Connecting Audigy to two comput

My son uses a two computer set up with a KVM switch. One computer is used as a jukebox and the other for creation of new music. He wants to connect his Audigy and 5. speakers so that it is available to both computers. The KVM switch has sound connections but these are for 2. sound only - I guess that some kind of switch box would do the job but advice would be welcome

You didn't mention, which version of Audigy your brother has.
Would his sources be stereo only from the non Audigy system? If yes, then he can just send/receive audio through analog I/Os or digital (S/PDIF) I/Os from non Audigy PC to Audigy. If LineIn on Audigy is already reserved, he can connect to AUX-In or CD Audio connectors found from Audigy board (4- pin connectors). I.e. connect the other PC audio system like he would connect any external audio device into Audigy.
On Audigy then, to get signal inputted, he needs just to enable the proper Source channel and CMSS processing to get the stereo source processed into multichannel output. If it don't work directly then through some software like Hermann Seib's VSTHost http://www.hermannseib.com/english/ w/ or w/o processing plugins.

Sync problem - earlier today I updated both iTunes and my iPod Touch. Since then, I have tried syncing the two. The iPod Touch claims that there is no music on the iPod, however, when I connect it to my computer it says my full library is on there. At present, I am unable to listen to songs on the iPod when not connected to the computer. What can I do to fix this?
    Thanks for any help!

    - Have you reset your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to backup your iPod and then restore you iPod from backup via iTunes.

  • Does Firefox have some kind of firewall??? Recently I can't print or connect to my work computer remotely. Two things I was always to do in the past.

Recently I can't connect to my work computer remotely and I can't print things even when I am using my desktop which is directly connected to the printer. If I go to Internet Explorer or AOL I have no problems but since I mainly use Firefox this has become a major problem.

I encounter similar problem. My TC detects my OKI printer which is connected to the TC via USB but I can't print unless I connect my printer to the TC via Ethernet. Would anyone know how to solve it. Thanks.

  • I get a recurrent request to connect by wi-fi to another computer on my wi-fi network, even if I am already connected to this other computer by wi-fi.  How do I get rid of this recurrent request?

I have two MacBook Pros on my local wi-fi network.  I usually have these connected to each other over my wi-fi network.  Normally, I only connect to my old computer (MacBookPro) from the new computer (MacBookPro2), so I can access files on my old computer that are typically not on my new computer.  I use the same admin username (John Doe) and password on each computer.  Currently, I have Mavericks (10.9.5) on my old computer and Yosemite (10.10) on the new MacBook Pro.  All
I am now getting a recurrent request to connect to old computer even when I am already connected!  When this request is being made, I am asked to connect to a username (johndoe instead of John Doe).  The exact alert:
Enter your name and password for the server "MacBook Pro".
connect as     << button is pressed for Registered User >>
         Name: johndoe
         Password: _________
         << Cancel button >>  << Connect button >>
When I enter correct user name (John Doe or johndoe) and password for my account on Mavericks computer, the connection fails (whether I connected to Mavericks computer or not), and I get the following:
There was a problem connecting to the server "MacBookPro".  The share does not exist on the server.  Please check the share name and try again.
If I change to the proper share name John Doe and use the correct password, I still am not connected and I get the same failure message and am asked to use the correct share name again.  If I cancel message, the connection message goes away for a while whether I am actually connected to old computer or not. It will then come back on the workspace I am currently using on my new macbook.  When I am downloading files using terminal, the connect request comes up constantly if I continue canceling the message which is really irritating.  How do I get rid of this constantly recurring request to connect???

It means you must be connected to your computer via Wi-Fi (or cable).
    Or wait for iOS 5

  • Connecting to an offsite computer

I know this topic has been up before, but it's sooo confusing: I want to connect to my work computer (I own business - I am the IT person - sad that it is) from my home computer. I have read past posts and I just don't get it. There is no documentation from Apple as to how to do it. Ads for Leopard just said you can do it if you have a later model router - so I went out and bought the Airport extreme for both home and work. Now I'm lost. Help!

