Connecting  Applet  to Temporary Internet Folder of Any OS

Suggest me how to Connect to Any OS Temporary Internet Folder ,inorder to down load some temporary content on to user's machine from my Java Applet programme.
Thank you,
Balaji,

hi
to read or write on the client machine through applet is directly not allowed. u have to sign ur applet and have to get the permissions for the task u r going to perform e.g read, write, or any other.
after getting the permission u can write on the local machine. and also u can find the OS default drive and also the path.
For writting u can user FileWriter or FileOutputStream.

  • Avoid to cache(save) swf files to temporary internet folder

    Hello eveerybody,
Everybody said it is impossible to do this, but this site
    http://www.kroketes.gr/gr.html doesn't save swf files
    into the temporary internet folder.
Does sombody know how it is working?
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Hello sotoodeh,
it's nonsense, sorry but this site will be cached normally
e.g. by a firerfox browser. Maybe you are not aware, that there
maybe, more than one temporary internet files directory on your
    system?
Just go again on this page, then search for start.swf on your
system. If you don't find it, than the fact that your system did
not cache the swf has nothing to do with the coding of the page but
your own system or browser properties...
There is absolutely nothing that prevents caching on this
site... the best way to prevent a browser to load content from
cache is to use a dynamic changing url, something like
    http://mysite.com/flash.php?id=2&random=2385632873...
If you have something like this random value in the url, you
can force a browser to load everything again from the site and not
from cache... that's the best way I know to prevent LOADING from
cache, not caching itself... there are also meta tags for caching,
but it depends on the browsers settings if it follows meta
    instructions like this...

  • Update Connection Proxy with temporary internet connection

    Hi,
I have a lot of systems which are not allowed to connect to the internet - and even are not allowed to connect to a system, which is connected to the internet.
Is it possible to connect the Update Connection Proxy only temporary to the internet, to download the patches. Then disconnect it and connect it to the clients to do the update on the clients.
Or is a internet connection required during the update.
    Regards,
    Hans-Juergen

It is not possible to use smpatch/updatemanager in a disconnected environment regardless of whether or not a Sun UC Proxy (aka LPS) is being used.
The reason is that there will be no way to get the data to the disconnected environment. All of the LPS download mechanisms are driven by demand from a client; there are no mechanisms for bulk downloading data which has not been requested.
So unless your clients are able to connect to the LPS while it is temporarily connected to the internet, Sun UC will not work for patching your clients.
Your best option at present would be to use patch clusters or to look into the Sun Connection 1.1.1 or xVM Ops Center software.

  • How can I get Full PDF file in temporary Internet Files folder when a PDF is opened in IE?

when a URL displaying a PDF file(http://www.google.com/Test.pdf) in internet explorer is done, the PDF file is opened in Microsoft internet explorer itself. But I observe one thing. i.e., If the PDF file is created with acrobat distiller the the PDF file opened on IE is fully obtained in Temporary Internet files, and if the PDF file is created with other than acrobat distiller(i.e., created using other PDF tools), then if the same file, then only a part of PDF(10KB-50KB) is obtained in Temporary internet files folder, and remaining is obtained by Acrxxxx.tmp in C:\Documents and Settings\Current UserName\Local Settings\temp folder. why this is happening?
consider the total size of file as 1.5MB.
In my PC, I had Adobe reader 8.1 and IE6.

Yes, I was seeing the difference between PDFs that are linearized. I had unchecked that option, still I can't get the Full PDF in temporary Internet files folder.
Are there any more settings to be changed.
Why only for some files this is happening, What was the difference b/w the files which are fully obtained in temporary internet files folder and that are of not fully obtained.

  • How can we change the default folder location (avoiding problems with Temporary Internet Files)

(Environment in question: Windows 7 secure desktop (running as user not admin), Office 2010)
    Hello,
As has been touched on in various forums (such as here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/797451), when one opens a PDF attachment in Outlook, Acrobat and Reader store the file in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder (f/k/a OLK folder in previous versions of Outlook.  There are two major problems with this:
First, as Microsoft has documented in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817878, attachments end up here staying here under certain conditions (go checks your now, you'll find some!), which ends up being a file attachment no man's land, and that can present security risks (e.g. if data we thought was deleted still lives in that folder).
Secondly, the first time you open an attachment in Acrobat and do a Save As, Acrobat is defaulting to the Temporary Internet Files location.  This folder (as noted in the thread linked above) is ridiculously hard to get to for the average user, so they can end up storing a file and then losing it.
We've found that if we open Acrobat once, do a save as, and change to the users Documents folder, the change sticks.  But how can we have Acrobat default to Documents instead of that temporary location?
      Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you check to see if Acrobat sets a registry entry or file preference for the first Save As?  That's where I would start looking.  Process Monitor is a good tool for this.

