Connecting a form with a report

Hi,
I have created a report page with two tables 'A' and 'B' , with ID as primary key for A and ID is foreign key for B . There is an edit link in each row of the report. When we click on that edit link it will be redirected to a form page which is based on only one of those table(as i cannot select both table) , ie B .
Problem is that the form is not auto populated with the value of the row in which i clicked the edit button.
Please give some Idea.
Thanks

This could be for a number of reasons that would be hard to identify without a simple example replicated on apex.oracle.com
Run the create page wizard through Form, Form on Table with Report - and you should receive two pages doing just this. Also compare to Sample application.

  • Cascade lov in a "form with a report"

I am fairly new to HTMLDB and struggling with this one. Can anyone help?
I have built a test application that uses a form with report, created using the wizard. On the form I have cascaded LOVs( SITEOWNER and SITE) . The second LOV should depend on the first in that only the sites belonging to the siteowner in the first LOV should be available for selection. I cannot get this to work. I have tried to use "select list" on bothe LOVs but in this case the second LOV is blank. I have also tried "select list with submit" and trap the submit with REQUEST != expression1 as described in some of the posts in this forum, but cannot stop the form from branching.
Any help will be welcome !. My test application is at the Oracle HTMLDB site.

    Hi,
If you edit your report region there in the report attributes you will be finding the "Link Column" Section.
Under the link column section you will be referring the pencil icon image and target page number in the application.

  • Form with a report?

I have a form. When the user fills in the information, then click on the Create button, I like to have the form reset and the data displayed at the bottom. Every time the user fills in the info and click on Create, whatever the user just typed, the data just accumulates at the bottom to show another row of data that he filled out. The following shows at the bottom of the form the 3 set of data the user filled out after the create button is clicked 3 times.
    A..............B...........C.............D
    1...bun......burger.....tomato....bun
    2...bun......hot dog...mustard...bun
    3...bread...meat.......lettuce.....bread
The data not only is seen at the bottom of the form but it also populates the table after the create button is clicked.
Only when the user click Cancel does this form with report at the bottom goes to the designated page, usually page 1.
So the question is how can I have only the data the user inputed, displayed from the created button until the cancel button is clicked.

This could be for a number of reasons that would be hard to identify without a simple example replicated on apex.oracle.com

  • Connect Pdf Form with Air Sqllite data

Hi, i would like to save my Pdf Form localy but i know about restrictions of 500 users (legal notes after giving advanced user permission).
I thought about do it in air which could have my pdf form inside. I thought that people after filling form with data could save it localy by connecting PDF Form (embed in air) with Air database. So people could save it offline and fill rest form date f.e. after few days to complete it later.
I don`t know any more option to save my form data localy (offline) without installing localhost database. Air installing is simple but i don`t know how should i start.
Please tell me how can i connect my PDF Form with Air database?
EDIT:Do you have any tutorials of that?

I read also about JavaScript method of sending data from PDF form to AIR with using PostMessage (communicate throw JavaScript & HTML Object embed). Now i don`t know is there more easy way to communicate with SQL lite Air local database than using PostMessage command (more direct as setting up File>New Connection>OLEDB Database in Livecycle Designer)?

  • Problem connecting to salesforce with crystal reports

I have downloaded the java Java SE Development Kit 6u7 (First Customer Ship) and then downloaded crystal reports. Every time I try to connect to saleforce via CR it takes about 10 minutes and then I get this error message: invalid argument provided, java server startup failure, verify the path (jdk), classpath, and IORfilelocation in the crconfig.xml file, In addition verify you are using JDK 1.5
What can I do to solve this problem? Please help me! Thank you

