Connecting Access Databse to BI Publisher

Hi,
Please anyone tell me, how to connect MS Access database to BI Publisher.
There is no explicitly drivers defined in JDBC Connection, so what should I use in this case as DriverType & Connection String.
Hoping for quick reply.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi Vestrini,
Thanks for your reply, but only connection string is not enough, what about Driver type, Database Driver Class, username and password.
Please, provide some detail step to connect access database to BI Publisher.
Thanks.

  • Urgent Help needed : Connecting Access 2000 with forms 6i

    Dear friends,
    I am really struggling to solve this connection issue. I am working with forms 6i, oracle 8i, in Windows XP pro environment. Developing programs using oracle 8i tables is ok, but there are tables in Access 2000, which I have to add the program that I am developing. The things I have done are
    - I have already tables in MS Access databse.
    - I Installed ODBC for microsoft and for Oracle as well(which . I added the MS Access Database there and I can perfom SQL from Oracle ODBC.
    - I also installed OCA for developer from the CD.
    From this point I followed the instructions in Developer Help menu and I was not able to connect and still trying, I will appreciate if anyone provide me sometips. Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

    Hi,
    I know the bad solution. But anyway, I'll tell you in any kind of help. I also had an AccessControlException when I started a RMI client program using JFileChooser. I rewrote policy files again and agin, but in vain. The last and ultimate method I did was remove the RMISecurityManager. This is obviously dangerous in the Internet, but if you use your application in the intranet or in some kind of safe environment. There would be no problem.
    Hope this could be any kind of your help.

  • How to connect access database through oracle sql prompt

    i want to connect access database via oracle , i am trying to import all the data in Access table into oracle table how it is possible .
    A.R

    The simplest way, if You have already created tables in Oracle DB, is to open the Access MDB, link Oracle tables via ODBC and build a query to append rows reading from Access tables to Oracle tables.
    Hope this helps

  • SQLServer 2008 Unable to connect to databse;

    Hi experts,
    I have been installed MSSQL 2008 and half to install SAPB1 2007 PL49, but when i install common upgrade->Integration component, it show an error " Unable to connect to databse; verify that database TCP/IP port service is started."
    But i have set the port to "1433". Most important, didn't  have choice for me to MS SQLServer2008 only show the MS SQLServer2000 and MS SQLServer2005.
    Can i skip the install or upgrade the integration Component?
    thankls.
    Danny

    Hi Laurenz,
    Sorry to say...but it still does not connect(incorporated your suggestions), nor is the trace generated. sqlnet.log looks no different. As about any other oracle clients...I did not have any until yesterday evening when we installed the entire 10g oracle...client and database.
    Anyways now too after having installed oracle 10g on D drive, no succes in connecting to remote databse.
    Two questions:
    1. Is XE client compatible with 10g database? As I am trying to connect to 9.2 version as mentioned in my initial query.
    2. When I ping the host I do get reply. BUT when I telnet i.e.
    telnet host port
    ....it says "could not open connection to the host, on port XXX: connect failed"
    Does it mean there is a firewall at the remote end which is preventing the successfull connection? But then how do I connect thru' Perl with no extra info...
    Any other suggestion please let me know...and also do you suggest I uninstall all oracle clients other than XE...or is there any way out ...having multiple clients?
    Another query...hope I can use toad after having set up the XE client?
    Thanks in advance...

  • Cannot determine MAC address of connected Access Point using Access Connections version 5

    I recently installed the newst version of Access Connections (version 5) and discovered I am unable to determine the MAC address of the connected access point.  The 'Graphical' screen shows the SSID, IP address of client etc - but does not show the MAC address of the access point.  The 'Details' screen shows the MAC address of the access points - but the radial button on the left does not indicate the cfurrently associated access point.

    Is it the switch where the node is directly connected ?
    Is the NIC at node side, working fine ?
    Another fact to consider is, a mac will wipe itself out after the MAC-age timeout.

  • Error: Sorry, your account cannot access the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite

    A few days ago I ordered Creative Cloud account. Since that when I try to log in into Folio Producer I receive this message:
    Sorry, your account cannot access the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. Please contact Customer Support for help.
    At the same time I do can log in into Folio Builder in my InDesign CS6 and even add folios. Might be this error by someway linked to that I had in the past DPS Pro account?
    Thank you in advance.

    This issue does not have solution. I came up to DPS developing team, anyone does not want to fix manually each account and they do not have an automatic solution.

  • Access to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite

    I am trying to get hold of the process.
    Is Access to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite the absolute last (and nescessary) step to get the app to iTunes?
    If I follow the instructions I am told:
    You do not have access to the Digital Publishing Suite.
    I thought I had access via my Adobe account, but does this actually mean that at this point you have to decide what kind of pruduct you want to release: Free folios - retail folios or subscriptions - and to get access I have to pay as listet in:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/digitalpublishingsuite/pricing/
    Do I read it correct that if I want to release a folio for free download I have to pay "US$495/month platform fee plus service fee".

    No I wasn't. I downloaded it and looked, but I nothing else.

