Connecting Epson projector to my iMac

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Right now it hasn't been working for the last two days. I've got the vga-dvi cable/adaptor going from the projector into the iMac. But on the screen I only see the blue Apple desktop - no icons. I've tried adjusting some things in the display setting, but I still can't project fully what is on my computer. Any ideas or solutions?

Have you tried pressing F7? (Or go in to System Preferences > Displays and check the Mirror displays option is checked.) The blue blank desktop sound like you're in Dual-Display mode.

I do not have an Epson printer. However, I did look at their web site. It "appears" that the printer has no built-in wireless connectivity. However, I "think" you could set up a little wireless network with an Airport Express (see description on this web site). Do some research before you spend any money.

Connecting with projector

Hello! I hope someone can help me with the problem..
I am trying to connect my IMAC G5 with a video projector.
I have been doing this for years with i book G4, using video adaptor,
and it has always worked.
This time, however, when I connect the projector with my IMAC,
(the 17 inch) the resolution changes to 1024-640, thus the image on the screen
get "swollen"..
Even if I try to change the resolution in the system preference panel,
(Display window), it just doesn't work out; if I change it to 1670 resolution
as it should be, the image becomes "smaller" with a black frame around it.
(In this case, the swollen image gets slim as before.)
I had doubt that the video adaptor is not the right one.
(According to the guy in the computer shop in Turin, it is Mini-VGA
and it should work out OK likewise with Imac G5)
I tried with a computer adaptor, too, that came with Ibook, but it is the same.
The Mac technical assistance says that there is something wrong with my IMAC and I should take it to the repair.
Is it really only the solution? or is there something else that I can try?

Hi, did you get this solved. We also you ProPresenter. I am not sure why you mirrored the screen to get a DVD to play? PP supports DVD playback (unless your using an older version that doesnt have this feature??). Or you can drag the DVD window to the projector display.
Did you deselect mirror image? because you wont have any arrangement options available, you wouldn’t need them.

This has been a big pain. I got the machine back, started it at the shop and it "seemed" ok. When I got it home, after 30 minutes or so, the same problems came back. Another call to applecare, and a new case number was issued to replace the hard drive. New HD in, got the machine home, and the mouse wouldn't work! I could move the cursor, but not select anything. Sometimes during the restarts I could select things, the next time I couldn't, sometimes I could on one user account and not on another. New call to applecare, new case number, many things tried, but ended up re-installing the OS. So far it seems to work okay, BUT there is something weird going on with Mail.
As soon as it is started it basically consumes all the system memory. I can watch the available memory disappear in activity monitor where it says Mail is using nearly 100% of the CPU. If I go in to preferences-advanced in Mail and disable the account, it stops eating up resources.
Any clues to what is going on??

I think it may be superior to get a VGA or HDMI adapter and use the display features built into your Macintosh.

Macbook MiniVGA Display port Epson Projector Issues "Not Supported"

I have been using my Macbook OSx 10.8.5 with a Rocketfish Mini Displayport to VGA adapter (RF-AP307) connected to an Epson Projector (Powerlite83plus) for 3 weeks and just the other day a blue screen appeared on the projector stating that the computer is 'Not Supported'.
Actions I have already tried:
- turned on and off mirroring
- changed the refresh rate
- unplugged VGA adapter and restarted the computer
- attempted to install firmware update for MiniVGA display port following directions located here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/_Mini_DisplayPort_to_VGA_Firmware_Update (update failed because VGA adapter not found)
Anyone having similar issues and have some additional solutions? Need a solution fast, if I need to buy another VGA adapter I will but would rather not have to spend the money again...

That update is for the Apple branded adapter, not the Rocketfish adapter.
I have the same adapter as you and have had no problems. That doesn't really mean anything other than the part does work with many types of projectors. Yours could have failed, though. Does it work on any other display or projector?

I have put some of my problems up there as well. For me nothing worked. Nobody in two Apple stores could help. VGA adapter did not work at all, regardless of the order of connecting cable and adapter. Tried two more adapters and two more cables. Mini-Displayport to DVI -Adapter did also not work. Everything works well under MacOS. Must indeed be something with the Thunderbolt/Mini-Displayport combination port and the Windows driver.
Any idea how to report this to Apple?

Epson projector does not recognize mac pro. I have a new mac and it only shown the epson when I check mirror on monitors preferences. The former mac use to be recognized as soon as it was plugged. The epson projector works well connected to a tv receiver.

Using a projector with 17" imac

I got a new imac and have been trying use it with my epson 81p projector. In order to get it to work i have to change the resolution of the imac to that it shrinks the computer display and does not take advantage of the available screen area. In addition it beats up the display of small text so obviously this is not the way to go.
I guess the projector does not match up with the new HD screen dimensions?
Do I need a different projector?

You can't just plug it in and talk to Nana in Holland.
You have to use some program which utilizes the audio input.
Speech can hear me just fine... but nothing else can.
What can't hear you?
iTunes, Safari and Mail (etc...) don't use the audio input.
I think I read somewhere that I buy something to make it work?
Not to make is work but something to use it with.
If you buy a boat and have no lake, it's not gonna do anything except look cool.

Connection to projector

Anyone have suggestions as the best connection from the ipad to a projector? I bought one and the connectors were both female. My local Apple store sold me the male connector, but the projector is not recognizing the ipad with this set-up. any suggestions?
