Connecting by cable to AEBS
On my return from holiday I fired up the AEBS and then my PB which eventually connected wirelessly. However, my wife's iMac, which is connected via cable to the AEBS (v 5.7), can no longer connect to the internet. Nor, upon expirementation, can my PB. So, I can connect wirelessly, but not via cable. Running the diagnostics with the ethernet cable connected gives an amber on network settings and it does not seem to pick up the assigned IP address that it does with Airport switched on. Manually assigning an IP address gives a green light but then I get a message saying "Network settings changed by another application" and I get an odd IP address assigned. I have done a hard reset of the the AEBS and ractory settings load, all to no avail. I have also tried different ethernet cables. Is the ethernet connection on the AEBS faulty?
Any help appreciated, thanks
I don't have any answers but I have the exact same question, only for a DSL Modem. We just got a DSL modem and it works on my mom's Sony PC but not on my Mac.
However- I HAVE used this Mac with a number of different high-speed ethernet connections in net cafes and so on using the same port, so I am 100% certain that the ethernet connection works.
I've tried everything you have except for factory settings load... I wanted to check here first.
The ISP told me to call Mac, but since I already know that the ethernet connection works, I cannot imagine what the problem is. Continually restarting both machines is not doing any good.
If I find a solution I'll be sure to post here.

My Canon MX 922 does not scan. My printer is connected via cable. Wireless doesn't work either. I get an error message with multiple suggestions but none of them apply to my situation.
I am so dissatisfied with this printer. I'm sorry I got it from Amazon because now it is a hassle to return it. I will never buy another Canon.
The printer menus are confusing. I hate using it. I loved my previous Canon which finally stopped working after many years, that's why I purchased a newer Canon model. Never again. Stick with cameras.
Marcy HotzThis note won't be as angry and frustrated as the last one...
Because I still had my old printer drivers and other applications on my hard drive, I think the application was trying to connect with the old printer. I deleted all the old stuff.
I also had several scanning applications on my drive which just confused me.
When I used the actual Canon MX922 application, I was able to scan but could only save as JPG, TIF or BMP (and one more, I forget which). So I did some research on the Canon site and found out how to save documents as PDF files using the Canon IJ Scan Utility.
It works now. So I'm satisfied, will keep this maching. I just had to take some time, sit down and focus on the problem. -

Cannot connect via cable on Windows XP home SP2
Good Afternoon,
Maybe you can assist me here.
I cannot connect via cable my N91 (4 gb hdd) to Windows XP Home SP2. I can however connect via cable to my work computer which has the OS Windows XP Pro sp2.
In both cases both OS's are up to date, I have updated the phone OS to v2.10.013 RM-43. I am using the most up to date drivers that is available on nokia.com as well as the current ed of PC Suite (6.82.22.0)
The following is the steps I followed in both cases starting with XP Pro
1. Installed Drivers
2. Installed PC Suite
3. When prompted by PC Suite connected Phone via cable to Computer, further install steps were required. No reboot required. PC Suite then picked up phone
XP Home
Followed steps 1 + 2 in the same order
3. Connected N91 to XP Home computer, after driver install activity rebooted computer as requested. Disconnected N91 On reboot to desktop, in PC Suite I clicked on Get connected. Select Cable connection when prompted attached cable to computer and then to phone, on the phone select PC Suite. .
At this point I get the hour glass and nothing happens, Next is ghosted. It has been like this for 20 mins.
I have uninstalled both the drivers and the software. For some reason the updater can connect to the phone.
Can you advise on what I can do.Hi
Sounds lik ethe PC is having issues seeing it. Try this
/discussions/board/message?board.id=pcsuite&message.id=11480
Try this first:
1. Go to Windows' Control Panel and open "Add or Remove Programs" application.
3. Select "PC Connectivity Solution", click "Change" and then "Repair".
4. After Repair, restart PC

Kernel Panic when I connect USB cable to use Rane Serato SL3
Connect USB cable to use Rane Serato SL3 causes the following kernel panic. Used cable is an 5 meter USB-2 cable. This is 100% reproducable.
Yes yes I know Rane does not officially support Mavericks yet however if I use another (shorter) USB-2 cable with the Rane Serato SL3 it's no problem. I also have an older Rane Serato SL1 and this device works (USB-1) perfect with the same 5 meter USB-2 cable and the same short USB-2 cable.
I've taken the liberty to ask Rane what's going on and no succes there. They just don't seem to know.
So you smart people over here, what's going on?