  • Indirectly Connected Access points

    Hi all, i'm just after a little clarification.
    According to the Cisco 3850 QA sheet, (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps12686/qa_c67-722110.html), this unit does not support indirectly connected AP's.
    Q.
    Does the Cisco Catalyst 3850 support indirectly connected access points?
    A. No. The Cisco Catalyst 3850 switch will always terminate the CAPWAP tunnel locally. Pass-through mode or indirectly connected access point is not supported at this time.
    What doesnt make sense to me is that i can buy 50 AP licenses per switch/wlc so i don't understand how i am going to attach these AP's to the 3850.
    In our current setup we have a 5508 connected to a Cat4506 with all the AP's connected to an "AP vlan" on the Cat4506 - fairly typical setup i imagine.
    We couldnt have each AP connected directly to the 3850 do to cabling and multiple buildings.
    Any clarification would be appreciated,
    Cheers,

    the asnwer to that is a bit farther down.
    Q.
    How is the access point count license managed across a Cisco Catalyst 3850 stack?
    A. The total access point count license of a Cisco Catalyst 3850 stack is equal to the sum of all the individual member access point count licenses, up to a maximum of 50 access points. When new members are added to the stack, the total access point count license of the stack is automatically recalculated. When members are removed from the stack, the access point count license does not decrement until a reload of the stack.
    teh 3850 is designed to have AP's terminate in the closets vs coming all the way back to the core.

    Steve

  • Connecting Access point through wireless

    Hi there can anybody guide me whether i can connect one cisco access point though wired connection. and rest of the access points will be aquiring the ip address from the wired connected access point without using any wired connectivity? Is it possible if yes how can i implement that and how feasible it is?
    Please i am in urgent need. Thanks in advance

    An Access Point is designed to only pass traffic for WIRELESS clients ONLY. It will not pass traffic for wired clients that are communicating to a bridge, (unless it is a Working Group bridge.)

  • Multiple ms access databse connection

    HI friends, I Just wanted to know whether it is possible to connect the .mdb and ldb file using the jdbc -odbc bridge without having ms access installed on it. Here i want the database i.e the mdb and ldb file to reside as a standalone on each pc that i have and I would like to use the driver in such a way that i should be able to connect the database using the commom password which will be same for all the database.
    i have already tried connecting the database by creating a dsn on my local pc where my tomcat runs
    the data sucessfully enters the database but what i want is when i use the front end application from a remote pc i want the data to be going to the database configured on that pc with the same dsn
    just waiting for u r suggestions...

    So? It's not a resource, so the package says probably pretty much nothing, I'm sure it's rather the present working directory. Use an absolute path in that connection String.

  • Column Not found error while trying to access databse through JSP+Java Bean

    I am trying to acees MS Access 2003 db through JSP using Tomcat 5.0.28.The code for accessing the databse is incorporated in the bean.The jsp only calls the particular method of the bean .
    Code for Java Bean:
    package ActiveViewer;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class CompanyBean
    Connection con;
    ResultSet rs=null;
    Statement st;
         public CompanyBean(){}
         public void connect()
         try
         Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    System.out.println("Here4");
    con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:activeviewer","","");
         System.out.println("Here1");
         catch (ClassNotFoundException e)
         System.out.println("Could not locate driver.");
    catch (SQLException e)
    System.out.println("An SQL Exception has occured :: "+e);
         e.printStackTrace();
         catch (Exception e)

    public void disconnect()

         e.printStackTrace();
    public ResultSet select(String username)
    if(con!=null)
         try
    st=con.createStatement();
         rs=st.executeQuery("select * from company where username='" + username + "'");
    catch (SQLException e)
    System.out.println("An SQL Exception has occured :: "+e);
         e.printStackTrace();

    System.out.println("An Exception has occured while retrieving :: "+e);
    e.printStackTrace();
    else
    System.out.println("Connection to database was lost.");
    return rs;
    The code for JSP that uses the above bean is:
    <%@ page language="java" import="java.sql.*,ActiveViewer.* " contentType="text/html"%>
    <jsp:useBean id="conn" scope="session" class="ActiveViewer.CompanyBean" />
    <html>
    <body>
    <% String username=request.getParameter("username");
    String password=request.getParameter("password");
    System.out.println("username:"+username);
    System.out.println("password:"+password);
    conn.connect();
    ResultSet rs=conn.select(username);
    System.out.println("Below select ");
    while (rs.next())
    String dbusername=rs.getString("username");
         String dbpassword=rs.getString("password");
         if(dbusername.equals(username) && dbpassword.equals (password))
    { %> out.println("OK");
              <% }
    else { %>Invalid Username and / or Password.
    <br>Clickhere to go back to Login Page.
    <% }
    } %>
    </body>
    </html>
    I get the following error:
    HTTP Status 500 -
    type Exception report
    message
    description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
    exception
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Column not found
    though the database is not int he same folder as the jsp, the DSN is set correctly to pint to the db location.The jsp does print in stdout file:
    Here4 (from connect method above)
    Here 1 (from connect method above)
    Below Select (from jsp)
    This means that the jsp does connect to db but it gives the above error.Also the field name also matches that in the database and data is present in the db too.
    All other things like creating package for bean,incorporating the packakage are done.
    Can someone please help me with their precious advice?

