Connecting external Screen with Toshiba DynaDock U3

Hi,
I have the following issue:
Bought two external Screens (Dell U2412M)
Notebook: ASUS Zenbook
Dynadock Station U3
Now, I connected the first Screen with DVI to the DynaDock and it works perfectly.
The Dockstation has only 1 port for DVI, so i had to connect the second Screen through HDMI, but unfortunately my dell Screens do not have HDMI Connection, but displayPort. so I bought a cable which can connect Displayport to HDMI. And i connected the Screen displayport with HDMI to the DynaDock.
Unfortunately my device do not recognize the second external Screen.
I have no idea why it is so.
Hope some kindly Person can help me.
Kind Regards,
Alessandro

>I have no idea why it is so.
Possible its not Dynadock issue
You should firstly check if the cable you bought is OK and would work without the usage of Dynadock
Connect an external monitor to HDMI port using this cable and check if it would work properly.
and just to confirm: the Dynadock U3 can handle up to 2 external monitors simultaneously.

  • Satellite P750 - Unable to connect external screen via VGA port

    Hello All,
    My problem is following:
I have been trying to connect my P750 (running on W7 x-64) to an external screen using the VGA port/cable. Unfortunately the external devices does not recognize my laptop. Laptop does recognise the external screen, you can see it in the graphic settings as additional display, but the screen says "no signal".
The computer always identifies the screen correctly, so it looks like there is communication from the screen to the PC, but not the other way round.
This has been checked with 3 separate screens and a TV - always the same. All the screens work properly with different PC's.
    I already did:
    - try to play with FN+F5 / "windows"+P buttons - no change
    - install the latest BIOS and Video drivers from Toshiba website - no change
Any suggestions how to make it work? Is it possible that the VGA port is faulty?
    Thank you in advance.

Hello and thank you for the tips,
I did try the options you suggested unfortunately with no success.
I actually got myself HDMI cable and this connection is working perfectly well. Luckily the very screen I want to attach my laptop to does have HDMI port. It is just a bit annoying to know that the d-sub port seems to be useless.
The lady from Toshiba tech support call centre suggested either OS re-install or sending it to Toshiba for repair/check as it is still under warranty. None of this options suites me at the moment, so I will probably stick to the HDMI. Still, I have a feeling it is a software rather than hardware problem.
    Cheers

  • External screen with macbook pro blinking

    Hi everyone,
i've an external screen ACER connected via hdmi to my macbook pro run on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
The problem is the external screen blinks every 3 or 4 minutes, i get a dark screen for 1 or 2 secondes
i tried to change both the cable and the adaptater [hdmi] but it seems that the problem come from the OS configuration.
When i open the console.app to see which are the errors i got
IOSurface: buffer allocation size is zero
every 2 or 3 minutes, i need your help please

I own a mac mini that stays connected to the 52" LCD 120hz in my living room. The image is perfect, and fits just fine. I did a mini-display port to dvi and got a monster cable adapter for dvi to hdmi which too it to my tv. I did have to go into the tv and set the tv to overscan I think on the image to make it fit and you will have to adjust the resolution on the computer. I can say the colors are darker on the tv and this is just due to the nature of the screen size. Newer LED tvs may be better, but mine is only 1 1/2 years old.
For an external display, just go to the educators link, select your college and you get $100 off. My wife is an educator and I am back in college so it's no hassle. Or they just ask for an ID. I own 2 24" ACD and they are nice. I do photography and a screen calibration is a must. Once done you'll be happy. And docking with the laptop is handy.

  • External screen with no power on macbook

It's so ridiculous that I can't have just an external screen on my macbook without power connected. Any software/pkg that fixes this?

The price you pay for being portable. If you want the configurability of a desktop, get a desktop.
The power required to process the video would drain the battery so fast you wouldn't be happy either.

  • External screen with new macbook pro 13"

Hello I've a issue with my new macbook pro 13" (i5,8go,SSD). I have a external 27" monitor yiiama B2776HDS-B1 who was working fine with my macbook pro 13" 2010 running on snow leopard. But with my new one, I've got a black border on each side of the screen with the same resolution (1920x1080) used with my old macbook. My macbook is linked with a vga cable and a apple mini display adaptator.

The newer MacBook Pros use ThunderBolt which came out after the MacBooks were discontinued. So you might post this question in the MacBook Pro forum for a better chance at an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/notebooks/macbook_pro

  • Flip an (external) screen with a MacbookAir

I am currently working on my master-thesis. During the developement of my prototype I came upon a litlle problem…
I would like to "flip" my external screen or my screen of my MacbookAir. Is their any kind of tweak or possibility to do this?
    Any sloution is welcome!
I have tried to download the program "Display Rotation Menu" but you can only rotate (90°, 180°, 270°) the external screen and I would like to flip it…
    Thank in advance!
    Pieter De Wachter

Thanks for the reply David Won1,
The only problem is, that I would like to flip my screen.
For example: If I can flip my screen it wouldn't be possible to read my text on my screen, because it's written in mirrorwriting. This means that the text that I am reading is written in reverse.
And for my master thesis I would like to have my screen in a "reverse" position, like the previous example.
Is there no tweak, program or solution that can help me?
Again, thanks for all the help.
    Pieter

  • Why can't i use my external screen with messagecentre

I could not get the message centre in Mountain Lion working. Now I read that it will not work when you've got a second screen connected to the iMac. What for is this, will there be a solution for this soon?
And how can we ask Apple to change this?

