Connecting EP7.0

Hello,
I'm trying to connect two EP 7.0 to my Solution Manager. The automatic data transfer does not recognize them and when i define them in smsy, the data like software components are not transferred. If i put the dispatchers, servers manually and i go to utilities->analyses and try to catch the patch number and software components it does nothing.
On the other side solman capture automatically other portals that i have not to connect to it.
Anybody knows the reason of this?
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards
Carlos

The SMD collect the data automatically when you insert the system in smsy manually.

  • Connecting EP7.0 to iSeries backend system using the connector framework

    Hello All,
We are trying to setup a backend connection in EP7.0 to an AS/400 Legacy database using the JDBC Connector framework.
We use the driver and url syntax from OSS note 773401 "Configuring Portal JDBC System connection properties"
    Driver:
    com.sap.portals.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver
    URL: jdbc:sap:db2://<server>:<port>;DatabaseName=<database_name>
When performing a connection check using the Support Platform, we can see on the legacy system that the connection is being established but for some reason the Portal doesn't get a confirmation and runs in to an endless loop...
Does anyone have a experience with such a connection?
Can we use the standard db2 driver class as mentioned in note 773401 or do we need to create/deploy our own?
    Thanks in advance

  • Connect EP7 Portal to 2nd BW7 system

    Hi All,
    I have EP7 and BW7 . Both SP11 and configured as BI7 system.
I want to "disconnect" the BW7 system and connect <b>other</b> BW7 system to the portal.
    Can I run template configurator?
I know that I'll need to change the RFC's destinations in the portal but do I need to delete/change some more settings before setting the connection between the EP and the new BW?
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Solved it my own.
Deleted SAP_BW system in the Portal.
    Deleted RFC destination in SM59.
    Deleted RFC destination in VA.
Ran "Template Installer" and it worked!

    Any ideas are welcome

    Hi,
check out the server properties - maybe there is something wrong there in. It talks about very strange properties:
    Thr 46973636254432 *** WARNING => INFO: Unknown property http://instance.box.number=SIDJC00mmtsrv123 http://jstartxx_mt. 841

    Thr 46973636254432 *** WARNING => INFO: Unknown property http://instance.system.id=0 http://jstartxx_mt. 841
You may also take a look at the instance.properties file - it will provide a summary of all properties for server, dispatcher, bootstrap and startup. I'm wondering about the http://jstartxx_mt. 841 entries.

  • Dynamically build a SAP Transaction menu?

    Hi All,
We are connecting EP7 to an ECC backend to run SAP transactions.
Rather than building hundreds of roles in the portal, or uploading them,  is it possible to have the portal dynamically build a detailed navigation menu for each user by reading a person roles in the backend ECC system?
I've heard that this can be done with a custom iView.  It reads the User Menu from the backend and displays it in the portal. Is this iView available for downloading?
    Thanks

    Hi Anton,
If I understand you correctly then you have a webdynpro iView with 2 values and you want to access a transaction iView by sending these 2 values as input parameters.
You can achieve this using Portal Navigation. This document provides details:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b5380089-0c01-0010-22ae-bd9fa40ddc62
    API:
    public void navigateAbsolute(java.lang.String navigationTarget,
                                 WDPortalNavigationMode mode,
                                 java.lang.String windowFeatures,
                                 java.lang.String windowName,

                                 java.lang.String contextUrl,
                                 java.lang.String businessParameters,
                                 java.lang.String applicationParameters,

  • Integration of BI 7.0 and EP7.0, problem with connection

    Hi all,
I am trying to integrate Ep7.0 (located in one server) with BI 7.0 (located on another server). I have successfully created a system in EP. I clicked on connection tests and this is the report which i am getting. Kindly let me know what are the possible measures i can take to rectify this issue.
    SAP Web AS Connection
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.
    2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
    3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
    4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
    5. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.
    6. Pings the server to see if it is alive.
    7. Pings the WAS ping service; works only if the service is activated on the ABAP WAS.
    8. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application
      Results
    1. The system ID is valid
    2. The system was retrieved.
    3. The system object represents an SAP system
    4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (xxxx.xxxx.com:8001)
    5. The host name xxxx.xxxxx.com was resolved successfully.
    6. The server xxxxx.xxxxx.com was pinged successfully.
    7. The Web AS ping service http://xxxxx.xxxxx.com:8001/sap/bc/ping was pinged successfully.
    8. An HTTP/S connection to http://xxxxx.xxxxx.com:8001/sap/bw/bex was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.
    Test Connection with Connector
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
      Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
    Connection successful

  • Is this possible to connect Trex 6 To EP7?

