to connect my x-fi xtreme music with my creative inspire 5. digital 5700 due to listen music with all? 5 twiters. I have windows vista ultimate 32bits. Thanks!?JoanMessage Edited by joanantoni on 07-9-200703:54 AM

With your Inspire 5. Digital 5700, your best bet is?using the analog Front and Rear input connections on the decoder and connect them to the X-Fi Xtreme Music front (Line Out )?and rear (Line?Out 2)?output connections and then enable CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Mode on your Digital 5700 decoder which will then give you a 4./5. Upmix. Gi'ven that you don't have a Center connection on the the Inspire 5. Digital 5700, no connection can made to the your Front Center satelite speaker/Subwoofer (Line Out 3) on your X-Fi Xtreme Music card. I'm led to understand that Creative speaker systems do not need Bass Redirection to reproduce proper Bass frequencies on your Subwoofer and not on your satelite speakers but you may want to test this simply enabling and disabling Bass Redirection, on your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card, to your own personal taste. Alternately, you can concurrently connect your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 via the Coxial Digital/PCM Input to the FlexiJack input/output jack on the X-Fi Xtreme Music and then enable Digital I/O mode for the FlexiJack in the Audio Console found in the Windows Control Panel or?in the Entertainment Mode or Game Mode Consoles. Unfortunately the FlexiJack only provides a 2 conductor connection therefore it only supports 2. Speaker system connections?therefore you will still have to enable the CMSS Music or CMSS Movie Modes on your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 decoder to produce a 4./5. sound upmix. Sadly, no optical connection can be made between your Inspire 5. Digital 5700 and your X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card without the installation of the X-Fi I/O Dri've or X-Fi I/O Console at, of course, additional expense. From my standpoint, the X-Fi I/O Dri've is a good value given the number of external inputs and outputs in offers. Again, it's a matter of what your personal connection requirements are and budget. Hope this hel
    ps.

  • Creative Inspire T6100 Connection Problem ...

    Hi,
I have just purchased the Creative Inspire T6100 and intended on using them for my Laptop, I am not so good with technology but I bought these speakers purely because of the good reviews it had.
The PROBLEM I have is that when I connect the 3 wires i.e. Black, Green and Orange , I only have space for one headphone jack on my Laptop as a result sound only comes through two of the fi've speakers. I realize that all 3 headphone jacks must be plugged into my laptop, but I simply do not know where to place the other two.
Therefore I was wandering is there some sort of device which would allow me to connect those 3 wires into my laptop. Perhaps some sort of 3 to converter
(Please remember I am a complete Novice on technology)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank You

Hi Freddy I read your problem , here I have a solution for you . If you are using your motherboards existing inbuilt sound card then you arerequired to check the balance level. to check balance level. to check the balance you please click on start > control pannel > then click on " sound & audio devices"? In this menu click on " Advance" here you will found balance level of both master volume & wave . checkbalance sould be at center level. secondly go into your cards application software and select 5.1 or 6.1 speakers,to check the sound take a headphone and attach each output of sound card if sound is coming both channels then it meanssound card is ok. Check your T6060 speakers audio leads should be fully Inserted into sound cards socket. If your are using creative sound card then set it to factory default setting and check the problem will be automaticaly solved. Creative T6060 speakers are 5.1 speakers & it requires proper sound card . It is recomended to install creative Sound blaster5.1 or Creative Audigy Value sound card for exelent performance. • Creative Inspire 4.1 connected to AC97 onboard?

I was wondering if it is possible to use the Creative Inspire 4.1 or any of the Inspire series for that matter with the KT3 Ultra? ?(

Actually you are incorrect in your statement. I can enable all 6 channels via soundman. Thanks for the help works like a champ. :D the S-Bracket method is optional of course. I guess maybe you are right in a sense. However, not the only way to enable the rear channel.

  • What do I need to connect my Creative T6200 5.1 speakers to my Macbook Pro 15"?

    Hello all,
I have made the best move last year from windows to mac and will never go back.
I have a 15" Macbook Pro, and I used to have a tower computer with a sound card.
My old speakers were pretty good for what I needed - Creative Inspire T6200 5.1.
I was wondering how is the best way if possible to connect them to my macbook so they fuction like a a pair of laptop UBS speakers?
Do I need an adapter to convert the audio imput wires to USB, or somthing else?
Also where can I find one that will deffo work?
The speakers have three audio imput wires; black, orange, green. And a pink connection for the remote control. They used to slot into the back of my tower into the sound card and they worked just fine diddilydo.
    The speakers info - http://in.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=789&product=1 7987
Ive wirtted this out very simply and tried not to keep it techie as Im just after a simple solution.

Mac's  pass through 5.1 through a stereo mini-toslink that also doubles as a analog stereo output.
You use a stereo mini to standard toslink optical cable to a home stereo 5.1 system/reciever that does the 5.1 processing there and outputs to speakers that way.
There is no 5.1 processing on the Mac and it can't use those speakers or power them, those are for PC towers with a sound card that prcesses 5.1 from games etc. and also can drive the seperate speakers sending the appropriate channel down each wire to each speaker.
If you want 5.1 surround sound, whatever software your using will have to pass the combined digital signal out the optical port in recognized formats like Dolby, etc and your matching 5.1 surround sound system will have to be able to decode the 5.1 format and send the signals to each speaker.
So your looking at buying a home theather system now for a few thousand dollars.
Perhaps a Harmon Kardon BDS 770 or something.

  • Help setting up Creative Inspire T6100 (5.1) to HP Laptop

Hi I recently bought Creative Inspire T600 (5.) speakers. I am unable to connect this to my HP DV6T laptop having only one input for speakers where as creative t600 has 3 pins in black, orange and green colors. I am stuck here. Could anyone please tell me how to connect the 5. speakers to my laptop? Appreciate your help.
    Arun.K.S

Not really 100% sure (I only have a Creative T3030 2.1 that has a single 3.5mm jack) but from everything that I Googled, it looks like a stereo 3.5mm to RCA adapter and a Logitech 5.1 Game Console Adapter should work.

But to be safe, it might be best to check with Creative and see what they recommend for connecting it to the iMac.

  • Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers problem

Hello. I have Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers with SB Audigy Live! 24-bit installed Sound Card (it supports up to 7.1 speakers). Also I have Stereo Surround CMSS 3D settings (EAX)enabled. However when I'm listening to music or playing games my Rear Left speaker makes no sound. Before I had problem that Rear Right wasn't working (however rear left and right sound was on rear left speaker), but after replugging Rear Left doesn't work. Any ideas what might be the problem?
    Thanks for reading...
EDIT:: I tried changing Rear Left and Rear Right speakers with each other in Subwoofer (where it connects) and Rear Left is working properly.

Hi all do you have any idea to solve my problem?
Currently, I'm using the P5800. My problem is sub can't working. I fix together with SB24Bit External sound card.Previously is working. I'm very proud with the sound, after I decrease the master volume and bass level volume my sub suddenly quit.what happened actually?
-Is that mean I need to change the sub speaker or the coil inside the magnet core is burned?
-or maybe my component circuit like ic,capacitor, diode burned?
If I plug n unplug the power to the sub,I can heard that 'bump'. Is that mean my circuit in good condition or maybe the charge and discharge for capacitor?
    Please answer me...
    Thank You
