  • No SQL (hdbsql / HANA Studio) Connection to SAP HANA Rev. 69 (all services GREEN, running)

    Hi all,
after starting HANA instance (locally installed on Linux Laptop) via sapcontrol [1], checking with sapcontrol's GetProcessList as well as HANA Studio Admin Console Diagnosis Mode Shows all Services GREEN, running.
However, when I try to open "Default Administration" in HANA Studio, it "Refreshing Overview" and is busy till infinity.
Trying to connect via \c command of HDBSQL eventually works, but any commands like \ds (list schemas) will run till infinity without returning anything.
SAP Business One for HANA SLD shows the Server but not the Company DBs / schemas.
    I attached sapstart.log and statisticsserver_alert_sid.trc.

    I think you are right.
After doing many installation of HANA Server in differrent AWS instances it didn't work for me.
But when I installed the HANA Studio on another machine with more RAM it worked.
I think we have to install HANA Studio on another AWS instance with 16 GB RAM to make it run smoothly.

  • Unable to connect to HANA Studio on CAL using Microsoft Azure

    Hi
I have created a new instance in CAL on Microsoft Azure. I have started and activated the instance. In Azure also its in started mode and I am being billed. But then when I login using SYSTEM as user name and the Password that I created while setting up my instance in CAL, I get a message saying, "Invalid username or password".
I gave the Public IP address in putty, the port by default is 22. I clicked on open but I am getting a message, network error: Connection time out.
I opened HANA Studio and gave the public IP address, instance 00, User Name as system and password is the one I created during setting up of my instance in CAL. But I am unable to login here aswell.
Can any one please explain me what the issue is? Do I have to reset my password? How do I do that in CAL? Or is it any issue with the IP addresses?
As a technology its a good feature to access HANA on cloud but from user friendliness I find it very tough to access. I had same problems with AWS also. Good old days was good when you opened SAP Logon pad and accessed the system straightaway with single sign on. Is it possible to have some thing like single sign on while accessing HANA Studio on Cloud. I don't want to be entering the IP address each and every time I connect. And half the time the IP address doesn't connect.
    Please assist.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Pavan.

Are you sure the proper ports are opened and that your network is allowing you to actually access those specific ports?
Are you able to go to http://IP OF SYSTEM:8000 or http://IP OF SYSTEM:80 do either load up a page for you?

  • HANA Studio connection with HANA server in HANA One (Rev 56 and up)

    Dear HANA One Customers,
You must be aware of our latest HANA One release with HANA SP6 (blog: The specified item was not found. Once you launch a new instance using HANA One Rev 52.1, you can upgrade your instance to HANA Rev 56 or HANA Rev 62. You can do it in steps (Rev 52 -> Rev 56 -> Rev 62) or do directly (Rev 52 -> Rev 62). By the way, Rev 62 is the first HANA 1.0 SP6 release in HANA One. As we recommended, if you upgrade HANA Version to 56 or 62, please upgrade your HANA Studio and HANA Client to the corresponding version.
If you upgrade to either Rev 56 or Rev 62, you don't need to add any entry to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts to connect HANA Studio to use all the functionality of HANA Studio with HANA in cloud. While HANA One's add-on manager, upgrades. it makes a change in one configuration file (global.ini) for public_hostname_resolution.
However, if you change IP of your HANA One instance, you need to update this parameter which is described in the Quick Start Guide. The steps are summarized as:
In the Administration editor of HANA Studio,
Choose the Configuration tab. A list of all configuration files appears.
    Expand the global.ini configuration file
    Select the section public_hostname_resolution
Choose Next and enter the values map_hanaserver in the Key field and your IP or public DNS in the Value field.
For example, set the values as Key: map_hanaserver, Value: xx.xx.xx.xx if you use an IP address including an Elastic IP. If you use DNS as the value it could be ec2-xx-xx-xx-xx.compute-1.amazonaws.com
With this new feature, the same HANA Studio can connect to many HANA One instances at the same time which was not possible earlier prior to Rev 56.
    Thanks,
    Swapan

    Hi Chandra,
    We have solved the problem.
We have completed the following steps of the master guide of HANA:
Configuring Data Services for Metadata Import:
    1. Setting the Passphrase
1.1. Log into the Central Management Console of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise (BOE).
    1.2. Choose Manage > Applications
    1.3. Choose Data Services Application.
    1.4. Choose Settings.
    1.5. Enter the Encryption Passphrase.
    1.6. Choose Save.
Note: The passphrase you set here should be the same as the one you set in the SAP In_Memory Computing
    studio.
Postrequisite: Restart the TOMCAT and BOE services.

    Enrique.

  • Unable to connect to HANA One instance from HANA Studio

I am trying to add my HANA One instance to my HANA Studio and keep getting an error "The system is not reachable, the login data could not be considered". Any pointers on how to troubleshoot this would be much appreciated.

