Connecting a PS3 (through HDMI) to a Thunderbolt connection!

I know there are many products available to provide an input to a MiniDisplayPort, but none seem to be combatiable with thunderbolt! Is there anything or anyone that can help me?

Can I boot into a PC laptop on an iMac using Bootcamp through a eSATA to Thunderbolt connection?  Work forces you to use their computers, but it would be nice to use an iMac and extra displays while at home.

Set up a VNC connection between the computers.

Hi, I have recently bought an LED and connecting my laptop through HDMI to LED choppy sound??

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You must restore from a computer.
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

  • Can I connect imac to HDMI and also Surround sound also through HDMI using the thunderbolt sockets via an adaptor into a HDMI?

I want to be able to connect my imac to my TV and Surround Sound, from what I have read the best want of doing this is both via HDMI. Before I go out and buy another adaptor for a second thunderbolt to HDMI I was wondering if this would work? I basically I want to be able to stream videos from Imac to TV with sound coming through surround sound and also when I am on itunes have the music come through the surround sound. At the moment I have an adaptor (thunderbolt to HDMI) which goes into the TV and a optical cable from TV into the surround sound, then I also have a 3.5mm from the imac to the Surround sound, but I find this lacks in quailty. Would upgrading to a HDMI work and be better ? Should I also look into an optical cable though I dont see how to connect this to the imac?

OK. From what I can tell here, the Sony HT-SF2000 has 3 HDMI inputs & one HDMI output, so the simplest hookup would be to connect the iMac to one of the the Sony's HDMI inputs via the Thunderbolt-HDMI adaptor, & connect the Sony's HDMI output to the TV's HDMI input.
Use the Sony like an HDMI input selector for the TV (plugging in your other HDMI devices, if any, to it). Use the HDMI input on it from the iMac for both movie & iTunes sound output, & for TV output for video. (You can even use the TV as a second screen for the iMac.)
If for some reason you want a separate input for the iMac's sound output, you can use the optical input on the Sony for that, with a TOSLINK cable connection to the iMac. You will need either a Mini-TOSLINK adaptor or a TOSLINK to mini-TOSLINK cable to connect to the audio output of the iMac.

  • HT4241 My TV won't recognize that my MacBook Pro is connected through HDMI - How do I connect the two?

I have a Macbook Pro with Retina display and after I connect the tv with my computer through the HDMI my tv just reads no sync. Is there another step I am missing?

  • Pavilion dv6 connecting to tv through hdmi

    Hi
When I connect my notebook to my Sharp Led TV to watch a HD movie the picture stutters on the tv but is perfect on the laptop.  Could it be the HDMI cable? or do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks
    Wes

    Hiya,
Can you explain shutter and when do you experience this issue? WHen watching content or when it's on the desktop?
Have you tried just showing the image on the TV only? F4 then select Projector Only
Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

  • Sharing MacBook Pro's Airport internet connection with PS3 through Ethernet

    Can this happen?
Tried several times and the connection seems to fail every time.
    Any ideas?

In OSX I haven't got my iPod touch to do diddly squat, but it does work in Bootcamp XP, although in an odd way. If no activity in about 10 seconds the next time you enter a web address or something into the iPod Touch it seems to take awhile to re-enable the connection, but other than that it works rather dependably.
    My setup:
Macbook Pro 2.4 Ghz used with Sprint EX720 Expresscard used in Bootcamp with Windows XP. Now I bought my God Daughter a touch iPod the same day I bought mine and it appeared that hers worked in OSX. I will get with her hopefully this evening to confirm this. If it is true I may try exchanging mine, since both were bought only a few days ago.
I spend more of my leisure time in XP anyway, just wish it wouldn't - oh wait, here's another thing; if my Powerbook is sharing the wireless connection from my Macbook Pro, which is in Windows, there is absolutely no pausing and the iPod Touch works like a charm. So evidently it is the iPod which is breaking the connection when no other device is using it; I notice it searches for new connections every 10 seconds (if you watch that little spinning ball icon which appears every ten in Settings/WiFi networks in the iPod display. Maybe someone has some clues as to what's going on there. Is there a way to set up a ping or something OR stop it from searching for new connections to keep the MBP connection active?

