Connecting DTT 3500 to Audigy 2

HI there,
Hope someone can help cos I'm going mad! I am trying to connect my Audigy 2 to my DTT3500 speakers. For a long time I have had them conected to my DVD player and as a result have lost the pc adaptor cable that came with the speakers. So, I ordered a 4-pole minijack to mini Din/RCA cable from Creative, as this was the solution suggested by every site I looked at.
However, having just received the cable I have found that the cable has a female RCA connector and a female mini din connector - the same as the DTT 3500
Does anyone know where i can get hold of a converter so that I can finally play my games in surround!!?
Thanx
F

flangie,
From what you wrote, I think you might have purchase the wrong cable. Did you purchase this cable or this cable 2. Cable 2 should be what you need for the DTT3500. Cable are meant for the DTT2500 speaker and FPS2000 speaker.

  • Dtt 3500 - Can't choose Dolby Digital DIN / PCM Audio

    Hey all,
I've had a DTT 3500 for quite some time now and I was always very satisfied with this surround system.
I recently bought a new 7.1 System for my computer and now use the DTT 3500 along with my videobeamer to play Playstation 2 and XBox games... the soundoutput from these devices works perfect.
    My problem is as follows:
I would like to use my DTT 3500 from my computer too, I hooked the DTT 3500 up to my Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS soundcard with the "digital cable" that came with the DTT 3500. I then choose 5.1 speakers and "Digital Output Only"... but I don't hear any sound coming from the DTT 3500.
According to the manual I have to choose "Dolby Digital DIN / PCM Audio". When I try button with which one would accomplish that, I fail as I can only select Optical and Coaxial... I never get a "green light" next to "Dolby Digital DIN / PCM Audio".
Does anybody have the same problem?
The Audigy 2 ZS works wonderful with my 7.1 system and if I uncheck "Digital Output Only" I hear sound, all no problem... also, if I use an AC3 source (eg. XBox 360) I hear sound from the DTT 3500... I just have a problem hooking it up via digital output from my PC with Audigy 2 ZS...
Please help, this is driving me nuts! (And I tried to get it to work all sunday long... )
    Cheers
    Onkl

    onkl0r,
Try disconnecting and then reconnect the DIN cable again. The speaker will need to detect a DIN connection first before the DIN option is selectable on the speaker end.

  • Finally got my Cambridge DTT3500 DTT 3500 working in 5.1 surround on my iMac!

fyi, just got an iMac and was struggling to get 5.1 surround sound using my Mac with my old faithful DTT3500
So I'm posting this just in case anyone needs to know how to get the DTT3500 to work with an iMac:
    - Cable: Belkin Pure A/V Digital Optical cable with Mini-Toslink adapter (available from Apple) but there are other similar cables available on the market.
    - Connections: iMac audio out (Mini-plug) to optical in (Toslink) on the DTT3500 (using the supplied mini-toslink adapter with the Belkin cable)
    - DTT 3500 Settings:
*Set/toggle the "Creative Multi Speaker Surround" button to "Fourpoint/5.1"
*Set/toggle the "Dolby Digital/PCM Audio" button to "Optical"
*Set/toggle the "Multi Channel" to OFF i.e. both "Line In" and "Digital DIN" are off(dark)
*Set/toggle the "Dolby Pro logic" button to "Digital In"
NOTE: you can change the "Creative Multi Speaker Surround" option to your desired audio purpose if you don't want surround e.g. Music, Stereo, etc. but when you want surround sound again just remember to reset the "Dolby Pro Logic" button back to "Digital In" since it gets toggled OFF when you select anything other than "Fourpoint/5.1 DIN" (using the "Creative Multi Speaker Surround" button) and it DOESN'T TOGGLE BACK ON again when you re-select "Fourpoint/5.1 DIN".
    That's it!
At least I can hold off buying some new speakers/surround processor for a while, since I'm now broke after buying the iMac

Well I'm not using Vista I'm using XP SP2 and I have the same problem.
On the windows sound control panel there is a button called speaker volume. when you click on it you get a bunch of sliders with channels -8. Ive discovered that if I move the master sound control in any of the Creative Sound modes software Entertainment/Audio Creation or Gaming the channel sliders in the windows control panel numbered 3-7 all go to zero which stops the surround sound working. It leaves channels and 2 and 8 alone which can be changed with the sound control in the creative software.
Even checking move all the slides together option on the windows control panel is cancelled as soon as I twitch the main sound control. It's driving me nuts. I keep thinking I must be missing something really obvious here but alas I can't think what.
Ive tried lots of different solutions to no avail. Interestingly when I tried to use the autodriver update thing on the creative web site it said that i am using Vista and you'll have to download manually. Which I did and still didnt resolve my problem.
Sorry no solutions just more problems lets hope someone can help!
Edit - Just discovered - I have XFi Pro if I use the I/O Console volume dial it works fine, but if I use the software volume control it all goes wrong. Think I posted in the wrong thread as well as this is vista but it just seemed so relevant.

