Connecting Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers to DVD player

Hi,
I have a LG DVD Player (DSI 8352) which gives 5.1 home theatre (dolby decoder) output.
If I buy Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers (5200 or 5700), how do I connect them ? Through RCA Stereo cables ? Would there be any compatibility issues ?
Please suggest the 5.1 speakers that would suit my requirement (no decoder / only amplifier) ..
Plz reply back to [email protected]
Thanks,Sambath

Creative offers many speaker systems that will fit your needs, without decoder.
You mentioned the Inspire 5700 system; this system comes with a decoder/amplifier, and wouldnt actually be what you'r looking for.
If your looking for awesome sound-quality, and good power, I can recommend the 5.1 Megaworks system, though this system can get quite expensive, you'll get what you pay for.
The megaworks (like "all" other creative speaker systems, got a built in amplifier in the subwoofer, where you connect all the speakers.)
To connect the speakers to the DVD-player, you connect the multichannel output on the DVD-player, to the multichannel input on the back of the subwoofer. (three stereo minijack inputs.)
You may need some RCA-to-minijack adapters, so that the multichannel audio cable that comes with the megaworks, will fit on your DVD-players output.

  • Connecting speakers to dvd player

I'm planning to buy a Creative Inspire 5200, and im wondering if I can connect it in my dvd player?

    Hi Jason,
In such a case, can i assume that the speakers alone are sufficient to amplify the sound of the DVD player with the builtin decoder? Will the volume control of the speakers be sufficient to provide audible sound from the DVD's audio signal?
    Thanks.

  • How to connect the I-Trigue 5600 to a DVD player???

I got a set of I-Trigue 5600 and thinking of connecting all 5 speakers and woofer to the back of DVD player to get the surround effect when watching DVD. The problem is I can just plug all 5 speakers to the back of the DVD player but how can I connect the sub-woofer to the DVD player as there is no cable to connect them together? Is there some sort of cable or adapter I can buy to connect them together? Thx in advance for any help!!!

have you tried that setup already?
my guess is that the subfrequencies are still combined with the front channels, and if I correct, your speakersystem will redirect them to the sub. just give it a try.

  • How do i connect my ipad to my blu ray dvd player using a usb cord

How do i connect my ipad mini to my LG blu ray dvd player using a usb cord?

You don't. THere's no support for that. Sorry.

  • Can you connect 5th generation i-pod to portable dvd player

I have recently purchased an Amstrad portable dvd player and was wondering if it is possible to view my saved movies from my i-pod video onto my portable dvd player. Was told by local shop it wasn't as you only had option of audio and not video. The portable dvd player came supplied with cables to watch movies through the portable player and onto a tv

A portable DVD player normally only has OUTPUT jacks and would not have a reason to support input jacks. So there would be no place to INPUT your iPod signals.
So the first question is, does the portable DVD player have actual INPUT ports?

  • Connecting creative inspire 6600 to the ddts-100 decoder

ok so i was sedused by the idea of getting a ddts-100 to my inspire 6600 speakers, but the fact is i need to know some information:
the first thing is:will i be able to connect my speakers to the decoder and then to the soundcard?
my speakers have only RCA jacks for the satellites to connect them to the amp,and the amp have 3 assebled wires,3.5mm ones...my soundcard have also 3 connectors for the speakers,no digital output or optical,..only 3 connectors for the 3.5mm...so will i be able to connect it and then will it be able to reproduce sound like it was doing before?
2-the decoder says it can decode dolby digital ex,dts es,i don't know if i am saying this right but, sometimes we say decoding in 24bits/96khz .....its the dvd quality right? then will the decoder DECODE the dvd source in 24bits/96khz or is it the job of the soundcard?
3-will the decoder improve the listening experience in quality or surround?in case of dvd playing i know it would, but in case of listening to music?

    shin8,
Are you getting proper output if you use the "TEST" button on the remote control?

  • Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers and notebook problems

    Hi,
I have my digital 5500 speakers connected to my old desktop computer which has the Audigy soundblaster card and the whole system works fine - mostly. I would like to connect the speakers to my notebook as that system is much more efficient and I feel wouldn't freeze during playback of music like the desktop. However I have a Realtek AC(7 soundcard in the notebook and when I plug the Creative speakers in I get no sound at all. If I use my cheap 2 speakers it works fine. I guess maybe I need to reconfigure the notebook but have no idea if this is possible and if it is how to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions please? I am using XP on both systems. I have been to the Realtek site but there seems to be no support there.

    Gilli
What is the connection type you used for the notebook to the speaker? Coaxial/Optical/Line IN?
Try using a Stereo minijack to Stereo minijack cable to connect from your sound card front audio jack to the Analog Line In on the decoder. Ensure that you have selected the Input source to 'LINE IN' from the decoder box.
Your best bet would be to check with your notebook vendor for additional assistance as you may need to enable certain setting from your notebook.

  • My Creative Inspire 6.1 speakers aren't producing any sound!

