Connecting a wii to wrt54g2

i tried to connect my wii to a wrg54g2 and it finds it but will not let it connect. my laptop works fine.

If your laptop connects perfectly fine to the same router, I think you shall check your wii, try to connect to another wireless network outside your home just in case to determione if the problem is with your wii...

  • Connecting my Wii to my WIRED router

I have broadband wired connection but all the directions for connecting my wii are for wireless connections. I purchased a USB Ethernet Adapter for my wii and have connected it to my computers ethernet port on the router but I cannot get the wii connected online. Can anyone steer me in the right direction for setting this up?

how much does a wireless router cost and is it an extra cost on my bill to use it??    Prices on wireless routers vary as seen here on this link.
CLICK HERE  There is no monthly charge, essentially you purchase the router and conect it to your modem.  It's yours.  You will want to make sure the one you choose has 4 ports on the back and is wireless B and wireless G compatable.  Personally I like Linksys and D-Link routers.
Does it fit into the ethernet port of the modem?  Yes, using an ethernet cord (cat5)
Have you ever not been able to get online with your wii with it? I can always get on...no problems.
What else can it be used with?  I presume we're talking about the wireless router?  You can use it with laptops, or if you get a ps3 down the road, you can use it for that also.

  • HT5299 Can I connect a wii to the Thunderbolt?

I'm about to purchase a wii but don't have a tv.  Can someone explain what I need to purchase so I can connect the wii to the Thunderbolt display?  There's so much conflicting information and I'm not a techie at all!

A Thunderbolt display has to plug into a Thunderbolt port.  There are no adapters that will make it work with anything else.

  • Help in choosing a router to connect our Wii

We have a 2,100sq ft house.  We currently have the Linksys E1000 router and cannot connect our Wii to the internet.  The router is downstairs w/our desktop @ one end of the house.  The Wii is in our room over the garage @ the other end of the house.  I can connect the Wii to the router, just cant get on the itnernet using the Wii to get Netflix, play online etc.  I'm thinking that maybe our router isn't strong enough.  I didn't think we had a "large" house and this router would work.  Hubby & I are not the best w/technology so any suggestions you can offer would be really appreciated.

If it can connect to the network and the signal strength is good (you will see it in the signal strength indicator in the Wii menu), then it's just your router settings that need to be configured to work with the Wii.

  • Je n'arrive pas à connecter ma wii au wifi de time capsule

    Bonjour,
Le cryptage wifi de time capsule ne me permet pas de connecter ma wii.
Je dois donc activer le wifi de ma freebox qui porte le même SSID que celui de time capsule pour que ma wii se connecte au réseau.
    Est ce normal?
    Merci

  • Can't get my Wii to connect to my new WRT54G2 v1.5

I tried everything from the automatic detection on the Wii to manually setting up a static IP. Nothing seems to work. The Wii can find the network just fine, but when I plug in the key and test the connection it fails every time. Anybody have any advice?

Whats the security mode setup on your Router? Whats the OS installed on your computer?
When you are trying to connect to your wireless network are you getting any error message?

  • Connecting Nintendo Wii - 802.11n AEBS - Broadband Router aint worken?

Hey guys, Ive just bought a new Nintendo Wii which is working a charm, but i cant seam to be able to get it to connect to my wireless network, (my new iPod Touch is also having the same problems (works fine on all networks other than home).
Essentially I've got my broadband modem plugged into a router upstairs and my AirPort Extreme (802.11n) plugged into the aforementioned router upstairs (for some reason AirPort Extreme wouldn't recognize plugging the broadband router straight in rather than through another router) so my setup is:
Broadband Modem -> Wired Router -> AirPort Wireless -> Wii
I think the fact that i have my internet connection coming from another router (whose settings i cant change cause I've forgotten the routers password) and then plugged into my AirPort is whats causing all my troubles??? So ideally if anyones got any suggestions why my AirPort wont accept direct connection from my broadband router i think that might do the trick but making my current setup work for the Wii would be cool.
This is really causing me allot of troubles with heaps of devices so any help is welcome!
    Thanks in advance!

Hello kungfuelmosan. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
I suggest that you try connecting the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) directly to the broadband modem again, but this time make sure to allow enough time for a complete power recycle of the network components when doing so as follows ...
Try the following, in order, until resolved:
    1. If the modem has a reset switch, use it to reset the modem. Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the modem to initialize.
    2. Remove power from the modem. If it has a backup battery, remove this as well. Wait 5-10 minutes. Replace the battery, and add power back to the modem.
    3. Perform a complete power recycle of your network components as follows:
    Modem/Router Power Recycling - Quick
    o Power-off the modem, AEBSn, & computer(s); Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the AEBSn; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
If this fails to get the modem to "recognize" the Internet router, then try the "Full" version.
    Modem/Router Power ReCycling - Full
o Power-off the modem, AEBSn, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-on the AEBSn; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
    4. Contact your ISP to have them perform a "modem reset."

  • I'm trying to connect my wii to the mobile hotspot on my iPhone 4s.

The wii recognizes my phone as an access point and takes the code but then won't connect.  Any advice is appreciated.

Was the gift card issued in the same country as your account is based (cards can't be used in other countries) ? If it was issued in your country then see if this page helps : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1292 - and if it doesn't then your could try contacting iTunes support as described on that page.

  • Can't connect to Wii

This is all new to me. I have a Linksys WRT120N Router and I am having a problem  connecting to my Wii internet, test connection fails and I get the error code 51331 and I would also like to know how to change the channels on my router. this is so fustrating, hope that someone out there can help me.

    Hello.
I am having a problem with my Router and Wii.  I set up the connection and it worked fine.  I shut down the Wii that evening, returned to it the next day and recieved error code 51330.  In order to get the system up and running again, I have to reinstall the Router on my computer.  Again, it works fine for that day, but I receive the error code 51330 again.  What's up??

  • Connecting Nintendo Wii To Laptop

hi there i am at university and have just recently got a Nintendo wii, due to lack of space i just wanted to know is there any way i can connect my games console to the laptop and play on there?

    http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetvhybridna
You need the EyeTV Hybrid. It is USB 2.0, so won't work on the older TiBooks, if that is the computer you have. Unless you get a USB 2.0 PCCard.

  • WRT150N connects to Wii but doesn't accept a Wii update.

I've updated my WRT150N to the latest firmaware (1.51.3) and the router connects fine to my PC via hardwire. My router is also seen by other wireless devices (laptop, Archos) the Wii even detects it and the Wii internet test passes.
But the problem I have is when I attempt to update the Wii the download will stop after a few minutes. Troubleshooting on the Nintendo site says to change to chanel 1 or 11 to improve the connection, but still it doesn't work.
Does anybody have the same problem? Even better does anybody have a solution?!

Try changing the wireless settings on the router such as ........
    Radio Band  40MHz
    Wide Channel  6
    Standard channel  11
See if the WII is now upgrading ........