  • Lost the cables to my DTT 3500

I am currently the lucky owner of a DTT 3500 sound system and a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS soundcard, my problem is that I seem to have lost the cables I need to produce digital sound.
From searching the internet I've discovered that I need to use the Digital Out port of my soundcard and the Digital Din input port in the DTT 3500, which also seems to require a bit of converting.
Thus my question is: Which cables/converters do I need to buy to preserve the digital quality and achieve 5.1 surround sound?
    Thanks in advance

I have a DDT 3500. While I really love that setup and sound from it, I developed some issues with my optical input stopped working in the decoder. So the speakers and everything are all sitting in my garage and I replaced it with a DTT-100 Decoder.
    To answer your question:
You have to have a Digital Din cable. I will have to look at the documentation because I cannot remember if the digital din plugs into the sound card or the sub woofer. I thinkthe Digital Din Cable goes from the sound card to the DDT3500. Maybe someone can chime in here and help confirm what I am posting.

  • DTT 3500 Help Me Please!

Can anyone please help me how to connect my DTT 3500 speaker system to my p.c.,I'm a dummy when it comes to electronics,I recently bought these from an auction, with no instructions as I have a FPS 1000 with 2 speakers dead, however the DTT3500 are far more superior and I would dearly like to fit these instead. what I have is 4 sattelites with jacks, centre and woofer with clip ons and jacks, optic cable, I think is called a tandem cable with green(looks like p-c.plug) on one end and a red and white jack on other end,a transformer with plug to something and a remote control,I think I am missing something.
My FPS 1000 speakers plug into the back of the woofer which is so much simpler, can anyone out there help a music lover pensioner.

  • Dtt 3500 Digital OUT doesnt work

The first, sorry for my bad english, its a long time ago
I from Germany and i got the Playworks DTT 3500. But the digital OUT doesnt work. I put the capble in the decoder but doesnt happen. The green diode " DIGITAL DIN, MULTICHANNEL " doesnt glow.
My brother got the DTT 3500 too and his diode glows. He has a normal 5.1 System. I have only the stereo mode.
Can somebody tell me, what can i do?
    Thanking you in anticipation..
    Mfg Arthur

Well, it could be, it's really hard to say.
There is a problem with a center speaker when you use CMSS 2 (with Audigy 2 cards) and have an EAX Effect turned on. Center speaker is then silent and no sound comes out of it, except when you listen to a Dolby or DTS soundtrack.
I don't know if you have a Creative sound card at all neither I think that your options are set excatly as I mentioned, so yes, it could be the speaker. The best way to find out is to replace it with another speaker (for example front left or right) and plug it into Center jack on the back of the subwoofer (or decoder). Play some music and find out if the speaker is working. Also if you have a Creative sound card run a channel test (in Surround Mixer or Speaker Settings).
Let me know what you've find out. Good luck.

  • How to connect Gigaworks S750 with AUDIGY 2 ZS

    Hello,
I'm a french user so please apologize for my bad english ;-)
Well, let's talk about the problem.
I've bought a GIGAWORKS S750 (occasion) and AUDIGY 2ZS. I tried to connect them but i'm having problem. Let me explain :
The cable used to connect the GIGAWORKS to the Audigy 2zs have 4 plugs on each side. On the subwoofer i connect the pink/green/black/grey and then on my audigy 2 zs i have to connect 3 plugs (black, grey & pink). But there one more (the grey) which is "alone" and i'm not able to connect it on my audigy 2zs. Moreover, I don't have sound "side" when i used the THX Setup Console, and when i make a test the Rear speakers correspond to the Side speakers...
So my question is : is there something wrong with the cable i used to connect the gigaworks to my audigy 2zs ? (as i'm able to connect 3 plug on my audigy, why is there 4 plug ?!).
The guy who sold me gigaworks have maybe forget the good cable ?!
I can post a pict of this cable if needed !
    Any help would be great...;-)
    Thanks,
    Florian

well, if you buy a new set of gigaworks speakers, there is a special cable in the box to connect the audigy 2zs (3 to 4 pin connector), which I also use, because I have the same setup.
you should contact the person you bought the set from, and ask for that cable.
    regards
    K

  • Dtt 3500 + audigy 2 zs + windows 7

    Hi all,
I have an older speaker system, creative cambridge soundworks DTT3500 with windows 7 64 bit and audigy 2 zs - the system was deli'vered with onboard sound but can't use with dtt3500 so I installed zs 2 (audigy) but when going to sound the dtt3500 just flashes on all setting and I get no sound.
Seriously I was reluctant to move to W7 now this.. is there anything to do? I am using what I think is the din plugs.. din->digital.
    anyone able to help?

    any help?
i installed the drivers from windows update and volume bar works normal. but tis driver can't spread the 2.0 audio to 5 channels. only 2 front works and quality is very bad in my opinion.
in the xp i have no problem with creative but why they give us a good driver for win7. we give them money at all.
the sound quality of audigy drivers in win7 is very very bad for xp. guys can anyone found a driver for win7 like xp quality?

