Connecting DVD-Player with GigaWorks S750

I'm going to buy a GigaWorks S750 system. Will I need an extra decoder like the DDTS-100 when I want to connect the soundsystem with the Computer (with Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro) and one of these things: DVD-Player, Radio, Walkman?
Thank's for your answers!

No, I wouldn't bother. You can connect both radio and walkman to two of the line-in sockets on the Audigy's external hub. A DVD player can be connected using the coax or optical inputs. One thing you can't do with the Audigy 2 is use Dolby Pro Logic II for PS2 games. If you don't have a PS2 to connect then, that's not really a problem.

Skip the DVD player use an HDMI connection to your system.

  • Can AE provide wired LAN connectto DVD player with internet streaming

    Hi!
Can you please tell me if the Airport Express (in a home network that has a Airport Extreme as the primary router) be used to connect wirelessly to the router and then use the LAN 100 port to connect a DVD player with internet video streaming.
Bottom line, can the AE LAN port be used to feed a wired connection, or is it only for taking a LAN input to create a wireless network?
    Thanks!

You could continue to use the older "g" devices to stream with AirTunes, but yes, the slower "g" speeds will drag down the performance on the network.
I would give a strong look to ethernet powerline adapters. They are almost as good as having a straight ethernet cable connection and will provide much more bandwidth and speed than wireless.
If you are going to download movies or stream audio and vide, wireless is not the way to go. Ethernet is always the best way to go if possible. Second choice is ethernet powerline adapters. Distant third for movie streaming or gaming applications would be wireless.

  • Looking for a DVD Player with same functionality as CyberPro Power DVD

I have just converted from PC to Mac, and love it, but have a special requirement and need some guidance.
I work in TV and need to be able to preview footage shot on site that has been converted onto a DVD. On my old PC using Power DVD, after hitting 'Play' I can fast forward and fast reverse, and increase the speed of FF or FR in small increments (up to 32 times normal speed) using the scroll wheel on my mouse. That gives me a lot of control as I search through countless hours of footage to shot list, and saves heaps of time.
With the standard Mac DVD Player, I can hold down the FF and FR buttons to get a slight increase in speed, but it is still far too slow and clumsy for what I need.
VLC was recommended, but when I hold down the FF and FR it scrolls in minutes, whereas I need to scroll in frames.
Does anybody know of a high quality DVD Player with the scrolling features similar to Power DVD that I can purchase?

    Have you tried, +DVD Player>Controls>Scan Rate+ ?

  • Can I use my Apple DVD player with USB connector with my new iPad?

Can I use my Apple DVD player with USB connector with my new iPad?

No, the iPad won't recognise it. If you are wanting to copy content to the iPad then you will need to copy it to your computer first, and you can then sync it to your iPad.

  • How to connect DVD player to FIOS TV (with standard TV)

The Verizon techs installed my FIOS system. I already have the router, DVR and standard TV connected and working. How do I add a DVD player to the mix?
I found wiring diagrams for my FIOS DVR, but they do not include my configuration. Here is what I found:
    http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/FiOSTV/Receivers/Wiring+Diagrams/Motorola+7232+HD+DVR/12763...
The above diagram includes an A/V receiver, which I don't think my configuration includes. The tutorial does not offer a choice of configuration that is just the DVR, standard TV, and DVD player.
Where do I find a wiring diagram that connects my DVR, standard TV and DVD player? Do I have to do anything to the router when I connect the DVD player? Sometimes I see references to set top boxes--are they the same thing as the DVR?
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Sorry to hear about you trouble.
If you are using a standard TV you need to check the back ports for RCA connections. They are listed as video/audio inputs, with color coding.
From your DVD player use RCA output jacks, yellow for video, red and white for audio
Take other end of RCA cables and connect to TV inputs at the back
Set your TV to what ever input was used for DVD player and this should allow you to see DVD from TV.
I sent you a PM if further assistance was needed.

  • IPod classic wont play 3rd party dvd player with apple composite cable

I want to play the videos in my iPod classic 120GB(MB526LL) on my Phillips DCP750 dvd player. I am using the Apple Composite cable which I brought in the spring of 2008 with the Apple Universal Dock (MB125G) and they will not play. When I tried to just use the cable with the Phillips I received the error message “ TV Out Enabled Please Connect Video Accessory “ so I brought the dock Using the dock I do not get the message. Instead the audio comes through the headphones on my iPod but no video on the dvd player nor on the iPod. I have the iPod settings to TV out, screen standard and PAL since I am in the UK. Is it possible that my cables are too old and do not have the chip that I have read about? Should I be using the component cable rather than the composite? I have tried to find the older firmware prior to 1.0.2 but can’t. Is it worth my while to make an appointment with my local Apple store and take cables, player, dock and iPod to the Genius bar? If anyone has had this problem and figured it out could they explain to me step by step what I should be doing. I hate the idea of having to spend more money on cables and will probably just continue to watch videos on the ipod or else on the Macbook if I can not figure out a work around.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm so frustrated that this new iMAC doesn't have a program to do this.
    Tell Apple:  http://www.apple.com/feedback/
IDVD is included with iLife 11 ON DISK.
For making movies there is no alternative or substitute for iDVD. (Buy it while you still can.)
I've tried Burn and Toast and many others, iDVD is by far the best.

