Connecting Digital Night Vision to Mac

Hello
I wasted money on an RCA to USB converter to connect my Yukon Ranger Digital Night Vision Monocular to my Mac to record video of what it captures.
Is there any WORKING way I can do this?
The Night Vision has an RCA female output ( works on my LCD TV ) so I need a converter that can allow me to input this in my new Quad Core iMac, any way possible.
anything available??
thanks
Anthony

I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • How do i get video from my sony hx100 digital camera to my mac? after connecting the camera via the supplied usb cable, iMovie shows icons for 5 videos, but none will load.

i've connected the camera to the mac using the supplied usb cable. imovie shows 5 icons for videos but all of them have the red circle with slash through them and the box to import them is grayed out.

Get a nice Sony miniDV camcorder. It is not too expensive; it is small and easy to carry around to shoot your video. Most importantly, it will be instantly compatible with iMovie. You don't have to install any software, just connect it via FireWire (Sony calls this iLink) and you are good to go!
I have had several Sonys and love them. You don't need one with fancy editing capabilities because you will edit your movies in iMovie. Just be sure that it has AV In and Out so you can import and export back to the camcorder.
My current version is the small DCR HC-26. There are newer versions of that HC-30something and 40something. Look at the specs on Sony's website
Some of them require the use of a dock to import and export. I am not really fond of that feature. I like just connecting directly to the camera.

  • Using an external hard drive to connect the camera to the Mac Book Pro

I am about three weeks away from a 9 to 4 pin firewire cable. In the meantime, I am logging and capturing from my Canon AX HI through my external hard drive. I am not super amazed at the quality of the image, it's noisy.
I am using HDV tapes, and I don't beleive the lighting should be causing the issue.
Does anyone know if using the external hard drive to connect the camera to my Mac Book Pro is compromising the quality of the image? Can I expect a beautiful strong image on a lap top?
    Thanks for any help.

There is ZERO quality loss when you capture via firewire. It is a digital transfer of files...that's it. The issue you have is that you are trying to judge the quality of your image based on what you see with your computer monitors, and that is simply the LAST thing you should be doing.
And since this is HDV, the only way to monitor that is with an HD card or I/O device, and an HD monitor or TV. Like the Matrox MXO2 mini or AJA I/O Express mini and HDTV.

  • My cat sat on my keyboard and now my desktop display looks like it is in night vision with color. How do I get it back to it's original display?

My cat sat on my keyboard and changed the display. Now the coloration and brightness looks like it is in night vision with a bit of color. It is similar to one of the photo booth effect options. How do I get it back to normal?

    Hi JoeBeth,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your colors have become inverted on your display. This is a feature of Universal Access. Please refer to the attached article for information on this feature with instructions to toggle it on and off.
Mac OS X displays inverted image colors (white on black, reverse type)
    Have a great day,

  • My Macbook Pro 13" lost Internet connection last night. Why?

My Macbook Pro 13" lost Internet connection last night. It's still out today, but my mother's Windows machine still gets it just fine. What happened to my Mac? The folks at Comcast told me it's a problem for Apple to fix. I'm hoping someone here can give me some insight.

see if there is anything for you.

  • Night vision

how to view a pdf file in night vision on a mac desktop similar to android on a mobile ?

    Hello kmccmk9
iGlasses 2 offers manual control of some camera settings. One of these is low-light capability that they call "Night Vision." You can take advantage of their free trial to see if it works better than what you already have before you buy.
Contrary to what the iGlasses ad claims, nothing but some kind of lighting device can give you vision in "total darkness", but iGlasses can let you see in light at the lowest levels that your iSight can use.
If you decide not to buy iGlasses, be sure to uninstall it by following the instructions from ecamm. Do not just ignore or throw it away or you may find the the expired trial version causes some strange behavior. You shouldn't be concerned about this cautionary comment. iGlasses is good, reasonably priced, reliable software if you want the features it offers. I include this caution only because some users who ignored the demo expiration or failed to uninstall completely have reported strange problems after the trial expired.
If you need lower light capability than iGlasses gives or plan to use your iSight in a cave or some other real "total darkness" situation, use SteveyJ's suggestions and look for a special-purpose IR camera.

  • Can i do this? digital camcorder to my mac?

hi, hoping someone can help me like before.
I just got a JVC 270 digital camcorder, it was such a good price i didnt want to pass it up, so i didnt get a chance to see if it would work on my computer.
my question is, if my camcorder is not on the list, is there a way that i can save, and watch my movie on my computer?
    thank you.

You'll need a 4-pin-to-6-pin FireWire cable to connect the camcorder to your Mac.
These cables are also called a 'DV' or 'i.Link' cable, but make sure that it has a teeny 4-pin connector on one end - to plug into the JVC - and a larger 6-pin connector on the other end - to plug into your Mac.
This is NOT the same as a USB cable ..that's just for sending stills to your Mac, or for using a camcorder as a 'webcam'.
So once you get a '4-pin-to-6-pin' DV/FireWire/i.Link cable, you'll be able to connect it to your Mac - with the camera set to 'VCR' mode, not 'Camera' mode - and you can then import your movies into iMovie.

  • AES Digital Audio into a Mac

I need to input SDI digital video and AES digital audio into a Dual G5 Mac. I see that BlackMagic will do the digital video part for in and out but it seems to only output digital audio. How can I get AES digital audio into the Mac. Any suggestions would be great.
    Thanks

Thanks this is what I was looking for. It looks like I can bring in SDI digital video through the BlackMagic card and AES/EBU digital audio with the Hosa box connected to the digital audio input on the back of the G5.
    Thanks

No, it does not.  It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer.  The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Are they selected to sync?  Is Manually Manage content on the device selected?

What does that have to do with syncing content to the device?  FYI, nothing.

  • My ipad 3 is frozen on the plug into itunes page. I have tried to follow advice I have found on these pages but I don't know how to connect the ipad to my mac (there is no usb port on an ipad). If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

My ipad 3 is frozen on the plug into itunes page - it won't turn off or on - just stuck. I have tried to follow advice I have found on these pages but I don't know how to connect the ipad to my mac (the advice is to connect ipad to mac and there is no usb port on an ipad). If anyone could help it would be appreciated. Going nuts.

I think you should probably also read the iPad User Guide. You didn't say what version of iOS your iPad is running, so here's the links to both the iOS 6 and iOS 7 (PDF) versions:
