Connecting a touch screen monitor to Pavilion 17 e-137cl

I'd like to use touch screen capability on when I have an exterior monitor connected with that capability (Acer T232HL).   It has Windows 8.1 updated but I cannot find a way to initiate pen and touch to the exterior monitor.  Is this possible?
This question was solved.

Connect the usb cable that the display came with between the port in the back of the display and your notebook.
After you do that, Windows should recognize the device and install the appropriate drivers on its own.

  • Can I use a touch screen monitor with my macbook pro?

I am doing a lot of photo organization and thought it would be easier if I had a touch screen monitor attached to my macbook pro.  Has anyone tried this and if so, what brand did you use.
    Thanks
    Bob

All a touchscreen is going to do is replace your mouse or trackpad, you can't use two hands at once to gain any speed advantage organizing photo's.
Also it would have to be a pretty big touch screen, place your two hands over a 17" screen and most of the screen is blocked.
If you need something like that, talk to Microsoft, they have a "Big @ss table" that does that.
Gives me a backache just looking at those people

  • Will an iMac mini and mountain lion work with a touch screen monitor?

I was wondering if Mountain Lion would work with a touch screen monitor. I have a project in mind and this is a key part to the equation. If any one could help this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I do Not know for certain, but from my understanding, touch screen interfaces require that the OS version used to drive them be "designed" from the beginning to operate within that environment.  Obviously, at this point OS X has Not been designed to function that way (non of the Mac's using it work that way); although the mobile version, iOS 6, used in iPhones and iPads was indeed designed from scratch to operate that way.  So one day sometime down the road it's possible that OS X too will share this ability.  But not yet.
    Hope this helps

  • Multi touch screen monitors

I presently have a HP Z620 with 4 monitors (2 video cards).  The monitors are beginning to get a bit old and unreliable as they were originally purchased for my previous PC. I am running win 8.1 Pro.
Is it possible to run 4 touch screen monitors with this PC and operating system?
From what I can find, Microsoft says it should be possible with the correct monitors with correct drivers but can't or won't give any recomendations.
I only need 22" or 23" monitors but I do need 4 of them and if they can be touch screens that would make things operate very nicely.
    Thanks
    Warren

  • Touch screen monitor

Does Apple make a touch screen monitor? I'm looking to upgrade my computer to a Mac Pro and since I have to provide the monitors I was looking for a monitor that will allow me to use the Thunderbolts, but have the capability to to use a touch screen. I understand that thunderbolt is only an apple product, but I would like to use the ports that the computer comes with over letting them go to waste.

  • Anybody using M83 with Win 8/8.1 and a non-Lenovo touch screen monitor?

    Colleagues,
My first post, thinking of buying a couple of custom ThinkCentre M83 and wanted to make sure they work well with Windows 8/8.1 and a non-Lenovo touch screen monitor.
    Thanks in advance.

That is a very good question.  The reason I am asking this is because Lenovo also said that the AIO C325 were touch screen and I bought 3 of them for a small business I have.  None of the 3 screens work as touch screens and, of course, they are already out of warranty.
In this case, I plan to purchase 2 M83's which will not be particularly cheap once I add all the components I need and I will not be very happy with Lenovo if a third party touch screen didn't work.
So, I am looking for forum users who have M83's with third party touch screens to make sure I won't get into trouble again.
    Regards.

  • Lenovo - LI2341T 23" IPS LED HD Touch-Screen Monitor - what "touch screen" technology is used

I have purchased the Lenovo - LI2341T 23" IPS LED HD Touch-Screen Monitor.  When I purchased it, the salesman told me that other "brands" of monitors were better due to dust build up along the edges of the monitor might block something causing the screen to jump and waver.  When I got home I compared the lenovo to the others brands and do not see any difference in the specifications.  So I investigated further and found various methods of touch screen sensing.  Can a lenovo staff member tell me which is used in this monitor.  From what I gather there is Resistive film,  Capacitive, SAW, Infrared optical imaging, and Electromagnetic induction.  Which one?

