Connecting Hana view to SAP Lumira

Hi ,
I created a view in Hana system and used the Connect to SAP HANA One source option in SAP Lumira for the Dataset.
On the next screen i am able to see all views under different packages from HANA, but i am not able to see the new view created by me.
My questions -
1) Do i need to have certain privileges in order to see the newly created view in the view list at lumira level?
2) Any Steps which i am missing in addition to creating an anayltic view, adding a data foundation to the view ?
Regards
Chaitanya Sharma

Hi Chaitanya,
Check if the Schema and the package containing the AN view you have created is assigned to your USERNAME under Object & Package privilege respectively.
And while connecting to HANA System in Lumira login with the USER which has these assigned objects. Check if this helps

  • Connecting Microsoft database with SAP Lumira

    Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to connect a Microsoft database (Contoso) with SAP Lumira SP15.
If so, what would be the steps?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
isn't Contoso actually a sample datasource of MS SQL Server,  rather than a product itself?
in which case, yes, you can use "free hand sql" via JDBC driver.
Another option: If you have BusinessObjects BI, you can can surface the datasource through a Universe (semantic layer) into Lumira.
there are Tutorials on this Lumira SCN space to help with all the above, if you search for 'tutorials'

  • SQL 2012 connection not showing in SAP Lumira after downloading and installing the driver

    Hello,
I am very new to SAP Lumira. I followed the steps in the videos to install the SQL 2012 JDBC drivers. I downloaded the drivers from Microsoft installed them in the %program files% folder as suggested by Microsoft.
I then followed the instructions for installing the drivers in SAP Lumira and the option to select SQL when Acquiring data is still grayed out.
    Any help is appreciated.
I am running SAP Lumira version 1.21.0 build 49. This is the desktop version running on Windows 8.1.
    Thanks again for any help.
    Nelson

    Hi
Which Edition of Lumira are you using?
SAP Lumira Desktop Personal Edition or  SAP Lumira Desktop Standard Edition ?
If I remember correctly I got this option turned on only when I converted my personal edition to a standard edition by applying a key. I could install sql server 2012 JDBC driver by pointing to the correct Jar file in the %program files% folder. This was then available for me to select when adding a Data set.  Regards AG

  • Best Approach for Reporting on SAP HANA Views

    Hi,
Kindly provide information w.r.t the best approach for the reporting on HANA views for the architecture displayed below:
We are on a lookout for information mainly around the following points:
There are two reporting options which are known to us and listed below namely:
Reporting on HANA views through SAP BW  (View > VirtualProvider > BEx > BI 4.1)
Reporting on HANA views in ECC using BI 4.1 tools
Which is the best option for reporting (please provide supportive reasons : as in advantages and limitations)?
In case a better approach exists, please let us know of the same.
Best approach for reporting option on a mixed scenario wherein data of BW and HANA views is to be utilized together.

    Hi Alston,
To be honest I did not understand the architecture that you have figured out in your message.
Do you have HANA instance as far as I understood and one ERP and BW is running on HANA. Or there might be 2 HANA instance and ERP and BW are running independently.
Anyway If you have HANA you have many options to present data by using analytic views. Also you have BW on HANA as EDW. So for both you can use BO and Lumira as well for presenting data.

    Hi All,
While I am connecting  SAP HANA cloud platform through SAP LUMIRA its throughing  an error "Check the server name and instance ID."
where I will get the server name and instance id.

    Hi,
You are trying to connect to the cloud system and not the HANA system underneath.
In order to do the same, you can follow the scn

  • SAP Lumira Connection to Protected App Server

    Hi All,
Report in lumira on top of a universe, requires connection to BI application server (CMS Name, User ID & Password).
But in our production server we have siteminder integration and business users are not allowed to connect to application server directly, in this case can we use URL instead of CMS name OR is it possible to connect to application server without port opening to use Lumira ?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ankit Sharma

    Hi,
according to the help guide http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/vi01/en/lum_117_user_en.pdf
section 5.9.1 Connecting to a universe datasource
-> Enter the name or IP address of the server hosting your Central Management Server (CMS).
I feel this would be a very strong topic for consideration and future inclusion. Please could you submit your enhancement to the Lumira Ideas Place?    (over here: SAP Lumira: Home )
I seem to remember someone asking for the ability to connect to an @Clustername  but can't find it alas..

