Connecting CANON MP PIXMA 620 to new network
I recently got a new WiFi network and can't figure out how to set my wireless printer up to it. I have gone to Device Settings --> LAN Settings --> Wireless active; However, I can't seem to find out where I can choose the new network and put in the network key.
To change the network settings in the MP620, you will need to connect the printer to your Mac via USB cable. This will create a USB printer in Print & Fax, so you will now have two MP620's (unless you already have both printers in the list). Since the current network printer in the list will not work any more, you can remove this by selecting it and then pressing the minus button. Note that the network printer will show the printer name followed by the MAC (network) address in brackets.
With the USB printer selected, click on Options & Supplies and then select the Utility tab. Now click 'Open Printer Utility' to access the Canon IJ Printer Utility. With the menu showing USB, the MP620 should be seen. Select it and then press the Network Settings button. This will now let you reconfigure the settings for your new wireless network.
After you have entered the necessary settings, turn off the MP620, unplug the USB cable and then turn the printer back on. It should now connect to your wireless network. Open Print & Fax again and select + to add the network printer. Select the Default view and the MP620 should be seen, probably first as a Bonjour Scanner, but if you wait you will also see it shown as 'canonijnetwork'. This is the printer connection so select this - the Print Using menu should change to Canon MP620 series. Click Add to complete the print queue creation.

BUG: Access Connect Abort, when I create a new network profile.
Where can I report bugs?
My system is windows xp sp2 on X60.
I have been using AC-4.42(Access Connection) for a long time. And before, there is no problem when I added new network profile into it.
But yesterday, I wanted to add a new profile into it. I opened the "create profile" window and input the name of the new profile (I have two network adapters, wired and wireless. So by default, the both are selected. And I left the default selection unchanged.), then "Next". The 2nd window is about wireless config, I configured everything, then go on "Next", at this moment, an error occured and AC aborted with four error windows. The titles of those windows are "ACMainGUI.exe error" and "ACMainGUIWnd: ACMainGUI.exe".
Then I did it again, I opened the "create profile" window, and this time, in this (1st) window, I changed the selection of network adapter, besides inputing the name of the new profile. I only selected the wired adapter, and then "Next". Sadly, this time the 2nd(next) window did not appear(pop up) at all. Instead, those four error windows poped up one by one. AC aborted again.
I repeated the above operations many times, and everytime, AC aborted.
So I went to the online "support and download" to look for some updates about AC. And I found AC-4.52 with luck. After downloading and installing, unfortunately the problem still exists. AC-4.52 still aborts when I create a new network profile.
So now, what to do. I have no ways. I am expecting the developers could note this problem and fix it and give me a newer update as soon as possible.
Sigh...I have exactly the same issue. Next to the actions mentioned by ixbm I have also fully uninstalled and reinstalled the AC-4.52, but this didn't help.
Any idea on how to solve, installing older version?

We have the following problem. Our customer has the following equipment
Dell Latiude E7440 and Targus Docking stations (ACP70EU).
On every workplace is a dockingstation, now the Dell machine connects to the dockingstation and a new network adapter is created (Ethernet 3)
When we configure the 802.1x setting the client can connect to the network.
When we move the Dell machine to another workspace with another dockking station. the windows machine creates a new network adapter (ethernet 4) with the default windows settings (Window Protect Eap)
etc.
Do you know if there is a registry setting we can adjust so that every new network adapter gets the correct Windows Certificate settings?

You can accomplish this through Group Policies. There is a VERY helpful guide to enable Certificate Templates and dot1x configuration on the client in the Partner GOLD Labs.

How to connect old aiport express to my new Airport Extreme?
I have a PC running with Win7 and just replaced my Jensen With a brand New Airport Extreme.
I have set up the Airport Extreme to the internet, Iphones and Ipads and it work as it should.
I have downloaded latest Version of Airport tool on my PC. In addition i have downloaded the airport tool for Ipad.
I have reset one of my airport Express and it now shows up both on the Ipad and on the PC airport tool.
My Ipad says "base station e5713b cannot be configured."
I have wired the airport Express to my Ethernet to be able to "see it" on my Airport tool.
My AirPort tool on the PC will not permit me to add the airport Express to my new Airport Extreme network (no network names on the drop-down list to choose from). I wished for an easy set-up, but nothing seems to be plug and play as the Commercial says.. can you please help me?

Yep - I in fact have two A1088 and one A1264
I actually bought the new router because the Jensen
router always lost connection to the Airport Express after some hours or days. I
always needed to restart my Jensen to play music and that was driving my wife
mad. The hope was that the Extreme should fix this. Both A1088 have been set up
to only stream music to two of my stereo amplifiers from my PC’s Itunes library.
Are the A1088 now useless?
The A1264 has been set up to feed internet into a Denon Reciever that needed Ethernet cable.