I presume you are talking about the Messages app.
To start it off you need to list an Apple ID that you want to use with the iMessages Service.
This can then be used to send and receive iMessages from iOS devices or other Messages apps
The app can also use the older style iChat Screen Names and IDs and these can be added the same way they were in iChat.
The "iChat Side"  is the bit that does the Screen Sharing and it should cope with some one using two Displays.
What you have to remember is that two side by side displays may have to be shown on one 15" monitor and everything can look very small.

  • Green Screen with Toshiba Satellite C75D-A

Hey Alicia, don't mean to bump a 2 month old topic but exactly what you described word for word is EXACTLY the problem I'm having in Windows 8. Exactly. I can't right click videos to turn off "hardware acceleration" either. Using software rendering instead of GPU also tends not to work. I've been having this issue about 3 months after buying Laptop. Which is a Toshiba so its different than yours. Updated all drivers (which is a pain on Toshiba's) and have tried everything. Don't be fooled by the quick fixes, usually restarting, waiting and what not it'll restore the videos but they always fall back to green screens.
The ONLY thing that has made a temporary fix and even this hasn't worked 100%, maybe like 75% is going to advanced options in IE and hitting the "reset" button then restarting my computer. Unfortunately I have to go in and redo all my settings which is a pain but that does occasionally fix it.
The videos this happens to are ALL video types, not just adobe unfortunately. Youtube videos, ADVERTISEMENT videos on the side of web pages even. I'm still trying to find a fix to this for the past 8 months. The only satisfaction I get is that videos inexplicably begin to work again after a day. If you do find a permanent fix I would love to hear it.

Won't let me do that either. Seems like what I'm pasting is to big, I'll have to divide it into different post

  • Advice on connecting external drive with all of my media

My old computer stopped working and I took out the drive that contained all of my photos and videos that I use with LR and I am now using the drive as a bare bones drive connected to a docking station to another Mac.
The Lightroom folder was on another drive of the broken computer, so I copied that entire folder to the desktop of the new Mac. Everything seemed to open on its own when I opened Lightroom on the new Mac.
I want to add LOTS of new photos to LR, and I just want to check to make sure that this workflow will not cause any problems before I begin.
    1. I plan to just copy new photos to the bare bones drive in the docking station and add keywords to them in LR, and when I'm done, eject the drive and place it into a protective case.
    2. The Lightroom folder containing the catalog is currently on my desktop, it was previously stored on the other Mac inside the Pictures folder. I might keep it on the desktop for now, though I might move it somewhere else later. Are there any issues with moving it around like this?
    Thanks.

  • Is there an app for video playback on external screen from ipad mini which avoids mirroring?

I want to play fullscreen video from ipad mini to external screens with a clean look and without without showing playback controls etc. I need to be able to play, pause, change the order of video tracks without affecting the external display as it's for playback of video backing tracks for a music show.
Does anybody know of any apps which do this? I'm looking at Portfolio for iPad at the moment which looks promising.

    No.

I've just bought a nokia 6555 (and hope I won't regret it!) and something seems weird: sometimes, without touching the phone, the external screen with the analogic watch turns on alone...
Do you know what could make that happen?
Just hope that there won't be any battery problem, like it seems to be for most people who owned a nokia 6555.... :s
     Thanks

So I went to an apple store today, and explained them my problem. We tried a new "mini-dvi to vga" adapter but still the external screen was green!! Also, when using my adapter that I supposed was broken on another PB the output singal was perfect! So as it turns out, it's my PB thats not working properly..
The guys at the store said it must be somthing with the motherboard.. I just don't think I can miss my PB for more than a few days!! :P

  • External screen arrangement has stopped 'sticking' after logout on one account.

I've been using an external screen with my 2006 MacBook 2.1 since forever, but recently the screen arrangement I've set up doesn't stick when I reboot or relogin. It reverts to a previous arrangement, and I have to redo the arrangement in System Preferences each time.
Is there a way round this short of a new user account?
    thanks

Reply much appreciated. Although I do not claim to have much knowledge of this type of hardware and software problems but they do give me a challenge. I have been trying various things. while I was doing this, switching the pc on and off, at one point the display on LCD came back.
When I checked the status in Device manager the error message,'WINDOWS HAS STOPPED THIS DEVICE AS WINDOWS HAS REPORTED PROBLEM (CODE 43) had disappeared and it said.' The device is working properly'!
I notice that the CPU temp rises upto about 51 deg C, the fan goes crazy (fast and slow)and the temp falls down and fluctuates between 27 and 48.
The screen goes blank again and come on some time and most times not!
To me it looks like that the chipset gives up when too hot.
I intend to open up the laptop and see if the GPU chip is seated, has good contact with its heatsink etc.
If anyone has any further suggestions, will be appreciated.