  • Defining a recursive view in SAP HANA

    Hi All,
Currently SAP HANA does not support defining recursive views as already mentioned in Tals discussion as per the following link:
Defining a recursive view in SAP HANA
I would like to ask again if this limitation is still exist in latest SAP HANA version or not?
    Some background:
In our MDM product we can create a hierarchy tables which organizes information in a hierarchy where each record is related to a parent record and may also be related to sibling records and/or child records.
On other hands, MDM product generates database views that are saved as database queries representing MDM data. Currently HANA limitation prevents creating a database view on top of hierarchy database tables.
    Lars Breddemann
    Best regards,
    Ahmad

    Hi Ahmad,
just as I mentioned in BOM explosion there is a feature available in SAP HANA (column view type hierarchy aka hierarchy views) that is used (SAP-) internally.
AFAIK there are some ideas to make this available via SQL, but I don't know when or how this functionality will make it into the standard product.
Ruediger Karl the core HANA PM might be able to answer that.
Until then, you might be better off contacting SAP HANA development about possibly using hierarchy views for your development.

  • HANA views call in ABAP ECC 6.0 via secondary connection

    Dear Folks,
We have created views in HANA, same views we need to call it in  ABAP ECC 6.0(Netweaver 7.3)  i.e. via secondary database connection.
    So,
1.Is it possible to call HANA vies in ABAP ECC 6.0?
2.Is there any version limitations? or will work fine on ECC 6.0
    3. If yes can you give me sample code of abap to access hana as secondary database
Note : I have gone through Mr. Thomas Jung thread.
    Regards,
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
so, ADBC is available in your system, but you have to make sure that the correct DBSL library for HANA (HDB) is available in your system. You can then just check if you can correctly communicate with the report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION (using the secondary connection maintained in table DBCON) to your HANA database.
You may have a look at the example on how to select from an external view in report ADBC_QUERY (which selects from a DB table), by using a secondary DB connection to your HANA DB and using the HANA view instead of a DDIC table.
Of course in ADBC you have to take care about the correct type mapping (as you cannot use a DDIC type for definition of your internal table into which you select).
    Best,
    Jasmin
BTW: One word of precaution, the tasks you try to accomplish is rather cumbersome. We definitively recommend to use a more recent release (e.g. NetWeaver 7.4 SP5 or beyond), however, I think that's not your decision, right?

  • Creating Logic and modeling for SAP BW datasource in SAP HANA views and SLT

    Hi to all,
    I have small question.
We have BW system and SAP ECC as source system and to get data from SAP ECC source system we are using SAP ECC Standard data source.
Now we required to, create modeling in SAP HANA by use of HANA View and get data from SAP ECC source table via SLT.
So we can replicate same modeling,as we done in SAP BW system.
But  my question is that, as SAP ECC standard data source hit multiple table and do run-time calculation, before sending to SAP BI.
How we can derives such calculation and logic, in our HANA studio, because as we know in SLT data transformation can be done in limited way also
in view we can not drive such logic via SQL script ?.
Is there any way we can do such modeling and logic in SAP HANA ?
    or
is there any standard document for this type of case, which we can use ?
Note: We don't want to use SAP DS or DXC for data loading to HANA, as  we want it in more real time.
    Regards
    Pavneet Rana

    Thanks for reply,
As SLT is based on ABAP, so we can write complex logic in it.
But if we talk about SAP ECC standard data source, they have complex logic, based on multiple table.
So we need to write code from scratch in SLT to derive same result. but it will be huge time consuming , and required good ABAP skills, also it will lead to bug in code.
Also it will reduce the real time performance of SLT, due to complex logic.
Second option is procedure via SQL script, which is again huge effort in term if logic and can lead to error/bug in logic.
Does we have any other way or architecture to do this is very simple way, with high performance and less error issue.

    Pavneet Rana

  • HANA views connection to Tibco Spotfire

    Hello,
I am working with Tibco Spotfire version 6.5. I can consume tables in HANA system but I am unable to consume the HANA views. Can I connect to HANA views from the tool? If so, how do I? Thanks in advance!

    Hello Praseedha -
Thanks for the quick response. It is interesting to know that you cannot embed the data from HANA views into Spotfire memory. It is my understanding that you can leverage both the options -> In database connection & In memory for databases like HANA.
Were you able to obtain the description of fields from HANA views instead of just the technical names when you inserted a HANA view into a table in Spotfire?
    Looking forward to your response.
    Regards,
    Sudheer B.