I want to do several things. I have two computers I would like to access from my home computer (mirror door G4 with 10.5.5): 1)Intel Mac Pro (10.5.5) - has image and data files that I would like to copy, change, add, delete and work on the files from my computer at home, and 2) an Intel Mac Mini (10.5.5) that functions as a server computer for my business management software - I would like to be able add, change, delete files as well as run the business management server software from my home 'client' software. Can I run the server software at work from my client software at home or will I need to get control of the Mac Pro to run the client software from there? My network at work has 9+ computers, Apple airport extreme, with switches and such running around. My network at home has an Apple airport extreme, with 2 computers.
Since posting on the Apple Discussions, I hired a consulting person to come in and figure this all out. He set up the work computers and gave me screen shots for how to set up my home computer, along with screen shots to configure the work computer (in case I needed to re-do the configuration). He set me up with VPN, an account with dyndns.org. Then left me on my own. Well, it doesn't work and now I'm stuck. I think he missed something somewhere. I'm afraid I wasted my money. Now I need to figure out where it all went wrong. Help!

  • C'ant connect to my old computer from my new.

I am new in networking. There is my problem:
    I am using 2( I-mac). One is a G OS 10.5.8 and the other is a 3.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 10.6.2.
I created a local network through a wireless Lynksys router.
On each computer I selected (share files) on the preferences.
I am able to connect to my new computer from my old one but I cant connect to my old from my new computer. When I try to connect to my old, I have this message: It's possible that the G server doesn't exist or is not available. Verify the name or the IP address of the server of your local network and try again.
Is somebody there who can help me.
    Thank-you

Thank-you for the help but still cant connect from the new computer. It works fine from my old and the settings are the same on both. When I try to connect from my new computer, I see my old computer name under Share menu then I select it and it try to connect and it fail. A technician at Apple told me that it might be a firmware problem. I am not please with this answer. Two I-Mac that can't connect?........

  • Multiple Ipods connected to the same computer

Is it possible to have two Ipds connected to the same computer, synchronizing with two separate Itunes libraries ?

Yes, here is an article that lists 3 methods. I prefer method 2, but it's a personal preference.

  • Connecting to a remote computer

    Hi all,
I have recently started working on a website using
dreamweaver. I don't have a good experience building website. I
need to connect to a emote computer to download data sitting there.
The data is stored as a text file. I need to doknow how to do that
with both option, i mean if there is a fire wall or with a
    firewall.
    Thanks!!

Well, the two that are networked, you could set up a 'shared'
    directory, so
that either or both computers can read and write to, then
    simply store this
file in this directory and both can get to it whenever.
As for the remote computer not networked to yours, well
    unless you have
physical access to it, to get it onto a flash drive, portable
    hard drive
etc, you are looking a bit limited, without email. Unless you
    can get the
person to set up some sort of ftp access or the like, shared
    directory with
password access, you might be SOOL.
    Cheers,
    Brendon
ps. there may be other options, but they allude me at the
    moment.

  • Two computer - 1 ipod

I read the information for having two computers and one ipod. My question is I sync'd my ipod with my main computer and used it for a few weeks. I wanted to sync it to another computer but when I did I accidently made that one the home computer and lost everything that was previously on there. What should I do when I hook it back up to the main computer to make sure this doesn't happen again?

Connect it to the computer you do not want it to update with.
    iTunes prefs -> iPod.
    Select Manually update songs.
I'd like to stop using my laptop for the itunes, but my laptop is the one where I bought stuff through, now how to I get those into my desktop so I don't loose them?
Get them onto the desktop somehow (network, burn cd, whatever).
Get them into iTunes. Log into the iTMS.
Play the song and it will now be authorized to work on that computer.

  • Having trouble merging libraries to keep them in synch between two computer

I recently purchased Aperture for a laptop and desktop setup. I basically want to keep the library complete on the two computers. I typically add photos on the laptop, but would like to then import that library into Aperture on the desktop so I have everything in the two places. I have tried this using a simple test library on both and when I import a library (by connecting to the other computer and then using the import library menu) the photos all seem to go over, but in reality, if I select one photo and ask it to show me the location in the finder, it says that the disk is unavailable or offline and it provides reference to the source computer, not the one I am using. In fact, if I make that volume available again on the computer, Aperture still gives me the same warning.
If I tell it to consolidate (and copy) the masters, it throws the error.
I am using referenced Masters (when I setup the libraries, I provide a custom folder structure in the menu system so it auto creates a year/project hierarchy. The reason I use referenced Masters is that on the macbook, I have just found through testing that both my wife and I can share the library if it is in Shared folder and we use referenced Masters rather than the library.
I was hoping someone can help me figure this thing out!
    Thanks for any help...
    Chuck