    U're getting this error because there is no field called 'password' in ur database, the field in ur database is named 'cpassword' and not 'password'. So change the statement rs.getString("password"); to rs.getString("cpassword");

  • Excel(DAO) connection wants database logon when published

    I've searched and found nothing that addresses my issue.  I built a report using an Excel 2010 spreadsheet(.xls) as a datasource.  The file is stored on a network share.  I entered the UNC path in the DAO connection dialog.  There is no username/pwd on the file.  The report runs fine from my pc using CR2008.  When I publish it in InfoView and go to the report it starts to run then asks for a database logon and that's all she wrote.
    Steps I've taken:
        -  add the BO service account(taken from the Server Intelligence Agent service) to the permissions for the network location
        -  tried to supply an AD admin username and password when prompted
    Should I be using another type of connection?  I can't seem to find much on this.  Thanks.

    Hi Bob,
    That definitely indicates Apache doesn't have access to either the DSN or a dependency. It should not prompt for log on info at all. That prompt is misleading actually, it's not really looking for the log on info, it doesn't have access to the XLS file.
    Not sure but CR 2011 and Cr for VS 2010 now supports XLXS file types so I'm wondering now if this has something to do the version of the Excel file itself.
    Can you save the file in Excel 2007 format and test that?
    Try using "Admin" as the user name and no password for both prompts, I believe that is/was the default.
    Thanks again
    Don

  • Connecting Access Databases remotely?

    Currently:
    Currently I have a Java application which performs all I wanted and the limitation in it is "It only resides on the Local machine for which it needs to work". I have the Microsoft Access Databases located on a Remote Server and I install the Java app on the remote server to connect the databases using a connectionString "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=D:\DATA\DPPI\DATA\DPPI\DPPIPR01.mdb"; It connects to Access Databases and do all the bussiness logics with them.
    Enhancements (to be done):
    1. Making the application online - not a big issue.
    2. Connecting the databases remotely - its the only concern.
    So, if I make the Application Online the Access Databases need to be connecting through network (somewhat like ip or some web address).
    Problem:
    But after going through this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11388277/connect-to-access-database-remotely, it seems my requirement can not be completed.
    Is there any way if I'm able to upload the database to the online web hosting server and access the database from there only? If yes, then how should I do the connectivity since Access Database connects by giving the fully qualified name containing drive letter and all. But how should I proceed further so that I may be able to connect the mdb Databases remotely?
    ADO .Net Solution:
    After going through the link:
    http://webcheatsheet.com/ASP/access_connection_strings.php , it seems we can perform remote Access Database connectivity.
    The solution for the ADO is something like:
    connectionString="Provider=MS Remote; Remote Server=http://your_remote_server_ip;" &_ "Remote Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=c:\your_database_name.mdb"
    I'm a tad confused to how Access Database we can connect.
    EDIT
    There is one more question in my head.
    I'm making use of Type-1 Driver. By making use of Type-4 Driver like HXTT Access(http://www.hxtt.com/access.html), a commercial type 4 driver for MS Access, supports it. But is there any open source Type-4 Driver like this?

    Thanks for your responses guys. It seems I'm heading in a right direction (but can't completely say as I would also like to be concerned about the performance issues.)
    For the time being I would like to consider this approach until it is fully confirmed.
    Please let me know if I'm proceeding in a right way? (developed a webservice using Jax-ws testing application)
         1. I wrote a Jax-ws webservice published and tested on the localhost - its returning the response (tested using Soap-Ui).
              So, I would like to have the same application to be acting as a Server to be deployed on the Server housing the Microsoft Access Databases. It would connect the database and return the result to be consumed from Client.
         2. From the other end I opened the Soap-Ui such that I edited the Endpoint like: (this call would be actually made from the Online Application)
              Previous End point of the Wsdl- http://localhost:8080/myService/services/Invoker - tried and tested
              Edited End point of the Wsdl for testing - http://remoteIp:8080/myService/services/Invoker
              I got the Error stating:
                                            ERROR:org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException: Connection to http://192.168.1.6:8080 refused.
         Please let me know what I'm doing wrong or is there a special requirements for calling the services remotely?
    EDIT
    I took the IP address by executing ipconfig.

  • Can't access Subscriber services from Publisher and Vice Versa

    Hi ,
    I am using CUCM 8.5.1(10000-26)
    when connected to Publisher and go to Serviceability then service activation , Feature services or Network services of the subscriber , an error appears telling can't connect to remote node .
    same from Subscriber side .
    Database Replication is in "good" state
    onconfig.ccm reports an error "The onconfig.ccm file on x.x.x.x does not match the publisher."
    Any Advise ?

    Dear
    please cli command to check the relication , you  must check that each node should have a replication status of two (2).
    use this command   (Utils dpreplication runtimestate) and please check the output.I do not see this eror before , but if you did not get a solution , ithink t open a TAC with Cisco. I think the onconfig.ccm file on x.x.x.x does not match the publisher (it is a problemm in linux) , i think the  /opt/informix/etc directory.
