Connecting backup server to brocade switch help
Hi all
We are implementing a new backup server for our SAN, the server currently had one connection to our brocade switch, is it possible to put a second connection to the brocade switch from the server? and will it team them or become a failover connection, I believe the FC card in the server is Q Logic

There are no restrictions whatsoever to how many ports you use to connect from your server to the switch. I had a single server that used 16 ports to each switch.
I was wrong with the first post as I got sidetracked talking about how FC does trunking. You can't trunk from the server to the switch. It does from switch to switch though. The server multipathing software manages the traffic to the storage array normally in a round robin approach.
If you just have a backup server <-> switch <-> FC tape drive, the traffic is managed by the backup media agent. Backups are pretty simple as tape drives are just one thing. They are not like storage arrays.
As far as broadcast goes, look up RSCN.
FC networking is different to IP so get a book and read up about it.

This problem affects many (including myself) and seems to be a bug in the integration of the FB app in iOS 7.
You can get around the login problem by turning Settings/Privacy for FB off. However, after you turn that Privacy setting back on after logging in, then iOS 7 will continue to pester you with pop-up messages to enter the password in Settings. This will invariably fail with the error message that you have already experienced, but at least it gives a way of logging in.
The solution will in my view have to come jointly from Apple and FB. -

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer..)

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

How do I get Safari to connect to server on I-Pad 2? I get the message "Connection to server has failed",
Please help! Needless to "say". this question is not being sent from my I-Pad.Tthank you for your reply. After much frustration,I shut the I-Pad completely down, pushing both the side button and top button simultaneously until only the apple logo appeared on the screen. Miraculously , the e-mail appeared and everything is now back to normal.
For future reference, what under "general" do you do to get "reset"? I'm not tech-savvy as I'm sure this statement indicates.
I'll appreciate a response and thank you again.

Can we connect single server to the multiple switches?
Hello Team,
I want to redesign the Client network in order to provide network availability and fail over. I have designed attached diagram. I have doubt if we can connect a server having multiple NICs to different uplink switches.
let say NIC1-2 is connected to Uplink Switch1 and NIC3-4 is connected to uplink Switch2. I want to do this so that if uplink switch1 dies then still server would be accessible via switch2.
is there would be any problem like mac address flapping? also, I know we can configure NIC teaming but i am not too sure how that would be helpful with my attached setup.
can you guys please look at the attached diagram and provide me your inputs?

If you have a backup of your information on your computer, I would suggest putting your phone into recovery mode, by holding down the home key and keeping it held down while you connect it by usb into your computer with itunes running. Keep the home button held down until it indicates recovery mode, and proceed with the restore.

If you're trying to connect to a Bonjour server on the remote network, that won't work over a layer 3 VPN. Use something like Hamachi or one of the SSH-tunnelling Bonjour proxy apps for that. -
Just upgraded to Lion an am discovering that I cannot send email photos from within iPhoto. Error message says bad Internet connection or server not working, when that's not the case. Never happened in Snow Leopard! Help!!!

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
If nothing above helped, restart your router.
No data is lost due to a reset. -

I need help authenticating my outgoing server settings in setting up my work email on my Galaxy S5. It says unable to authenticate or connect to server and I even called helpdesk at my email support and they tried every possible port (80, 25, 3535 or 465 SSL) and none of them work. Please help!
You will need to get the required info to create/access the account with an email client from your school.
Are you currently accessing the account with an email client on your computer - if you have a Mac with the Mail.app, or if you have a PC with Outlook Express, etc.? If so, you can get the required account settings there. -
updated to ios6 on my ipod touch 4g when i try to turn it on it doesn't, it just comes up with the itunes symbol and the usb, so i plugged into laptop opened itunes and it says to restore back to ios5 i pressed restore and it cant connect to server? help?
Maunally restore it. In order to do this:
-Download the iOS 5.1.1 firmware from here http://www.redmondpie.com/download-5.1.1-ios-for-iphone-4s-4-3gs-ipad-ipod-touch -direct-official-links/
1. After downloading the firmware from the given link, open iTunes and click on your device.
2. Now press SHIFT on your keyboard and while pressing it click on "Restore".
3. A dialog box will appear.
4. Select the firmware you downloaded and click ok.
5. Done!!! Your iPhone will now be restored to 5.1.1 and if you had backed up your iPod before, then you can put all its settings afterwards. -
after updating to ios 6.1.2 ipad2 ended up in restore mode, i have restored it and now i need this morning's the backup that's only on icloud
but after i login (succesfully) and acept terms & condition popups an error "Connection Error - server error: apple id couldnt be created" or "impossible to login there has been a problem while connecting with server" when it should start setting up the ipad.
any clues on whats going on? i really need this backup. what can i do? there is any other way to restore using the icloud backup from somewhere else?
