Connecting digital projector to Satellite 1000 laptop

I would like help please in connecting my Satellite 1000 to
a digital projector to make a Power Point presentation.
I use other laptops at work and am reasonably familar with the process. However I could not get the 1000 to work.
I connected using the blue monitor port and tried to select RGB using Fn+F5 but at first nothing appears on the projection screen - no toggle. Eventually my laptop screen appears on the projection screen but not on the laptop, which freezes completely.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Hi
You should uninstall your display driver and download/install a new driver from
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
At Driver Downloads you will find all drivers for your notebook

  • Connecting Digital Projector To An Emac - Help!

    Hi,
I just bought an older emac from a university. G4, 700 mhz, 128 mg, combo drive. Works fine except; I'm trying to hook it up to a Toshiba digital projector. Using apple video adapter through video port and svga cable. Nothing!
When I plug it into my ibook G4, same way, works fine. Is it a matter of not enough memory (only has 128 mg), faulty video card? Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks, Lou

    Hello again,
I would connect everything and then restart both the eMac G4 and the projector. Maybe in order to work, they both need to be restarted (after they are connected). I hope that works, but if not, I would check your display settings. It is possible that some resolutions will not display on the projector. Also, you could even try changing the colors (256, Thousands, Millions).

  • Digital Projector Connection

My digital projector will not connect with my Satellite A135 laptop. I tried the Fn F5 setting as described in the manual but it won't recognize any signal.

Most projectors have an input selection setting.  Make sure that setting corresponds to the input that you're trying to use.  The projector I juse most often has a Computer 1 and Computer 2 setting as well as S-Video and composite video.  The input selection has to be done from the projector menu.

  • Can I show a higher resolution on my laptop screen than on a connected (VGA) projector?

Can I show a higher resolution on my laptop screen than on a connected (VGA) projector?
The projector is only 800 by 600 which screws up my desktop each time I project.
Additionally - if I use a remote desktop client for windows, the change in resolution makes the projection in windows unreadble.
    Anything I can do?
    Many thanks - Mike

Will not  work, most likely for BootCamp.  Windows drivers for hunderbolt will only create digital (DVI), not analog (VGA).
Run Windows in Parallels/other-VM-software where OSX runs the Thunderbolt port, or by a USB-VGA adapter.

Are you using the Toshiba preconfigured system?
Is the screen resolution for both devices (internal display and external monitor) set properly?
The laptop is a new Satellite Pro C70 64 bit with 6GB RAM, preconfigured with Windows 8.1
Resolution for laptop screen is 1600 x 900, but goes to 1289 x 768 when a normal monitor is connected.
I don't know what it is when the projector is connected because both screens are blank.

    Hi
Please check in your graphic card settings if the option: Full Screen (no border) has been chosen.
This can be found in Aspect Ration Options.
Ive got a U400 with Intel graphic chip and this option is available there.
Furthermore some notebooks support an additional BIOS option where the screen could be set to full screen (no borders)

    Hi qwerty,
Dun tink that creative customer support sucks cos I had been dealing with them in the past and I can say that their service are quite gd and fast. If you wanted a refund, I tink you need to contact the store that sells you the product. Dun tink creative will refund you though.

  • Will an iPad mini with retina display connect to a digital projector?

Will an IPad mini with retina display connect to a digital projector for presentations?

Yes, certainly. Depending on the projector's inputs, you'll need one of these adapters:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD825ZM/A/lightning-to-vga-adapter
    or a third-party equivalent.

  • How can I connect Apple tv to a digital projector that does not have an HDMI connection?

I work in an elementary school library where we have 6 macs and 11 iPads.  I want to be able to share the output of each of these machines with Apple TV on a digital projector which does not have HDMI capability.  How can I do this?  I had been using an app called Refector with limited success.

Open a program and drag the window over to the tv. You are using extended display mode.

  • Connecting iPad 2 to Digital Projector

My son will be giving a presentation in his third grade class showing how to use ToonTastic. I need to know what cable I need to hook up our iPad 2 to the classroom ELMO digital projector. Any advice would be appreciated!

Without knowing what input the Elmo has, I can't be definite, but it would probably be one of these two:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC953
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC552
If the Elmo has only DVI input, you'd need an HDMI to DVI adapter to go with that first item (MC953).
    Regards.

