Connecting an hp pavilion p7-1155 to my tv

how do I connect my p7-1155 to my hdtv? I don't see any hdmi output on my computer. I have an avr with hdmi conns and others I can use. It's a marantz 7008.My tv is panasonic top of the line plasma. I want to use the tv as a monitor so I can surf from my recliner with a wireless keyboard. I prefer going thru the avr. I have internet connectivity on the tv.

I recommend upgrading the video card to a low power unit with an HDMI output.
You may be able to get away with a DVI to HDMI adapter. They are generic, cheap and can be bought at most stores that sell PC accessories and peripherals. I have had video cards that had them in the package such as the one in the images.  I have never used one because I have not  had a need for it.
Notice that the adapter in the images says ATI Radeon. It came with an ATI (now AMD) PCIe x16 video card.  If you have the audio output going to your AVR then it should not be a problem.

  • Speakers Altec Lansing VS-3151 Connecting to HP Pavilion a1130n

I've successfully been using the Altec Lansing Speaker System VS-3151 that I purchased together with my HP Pavilion a650y in 2004. When we recently replaced our desktop, my daughter wanted to inherit the speaker system to use with her HP Pavilion a1130n that was purchased in 2005.  However, we can't determine how to connect those speakers to her desktop. Perhaps there is some kind of converter that we need?

Ok so how did you do it?

  • Headset connection to HP Pavilion laptop

I have recently purchased an HP Pavilion laptop. Product name: HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC, Product number: E3A54PA#ABG.  I am trying to connect my headset which has two 3.5mm plugs - pink for microphone and green for earphones.
Problem is the laptop only has one 3.5mm socket. I've looked at other headsets for sale and they all have 2 plugs.
How do I connect a headset?

Same here! This is so strange... Help please.

  • Connecting firewire to Pavilion P6-2302

I want to use Windows MovieMaker, importing video from my Canon MiniDV camcorder tapes.
As a newbie to all this, and after hours of confusing research online, please can anyone answer these questions:
    1. I understand I should transfer via firewire. Do I need to install anything extra on my PC (HP Pavilion P6-2302)? If not, where do I connect the firewire cable to the PC?
    2.  My CD/DVD tray says it is a DVD Multirecorder.  Does that mean I can burn DVDs from MovieMaker?
I will be very grateful for any advice. Thanks.

    Understood, many thanks, Terminator.
There are many opinions online that 'firewire to USB' adapters often prove unsatisfactory, so I will go for the card option.
Now to find someone to install it!
Thanks for your advice, which is greatly appreciated.

I understand you are having a difficulty connecting your Bush TV to your notebook, but it connects fine to your friends notebook.
Here is a link to Connecting a Monitor, Projector or TV (Windows 8) that should assist you with this endeavor.  Your notebook has a HDMI port and I believe your Bush TV does also.
Have you tried a different cable ?
Please let me know it you require additional assistance. Would you also provide the  connection type you are using.

  • Windows 7 on a lan does not connect to a hp 855c connected to a xp machine.why?

    I have 2 HP computers on a LAN.One is a p6140f running Windows7;the other is a HP Pavilion 7955 running Windows XP.
A HP Deskjet 855C printer is connected to the Pavilion.Trying to connect the printer over the network to the Windows 7 fails with the message that a wrong driver has been installed on the printer server.I have been to the HP site and installed the latest local printer driver on the Pavilion, but that did not fix it.I am seeking advice on how to use the Deskjet for printing from the Windows 7 on the LAN.
    MahendraPatel

Unfortunately, the HP Deskjet 855c Printer series is not supported for Windows 7.
While you can try to share the printer from the Windows XP system to the Windows 7 system, a Windows 7 driver is still required on the Windows 7 system.
Click on HP Products Not Supported in Windows 7 for a list of printers that are not supported on the Windows 7 operating system.
The best option may be to upgrade to a printer that is Windows 7 compatible.
    Edited for spelling.