I wish you had a reply and answer here.  I know exactly what you are talking about and have the same issue.  It makes no sense to have the file/track in an addtional different location when u have original file/track being played through itunes in its original location, in My music.  I am experiencing though with it and I am starting to believe you don't need the addtional track in the Itunes Media folder or vice versa in not needing tracks in My Music and keeping ones in Itunes Media.  Sorry hope that makes sense.

  • Multiple iPod shuffles to connect to the same computer

Is there any special instructions to have two iPods that my family would want to connect to the same computer?
Each family member has our own playlist and we'd like to update our own iPod shuffles with our own playlists. The first iPod shuffle we bought works fine, but I'm having trouble getting the second iPod to be recognized.
thanks in advance for your help

    Marc,
I have two iPod Shuffles supported by a single Dell Desktop running Windows XP/SP2. I'll relate my experience and hope that helps you. My first Shuffle was a 512Mbyte. I installed the iTunes software from the CD that came with the Shuffle, and then plugged the Shuffle into the USB port at the bottom front of the Dell. It was recognized by Windows and by iTunes and I was directed to register the Shuffle with Apple. I named the Shuffle and that name appears in the iTunes Source List. Then I acquired a 1Gbyte Shuffle for my wife. I DID NOT re-install iTunes from the new CD (although I made sure that the existing iTunes was the latest version 4.7.1). Now with iTunes open, I plugged my wife's Shuffle into the same USB port as I use for my Shuffle. Once again, the new shuffle was recognized by both Windows and iTunes and, once again, I was asked to register the second Shuffle and give it a name (of course, different from the other Shuffle). Now both Shuffles appear in the Source List. I only plug one Shuffle in at a time, and the Shuffle that's plugged-in has a little "up-arrow" appear to the right of its name in the Source List. I am the administrator and only user of the Dell, so there's no "partitioning" problems that might screw up the support of multiple Shuffles -- your family members may have separate accounts on your computer, but I'd suggest that only one (and always the same) user logon to access iTunes and the Shuffles.
    Good luck.

  • Connecting iPod v2.3 Computer Freeze

It's an old iPod (15GB right before click-wheel standard).
I recently connected it to my computer and not only iTunes froze up, but most of my other computer applications as well.
I received a component transfer error (Error 142) after a while. After many hard resets and computer resets and shut downs, I still had the same problem. iTunes will work fine alone, and so will the iPod (though it's unstable battery-wise).

If it does not have a click wheel, but it does have a Dock connector, it is a 3rd gen iPod. It is designed to be connected over FireWire, not USB. So if you are using USB, that may be the problem. It may be able to sync over USB when it is fully charged, but it can only charge when connected by FireWire. You also cannot use the Restore function in iTunes, unless there is a FireWire connection.
The only way to use it reliably with USB is to get this special two-ended Docking cable.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9688G/A?mco=MTIxODk3Mw
You connect the USB end to your computer and connect the FireWire end to the white square wall charging adapter (which also must be the FireWire type), so that it can sync and charge at the same time.

  • My ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer

So my ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer! it was working fine then outta no where it wouldnt wanna turn back on. i tryed resetting but it doesn't do anything. Also when i put it on the charger it seems to get pretty hot...is the normal? help please...

There are two different causes of this, either it has been overheated, or the iPod just crashed.  If it crashed, there is one simple step to fixing it.  Letting the battery die.  Do not connect to a charger port, or the device may get overheated, and need to be replaced.  Once it dies, it normally will show the icon, that is needs to be charged. Once you charge it back up, it should go back to normal.  If this doesn't help, then contact apple to the nearest store about getting a replacement.

Take a look at the troubleshooting steps provided by Apple in this support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    Hope those help.
Your iPod touch will never appear in Windows Explorer, by the way. It doesn't have the "disk mode" that the older iPods did.