  • Programming Touch-screen Monitors

    Hey everybody,
I'm on the verge of a big job contract (well, big by my standards, I'm just a student). I need to be able to program an interface for a network of touch-screen monitors. So I need to be able to get at any events generated by a user's interaction with the screen.
I have a very introductory understanding of how touch-screen monitors work so would not be completely oblivious to any explanation given.
So, I need to know if there is an api or other reference I can look to for information.
    Thanks a lot!

touch screens work like normal screens that have a mouse.
    it's that simple.
when you touch the screen you get the normal mouse events
The only obvious thing to note is that your application design can be a bit limited, ie dont bother with tool tips etc, as there is no mouse over stuff going to happen

  • Side scroll on touch screen monitor

I'm a newbie in Director, and I am now in the process of making an interactive timeline history. I just want to ask how to code the side scroll effect in Director because almost all tutorials I see on the internet only involves clicking and not scrolling. I'll be putting this program on a touch screen monitor.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Here's a very simple movie to show you one way that you might achieve this.
In the Message window of Director, type:
    go movie "http://nonlinear.openspark.com/tips/filmloop/SideScroll.dir"
Run the movie and drag towards the left. If you look in the score, you will see that there is only one sprite on the Stage in the first section. This is a film loop which contains all the content. The content may be interactive and animated.
You can find more details on how to create and use film loops here.

Does enyone know a perofesional touch screen monitor that i can use for my apple laptop???Thanks. monitor that

I still cannot figure out why it doesn't always work.  All parameters were met and my bluetooth keyboard is set correctly to wake the computer.  My keyboard becomes backlit, but my LG monitor does not pick up a video signal and is black and my laptop monitor is off.  The only way I can get out is to hold on button on laptop until it shuts down and I can start up again.  This happens on an intermittent basis.  Sometimes it works and other times I get black screens.   I need to know if I can use command F1 to get the laptop to detect the display or is their another key combination to send the signal to the external monitor when I can't see anything because I hate to do a hard shut down to get out of this mode!  Please advise!

  • Connect iPad to a touch screen monitor

I have 52" touch screen display and would like to connect my iPad to this display via VGA and still have the touchscreen monitor function both on the iPad and the 53". Ideas? I have the iPad 2 so with a VGA connection all my iPad screens project out but I would like to touch the screen and have the iPad be operable as well.

Jailbroken discussion is not allowed here. It is very unlikely an enterprise app could be able to do this.
I would think that a touchscreen needs connection via USB as well as VGA. Since the VGA adapter connects to the dock port you cannot use any other type of connection with it. Even so, it would require some way of accepting external pointing capability which is not in iOS.

  • Has anyone used a touch screen monitor with scxi.I am having video lock ups while using LV and MAX

I have a PCI-MIO-16XE-50 daq card (dev1) connected to a scxi-1000 chassis address 0 ID 1, with a scxi-1102,1163,1163,1162 slots 1,2,3,4 respectively.Cable is connected to daq card to 1102 card .Micro touch screen is used on com2. Have tried other serial ports 1,5. Touch screen works fine with windows until LabView and max is installed .Video lockups,Max failures occur.MAX seems to confict with touch screen.

Max is the NI interface for all the drivers. It may be a specific driver that is causing problems, perhaps NI-VISA. I would try installing things one piece at a time. Might want to start by uninstalling everything so that you start with a clean system. First install LabVIEW with no drivers at all. See if the Micro touch screen still works. Then try installing NI-DAQ. Install each of the drivers you need one at a time. If you don't need something, leave it out.

  • Is it possible to attach an ACER T232HL Touch Screen Monitor to my MSI GS70 2PE Apache Pro?

Will the external monitor fully display the touch capability of Win 8 loaded in the notebook? Any tips on how to do it? Thanks in advance.

first of all it's called GS70 2PE and not Apache Pro xD secondly um you mean like a touch screen external monitor? or just normal external monitor? then it should support fully resolution yes by using fn + f2 if new monitor is giving black screen.

  • Can I use PSE with a PC with touch screen monitor?

I am in the market for a PC with a touch screen such as HP Touchsmart, and I am wondering if I can manipulate changes to images in PS or PSE on a touch screen?  I am not talking about apps.  Thanks.

Adobe has a produce called Photoshop Touch.  It is a stripped down version of Photoshop.  You can read about it here  http://www.practicalphotoshopmag.com/2012/06/06/adobe-photoshop-touch-review/