  • HP Pavilion Laptop; Only Special Function Keys are Working

I got my first HP laptop, a HP Pavilion 17-e049wm Notebook, refurbished a few months ago when my original quit out. Until recently, I've been more than happy with its performance. However, a few weeks ago the keyboard started acting both weird and also not working. I'll try to provide as much information as I can, and thank you in advance for your assistance!
    Circumstances before the event:
-The night before, my keyboard worked one hundred percent fine. I played some games and went to sleep with it closed and hibernating like I always have. The next morning, I took it up with me to play music as I showered. Before I'm accused of water-damaging it, my laptop was very far from shower, so no direct water contact occured, and also we shower with the door open, so there was no build up of steam or humidity that could've done it that couldn't be present in any other situation. I knew that it worked that morning, as I must have logged in to play my music. After closing it and bringing it to my car (without drops or any other jarring), I learned a few hours later that my keyboard had stopped working.
-My house doesn't have internet and I havn't recently installed anything, so it's doubtful that some kind of software did it to me.
    What the keyboard does(n't do):
-Almost every key doesn't work. The letters, esc, enter, shifts, fn, numberpad, caps lock, etc. I've tried them each, and none work.
-There are two exclusions to the above statement:
-The 'special' function keys; All of the keys that share space with my function keys work fine. So my mute, pause, change display, brightness controls, help shortcut, airplane mode, etc. work. So everything from F1 to F12 work.
-Before anyone assumes that my fn key is stuck or something, the special part is the default. On my keyboard, you hold down the fn key to do the normal fn key functions (f11 skips to the next song, fn+f11 does fullsrceen).
-Also, I'm not sure if my 'normal' functions work. I tried holding fn on this USB keyboard and then the f# keys, but the 'special' function still is the one that works. However, as I have no control, I don't know if that would have happened anyways.
-The second exception, which makes me doubt that it is a hardware problem, is that if I hold 'X' and 'C' at the same time, the brightness lowers, as if I tapped my f2 key. Each of those do nothing on their own, but when pushed together, they act identical to the f2.
-Another thing is that my ported keyboard's caps lock indicator light still shines when either the USB or on-screen's caps lock keys are used.
    What I've tried:
-Turn it off and back on
-Turn it off, take out battery, hold the power button, wait, turn on with/without battery
    -Uninstall keyboard driver, restart
    -Summoning a demon
-Tried to update driver (can't, up-to-date)
-Check status through device manager (claims that it's running fine)
I've basically tried everything I could find that seemed relatively useful from browsing the forums, but it's on my third week keyboardless, nothing works, and I'm so tired of using my girlfriends pretty, sparkling and bedazzled, purple USB keyboard from her days in middle school. If nothing works, I'll have to resort to the system resets and lose applications and my files, which would be a mad bummer yo.
Thank you again for your help, internet.

    @cbowman08 ,
Hello and thank you so much for posting on the HP support forums. Now please I am not stating you have done anything wrong in any way.  This kind of thing happens all the time.
You do not need a bunch of steam to cause an issue with water for one thing.
Inside your notebook is a huge differential in temperature zones.  If you take a notebook into a shower room even if your water is slightly above room temp there is ample moisture in the air.
Air has to travel and if your notebook was on the counter and it is between your shower and the door, any moisture in the air gets to get heated way up and then gets to cool way down and gather on the little metal bits in your notebook.
It only takes one drop of water the size of a pin head to bridge a connection and cause a short.
I hope this is not the case.  I am hoping that the connection cable for your keyboard has come loose.
So to see if this is just a loose connection instead of a bit of moisture causing the issue here is a link to your maintenance guide,
    Maintenance and Service Guide
This will show you have to get your system apart to check they keyboard connection.
As well here is a link to how to gain access to the keyboard and its connection.
HP Pavilion 17 Replace Keyboard HDD SSD Ram New Model Laptop.
Check to make sure the keyboard cable didnt just come loose.  Very easy fix.  If it is connected and nothing is loose then you are looking at a replacement keyboard or if the board did get some moisture on it from condensation then you will need to have it sent in for repair.
If that is the case you will want to contact phone support for repair options.

I am hoping for the keyboard connection coming loose here.

  • Connection subwoofer to computer

Unable to get sound from Altec Lansing ADA 745 subwoofer after connection to HP Pavilion 6040 .  Front, rear, and center speakers are working when connected to subwoofer.  But no sound from subwoofer
    Product no. is RX889AA

    Hi,
Please post the HP product number for your PC.
I suspect that your PC is only supporting 2 channel stereo and the low bass is therefore embedded in the 2 channel audio stream.  These speakers were originally certified for a Dell PC which may have had a special audio driver.
You may need to consider a discrete sound card that will support your 4.1 audio.  A Creative Sound card might work but check with them before you buy.
The subwoofer is fused so check the fuse and make sure that it is good.

