Connecting Edirol UA-25 Interface to iMac

hi all. i just bought an iMac and successfully installed the Edirol UA-25 software. However, when i restart the iMac after installation and plug in the interface, my mac doesn't recognize it...nor does the interface turn on. i tried finding it when searching in the sound utilities and it wasn't available in that drop-down list either. what else can i do? i tried re-installing the software and it confirms that installation is successful...so, i don't really know what to do next. (i'm admittedly new to this.) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
as far as i know, the Edirol has a switch on it's back to select between standard and advanced drivers. Standard should work with Core Audio Standard (without drivers), but to use "Advanced" you need the newest Roland driver.
The buzzing can have other causes. Please make shure you put your speaker's power cord into the same power outlet source as your iMac and (if it has) the edirol power connector. Check if none of the cables is lying beneath a power cable, transformer or whatever could induce humming.
But: If the problem persists, and you just bought the Edirol, turn it back to the dealer - it may be a defect (this may happen even with edirol )

  • Edirol UM-1ex interface compatibility

    Hey guys,
Just wondering if any has had issues with the 10.5.2 update being compatible with there USB MIDI interfaces.
I have a Roland Juno-D synth plugged into my iMac via the edirol UM-1ex interface. I had avoided the 10.5.2 update (as i know how many problems its still causing) but unfortunately it was installed the other day. Now my synth is not working with Logic 8/Garageband.
The MIDI Audio device doesn't seem to be working either. When you create a setup and then click 'Test Setup' the cursor should turn into musical notes but it no longer does.
I've been in contact with Pro Apps (who have no clue on what to do) and turned me to forums, i've spoken with Edirol who have subsequently hit the roof that their product is no longer compatible.
Im just hoping that im not the only one experiencing this so i can positively point out that the update has caused this and its not my equipment. If anyone has any info regarding this i would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Have you installed the latest driver?
    Have you restarted the Mac?
Have you shut down, re-connected the UM then re-started the Mac? ( A cold boot will re-set the USB bus).
Do you have any other USB devices connected ( remove them and repeat Shut down + Restart)

  • Edirol Audio/Midi Interface and Yamaha Keyboard

    Hi everybody,
I just got an Edirol Audio/Midi interface UA-20, installed correctly with latest drivers, garage band recognizes it. Now I want to connect my old Yamaha PSR SQ16 keyboard through it, but somehow it doesn't work. Can anybody please give me a guidance on how to connect it properly, maybe i'm too dumb for that...
    Thanks for any help!

I'm shure you must have already figured this out, becouse it's very simple thing to do, but I'll post my answer anyway, perhaps someone else has the same problem.
The Yamaha PSR SQ16 has a "MIDI OUT" plug, in the back of the sinthetizer. To connect with de UA20 Edirol, all you need to do is to get a midi cable (you can find it in every music store) and plug the Yamaha PSR SQ16 MIDI OUT to the Edirol UA20 MIDI IN.
    And boy, that's it.
All the fantastic sounds and samples that cames with Garageband, are now triggerd through your Yamaha PSR SQ16.
Things to check: in the AUDIO MIDI UTILITY, be shure that the UA20 is set as de midi in out device.
In Preferences of Garageband, be shure to check that the UA20 is set as audio and midi interface.
    Hope this be helpfull.
I apologise for my english, it isn't my first language.

ASA 5505 configured for WebVPN connecting to Citrix Web Interface.
i have a ASA 5505 that I am attempting to configure for WebVPN with passthrough into Web Interface .  The user authenticates into WebVPN OK and gets the option to click on the Citrix Link (which is i add bookmark  citrix server http:// 172.30.40.5.) i enter the citrix and then for example  i want to open to outlook it can not open. (when i want to open some application no application is open)).there is no alarm at asa. how i solve this issue?
    thanks.

    Teymur,
Can you confim that after disabling the ssl/tls on the Citrix server (secure connectivity) that you are getting exactly the same error.  It is possible that it is generating a different error.
The bug where we have see the existing error was CSCtf06303 but that has been fixed in 8.4.1.  Can you confirm the exact version of code you are running on the ASA.
If you have confirmed the above two notes it may be adventageous to open a TAC case as we may need to do some live additional troubleshooting.
    Thanks

  • How do I get windows to connect to the internet on my iMac

How do I get Windows 7 Home Premium to connect to my existing internet connection, on my iMac (Lion 10.7.3)?  The installation of the Windows 7 using Bootcamp went fine, up to the point of getting connected to the internet.  My iMac side of the partition connects to the internet just like it always did.

You should ask this in the boot camp forum.
You will probably get more help there.

  • I have a Power PC G4 which is running on OSX 10.5.8, it has the AirPort utility but cannot connect to the internet as my iMac can, I think I might need an AirPort Card? Is that the case or do I need something different to connect to a wireless modem?

I have a Power PC G4 which is running on OSX 10.5.8, it has the AirPort utility but cannot connect to the internet as my iMac can, I think I might need an AirPort Card? Is that the case or do I need something different to connect to a wireless modem?