For the best quality, I use iMovie 06 with iDVD 11.

  • Connecting DVD player, speakers and stereo receiver to mac pro

I'd like to 'integrate' my living room system with my Mac Pro.
This entails connecting my living room speakers and digital DVD player to my Mac. My stereo receiver is outdated so I plan to buy a new one. The reason I want to connect the DVD player is so I can use the remote control with it. Unless there's a remote I can buy for the Mac Pro ?
    (1) What cables do I need to connect a stereo receiver
    (2) Can anyone recommend a good receiver that's compatible with Mac
    (3) What do I need to connect my speakers to my Mac ? The speaker connect with standard speaker wire, + and -

There are several remotes for the Mac Pro that will control its DVD player, such as

The Mac Pro can't drive speakers directly. You need powered speaker, ao an amplifier.

  • Using dvd player with apple TV and airplay

I am having problems to use the apple TV to see a DVD with the air play mode
I tried to watch a movie using the default DVD player that comes with my iMac and when I activated air play to connect the iMac with the projector through the Apple TV, the video window would go blank
The problem disappears as soon as I disactivate airplay but then I cannot use the projector big screen
Funny eough I do not have this problem when I use VLC to watch .avi files
    Can anyone help?
    thanks
    Valentina
PS I have the latest version of the Apple TV

it happens with remote desktop too it's the DRM copy protection of dvd's which kick in
so the native player is doing the right thing and VLC may be breaking the law as it's compromising the digital material in a way it could be copied

  • Problem with gigawork s750 speakers

I was wondering if someone could help me? I have the gigawork s750 and x-fi elite pro. When I play music only the center, side, rear left and right speakers play all the songs. When I do the check they all work, but I still have no idea how to make them all work at once? anyone help me would be greatly apreciated
    thanks,
    tuggy

Can you confirm that the individual speakers are all working correctly by swapping them around to see if the fault follows the speakers or remains on the channel where they were. If the speakers are ok, then there maybe a fault with the sub woofer or sound card. You could check this by using different speaker system to verify the sound card or connect the speaker system to another sound card, but both are time consuming tests.

  • DVD Player with 10.4.3

I put in a commercially produced DVD of a film that has played many times without any problem and the system responds by asking me "What I would like to do with this blank CD-ROM"
Is there a system log somewhere that has got in a mess ?

    l'hudson,
Perhaps the preference has been corrupted or needs to be reset.
Go to System Preferences...>CDs & DVDs>When you insert a video DVD: (Open DVD Player)

  • DVD menu title selection on DVD player with DVD's burn from iDVD

Regarding DVDs burned with iDVD 6.0.3, I have burned multiple DVDs with 6 buttons on the main menu page each of which links to a short film. On the menu screen when I push the right arrow button on the DVD remote not all the menu buttons light up. In addition to pushing the right arrow button on the remote, I have to push the up or down arrow button on the remote (to the DVD player hooked up to the TV) to get to some of the buttons in my DVD menu to be selectable. The buttons are arranged by me in a grid sort of pattern. Is there a way in iDVD I can get all the buttons to be selectable using only the right or left arrow keys on the DVD player remote? Do you understand what I am asking?

    Hi powerbookaid
And welcome to apple discussions. It's actually difficult to find standalone versions on ebay and CL / Apple's FCP and DVDSP. I found them myself but it took me a very long time. Not always something you can do overnight. But if you are very patient something will show up eventually.
If you need something now that works (although I advise caution as in backup your dvd or video_TS first) then consider this app for much less money (donationware):

  • CANT connect DVD player to '5.1 inspire' via DIGITAL CABLE!! arrrg!

I have a "CyberHome CH-DVD 300S" DVD player and a "Inspire 5.1 5200" Creative speakersI want to connect the DVD player directly to the speakers system and maintain my 5.1 sound. Both the dvd player and creative speakers are capable.
    Heres my problem
The 'digital coaxial' jack that comes from the DVD player is 'Composite RCA' style and the digital input jack on the creative speakers is '1/8th inch' or headphone jack style. NO PROBLEM nothing radio shack cant fix. ... I plug it all up and turn my dvd player to output digital signal and nothing happens.
Are both of these runing different protocols?
    Surely someone has attempted this.
    Thanks in advanced.

My setup writes DVD's in almost ANY format. Still SUX! But... yes, what she said. You'll always need to decode and, if I'm thinking correctly :smileyindifferent: you must specifically have digital speakers to "go" digital on yer settings, et.al. At the very least you'll need an RF Modulator just to hook up to cable box (or sattelite, etc.). Keep your Brave Face on for this one-it may take some extra dollars to achieve your goals. Good Luck, and... we're watching. G!