  • Upgrading to IE 10 or 11 loses abilty to see Temporary Internet Settings Folder

Win 7 Pro.  Last year, When I tried to upgrade to IE 10, I lost all my ability to keep history or login info.  Like in several different threads here, the location of the Temporary Internet Settings and the ability to set the size of the cache
disappeared.  I then downgraded back to IE 9 and it worked.  Today, I tried to upgrade to IE11, and the same thing happened.  I have studied at length the other threads here about how to change default location, changing from hidden, read-only,
system, etc.  without success.  It appears that the folder (when you try to open it) is empty, however when you look at the size of the folder it is obvious that there is data inside it.  If I change the default location, the issue recreates
at the new location, however, it frees up the old location and all of a sudden you can see the files/folders inside.  Move it back, and the problem recreates.  The folder is currently NOT hidden, NOT a system folder and is NOT read only - yet you
cannot see anything inside the folder unless you move the default location elsewhere.  I am stumped.  Please help.

  • When creating PDF I get message "This file was saved to the Temporary Internet  Files Folder"

about 80% of the time when I am creating a PDF Document using the Print to Adobe function I get the following message:
"For your computers security, this file was saved to the Temporary Internet Files folder"
"Do you want to open this folder?"
It doesn't matter if I say yes I want to open the folder or not I can never locate the file.
I am using Vista Ultimate 32. for an operating system.
I have the following programs installed too:
    Office 2007 Enterprise
    Office 2007 Project Professional
    Office Visio Professional 2007
As a antivirus I am using Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2008
    Diskeeper 2008 Pro
    Nero 8
    Quicken Home and Business 2008
    WinRar
I am using Microsoft Internet explorer V 7.0.6001.18000
Thank you for your help. I have looked everywhere and I'm lost.

You can get the same results (as turning protected mode off) by:
(presuming you have an icon for Internet Explorer on your desktop or taskbar) -- right click the icon and pick "Run as administrator"
I've got the same problem printing to pdf (Acrobat v8; problem's only in IE7) on a Dell Optiplex/Vista Business desktop machine (though not my T61/Vista Ultimate Thinkpad laptop) and the above resolves the issue for my desktop machine. Certainly not a fix but perhaps a clue to Adobe developers, on the [slim?] chance they read these posts.

  • How to clear the cache files in folder Temporary Internet Files

When one user opens files such as pdf. or doc. from Portal,  the same file will be downloaded into the Temporary Internet Files folder. if another user copied the files out of the Temporary Internet Files folder from this computer and save to someplace else, then we face one security problem.
So my question is: How to clear the cache files in folder Temporary Internet Files??  Can we delete the files automatically when close the files in Portal??
or is there some ways to make encrypty???
    Thanks very much!

    Hello,
this is a basical security problem which should be resolved by the OS standard security setup . No other user should have access to the temporary file folders in the personal directory. The user account must be secure. Normaly your security problem should not be a problem if basic security exists on the clients.
You can resolve this problem if every user has his own account on the client
The users having no administration permissions on the clients
The folder for the temporary internet files is placed in the personal profile folder of the user account.
On default no other user has access rights to you personal folder, this means the client OS is setup correctly.
You can setup the IE that no temporary files are saved (but it reduces performance)
You can enable IE to delete automaticly the temporary files if IE is closed.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards
    Alex

  • Temporary Internet Files Folder

    Ok, here's the problem...
It appears that Oracle Portal's SSO framework generates HTML that posts the user id and password for an External Application from the client machine. The problem is the HTML is cached in the Temporary Internet Files folder. If you bring up the HTML file in a text editor, you will then be able to see the user id and password.
Now I know that a lay person may have a hard time figuring all this out, but it's quite possible that a technically proficient person could break into a user's machine and steal his/her user ids and passwords.
Is Oracle aware of this security problem? If so, what can be done about it?
    Maple
    null

While it is recommended to define your External Application URL via SSL (if possible), due to the requirement for the credentials to be posted from the client, the interim page has to be in the clear in order to post the values to the external server (the communication here will be encrypted via SSL). Short of turning off local caching of documents (not really a solution) there is no immediate solution, as even setting a "no-cache" directive on the page will not guarantee that it will not be cached (browsers do not always honour this!).
Never the less, if you are actually finding this to be an issue please log an enhancement request with Oracle Support. As there a significant period between posts I would be interested to know if people have actually run into this directly.

  • My iMac is not staying connected to my wireless internet. Any suggestions?  My provider says it's a computer issue and not their problem.

My iMac is not staying connected to the wireless internet.  My provider tells me it's a computer issue and not their problems.  Any suggestions?

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
    Step 4
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 5
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 6
    Reset the PRAM.
    Step 7
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    Step 8
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

If I lost my Iphone, but when I tried to locate with ICloud - find my Iphone it's offline. I lost in another country  which means that there is no Internet connection on my phone. Is there any chance to find?

In order for a lost iPhone to be located you have to have set 'Find My iPhone' up on it before losing it, and it has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network (how else could it transmit its location) - if any of these conditions is not true then locating it is not possible. You can't use the serial number or IMEI number to locate a phone: the former is only useful to identify it as yours if it turns up, and the latter can be used by most service providers to block it, rendering it useless and preventing anyone from spending your credit.
