Connecting an XBox 360 & Audigy for 5.1 with HDA-

Hi all,
I am attempting to hook up and Xbox 360 through my Audigy SB060 in order to obtain true 5. surround (running Windows Vista Ultimate).
I have obtained a Hitech HDA-X0 which gives me Optical inputs for the Audigy card and connects to the Audigy via a 20-pin extension header.
Basically I need the sound to go 360--->optical input of X0--->connected to Audigy by 20 pin header--->decoded by Audigy--->analogue outputs to my Logitech 5. speakers.
I have been assured by the people who sold me the X0 that this would work.
Unfortunately the manual is all in Korean!
As best I can make out it says that I ought to set the SPDIF settings in AudioHQ to AC-3 SPDIF-In.
This presents two problems:
. The current drivers for Audigy cards in Vista use Creative Audio Console not AudioHQ and
2. In Audio Console under SPDIF I/O, there are options only for Default and SPDIF Bypass.
When set to SPDIF Bypass there is no sound at all.
When set to default, I get sound from the 360 but only if the 360 is set to Digital Stereo output.
When I set the 360 to Digital 5., the sound sto
ps.
I think my problem lies in the lack of an AC-3 SPDIF-In setting in Audio Console.
Can anyone provide me with a solution?
Thankyou.Message Edited by lachyzee on 2-03-200704:05 AM

Solved my own problem.
Took a look at the Audigy Vista driver release notes and saw that decoding has been disabled.
Once I dual booted into XP, the surround worked perfectly.
Guess I'll be trying out the nomoregoatsoup drivers so I can get it working in Vista too.
Come on Creative, get your act together.

  • Qosmio G20 VGA in for connecting to XBox 360

How can i connect a Xbox 360 to the qosmio using a VGA HD cable like this?
    http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360vgahdcable/
Is it possible to use the fantastic monitor of the Qosmio to play?
    Any help apreciated

Mores is right, there is no VGA input on the Qosmio G20 (I wish there was though), you have to use an S-Video connection from your Xbox. Using the Qosmio player works perfectly well, there's no delay at all, the only problem I had was the video quality was utterly terrible. S-Video out from my 360 to a TV was fine, but input into the laptop looked awful, oh well!

  • Can I use the mini displayport to vga adaptor with the xbox vga cable to connect my xbox 360 to my macbook pro?

I'm trying to find a way to connect my xbox 360 to my mackbook pro. I've searched the internet and found that I can use a eagle eye device but, its to expensive. So after looking at the xbox website, I found a vga adaptor for my xbox and an vga to mini displayport and I was wondering if this would work.

The minidisplay port is output only. It's not going to show anything from your xbox.

  • Connecting my xbox 360 (elite) to my macbook pro?

I recently got a Macbook pro for christmas, and was wondering if there was anyway that I could connect my xbox 360 elite to it. I want to use the my macbook screen as a screen for my 360, at least until I can afford a new TV (roommate knocked my 32" samsung off its stand and broke it christmas day...).
I heard there is a VGA coord from microsoft that connects from a vga port to the back of the xbox, and i have the DVI to VGA adapter for the mac already. Was just making sure this works before I spend the $50.
    Thanks!

    Broschati,
No, this won't work. The DVI port on your Macbook Pro is for video out. The Macbook Pro's display is connected directly to the GPU, and there is no way to input video to it.

  • Unsure about connecting my Xbox 360 to soundcard

I have searched this forum and looked at the stickies to determine if this is possible before posting but am a little confused so I decided to ask for clarification...
I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Professional Series installed in my PC
I am considering purchasing the Sound Blaster Digital I/O module
Is it possible to get 5. surround from my PC speakers if I connect my Xbox 360 to this setup using the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable?
Are there any downsides to doing so? Sound lag, skips, etc?

