Connecting Audigy 2 ZS card to an Audigy Platinum EX 'Audigy Dri

I would like to connect the 'Audigy Dri've' from my Audigy Platinum EX setup to my new Audigy 2 ZS card. It seems to be physically possible - connect the Audigy 2 ZS to the Platinum EX's expansion card with the AD_EXT cable, then the expansion card to the Platinum dri've with the DS cable (I haven't looked into power supply connection issues yet). I'm wondering if there's any fundemental incompatibility between the two despite the possibility of physical connectivity. Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers,
Gareth

It looks like someone asked something similar about a year or so ago, and a moderator stated simply 'no'. Any explanation of why?

  • Audigy platinum pinouts for dri

I have an original Audigy platinum with the connections for a dri've bay - which I did not purchase. My new case allows for a front panel microphone and headphone (as well as other connections) in addition to the back panel ones. After installing the audigy card in it - these connections no longer work =(
Since the dri've bay comes with mircorphoone and headphone outputs - I assume there are appropriate pins on the dri've bay connection that (if identified) - could be connected to my computers froont panel enabeling the use of these with the audigy card and not just the sound system proved with the mobo. Does someone have accurate information about the pinouts for the dri'vebay that are on the Audigy card? And, would you be gracious enough to supply me with this information.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Greetings again and thank you Jeremy for the fast response - FYI I did look for this information on the web before coming here to post. Based on what I gathered from the article you attached was that: . I could connect my front panel headset connections to pins 0, and 2 ( General purpose output , general purpose output 2 and ground) (or should they go to the ones labeled spdif?) 2. I could connect the microphone connections to pins 5 and 6 (spdif input signal and ground) I hate to be a pain but I really don't feel like messing up anything either and maybe a moment of your time can save me a lot of issues later. Thanks in advance!!! Jim Here is the content from the post so you don't have to go back and look: This is for the Sound Blaster Li've and Sound Blaster Audigy Series Only. • LED setup on DTT3500 with Audigy Player card

First off. I've connected my Audigy Player card to the control box of the DTT3500 speakers with a digital jack to DIN cable. I have the 9th light iluminated and the third. Is it okay to cycle through the different LED's, like when i want to play games and want to listen to music? Will i loose my digital output?
Second, i have lost my Audigy driver CD, so I don't have Audio HQ etc. installed on my PC. Is there anywhere i can download them?
Third, when i try to play DVD's in PowerDVD and set the sound output to Use SPDIF my input DIN light on the decoder starts flashing and i loose my sound. I can use it with 6 speakers/Dolby. What could be the problem here?
Oh - and if i can't get Audio HQ how should i setup CTpanel?

I had the audigy zs platinum pro & DTT3500 set (connected via digital din) LED's set to....
fourpoint/5.1 din & dolby digital DIN
with just those the center speaker didnt really work, but it was the best setup i found for music/games/dvd's etc - so pretty much I was only using them as 4.1's but found it fine.

  • My SB Audigy 2 card can't use headset and musicamplifier at the same time

Hi, i just bought a SB Audigy 2 [D400] and i have downloaded drivers and programs. I run Windows XP SP2.
The soundcard works fine but it is very very annoying that i physically have to change the jack in the green=line out jack from headset to musicamplifier when i want to use my musicamplifier and change back the jack in the green=line out from musicamplifier to headset when i just want to use the headset/headphones .
In the shop they told my that i can connect both amplifier and headset at the same time and then with creative software control whether there is sound in the headset or in the amplifier. But i can't simple get it work.
I tried to use the green to the amplifier and the headset/speakers in the black (line out 2) and then with creative speaker settings softeware choose headphones but still the ampliefier receive the sound and no sound in the headphones. Why? In fact no matter what configuration i try the headphones doesn't work.
But if i change the jacks so headset is in the green line out then only headset is working and the amplifier doesn't work no matter i put it in sort=line out 2 jack or orange=line out 3 jack.
Can somebody here tell me if it is possible or not to connect both headset and external amplifier and control by software which to play? and how?
    please help, thx.
    Michael

If you can have an ASIO compatible music playing system, then it might be possible to have system like you wish when using Creative Audigy 2 card. Since ASIO bypasses Windows Audio System, you can use both 'drivers' (ASIO - WDM/MME/DS) side by side.
Say you want to play a game (using headset /w mic) and someone other like to listen music at the same time. With ASIO capable system you can output your music for example to "center L/R (stereo) channels" and same time output sounds from other source (using MME/DS/WDM drivers) to normal output channel (Front L/R). Only thing is, you need to set your speakersystem to 4 or 6 (depending which other channel you're using) (and for better 'balance' to adjust "angle" on THX console. You get the THX console by installing Audigy 2 Zs software).
    Try for example http://img332.imageshack.us/img332/463/djs9mo.jpg[/img] width="406" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" >
    Another option:
Say you want to play music through external amplifier and play game online with your headset + microphone (eg. others but you listen the music, you play games)
    --> try free http://img332.imageshack.us/img332/4589/tbp7rz.jpg[/img] width="406" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" >
If you use ASIO on BeatPort Player you can select L/R individually from the list(s). Same rules as described earlier.
= You can play from 2 different sources simultaoneusly (ASIO + WDM/MME/DS) to two different outputs without disturbance. The other (WDM/MME/DS) source is set 'automatically' output to (Audigy) "green" port, and the other (ASIO) to "black" or "orange" port (as set).