    Hi Experts,
We did instal Trex 6.0 and it's working with EP6 Portal, now We install a Sandbox EP7 to do some test, I'm just wondering can I connect this to current Trex or I should install new Trex 7.0?
    Thanks,
    Matryam

Francesco, as long as I know it's WLS 5.1 that doesn't support WTC and not Tuxedo
6.5. We are using Tuxedo 6.5 and WLS 6.1.
The xml configuration file is only on the WTC (therefore WLS) side.
But you also need to modify the Tuxedo configuration file.
There are some messages posted to this newsgroup that tell you how to configure
    both sides.
    Ciao,
    Stefano

We need to invoke EJBs located on WLS 5.1 from Tuxedo 6.5
Is it possible via WTC or do we need to use a newer version or Tuxedo
I have read the WTC docs and they speak about an XML Configuration File(ref.
    "Create
    a Configuration File").
But as much as I know Tuxedo 6.5 uses plain text config files.
Can anybody suggest me the right steps for creating a configuration file
    with
the versions of Tuxedo and WLS that I have mentioned?
    Thanks a lot

But how to find out if an EP7 is connected to a TREX?  Thanks!

you can check it in visual administrator , TREX name server .

We only have AS-ABAP installed for BI, will this be a problem? Could it be configuration for the WAS portion of the system object (which fails in the connection test).
I'm stumped as to why the connection test would provide a successful backend connection based on the paramters but not be able to launch a WinGui Transaction iView.
    Thanks,
    Matt

You might be missing an entry for sapmsSID in your services file on the portal server.

  • Creating a System in System Landscape of EP7.0 connecting to ESS6.0

Could someone explain in detail and hopefully with examples, of the process of creating the System with the alias 'SAP_WebDynpro_XSS' in the System Landscape when implementing ESS.
I am getting an error message of wrong password, and I think it has to do with the fact that I haven't entered this data in correctly.
    Thanks,

  • SLD in R/3 4.6C and WebDynPro calling BAPI from EP7.0 to 4.6C

    Hi,
First let's describe the landscape :
    - EP7.0
    - R/3 4.6C
Second, the goal : I want to do WebDynpro that will communicate with the R/3 4.6C.
To achieve that, a EP7.0 (based on NW2004s SR2 that was "upgraded" to SPS10) was recently installed.
No problem with this one. The SLD server (local server) is installed on this portal.
As there is no gateway on the portal, I took the gateway of the R/3 4.6C for the SLD server.
The ABAP system was created manually in the SLD server.
I then created the two JCo and it seemed to work fine (as least the tests were OK)
When I created a WebDynPro that I published on the portal I was able to retreive the BAPI of the R/3 server, I was able to send him my requests but I received nothing from the R/3.
I also noticed when I tried to configure SLD in the R/3 that the tcode SLDCHECK, SLDAPICUST were not present. Do you need a defined SP level to be able to run them ? Are they important for my use ?
The question is : is my configuration wrong (SLD...) or is my Java code in the WebDynpro wrong ?
    TIA,
    Denis.

    Raghav,
The most common reason for this error is exactly what it says, you have somehow overlooked including a material/plant in a PR IM.
Go into the failed queue, find all material/plants that exist in the failed LUW.  Enter these one by one into CFM5 in R/3.  You should have one and only one active model for each of these materials.  Inactivate all but one IM if there are multiple PR models active.
If this PR is for a STO, then you must have open active IMs for both the source and destination plant materials.
Now, you say that in SCM you cannot select the models, this means that they are not active and valid.  If you can find the model in R/3, but Delta3 can't find it, it implies that there is some type of error with connectivity, perhaps in your system destination definitions.  Wrong RFC connection name, wrong server id, wrong client, etc in SM59.   Or, wrong logical system name.  Check these on both sides.
More unlikely, but also possible, check is for inconsistencies in the IMs.  In R/3, run RAPOKZFX.  Regenerate your IM runtimes with RCIFIMAX.
Finally, it is possible that you have userexits that are impacting the CIF.  Talk to your developers to see if any have been activated.

  • Guide ep7.0 with backend R/3 4.7?

    Hi, gurus:
where can i find ess configuration on ep7.0 with backend R/3 4.7?
in nw04 and nw04s, ep use JCo connects backend.
what connection type is used by r/34.7?
    Thanks
    Br,
    Chrina

    Hi Chrina,
If you look at the link below it states what SAP recomends your release should be for each business package:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio
    ESS 50.4 -> EP 5/6, R3 4.6C/4.7
    ESS 60.2 -> EP 7, ERP 2004
    ESS 1.0   -> EP 7, ERP 2005
I have implemented ESS 50.4 with EP7 and both R3 4.7 and ERP 2005.  It can be done, but when I spoke to a contact from SAP they stated the landscape I was using was not recommend and there was no documentation availbale for the specific landscape.  You have to use bits of documents from various guides.
    Thanks,
    Nick.