I don't really know.. I got a Auzentech Prelude with SPDIF (supporting optical) input and output and even after Dolby Li've or DTS is activated on my system I get no sound whatsoever if I activate Dolby Digital on my Xbox360?
Is it supposed to be like that? No sound when running Dolby Digital through a optical cable to my Auzentech Prelude?
Dolby Stereo works, but then again I guess it wont really utilize my 7. speaker setup at all?
Or does the sound card upmix to 7. or something, even when running Dolby Stereo on the Xbox360?
No sound at all if I select Dolby Digital or that Dolby Digital WMA thing.. I thought Auzentech Prelude supported both Dolby Digital and that WMA thing?
At least the SPDIF / Optical output does?

  • Hi been trying to  connect my xbox 360 online  and i am h...

Hi been trying to  connect my xbox 360 online  and i am having major problems  my router is a WRT54GS v.6 i have the newest firmware also i also use a  linksys  wireless adapter for my pc  i am connecting my 360 to my pc and doing internet connection sharing  i can get a ip address this way but not a dns  if i have ics off i do not get a ip address i have tried everything  opening ports on my  router for the 360 and still nothen  i am about to  break my router and get a differnt one. me need helps.

Yes, you have the ports connected backwards.
The WAN port is labelled with the "circle of dots" icon, and must be connected to your DSL modem.
The LAN port is labelled with the "double-headed arrow" icon, and that is where you connect ethernet cabled devices on your LAN.
See Apple's article AirPort Base Station: About the WAN and LAN Ports
What is surprising is that you haven't previously run into all sorts of problems with your existing setup. Once you cable things properly, you will likely have to power down your DSL modem and Base Station for a while (sometimes just an instant, sometimes overnight). After waiting, plug the modem into power and wait a minute. Then plug the base station into power and wait for it to restart.

There are only 2 ethernet ports on the snow base station. one is being used by the cable coming from my dsl modem. the other free port i tried plugging into my xbox 360 to no avail. the xbox cant get an ip address. the open ethernet port on the base station is labeled with the circle logo. the one being used by my dsl modem has the two outer pointing arrows. I turned off the airport to my macbook and tried to connect my macbook to that port my xbox was in and it would not connect to the net either. Is it possible, i have the ports backwards. my wireless internet for all 3 mac computers works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

  • Reactivate an expired Xbox 360 Entertainment for All account?

I bought an Xbox 360 Entertainment for All console from Best Buy, and after a few months I was locked out because my credit card expired and they weren't able to charge my monthly fee. I neglected to updated by credit card on the Microsoft Xbox website. Long story short, my last payment was quite a while ago, in July of 2013. I been able to use my Xbox since then.
I spoke to Xbox support, and they can only unlock my account if I pay the early termination fee of around $180. They suggested I contact Best Buy and see if they can instead resume my account and continue to charge me the $15 per month.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

    Hey vertekal,
Because the Xbox 360 Entertainment for All plan is administered and billed by Microsoft, Best Buy is not able to reinstate your subscription or make any adjustments to your monthly payments -- we do not have visibility or direct access to these records. Full details on the program and billing FAQs can also be found here. The best advice I can give would be to follow up with Microsoft to see what alternative solutions they may be able to provide.

  • Xbox 360 controller (wired) and compatability with Windows 7

Ok, here's the scoop. I have an Xbox 360 controller and a plug 'n play kit for it. I have tried the normal solutions for hooking it up and getting it to recognize in Windows 7 (32 bit) Home Prem. Edition, and all I get is it is an 'Unspecified' device in the Control Panel, and as a result, it will not be recognized in games as a controller, and will not work. I have installed the proper drivers and the 360 Accessories for Windows, but even that doesn't recognize the controller when it is plugged into my USB 2.0 port. The driver is properly installed (Windows told me the driver was installed correctly when I first plugged in my controller, after installing the program from the Microsoft website), so I have no idea why it is not working. I have followed all the stepd that I can find. Please give me some assistance.