  • Connecting Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic with Creative Soundworks DTT 3500 Digi

The Creative Soundworks DTT3500 has optical and coaxial and digital DIN digital connections with an onboard Dolby Digital 5. decoder.
However only has front and rear analog connection, no centre or sub connection.
Without moding my DTT3500 can anyone tell how I can connect my Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard to get full surround.
    Anyone?

So I have a perfectly good set of surround speakers that also have a external dolby digital 5. decoder, which I sometime plug my Xbox into.
And not I have to downgrade my speakers to a set of analogues.....where is the sense in that.
It mentions in the manual about "Decoding with an external decoder or home theater receiver" and connecting a cable from the FlexiJack (Digital Out) on the X-Fi to the Coaxial SPDIF in jack in the decoder.
<FONT color=#330066 size=>If you have a Dolby Digital/DTS/DTS-ES/Dolby Digital EX external decoder (for example, Decoder DDTS-00), you can use it to decode Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-ES or Dolby Digital EX signals to 5., 6. and 7. speakers from your Sound Blaster X-Fi audio card, Digital I/O Module*, X-Fi I/O Dri've* or X-Fi I/O Console*. With a home theater receiver like Creative Inspire GD580 Speaker System, you can use it to decode Dolby Digital or DTS signals to 5. speakers.
    <A target=_blank>[/url]
<FONT color=#330066 size=>To enable this function, select the <SPAN>Dolby Digital/DTS Bitstream Out option in Audio Console, or the <SPAN>On (External Decoder) option in Entertainment Mode or Audio Creation Mode. For more information, refer to their online Help.

  • Connecting Inspire T7700 to Audigy 2 NX + Louder bass at a certain frequency

    Hello,
I wasn't sure if this should go to the soundcard forums instead.
In the Inspire T7700's box there was a cable that had 4 stereo connections on each side, and I used that to connect the card to the speakers. I have the upmix on the speakers set to none (7.1). Everything works fine except for one detail: I have no control over the subwoofer when playing stereo sources via CMSS. For instance, "subwoofer volume" in the advanced volume mixer has no effect, as well as Bass Redirection (although I admit I don't know what that is). The subwoofer simply seems to somehow combine whatever goes to other 7 speakers. Is this normal? Despite the upmixing, I can control every single sattelite independently, but not the sub?! In addition, turning off CMSS should normally cause only the front speakers to work (without the center); instead, I get the two front speakers AND the subwoofer. When using a true surround source however (e.g. the sample AudioDVD, which by the way has no side channels) the subwoofer volume setting has an effect (although very limited). Also, when trying the Channel and Noise buttons to test speaker settings, they all behave as expected; the sub is independent. So is the T7700's sub really getting an independent channel, and if yes, why is CMSS not taking advantage of it's
Also, is it normal for the subwoofer to sound much louder at a certain frequency? It really is annoying because it is painful to my years, and to avoid it I need to turn bass down by a lot, losing the nice bass on other frequencies...
Other than those two problems, I love both the card and the speakers! Now if only the former had Linux support too...
    Thanks!

I worked around these problems by getting a PCI Audigy 2 and using the kX drivers (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/). If going to PCI is an option for you, it's worth it. (The drivers do not support USB devices.) I'll never use creative software again. And if these kX drivers didn't exist, I would have no use for their hardware either.