    Welcome!
Only one variant of the PowerMac G4 could use the faster Airport Extreme Card. The rest used the original Airport card that is pretty slow.
To get fast wireless without buying more than one thing, consider this:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Edimax/EW7722IN/
It goes in an available PCI slot
There are USB solutions also. However, all PowerMac G4 towers had only slower USB 1.1 ports, so any USB wireless adaptor can only run at about wireless 'B" speeds (slow) unless you also install a PCI USB 2.0 adaptor card. Doing that would allow a USB wireless adaptor to run at its maximum rated speed. These items working together would accomplish that:
    USB wireless "dongle:"
Newer Technology MAXPower 802.11n/g/b USB Adapter + Plug and play direct or with extension cradle
    USB PCI adaptor:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/Search/Search.cfm?Ntk=Primary&Ns=P_Popularity%7c1&Ne=5 000&N=7069&Ntt=USB+PCI
Each approach has its advantages. The PCI wireless card is a one-piece solution that takes up no desk space. The USB2 card+USB2 Dongle gives you more fast ports for transferring date from other external USB devices (primarily cameras and external hard drives) at hugely faster rates than can the original ports. I have a USB 2 PCI card in my G4 tower strictly for transferring images from my digital SLR camera in a timely manner.

  • Why is wireless router connectivity is different with Powerbook than iMac?

I had problems with my 10.2 on the G3 450 iMac (that caused me to go to 10.3 about 2 weeks ago), my trusty old Buffalo router fried its WAN port. I replaced it with a Netgear unit, then a Linksys unit, now I'm back to Buffalo. The ongoing problem is that the laptop has a heck of a time connecting to the internet - while the iMac (via ethernet) has no problems whatsoever. It doess/did this with every manufacturer of routers I tried (since first I thought it may be a Netgear incompatibility issue).
Strange part about the problems: Only initially does it spend 20+ seconds (close to Safari/Firefox timeout) "looking for" the host. Once it has found it, if you click on any links within the same host, it's lightning-fast. Just the initial callup seems to be inordinately difficult. I was hoping new firmware for the wireless modem, 10.4, the latest Airport update etc would alleviate the situation - no such luck. It USED to work fine on the old wireless router ... Also, it does this "looking for" business whether I have security enabled or not (I usually run 128bit encoding).
I don't really mind waiting for a few seconds for a site to load, but when you're talking about something like Yahoo or ESPN, all these independent advertising servers have to be contacted to load the page and - you guessed it - it's a 20+ second delay for each one...
I've rebooted the router and the laptop many times; I doubt it's the cable modem as the Ethernet on the iMac comes from the same router an doesn't have a problem at all. Any chance it's a setting of some sort in the preferneces panels?
The problem appeared initially with the Netgear router. The whole reason I went back to Buffalo is that I never had any issues in the 4 years I owned the previous one (until the WAN port went out). I also tried a Linksys router but admittedly didn't spend a lot of time with it as the delay problem appeared right from the start.
As far as 3rd party hardware is concerned, I wouldn't mind just getting an Apple Airport station at this time, but really don't want to spend the $ if it's an issue with either the laptop or its Airport card. I guess I could get one here at the local Apple store and bring it back if it doesn't work any differently (at least then I'd know it's either a laptop or a Comcast Cable-issue...).
    System setup:
    Desktop: G3 "Graphite" iMac / slot-loading / 400Mhz / 640MB RAM / 10.3.9
    Laptop: 15" G4 Aluninium Powerbook / 1.25Ghz / 1GB RAM / 10.4.6
Wireless: Buffalo AirStation Turbo G WHR-HP-G54 (wireless to laptop / ethernet to iMac).
    Powerbook 15/1.25GHz/1GBRAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

It sounds as though you're having a problem with DNS lookups. Try this, type into Terminal (Applications > Utilities)…
    sudo lookupd -flushcache
It will subsequently ask you for your administrator password. Type it in and then wait for the prompt to return. Do not do anything before then. Now, restart and see if things are any better.

  • I have connected the adapter and cable from imac to GVA HD tv but nothing seems to be happening.

I have connected the adapter and cable from imac to GVA HD tv but nothing seems to be happening. Any suggestions?

Was that message showing a s dialog when selecting the tv connection as a sound output device?  I ask because I don't know the exact context of that message and never heard of it before.
It may be helpful to take a screen shot of both that message and also the list of the sound output devices while the tv is connected.
You never specified your model (year) of your imac so I don't know its limitations.  Maybe some version doesn't support sound through the mini-displayport (hard to believe any model wouldn't with mini-displayport).  But if that is the case you may have to resort to analog stereo from you stereo line out output jack to your tv.
One final thing.  The mini-displayport adapter you have may not support audio.  That was a possibility a few years ago.  That is why most places that sells these things also explicity specify whether the adapter supports audio.  For example, monoprice's adapter:
Mini DisplayPort | Thunderbolt® to HDMI® Adapter w/ Audio Support
or even the Moshi adapter sold through the apple store.
Moshi Mini DP to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support
Note both these adapters explictily say they have audio support.

  • Connect 2 external Displays with a iMac 27''

    Hi,
is there a way to connect two external Displays with a iMac 27inch. Eyefinity? Its a Radeon 5750 inside the iMac isnt it?

    Hi,
For the first screen is no brainer you use the Apple adapter to have video out to HDMI or DVI, but the second screen is where it gets tricky...
There are USB to DVI out external video cards that should work with the iMac and OS X 10.6 but I have changed. Honestly I have tested 6 so far and none of them works as advertised, you can not even set minimal resolution on there and some wont even work ( all of them come with OS X 10.6 drivers )
So I will recommend to stay away from the small $70 or $90 external USB to VGA/DVI cards...
(maybe someone has luck with them but i have tried like I said 6 so far different brand and no luck..)
Now recently online I tripped over a nice external video card that takes the MiniVideo Port out from the Mac and then takes it to another 2 monitors price was $249 i think, and you could hook up 2x30" monitors with hight res... I will try to find this link and post here later on.

    Goran