  • G4 titania PB hooking up to a digital projector

    FIrst time to post,,,
I am supposed to give a slide show, so i thought Iphoto would be good as it is fairly simple,,, i took my PB to the bank that is allowing me use of there project,, i thnk a in focus l3 540? anyway, just testing it to see how the photos would look before hand,.
I connected the cord to the little monitor adapter that comes with the computer,(,the one that plugs into the right side with the fairly long rectangle interface with the 25 little pin holes in the nice array with 4 in a square array next to it) i am sure yall know which one, i just dont know the name.,
anyway, we plugged it in and the projector screen kept running through a dialog, searching for device, ( similar language) but in any case, it was looking for a signal, presumably my computer,,
Could someone please give me the proper procedure for using this projector and hookup with this laptop, do i need to turn off the computer first before hooking up or i have seen closing the lid, ,, anyway,, what is the proper procedure for hooking up to a digital projector,,,,
oh, and one more question,, if the projector is a 1024x768, would my jpeg setting of 1000 on the horiz and 750 on the vert with a 96 dpi be a good setting to get good projection detail as it shows on the laptop screen,,
its a basic wildlife slide show,, like the old days,
thankin all in advance for any thoughts,,,

    Hi Kim and welcome!
You have a G4 powerbook, but I'm not sure what model it is.
It sounds a bit newer than my G4 titanium 15"
Maybe it is more like the one at this link?
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/PowerBookG4_15inch1.67-1.5GHzUserGuide.pdf
Sounds like you are referring to the DVI port on the right side. You also plugged in the adapter that lets a regular monitor(in this case the projector) use that port.
    Sounds right so far.
I have Tiger on my computer so my info could be off a bit--take it as it's given: with reservation.
I use the s-video port( the little camera with the "out" written on it) next to that DVI port on your laptop . I bought a long S-viedo cable at radio shack so I could be a bit further from the projector.
When the cables are all hooked up and after I start up the projector, I start up the laptop, open the "system preferences" in the apple menu and open up "monitors". It has a "detect displays" button and I press it.
There is also a little button (maybe only in tiger) that says "show displays in menu bar" I check this button too because it puts a menu at the top of the screen that lets me control the monitors.
If the display shows up on your computer, you also need to turn video mirroring on.This makes whatever you see on your laptop is showing on your TV. There is a check-bow for this OR it is in your menubar now.
The only goofiness that I ran into was that sometimes you have to select the source that the projector is accessing. This is done at the projector end and often with the input button on the remote. If you are using the DVI port with the adapter, then the VGA input needs to be selected on the projector. If you are using the S-video cable(like I do) then you need to select S-video on the projector.
I hope this helps a little bit until somebody else comes along.

  • ThinkPad W530 with Windows 7 x64 Pro BSOD when connecting to projector

    Hi,
    I have 2 identical ThinkPad W530 laptops model 244723G
Both are set to discrete graphics from BIOS because with optimus driver my projector will not work at all.
But how i have other issue that causes BlueScreen when connection laptop to projector.
I have installed latest driver from Lenovo download site -> still BSOB when connecting to projector.
When i install driver from Nvidia site it fixes BSOD issue with discrete graphics and external projector.
Can same one else confirm that there is a error on Lenovo optiomus driver when using discrete graphics?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Would you mind posting the links to those drivers, or copying their exact name for us to search on the appropriate site(s)?
I use a w520 (quad core/nVidia 1000 discrete graphics board) with a projector and anything that makes that smoother I have to consider. There have been posts about how to re-create the usual ThinkPad use of the F7 key for choosing projector view mode but I admit I have never been able to take the time (and risk of failure) to try the swap of internal files to make it happen. (Starting a project like that always makes me feel I have to have time to do the project and if it goes wrong re-install the OS and all updates -- all before the next time the laptop is needed for anything important. That condition is almost never possible.)
    Yeah, I know, I'm chicken! <grin>

4276-37U -- W520. Still have an X61t. First laptop in my house was an Osborne! Now that was a cool computer. (...for its time!)

  • Does LR 5 support working with a digital projector

Hi all, what I mean is if using a digital projector, connected to a laptop, does the projection show only the main image while the whole LR window/ catalog is seen on the laptop screen. Thank you for any help,
    Jim

Can you uninstall the codec from Control Panel / Programs and Features and then see what happens in LR?

  • HT201667 I rented a movie through itunes on my ipad and wanted to watch it with friends on a digital projector, but it wouldn't allow me to do it.  Is there any way around this?

I  rented a movie through itunes on my ipad and wanted to watch it with friends on a digital projector, but it wouldn't allow me to do it.  Is there any way around this?

The issue was that a dialogue box came up which said that I couldn't play this movie on another device.  I tried playing the same movie on an Tv with an HDMI connection attached to an adapter to the IPad and that worked.  I wonder if the problem is that the digital projector has a VGA connection.