I have an Audigy2 Platinum Ex with Inspire 6.1 surround speakers.A few weeks ago, I stopped getting sounds from the speakers. The green light was on, and when I plugged in some headphones I could hear sound. Also, I have my system connected via a S/PDIF to a 5.1 receiver. This only allows me stereo sound (unless I play something pre encoded with Dolby 5.1/6.1 or DTS). I'd like to know WHAT IS THE MATTER!?!
    Thank you for your time.

Okay... I plugged the head phones into the VOLUME CONTROL/CONTROL POD of the speakers. All the cables are attached. I just ripped, er I should say unplugged everything and and retried from scratch. Same problem.
I think the Sub/LFE hub died. That could be the only possible explanation. HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING A REPLACEMENT?!? Do they even sell these anymore? I understand that they have been discontinued. What do I do? Can I send it in to you as an RMA?
    Give me alternatives... PLEASE!

    Dustin,
On the first point, when you say you plugged in headphones and they worked, do you mean you plugged them into the soundcard directly, or in the volume control/control pod of the speakers? Try them with another source if you can, and make sure all the cables are attached properly.
On the second point, this is normal. The connection you're using (coaxial or optical SPDIF) can only pass over a stereo PCM signal, or an encoded stream. You can read up more on this topic here.

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 Speakers Green Light on remote is dead

the green light on the wired remote is dead
When I do turn the sound on, the green light is still dead. But I do hear a very loud static hissing noise.
Its impossible to play anything through these speakers. I'm guessing that this may be an ac adapter
problem? Could it be fixed by just replacing my current adapter?
    Thanks for your time folks.

    Hi Jason,
Thanks for the reply. In answer to your question, yes, the adapter does feel warm. You are probably right that the problem lies within the subwoofer or wired remote. However, I noticed I got the same harsh, static sound when i disconnected the creative speaker systems and connected the computer with my own stereo system. Could this mean that my soundcard (an SB Audigy) is also faulty?

  • Creative Inspire 5200 - Rear speakers echoing effect

The front 3 speakers are fine - sound is normal, crisp and clear. But the 2 rear speakers have sorta fuzzy echoing thing going on... it's kinda hard to describe. And I just want to know is this normal... Maybe creating a surroudn sound illusion thing... ?

Hey budd would you try a bios update and see if that don't help all you need to do is visit the computer companys website if it's a brand computer and look for there support page then downloads and bios updates but if you built the computer or some one else did then get the motherboard model from them or google search for software that can find the model and junk like that and see if you can get that bios upfated and after you update it preset the bios to defaults then try the sound again and see if that don't make a diffrence?
You just may have to get a new soundcard as well for the sytem to work with the card. I hear a lot about them 5.1 cards having problems with some of these new suround systems and it seems to be a incompatibility isue but thats up to you I mean if you wanted to try you could hook the speakers to another computer and see if you get better luck and if so you know it's the card
Good Luck and sorry if this is not what kind of news you were looking for but this is all that I can come up with

  • Which speakers will work on my DVD player?

    Hello
Recently I bought DVD Player Philips DVP 500 and now I want also to buy 5.1 speakers.
DVD player has 1x Digital Audio Coaxial output,so Im thinking of buying
    Inspire GD580.
    Is my choice correct one?
Since I have nevered bought hardware online,I have another question about Warranty.
If the product needs repair, can I bring the product to my local Repair Service?
    Greetings from Slovenia
    Daniel

    Daniel,
Those speakers should be matched with that DVD player, you can connect it directly to the RCA (coaxial SPDIF) output.
With regards to warranty, it would be best to speak to Customer Support to see if they can advise you, normally repairs in warranty go through Customer Support and our RMA (returns) center.

  • M4500 anable to connect with DVD player

    Hi,
Kindly help me I am not able to connect my Creative M4500 speakers with DVD player.
    Regards

Not sure what your asking as it should be very simple, you are talking about the X-fi front bay unit right? You have a DVD player with R&w outs, you simply connect to those and then the same R&W connectors on the bay unit. I believe its treated as Linein2 in the mixer. Should be very simple to figure out

  • Creative Inspire T900 problem, just 2 front speakers work when connect to a laptop

    Hi everybody,
I have just bought a Creative Inspire T7900 system, it's in good quality I think.
But I just got a laptop without 5.1/6.1 or 7/ sound card ( one output only ), therefore i cannot use the 7.1 Audio Cable.
I tried to use a stereo-to-stereo cable to connect my laptop to the input in the wired remote but only the front satellite speakers work. Is that a problem with the Wired Remote ? Or the problem with the system ?
Can I laptop use all the speakers ?
Please help me, thank you very much.

    thanhvtd86,
There isn't any problem with the speaker system nor your laptop and it's normal. Stereo consists of only 2 channel and that's why you are experiencing output from only the two front speaker. You won't be able to utilize the full capability of the speaker if you don't have a 7.1 capable soundcard.