If you already have the software installed, go to programs and features and uninstall Microsoft XBOX 360 Accessories 1.2.
    1) Download the drivers from http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=gaming
    2) Choose Gaming > Xbox 360 Controller for Windows > Windows 7 64 bit > English.
Don’t run the drivers.  Save them to a folder.
(Or Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows depending on your controller)
    3) Right click the Xbox360_64Eng file in the folder you downloaded to and click "create shortcut"
    4) Right click the shortcut you created.  Select properties.
    5) On the compatibility tab in properties, click "Run this program in compatibility mode"
Choose Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 1 as the compatibility mode. Apply setting and click ok.
    6) Right Click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator"
    7) With your controller plugged in go to Device Manager.
You should see Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class. It located under Mice and other pointing if you do, you have arrived. If you don't, try this.
Continue only if you don’t see Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class in Device Manager
    8) Right click the unknown device that shows a problem.
    9) Update Driver Software > Browse My computer for Driver Software > Let Me Pick from a List of Drivers
    10) Choose Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class > XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
    Ignore the warning.
    Should work now.
Please help :(  It's still not working!   Your suggestions helped almost everything.  I don't think there was the Microsoft Common Controller for Windows class/Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play and Charge Kit in Device Manager before I tried
your tips of reinstalling under that old service pack compatibility mode.
Now that I see that, I thought it'd be fixed... but no!  If I run joy.cpl (the Game Controllers window) it still doesn't see my Xbox controller.  It still isn't recognized by the actual 360 controller software for my PC.
I did try updating the drivers again in the device manager, and I am plugged into a Blue USB port.  What else?  Is it something to do with my battery pack or something?  Help!!
I don't know if this will notify me of a response, so please feel free to email me at smorin1487 @   gmail

  • Connecting an xbox 360 to the internet wirelessly

    Hello,
First of all I want to apologize for writing another post about this topic. I know that there are other posts about it, but I'm very busy and don't have enough time to read through them all and pick out the info I need.
I'm thinking about purchasing a TimeCapsule along with an iMac to replace the family computer. My son has an Xbox 360 and is currently connecting wirelessly to the internet using the Microsoft Wireless Adapter and a Netgear router connected to the Windows desktop. I plan to replace the Windows desktop with the iMac and replace the Netgear router with the TimeCapsule. If this is what I do, will he still be able to connect to XboxLive? Please get back to me as soon as you can!
    Thanks!

I think it only works if you use the network with 802.11b or g and a lesser security. The wireless 360 won't work with 802.11n and the wpa2 security.

  • Connecting to XBox 360 issue

Can anyone help me on this? I have the XBox 360 wifi accessory and when I go to set up my network settings, and do the search for connection to XBox Live, it tells me that it isn't connected, but I've set everything up correctly. I've called XBox and they can't help because they are idiot Microsoft people. I spent $100 bucks on this thing, they won't take it back at Gamestop, and XBox is telling me it is because of my TimeCapsule 500GB Wireless N Router that it can't connect. Can anyone help me get this thing working?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Dizzle,
The XBox 360 wireless network device won't work with 'N' mode, you you need to set your Time Capsule to b/g mode so that your Xbox can connect.
Because I prefer to have my network in 'N' mode (it's faster), the way I've done it is to purchase an Airport Express in addition to the Time Capsule.
This is how to set this up: Plug the Airport Express into a power outlet near your Xbox, then run an ethernet cable from the express into the Xbox ethernet port. In Airport Utility, set up the Express to join an existing network (the one that the Time Capsule is on) and set it up to accept ethernet clients.
If you decide to get an Airport Express, you may be able to sell your Xbox wifi unit on ebay or something.
    I hope that helps!

  • Connecting to xbox 360

Hi. When connecting my 3rd gen nano to my xbox 360 I am able to access my music but not any downloaded movies. Upon reaching the tab to select movies from an external device, the option is not highlighted thus preventing me from doing anything. I have fished around in the music menu but have found nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Btw, I have the most current update on Apple software etc. Thx

But using it for music should work, right? That's my main concern.
My entire music library is in iTunes, where it's going to stay because I find it's superior (in my opinion) to the WMP system...plus I'll be getting a Mac someday soon, so I want to be prepared.