  • Microphone connection problems with SB audigy 2 ZX platinum pro

I am using an old SB audigy 2 ZX platinum pro purchased back in 2004. It is installed on a PC that I stopped using it in 2005. The pc has no problems and I have started using it again. My problem is that I cannot connect the microphone. Everything was working fine at the time I was this pc including the microphone. At that time I had installed win xp pro( no service packs were available). But after I had to move physically in another location(connection and disconnections etc)and a pc format I cannot use the microphone again. I am trying to connect it to the front panel and to the appropriate places as indicated in the user manual but nothing is happening. I have connected properly the sound cart and all other components are working fine. I checked whether the microphone is checked to silent mode and all other software/di'vers nonetheless everything is working fine. I am now using Win xp pro sp3. I have contacted Creative and they told me to check the mic boost option. But there is no mic boost option now. I clearly recall that there was one when I was using this pc in 2004 under win xp pro(again no service packs were available at that time). One solution I could think is to format again and install some old version of win xp pro (say 2003 or so) and then update to current. But I do not want to format again since I do not have that version of windows available(copyright issues may also raise) plus for some other reasons I do not think I should mention them on an Internet forum. I also tried to download the latest drivers ans apps form creative ,clean installation from the orginal cd including Daniel_K pack and everything someone could think without solving the issue.Creative during our last communication in a very polite way told me to stop emailing them and try to solve the issue on my own as this product is no longer supported. One thing I neglected to mention above is that the mic boost option is available in the motherboard sound chipset. I checked it in one of my attempts to solve the problem. But it disappears when installing the SB driver. I know that if I manage to configure mic boost in the driver settings I will solve the problem. But once again there is no such option. Could you please provide with some suggestions and solutions on how to solve this?. Thank you very in advance for any suggestion and help

  • Connecting an XBox 360 & Audigy for 5.1 with HDA-

    Hi all,
I am attempting to hook up and Xbox 360 through my Audigy SB060 in order to obtain true 5. surround (running Windows Vista Ultimate).
I have obtained a Hitech HDA-X0 which gives me Optical inputs for the Audigy card and connects to the Audigy via a 20-pin extension header.
Basically I need the sound to go 360--->optical input of X0--->connected to Audigy by 20 pin header--->decoded by Audigy--->analogue outputs to my Logitech 5. speakers.
I have been assured by the people who sold me the X0 that this would work.
Unfortunately the manual is all in Korean!
As best I can make out it says that I ought to set the SPDIF settings in AudioHQ to AC-3 SPDIF-In.
    This presents two problems:
. The current drivers for Audigy cards in Vista use Creative Audio Console not AudioHQ and
    2. In Audio Console under SPDIF I/O, there are options only for Default and SPDIF Bypass.
When set to SPDIF Bypass there is no sound at all.
When set to default, I get sound from the 360 but only if the 360 is set to Digital Stereo output.
When I set the 360 to Digital 5., the sound sto
    ps.
I think my problem lies in the lack of an AC-3 SPDIF-In setting in Audio Console.

    Solved my own problem.
Took a look at the Audigy Vista driver release notes and saw that decoding has been disabled.
Once I dual booted into XP, the surround worked perfectly.
Guess I'll be trying out the nomoregoatsoup drivers so I can get it working in Vista too.
Come on Creative, get your act together.

The color on the Creative Card end are Center- Orange , rear - Black , Front - Green
There is color difference between these two ends . Is it advisable to connect these two jacks ?

    Hi
Colours may vary --> just connect by the instructions from both manuals.
    There are good explanations for
    - Stereo and 4-Pole Jack Diagrams
    - Connecting a multichannel home theater receiver
    - cabletypes needed on connections
    on User's Guide.
NOTE: This User's Guide can be found on your driver CD too.
Also, here is the Onkyo HT-S580 manual.

  • Connecting DDTS-100 and Audigy 2 ZS

    Hello!
I have some problems with DDTS-100. My systen curently is: Creative S750, DDTS-100 and Audigy 2 ZS. I can't understand how this DDTS-100 is working. I try to coneect Audigy2 ZS to DDTS using coaxial connection, but when I done this DDTS sound only in Stereo mode. Is it OK. I can't tur on Dolby and DTS on it. Then I try to connect some radio uzing Anolaog input. When I uze Analog input I can Chose betven Stereo Dolby and DTS, But still I cant Switch on Dolby digital or differnet sound modes. And if I tur On Dolby or NEO6 then I don't hera sound from side speakers . I'm wery upsad. I can't Understand how this DDTS-100 is working...
    Pls give me some advice...
    Regards,
    RaimizA

Analog output on the soundcard --> DDTS-100 switchbox
    Switchbox --> DDTS-100 main unit
    Switchbox --> Speakers
Digital out on the soundcard --> Coaxial input on the DDTS-100 main unit
The digital output on the soundblaster can ONLY SEND OUT EITHER A PCM STEREO SIGNAL OR AN ENCODED DATA STREAM (AC-3). In order to make the DDTS-100 decode the data stream correctly you MUST have the software set to SPDIF passthrough and also have that set in the Audio HQ or the Audio console. Put the switchbox to decoder mode. The only way to light up the lights of the DTS and Dolby Digital is to feed the main unit with an encoded data stream of those sound formats. If you try to play anything and put it through the digital out that is not DTS or DD you are going to get... Stereo.
In order to get sound from the side speakers you must first set the switch on the back of the DDTS-100 main unit to 6.1/7.1 and set the upmix to 5.1-->7.1 or 6.1-->7.1 (depending on the source) on the main volume controller of the S750.