    Hello G,
We understand you situation very well. We are expecting a follow-up on the status based on our suggestion made within less than 1 hour after posting the issue even during weekend.
As far as your SAP HANA One Developer Edition, the suggestions made here for productive uses may not be relevant. Please follow-up appropriately posting and following SCN from where you initiated HANA One Dev Edition as SCN is heavily used for Dev Edition..
In either case, you should not keep any instance running till you can use it. We strongly recommend to stop the instance while you are not using it or between troubleshooting.
    @Gaurav,
We will appreciate an update here. We like to see you are start using SAP HANA One for productive uses immediately.
    Thanks and regards,
    Swapan

  • How can I create geographic charts with Lumira connected to SAP HANA?

    Hello All
I'm testing SAP Lumira and I want to make geographic charts with data from SAP HANA. This is possible when I use data from a local Excel-file. But not when I use data from SAP HANA. I was told it should work after installing Service Pack 8. But it still doesn't work. Maybe we have to turn something on, change a configuration file. Maybe it has to do with SAP Lumira, not with SAP HANA. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Here are some technical details:
    SAP HANA Version: 1.00.81.00.392776 (NewDB100_REL).
SAP Lumira Version: 1.19.0 (build 1099) (latest version).
    SAP HANA Studio Version: 1.00.81.0.
Windows Version: Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1.
    Kind regards, Robbert

    Hello Antoine
At paragraph 3.2.2 on page 73 it says:
Creating geography hierarchies with latitude and longitude data is not currently supported for SAP HANA data sources.
I think this explains everything. Well, almost everything. I created geographic charts with Lumira while connected with Excel or a csv-file. The question now is, am I waiting for an update of SAP Lumira or an update of SAP HANA? Or both?
    Kind regards, Robbert

  • Adding BW Modelling plugins in HANA Studio

    Hello Experts,
I installed SAP HANA Studio in my local machine (outside C:Program Files, i.e in  D Drive)
I followed 2 options to install BW Modelling Tools Plugin, both have been unsuccessful. Can some one please let me know what is missing.
I checked the pre-requisites mentioned in the installation document (http://help.sap.com/download/netweaver/bwmt/SAP_BW_Modeling_Tools_Installation_Guide_en.pdf) and my system has all the necessary ones.

  • Which ports are needed for SAP HANA Studio - HANA DB communication?

I want to connect SAP HANA Studio to a HANA instance. The HANA instance number is 40.

Do I need to open any other ports to make HANA Studio work with HANA DB?
    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
The HANA Studio connects to HANA DB Instance with JDBC on port 3<Instance number>15.
For your HDB with Instance Number 40, the port would be 34015.
HANA Studio will automatically assign the JDBC port number when you assign the instance number when you add new system.
Looking at the error message that you posted:
    !ENTRY com.sap.ndb.studio.navigator 4 1 2012-01-16 14:01:40.627
!MESSAGE [HDB hostname 40 (SYSTEM)] Error on refreshing system
It looks like the hostname entry was not entered correctly (you might have entered "hostname" value when adding the system in HANA Studio).
Here is an example of correct log entry on DCA database instance on hanasvr-01 server with Instance number 00:
    !ENTRY com.sap.ndb.studio.navigator 4 1 2012-01-10 13:55:23.598
    !MESSAGE [DCA hanasvr-01 00 (SYSTEM)]
You may want to delete and re-add your HDB instance in your HANA Studio.
    Regards,
    Ferry

How i will get this all details from could and how i will access from hana studio.please help i don't have option to created hana instance in could. please find below screen.

    Jana

    Hi Jana,
You can refer "Using a Trial SAP HANA Instance" Here is the link SAP HANA Cloud Platform
If you use SAP HANA Studio to connect your SAP HANA instance on HCP, you have to use SAP HANA Cloud Platform SDK to open a DB tunnel first. You can download the SDK from SAP Development Tools for Eclipse

  • Locked out of System in HANA Studio

The system locked me out saying that I had reached the maximum number of attempts. I am using a instance on the HANA Cloud Platform and connect to it by creating a tunnel. Once 24 hours are up the tunnel closed and when i started it up again it gave a new password to the system on HANA. When I started up HANA Studio the next day the system tried to reconnect but locked me out. Also locked out of the repository. Is there any way to fix this issue?

yes, but how can the system tell me that i am unlocked, if i can connect with "neo open-db-tunnel" but if i want to logon that sysem within eclipse it does not work, because i am locked? Something is wrong by default ... or i am, and that is what i want to figure out.
Fortunately the lock disappeared (for whatever reason yesterday evening).
But right at the moment i cannot logon via your version 1 (which seems to be a niceer way than the "neo open-db-tunnel"). It worked today morning, but not any more ...
I can choose my "Trial Instance", but then when trying to connect the system tells me i cannot add that cloud system and shows me a "NullPointerException" ...
version 2 is not a version i want to try ... seems to complicated and not realistic ...
And even more funny, when i do the oldfashione neo open-db-tunnel way, it connects with my shell, but if i want to logon within eclipse with the uptodate password from the shell, it tells me "Logon to SAP system host failed" and the reason is invalid credentials.
I am now totally confused ... and even more i again cannot proceed ... this is frustrating ...
thanks for any valuable hint ...