I have an airport extreme and express, if I use the extreme as a base station connected to my old router can I use the express to extend the signal while also creating a new network that only I can use? Essentially having two wifi connection off the same network? If so how do I set this up?
Extending using a wireless connection always results in a performance compromise.
If the Express is going to extend using a wireless connection, then the Express will need to be located about half way between the AirPort Extreme and the general area where you need more wireless coverage. The more that you have line-of-sight between the Extreme and Express, the better the network will operate.
Remember......the Express can only "extend" the quality and signal speed that it receives, so it needs to be located where it can get a very good signal from the Extreme. Although Apple cleverly uses the term "extend", a more accurate term for the Express would be "repeater".
If the Express will extend by connecting to the Extreme using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection......highly recommended for best performance.....then the Express can be located exactly where you need more wireless coverage. There is no signal loss at all through the Ethernet cable, so the Express gets a full speed signal no matter where it might be located.

I bought a brand new iPad 3 and an Apple TV, both connected to the same wpa protected wifi network from home. It worked for a day, but when I woke up, the Apple TV couldn't be found anymore by either iPad, MacBook or iPhone. Anybody a solution for this?
Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.

I have a Apple imax only about 9 months old. I need a new printer. I am looking at a Canon MX926 PIXMA. Do I have Airprint or do I need to purchase it? I am a novice with Apple and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If your iMac is only 9 months old, it probably comes with OS X Mountain Lion, and it includes AirPrint, so you do not need to purchase anything else apart from the printer (which is compatible with AirPrint).

I've been having an issue of connecting to wifi. I have restored and set up my phone as a new one and i still can't connect. Also i have restored my network setting also. The wifi button is still grey and i cant switch it on or off.

my home network has a pair of Mac minis and a few windoze machines, sometimes my iPhone, printer, and an Airport Express. I just switched from cable to fiber optic (FIOS) & renamed my netwrk and selected a new WEP password. Everything is back up except the Airport Express which I use to stream music to my powered speakers. Figured I need to re-set it up with the new network name & pword, but the airport utility isn't seeing it ... I tried connecting it directly to my router with a cat5 cable but no good - the status LED just blimks yellow, and I can't see it to configure it. Like a Catch-22; I can't configure it till I get it on the network, and I can't get it on the network till I configure it - how is this supposed to work?

lmd2You need to reset the AirPort Express back to factory default settings so that AirPort Utility can see it.
Pull the AX from power
Wait a few minutes
Hold in the reset button and keep holding it an additional 8-10 seconds while you simultaneously plug the AX back in the power
Release the reset button after the hold period and allow 40-45 seconds for the AX to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
If you want to configue the AX using wireless, you must first log on to the signal the AX is broadcasting for setup purposes. Look for a wireless network with a name like Apple Network xxxxxx. The open AirPort Utility.
Or, temporarily connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the AX and then open AirPort Utility to configure the AX again to "join" your new wireless network.
By the way, WEP has not been considered secure for a few years now, since it is easily cracked with free utilities readily available on the Internet You might want to consider using a more secure setting, like WPA2 Personal for your wireless network. -
Trying to connect to new network
How can I set it up so that a general user can connect to a new network?
Right now my macbook pro requires an admin password before connecting to a new wifi network. In other words when a user that is not an admin tries to connect to a new wifi network the pop up displays indicating that it is locked and an admin password is required.
Is there a way to remove this restriction so that a non admin can connect to wifi without the mac's admin password. -
New network created every time I connect

I have an E51 connected to Windows 7 Home Premium using Ovi Suite 2.2.0.241. Every time I connect to the Internet, a new network is created in Windows (called "Nokia E51 USB Modem (Nokia Ovi Suite) 2", 3, 4, etc.) and I'm asked whether it's a Home, Work, or Public network.
Why isn't the same network reused? I didn't have this problem with PC Suite.
Glen.After connecting first time (Which you have done) you can always click the connection manager in windows taskbar, and dial connection from there, (just don't dial via Ovi suite, it won't create new connection)

I have a new Macbook Pro and an old Canon ip Pixma 8500. I have downloaded the software from Canon but my printer settings will still not register it. Looks like I can print a colour calendar but not a letter!
Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
New problem connecting Canon 20D camera to OS 10.4.7
Hi, I'm new to the forum but have foud you having looking for an answer to a problem i have had. re: New problem connecting Canon 20D camera to OS 10.4.3 and the answers listed for it the problem has been occuring on my 3 Macs, all running OS 10.4.7 and firmware on the new 20D at 2.0.3. The camera would not connect to the Mac with any software.
Canon told me to make sure that the connection mode is set to normal (which didn't work) but today they tell me to change it to P2P and iPhoto recognised the camera and downloaded. Still can't use the canon software (camera not connected / recognised) but they have said that a senior technition will be contacting me so i will keep you up to date.

Although I'm connected to my Wi-Fi network my computer keeps "looking for new networks." How can I stop it from doing so when I'm working at home and don't want another network?
You might want to update Safari to 3.12. I would empty the safari cache. (Safari>Empty Cache). Then quit Safari. System Preferences>Network>Show:Airport>TCP/IP. Insert the following into the DNS Servers box;

then hit apply. Now launch Safari. You should also try powering down modem, router and Mac and power up in 2 minute sequence; modem, router, Mac.