    Fahad,
I do not think you need to reinstall the CR application, but I would suggest to apply the following knowledgebase article steps. Couple of comments: 1. you do not have to delete CRConfig.xml on the second step - just rename it to CRConfig.old   2. You do not have to download new driver - you already have one, just reinstall it.
1197347 - Error: "Invalid Argument provided. Details: Java Server startup failure.."
when connecting to Salesforce.com from Crystal Reports XI
    Symptom
When attempting to connect to a valid Salesforce.com professional account from Crystal Reports XI, the following error message appears:
"Invalid Argument provided. Details: Java Server startup failure. Please verify the PATH (JDK), CLASSPATH and IORFileLocation properties in the CRConfig.xml file. In addition, please verify you are using JDK 1.4."
    Cause
The error message is caused by an older version of the Crystal Reports Salesforce.com driver not connecting with professional accounts. Other error messages may include "Failed to establish a connection."
    Resolution
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
    Close Crystal Reports.
Verify that you have at least version 1.4 of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) by opening Internet Explorer and clicking on Tools > Sun Java Console. If the Java Console Message says "Java Plug-in 1.4.0_00. Using JRE version 1.4.0_00 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM" or higher you are using the correct version of the JRE.
Go to the appropriate directory for your version of CRXI and back up the CRConfig.xml file, then delete it.
If you are using CRXI R1, the directory will be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\Java, and if you are using CRXI R2 the directory will be C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\Java.
Reopen Crystal Reports; CR will recreate the CRConfig.xml file when you reopen the program. When the "Installing" message box disappears, close CR.
Search for sfdc.msi on your computer. This is the installation file for the Salesforce.com driver. When you double-click this installation file, you will be asked whether you want to repair or uninstall the Salesforce.com driver. Uninstall the driver. Delete all existing sfdc.zip files or unzipped sfdc files and directories including the sfdc.msi file you just executed.
Download the latest version of the Crystal Reports Salesforce.com driver, available from http://ftp1.businessobjects.com/outgoing/sales/sfdc_driver.zip. Unzip the zipfile to a convenient temporary location that you will be able to find; for example, your desktop.
Run the new sfdc.msi installation file; the installation file will install the latest version of the Salesforce.com drivers.
You should now be able to connect with Salesforce.com from CRXI using a valid username and password.

  • Error when connecting Adobe Form with PayPal

We are trying to integrate an Adobe Form into a PayPal purchase so that after a customer has purchased something, they are directed to a form to enter some personlization information.  However, it seems that the link is getting changed in the process as you get this message when you click on the redirect link:  an error has occurred.
The form does not exist. Please re-enter the web address as the link may be misspelled.
The form exists and this is the link: https://adobeformscentral.com/?f=EL-oB4MmM1PfLdRv4RBmEQ
It works fine when used alone but we really need it to work in combination with the PayPal.  It is for the purchase of pawprint ornaments and can be found at http://www.humanesocietyofmarlboro.org/
Pleae let us know how we can get this resolved.  We need it working ASAP.
    Thanks,
    Terasa

    Hi;
Where is it that you have a re-direct link to the form from that Paypal purchase process?  I would double check that you copy/paste the entire link properly and look at the re-direct to make sure it is going to the entire URL and not modifying it or stripping part of it.
Are you aware that you can do the Paypal payment process through the FormsCentral form?  https://www.acrobat.com/formscentral/en/video-index/paypal-integration-setup.html
    Thanks,

  • Connectivity of Websphere with Oracle reports running on Oracle 9i AS

How can we connect to Oracle Reports services and in turn generate reports; by accessing it from an application running in websphere, which is running on different machine in the same network. Our environment is such that we are forced to use these two application servers.

we're currently looking at building the reports j2ee thin client for ibm websphere - however do not have a scheduled date for this. you can see if the j2ee thin client meets your requirements by looking at the doc for it for the bea client:

is something like this for websphere what you are looking for?

  • Master Detail Form with Report - Referring a column in another table

I have master detail form with a report option. The master table has a column that also references a look up table.
When the report is displayed the lookup column id is displayed. Rather I want to get the look-up value from a lookup table
    and display in the report.
When I see the report region Query definition , it just has the columns to add/remove only from the master table.
Could you pls help me with this regard.
    Eg :
    Dept Table
    dept_id
    dept_name
    location_id
    Employee Table
    employee_id
    employee_name
    dept_id
    location
    location_id_id
    location_name
Master is Dept, Detail is dept and lookup table is location.

Simply add the lookup table to the FROM clause and join its PK with the FK in the master table in your query. That's basic SQL, and you definitely must get a good grasp of SQL to do more than very basic work in APEX.
For a good example, please see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/appdev.310/e10498/build_app.htm#BCEBJJGB
While you're at it, read and implement the tasks outlined in the 2 Day + Application Express Developer's Guide - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/appdev.310/e10498/toc.htm. After that, read the "Oracle Application Express 3.0-- Building a Functional Application" OBE in http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/apex/obe30/apexdev30.htm - great stuff.