  • Can not Connect Playstation3 (PS3) to my touchsmart 520-1137d

Excuse me, this is my first time posting here. I bought the TS 520-1137d, with Windows 7 Premium 64 bit,  about two weeks ago. It has HDMI input port, or that what i thought it would be. I tried to connect my PS3 with HDMI Cable using the HDMI input port, but nothing happened. I already tried the solution in http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03058558 , but when i push the Menu button, nothing happened. There is no AV button on my Remote Control either. I then tried to connect my netbook wich has HDMI output port, and connect it to the Touchsmart, still nothing happened. There is no Error Message. I dont remember ever having changed something before i tried to connect the HDMI.
I already confirmed that my HDMI cable, PS3, and netbook all works just fine when i connected them to my TV.
Is there any driver ineed to download for this problem, or it is just my unit?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Thank you for your response, but unfortunately that's not the case. I also already tried to connect my touchsmart to TV but  nothing shows up. Best Regards.

  • No audio / video through hdmi from vista home premium

    dear friends
am using dv6000 with vista home premium
trying to connect tv output through hdmi but unable to show show either audio or video
with the same cable, i tried in diff laptop and it works fine
    pls advise me
i have my windows and all drivers updated

When you run Lenovo driver installer downloads, the drivers are not installed. This is normal (!). The drivers are unpacked into a directory on your disk, usually under C:\DRIVERS. You have to follow the installation instructions (on the same page you downloaded from). Usually they say go to the directory where the drivers were unpacked and run setup.exe, but not always, so you have to pay attention if you choose to install the drivers this way.
The simplest way out of your situation is to manually install the Ethernet drivers, plug into the Internet, then download and install ThinkVantage System Update, and run it. It should churn away and automatically install all the right stuff.
Whether you choose to install the ThinkVantage stuff manually or automatically using System Update is up to you.
BTW it sounds like you MAY have blown away the Lenovo Rescue & Recovery partition when doing your "upgrade". If you did, and you want to get that back, you will need to call Lenovo for a recovery DVD, and start from scratch.

  • 27" Cinema display goes black, connected to Mid 2011 iMac w/thunderbolt connections.

I bought a used 27" Cinema Display (A1316) and had it connected to my Mid 2011 iMac with thunderbolt connections.  The screen goes black but I can still get audio through its speakers.  Do I need to replace the cable bundle?  Help please!

    Hi levifromhenderson,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like trouble with an external display. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

is it possible to connect to monitors without using the thunderbolt connection.
I want to keep the thunderbolt connection for a fast external hard drive in the future.
If it's not possible do you think it will be possible with the new 2013 Mini when it arrives?

    No

  • Huge apple fan, have thousands invested in stock and products. I'm deployed and I want to know a way to play my PS3 through the thunderbolt connector to HDMI? is there any software to support this?

I would like to start off by saying, that I'm a huge apple fan, even own 8 shares. I have everytihing apple, from multiple phones, two ipads, macbook air, macbook pro, time machine, and 2 apple tv's. So, I easliy have invested enough for a reponse. But, I'm really frustrated right now because I'm deployed and I would love nothing more than to be able to play my PS3 on my macbook pro. I know that this would be easily possible if mac devoted a week to a solution. Or maybe there is already software that would allow me to use my thunderbolt connection to HDMI to connect to my PS3. I have the hardware, all I need is a program that would reconize this. This would only help there sales, so I don't understand why you can't already do this. To be able to use your screen on your macbook pro as a TV for your game consoles would be a huge to boost sales. Please tell me if this is possible and what I need to do it? Or please tell me why this is not possible?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
What you want is Target Display mode. This mode is only supported in Late 2009 and Mid 2010 27-inch iMacs, and Mid 2011 or newer iMacs, but MacBooks Pro are not supported, so you cannot use your MacBook as a display for your PlayStation 4.
In the case of Late 2009 and Mid 2010 27-inch iMacs, there is an adapter called Kanex XD which allows you to use the iMac as a display for a Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are not supported. In other words, you need an external monitor for your PlayStation 4.