  • Wireless laptop PC connection to time Capsule

    Hi,
My time capsule works great for my iMac, Wii and Blu ray.
However, I am not able to connect either of my PC laptops to the network. I can see the time capsule network on the list of available networks with a very strong signal on both PCs, but when I click to connect I get an error saying the network is out of range. The only way I found I can connect is to set up a guest network on the time capsule with no password protection. Seems like it has something to do with the password protection??
I am running Windows XP SP3 on the PCs.
    I appreciate your help!
    Thanks,

I am trying to connect an HP Pavilion dv7 running Vista to my Time Machine. The WiFi Adpater is Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g. I can see the network in the "Network Sharing Center" and connect to the Network (I also have a Mac and the Wireless Network was created on that Mac) but cannot connect to the internet. If I turn off all security for the Time Machine and on the PC it connects perfectly. Why will not password has two choices for WPA2, Encryption Type: AES or TKIP. I read somewhere here that TKIP is used for WPA2 and AES is used for WPA. Well if I put in the password and use the encryption TKIP I swill cannot connect. What do I do? Help

  • HP Pavilion 11 x2 Notebook PC Windows 8.1

    Hi
I am trying to connect my HP Pavilion 11 via HDMI to a Pico Pix Projector and getting the message " This laptop cannot project - try re-installing graphics drivers" and when I press F4 nothing happens !! Also when I righ click the screen there is no "screen 2" option.
The whole point of buying this new laptop was to reduce the weight /size of the laptop/projector combination for training.
    What is the solution ?
    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi,
Not sure if you found a fix for the HDMI problem, I have a similar issue and installing reinstalling the Intel graphics drivers didn't help at all. HDMI port is not recognised by any device I attach. Anyway its possible the following may work for you, as it has worked for me. Note I have the latest Intel Graphics installed downloaded from HP support site.
Fix/Workaround, if you disable and then enable the display adapter its appears to "switch" on the HDMI output. Note I am running Windows 8.1 which was upgraded from Windows 8.0
Steps are as folllows, note that HDMI cable is connected tp PC and external device (TV, Monitor etc.):
    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Select Device Manager
    3. Select and expand Display adapters
    4. Select Intel (R) HD Graphics
    5. Right click with mouse
    6. Select Disable
    7. Right click again
    8. Select Enable
When I do this I get output (picture and sound) on my external monitor
Finally make sure that in the Display option in Control Panel to set up Project to Second Screen as either, 1. Duplciate or 2 Extend
If I set as Second screen only and unplugged the HDMI cable from the X2 the screen on the X2 was blank. I had to wake up the PC before I could get the internal screen to work again.
Only problem with the above workaround you have to Disable/Enable each time you restart your X2.
Hope this works for you if still having issues?

  • Multiple computers connected to one monitor

I have an HP Pavilion 23xi IPS Monitor. I currently have it connected to my new PC via and HDMI cable. Does this monitor have the capability to also be connected to an older computer via USB or VGA? If so, do I need to buy extra hardware, like a KVM switch? And can you recommend a good tutorial on how exactly this can be achieved?
    Thank you

    Hello DaHowitzer,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are looking to connect your HP Pavilion 23xi IPS Monitor via either a USB or VGA connection. According to page 6 of the Pavilion IPS LED Backlit Monitors User Guide demonstrates how to connect via a VGA cable to your computer. As this monitor has a VGA port, but no USB port this is the method you need to use.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!

After cleaning ink drip tray including removing & refitting the small panel in the base towards the rear RHS of the  printer and also Super Glueing a small wedge of timber to close split shaft bearing for rear print feed rollers - looking from rear with clean out door removed this is at the LHS where the cogs are - paper feed is out of sync. When turned on with paper in feed tray printer draws in paper until about 2" (5cm) of paper protrudes from delivery slot & then stops. Paper jam is indicated by flashing orange light. On pressing Cancel/Resume, paper is expelled & another sheet taken in with the same results. Have turned off & restarted. Have moved cartridge cleaner tray right from front to rear & tested & then brought it right forward again & tested. Have turned off & unplugged power & USB & restarted after more than 30 minutes. Have uninstalled driver & downloaded & installed anew. Downloaded & ran the HP Print Diagnostic Utility. All to no avail. Any suggestions anyone?