Boot into safe mode (restart holding down SHIFT key). If no KP, then disable these, reenable one at time to determine which. If KP, then most likely hardware related. Run the Apple Hardware Test suite, extended tests at least twice, followed by Rember. See

Can't connect via cable, but wireless works.
iMac, Leopard, iTunes, all current. AppleTV only shows up when I disconnect my ethernet cable. At that point my Airport base station (older version) makes the connection. If I turn Airport off in the OS, still no go. I've tried multiple cables too. I've also tried my Macbook pro.
I obviously want the wired connection for greater speed and since the ATV is in the room right next to the computer it's no big deal to run a cable. I swear I had this all running correctly under Tiger, but now I'm starting to wonder if it had been wireless all along and I never realized it.
Help!Hi,
I had the same problem and this worked for me -
Go to System Preferences/Sharing and enable "Internet Sharing" where it says "Share your connection from" choose Airport and where it says "To computers using" select the ethernet port that you've connected the cable from the ATV to on your computer.
Go to System Preferences/Security/Firewall and if you've selected the last option "Set access for specific services and applications" add iTunes to the list by clicking the + and navigating to it.

I have connected my ipad to my computer and logged into iTunes website. On my iPad to restore my my data Ipad I have chosen language, country then it asks you to connect with cable and log into iTunes, I have done that, but cannot find this other information I need to restore from the website. Can you help me please? the 2 replies, I thank you, but this has not helped with my problem.
Your post is somewhat confusing. To restore your iPad you use the iTunes application on your computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in the left column of iTunes on your computer and select General in the right column. You should find the restore choice there.

how to connect hdmi cable on hp g60 to sony bravia lcd?
Hello sohagshahin,
It appears that your HDMI port is not working on the notebook. I will try to assist with this.
Have you verified that the port indeed does not work by trying other tv's or monitors? (try one of each if possible).
Have you tried other HDMI cables?
This document may also help you: Resolving HDMI Display and Sound Issues (Windows 7 and Vista).
Let me know how things go.

the only way for you to plug a coax cable directly in is if you have a tv tuner card that has QAM 256 support.
a lot of cable cards don't, you may need to plug a STB in the middle of it for it to work
so wall coax to stb, stb coax to your PC. -
Can I connect my cable box to my 2011 iMac
Can I connect my cable box to my 2011 iMac
If you are setting up to use Wi Fi connect the Ethernet cable to the cable box then to the router.
Some companies like Comcast have online manuals available online for instructions. Check your cable company's web site. The manuals should be available in PDF format.

i cant connect my iphone to laptop. its nither charging nor connecting usb cable is okay .... can any one help ?? pls...
BOB we need you urgently
Perhaps Bob will see this thread, he is the professor in these cases.
You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
I want to test 2 other things:
1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect. -

Nokia N8 - Connect USB cable to device
My new nokia N8 is constantly coming up with the message "connect usb cable to device".
I'll click ok and 2 minutes later it will reappear.
When i connect it to a usb, it disappears but will then reappear when i unplug. I've tried updating software but none is available, and there is no programs running on the phone.
When i turn off and on i still get the same problem.
Anyone know of a solution before i throw it against the wall?vvaino wrote:
Ok,
Have you tried the trick you can find from the phone's
manual; long press the on/off button (for 8-10 sec) until the
phone vibrates three times? With this, you don't lose any
of your information.

That's barely a trick
it just kills the power to the phone and is esentialy the same as using the on off switch
anyway as to the OP don't know
you could try resseting the device type *#7370# into the dialer,
this will restore the phone to an out of box stateand you will loose all of your settings
see if that helps
