Connecting CCTV/security cameras to imac(leopard)

Can anyone tell me please, how can I view the CCTV (total of 8 cameras) in my office, through the iMac at home?
Is there any softwares I should use?
Advice is very much appreciated!

Export the Emails to PST, use Little Machines' O2M converter (well worth the $10 price tag), then copy the converted files to your portable media of choice, then import them into Mail...

  • Monitoring a security camera

Have you had experience connecting a security camera at home and monitoring it through Safari? My home configuration is a Mac Pro hard-wired to a router, though the router is also wireless. Ideally the camera would establish a wireless link to the router. While away from home, I'd like to be able to open a browser window into the camera, using my Macbook Pro. I have no iSight camera on the Mac Pro at home. Though less convenient, I could attach a camera to the Mac Pro through some port. Thanks!

    (1) If you want to shop for one of the widely available dedicated internet security cameras, be sure that both the hardware and the software that is bundled with it are compatible with your internet service, router, Mac, and Mac OS version. If you ask, the seller should be able to guarantee compatibility or explain exchange privileges before you buy.
    (2) If you want to use a webcam operated by your Mac Pro, see this link for camera possibiities:

EvoCam is one of the more popular apps that let you monitor security via an internet browser like Safari. Security Spy is another, but it currently has a know issue with the Safari browser when running Snow Leopard. Security Spy's download page lists certain other browsers are compatible now. Regardless of which app offers the features you want, carefully review System Requirements and compatibility info in their web pages for current status.

  • Graphite ibook and D-Link Security Camera

    Hi
I'd like to connect a security camera to my graphite ibook G3, 366 MHz.
I've networked the camera to the computer.
I cannot get a video image when I access the camera's ip address, whether with JAVA or Active-X.  I tried Safari and Firefox.
Is there a setting or add on I need?  Is it a browser issue?
I'd rather use an older ibook that will be my stand-alone unit for the camera.  I need to keep this camera separate from my network.
    Below are the camera specs.
    Thanks

What is the model number on the camera?
I was attempting to find it on Google, but there are many models.
The system requirements you've posted say "Windows," with no indication that Macs are supported.

(I can connect directly to my Airport Extreme by ethernet and download the update that way).  Is a later version of A E software available for download anywhere?   Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Download and install AirPort Utility 5.4.2 for Mac OS X 10.4.11 "Tiger" here:

Once installed, launch AirPort Utility. It will tell you if a firmware upgrade is available for your Express.

Do you want to watch the live feed of your secutiry cameras or recorded footage?
In either case, I don't think iCloud is your solution.
For the first one, check with your security camera software, they usually have this option of broadcasting, so you'll know how to access it.
For the later, you should use something like Dropbox (www.dropbox.com), since iCloud file sharing is, up to this date, app restricted.
    Hope it helps.

  • Connect camera to IMac by WiFi

I want to connect my Sony camera (DSC HX50V) to my IMac (Intel, 10.6.8) through WiFi.  The camera instructions say to press the WPS button on my router to set this up.  Unfortunately, my Airport Express router (802.11n) does not have a WPS button.  I read a post saying I should select "add wireless clients" in the Airport Utility, however, that option is dimmed.  What do I do?

    What do I do?
    Open AirPort Utility
    Click on the AirPort router
    Click Manual Setup
Click on the Base Station menu at the top of the screen
Now click on Add Wireless Clients

You control the camera for Skype from within Skype, so  Skype must be running to running to make video work.

  • I cannot see my DV camera connected to firewire on my iMac.

I use parallell desktop and Win. XP with Movie Edit Pro. No DV camera is seen in iMovie either when I do not use parallell desktop. The only camera that is shown is the built in webcamera. I use a standard Mac firewire cable, Camera is an older Sony DV camera, DV cassette based. The only reason why I chose a mac is to connect a DV camera and edit video. FCP from Apple is too expensive, and I know Movie Edit Pro from Magix inside out, a superb video editing program. Can anyone help asap, pls.?

I may add this: Brand new iMac, 8Gb RAM, 2,5 Ghz i5 processor with Lion updated OS as of 31st Oct. 2011, using Parallel Desktop bought 16th Oct. 2011, running Windows XP with service pack 2. No camera except built-in webcam shows up in any software, neither using Mac OS or Win. XP.

Oh my! Obviously, I don't know what I'm doing. But I do know that my goal was to do both---backup AND free some space. My iMAc is old (2006) and I upgraded it a year or so ago to Snow Leopard. I didn't think I had the capability of backing up without an external drive, but  maybe I do since I upgraded. Do I?
But I bought this My Book mostly for freeing space because I like to make cards in Photoshop and I'm forever running out of space when I get too many layers (don't really know what I'm doing there, either).
Is there some way that I can rectify my mistakes and start all over?
Thank you so much for  beng so prompt with your reply and patient with mine. I tried for so long to see the dialog box with the library listings. When I launched iPhoto, even with holding down the Option key, it kept immediately launching into the full screen. Finally, after an hour of doing it over and over again, it worked when I held the key down for 5 minutes. Then when I was typing my reply, I kept getting a message to "Request Time Out." Didn't know how to do that, so kept hitting the OK button and kept typing for another half minute. Finally, when ready to send, Safari couldn't do it. "Try again" exasperated me until I realized I would have to begin again and use Firefox. When I got there and ready to type, I got the message  that my message had been retrienved and did I want to use it?!!
So your kindness is very much appreciated.

    Welcome to the Communities.
We want to help you but unfortunately you have given us insufficient information.
Please find a moment to tell us more about your machine, the model identifier, the OS version, and the total amount of RAM you have.   It also helps to know where you are, nothing specific, just the country.   Macs do not run on iOS 6.1.6 as your profile says.
Then fill those same details in your profile for future use

  • I use an iMac 10.6.8 with iPhoto '09 to download digital images from Canon DSLRs. Until the last two weeks there has been no trouble whatever importing images by  a USB connection from either camera to the Mac. Now the process will not kick in. Any ideas?

I use an Mac OSX 10.6.8 with iPhoto 09 to download digital images from two Canon DSLRs. Until the last week, there has been no problem whatever in launching the import procedure once the USB connection has been connected and the camera switched on. Now the process will not kick in at all for either camera.  I can't find a solution through iPhoto help or from other sources.
Any ideas to fix?  (I admit I have not tested the USB cable at this time).

    What does "kick in" mean?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.