  • SB Audigy Value card Conflict with Modem re-booting my

My PC using Intel D95GAV M/B, 3.2GHz with XpSP2. On-board sound ok. Recently installed SB Audigy Value card. It is working perfectly. But with that card I can't use any modem function, any time if I dial or connecting to Internet or Outlook my PC gets re-boots. I already disabled on-board audio. different PCI slot tried. Then I replaced the Audigy card. Replaced the Modem. Audigy Value card tried with another 3 PCs. all are facing the same problem.
    Please Help me!

Unfortunately if you read the release notes for the Vista compatible driver it tells you not to use it on your particular sound card ;(?http://us.creative.com/support/downl...rtype=&x=2&y=7?Notes:
DO NOT?install this driver for Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit, Sound Blaster Audigy LS, Sound Blaster Audigy SE, or Sound Blaster Audigy Value.<However when you tell the site you have an Audigy Value card it directs you to these incompatible drivers

  • Audigy 2 card with Audigy Front Panel not worki

I've just bought a used audigy 2 card with an audigy front panel. I have installed everything and have sound from the card to my speakers.
The front panel has a blinking light on the optical out and when I plug headphones into the panel, I can hear static and control the volume of the static from the knob on the panel.
I can't hear anything else through the headphone jack and can't get any input signal using the line 2 input on the front panel.
Connections and drivers appear to be OK, am I missing something......
    Thanks,Dave.

    David,
If you go into the surround mixer or Windows mixer do you see a listing for the front panel inputs (line in2/mic in2, Aux 2, etc)? If so, are any of them muted? If you go to start/programs/Creative/SB Audigy/Audio HQ/Device Settings, do you show a headphone tab? If so what options are enabled in there?
Double check your ribbon cable connection and maybe even swap sides of the cable.

  • Attached mixing board with audigy sound card probl

i am using a mixing board with an audigy sound card the porgram im using has 2 channels a and b the music plays only on one port i used to be able to sue up the 2 different songs on 2 volume controls now both songs play in the 2 channels but sound is only controlled by one volume control?it has played properly for over 3 years with no problems until tonight?anyone have any ideas?thanks

Okay, I'm assuming you mean you have a stereo connection to rear Line-out and 2 and that you want both Line-outs to play the same stereo signal. If you are trying for something different, then post additional explanation, and we can go from there. I have not heard of an SB9400 before. You should be able to find the serial number on a white sticker on the card. That would identify the model. I think all Audigies have a Speaker Settings applet. So in Speaker Settings, do you have 4/4. speakers selected? If you have an EAX Console, do you have a CMSS3D option? (It might be called simply CMSS on some Audigies.) If so, select that. If you have a stereo surround option, select that. For the Audigy 2 ZS, for example, CMSS3D stereo surround will route the same stereo signal to Line-out & 2 (and optionally to Line-out 3).

  • New Audigy Value card completely nonfunctional in windows server 2

    Hi all,
I just bought a new Creative Audigy Value card for use in a windows server 2008 system that will control the electronic school bells system in the academy I work at. It's desperately important that we get a sound working on this server so that the bells can ring again.
Anyway, so here's the problem - the sound card, once installed, says that it is installed properly (i've used x64 vista drivers .0077 and .0065A from creative's website, installed and reinstalled several times) but in the vista system tray, it just shows the speaker with the X on it. When you click "go to mixer" it says "there are no audio devices installed."
In the audio properties, you can see the icon for the "sound blaster audigy", but although you can SEE the buttons for "configure" and "test" - clicking on them yields nothing at all.
I'm really at my wit's end here. The school needs its bell system, which this server plays through it's sound card. What can i do to get this sound card working like it's supposed to be? any ideas?

Yes, well, the box in the store had a sticker on it that said it was compatible with Windows Vista 64bit and 32bit, so I assumed that a 64bit server would be fine for it, but perhaps my assumption was incorrect.
At least if you tell me, that you're 00% sure that this card is not compatible with Server 2008, I will be able to move on and look for something else and use this card for a workstation instead.
As for the first commenter - thanks, but yeah I had already made sure that both the audio service and audio endpoint driver were automatically starting up with the server, so that's not the issue.
So, Mr/Ms Creative Moderator - I checked the page and it does not specifically mention Server 2008, just Vista. Can you let me know for sure that this card is not compatible? If you can tell me no, at least I can write it off as a stupid mistake. If you tell me that it should work though, I feel like I will have to keep trying to force this one to work.
    Thanks!

  • Audigy 2 Card Reported as Emulated in DxDi

I have an Audigy 2 card in my XPS Dimension system which has been great for a long time, but is now giving me some trouble. I am experiencing no sound or broken sound?issues with a few of the newer game titles (Supreme Commander and the C&C3 Demo), and have spent many hours looking for fixes - even trying a new Audigy 4 card for good measure. All to no benefit. I have upgraded the drivers from Creative's download site. The only thing I cannot figure out (and might be causing my problems) is that in DxDiag the card is reported as emulated.
The relevant snips from the DxDiag repor are at the bottom of this post. I can see the drivers are correct in Device Manager, but they are blank in the DxDiag report. Any smart people suggest anything to fix this emulated problem?-------------

! The analog audio line input on all of my audigy SE cards switches off at will. To get the audio through the input ,?I ?have to go into the audio control panel, into recording and toggle between line in and mic in to get the input audio to pass again. This seems to happen every time the machine is booted and has happened to me using two completely different computers,, This one is really driving me nuts!?Anyone using these cards to record???

  • Audigy LS card won't play itu

    Hi guys,
My computer is a Fujitsu Siemens Celsius Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz, 2GB of Ram and more memory than you can shake a stick at. I am running XP Pro service pack . The audio is a Creatice Sound Blaster Audigy LS 24 bit.
My problem is that I can't hear itunes through it. Everything else runs fine with sound so it's not a complete 'sound down'. itunes looks to be playing fine and downloads fine to the ipod but I can hear it through my sound card. Anyone have any ideas or have seen similar... do I need to do something with settings to make it see it....
    Many thanks
    Lindsay
ps presuming that itunes should run with an audigy LS card?

? Yeah, actually I found that a handful of the environmental changes work. For example, "small room" does work for me. However, it still is not very good. The environment effects for me make it very difficult to hear.
Sigh - this is the only driver for me that does not work correctly under Windows 7 64bit.
Hopefully there will be a new driver soon.

Cannot uninstall MediaSource software from XP system, get message (in control panel>add/remove programs): "An Installation Support File Could Not Be Installed. The system cannot find the file specified." Have tried re-installing the software, but to no avail.
Also, not sure if this is worth mentioning, but the Audigy 2 card (and software) that I have came with my Dell system.

I am getting the exact same error when I try to remove Creative MediaSource and Creative System Information from XP Add/Remove Programs ...
I am using an Audigy 2 ZS (retail) and have installed the updated drivers, yet I get the message that I cannot uninstall prior versions because of 'missing files'.
Updating the drivers and software SHOULD remove any prior installations. However, as a programmer, I understand how difficult it is to plan for every contingency.
It would be nice to be able to totally remove all vestiges of the software and driver before installing new drivers.
Redundant out-of-date software leads to more memory leaks than poor programming.

my itunes keeps telling me to contact support when i try to connect a visa card and will not let me buy music. any ideas why?

No one here can say specifically why. But you need to do what it says, contact iTunes Support. Click the Suppor tab above then the link under the Contact Us area and you'll be take to a page where you'll be guided appropriately.

  • How do I connect both TCCP cards to the LAN?

    Hi,
I cannot find this in the documentation anywhere so I apologize if this is rather simple. How do I connect both TCCP cards of 15454 to the LAN? I know the cards have a hub between them so plugging them both into a single switch (or multiple switches) will cause spanning tree problems. Is there a way to connect them both to the LAN simultaneously so that if one fails, the other is available for management access?
Thanks in advance for the help.
    Matt

Never mind. I wasn't thinking. If I'm attaching a hub or switch to a switch, I just have to let spanning-tree block one port. If that port fails, spanning tree can transition the other port to forwarding. I was so focused on making this a host/access port I forgot my other options.
Thanks for the feedback about craft ports too.

  • I want LR to launch when I connect a CF card

    Hi all,
everytime I connect my card reader to my MacBookPro Aperture opens automagically. On my PowerMac it's iPhoto that starts.
In both LR installations I checked the "Show import dialog when a memory card is detected" option in the Preferences dialog -- obviously to no avail (or I didn't get the point here).
I want LR (1.1) to launch when I connect my memory card but I don't know where/how this is stored in Mac OS X.
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Stefan.

One hidden place to look is in your Image Capture utility. Open its Preferences, click the General tab, and check which program is set to open when you connect a camera.
Most people don't look there because they don't use the utility, and yet it seems to be a major influence on which program opens.

  • MDD can't recognize drive connected via PCI card

    Hello there,
I tried connecting a new Maxtor ATA100 drive to my MDD via a Sonnet TEMPO ATA100 PCI card. Everything works OK except that the drive doesn't mount. Disk Utility doesn't "see" it and get this, ... when I tried opening System Profiler to see if the PCI card was recognized, the following was displayed at the bottom of the About This Mac window: Opening border_right.gif. Preview then launched and opened such gif image!
I used the ribbon cable that came with the drive and its jumper was set to Cable Select. I could connect the drive to the on-board ATA66 bus but I would like to solve this issue and make it work. Any thoughts?
    Thanks again,
    Jacobo

    Rodney,
Thanks again for your reply. Believe or not the problem was a loose power connection! The card was recognized and the drive mounted. However, the PCI card only recognized 128 GB (of the 500). Must have been an old one, so it came out.
    Thanks again,
    Jacobo