  • SAP Lumira 1.17 Connectivity with ECC 6 giving error

    Hi Expert,
We're on SAP Lumira 1.17 and I'm getting attached error when I'm connecting with EC 6 via Query with SQL. I've attached the error log. Can you someone please look into this , how can I resolve this error to connect with ECC.
    I'm trying

    Hi Antoine,
    Thanks for response.
Are you able to connect to this ECC system using either:
    - a SAP tool like SAP logon
    Yes, I can.
    - a BI tool like information design tool (if you have access to it)
Yes, I can access. I can also connect UNX universe which is built on ECC with Webi as well. It's only in Lumira which is not working.
-Can you try from SAP Lumira changing the language used?
Yes, I tried to change different language (US and UK both) but not working.
-As the base error from your log file raised from ECC is
This error log is generated from Lumira only.
    Thanks,
    Pawan

    Hi All,
I created a report in SAP Lumira Personal edition, uploaded it to SAP Lumira Cloud free edition and now want to access it with the SAP BO Mobile on my Android device which I downloaded from Google PlayStore.
Logging into SAP BO Mobile I see 'Import from Server' option where I entered the lumira cloud address https://cloud.saplumira.com because this is where my report resides which I want to see in my hand held.I see some certificate errors and I have no idea how to go about this.
Any suggestion would be of great help.
    Reply Awaited.

So when I initially land on cloud.saplumira.com
I get a Site Security Certificate is not trusted.  Chrome on PC doesn't throw this, only on my Androids.
    Proceed Anyway
    Press Log On button
A window comes up saying No Certificates Found
Asking to install a certificate from PKCS#12 file with .pfx or .p12 extension..
if you hit Install...window pops up again..  and again.. Chrome is expecting there to be a local file to install.. which there is not.
    Hit Cancel
You get the Log On panel...  and it goes through.

  • SAP Lumira Add On for BI Platform - How to view Stories on iPad

    Hi,
A quick shout out to anyone who may know the answer to this.
I have tagged my SAP Lumira stories in the 'Mobile' category, but they are not showing on the iPad, have I missed something?
    Thanks
    Howard

I don't think Mobile BI support is there yet for BI add-on for platform- right now you would need to publish those to Lumira Cloud to see on SAP Mobile BI
Also be sure to download the latest Mobile BI on iTunes - there was a release this week

  • Publish Dataset and history in sap lumira server

    Hi Experts
I'm trying to publish a dataset and story from the sap Lumira desktop to Lumira  server.
    Tools used
SAP HANA DATABASE REV.80 INSTANCIA EN WINDOWS AZURE
    SAP LUMIRA DESTOP V1.18
    SAP LUMIRA SERVER V1.18
The process I followed is as follows:
    1. Create Users:
CONFIG: Assign the role sap.bi.admin :: BI_CONFIGURATOR. Some other role or privilege required?
TECNICO: Assign the role sap.bi.common :: BI_TECH_USER. Some other role or privilege required?
ANALISTA: Assign the role sap.bi.common :: BI_DATA_ANALYST. This user is the one that has the role to publish in Lumira sap server. Some other role or privilege required?
    2. Entry to http: // <HOSTNAME> 80 <INSTANCE> / sap / hana / xs / FormLogin /
I sign in with  the password created in hana studio  for each user and then make the change the password of each user CONFIG - TECNICO – ANALISTA
    3. Entry to http://<HOSTNAME>:80<INSTANCE>/sap/bi/launchpad/fiori
I sign in with the  user CONFIG and in the catalag administration of sap Lumira server income in the field Enter technical  user TECNICO, so I confirm the sql connection.
    4. Entry to http: // <HOSTNAME> 80 <INSTANCE> / sap / hana / xs / admin
I sign in with the user CONFIG sap.bi.launchpad.logic.v2 following path of the package and confirm that the sql connection is for the user TECNICO
    5. Entry to Sap lumira Desktop, sign in with the user ANALISTA to access the dataset, I create visualization and history, the last step is to publish the dataset and story in SAP Lumira server, for this I sign in with the user ANALISTA but when I clic on the button PUBLISH IN SAP LUMIRA SERVER is show me this error:
Error - The dataset could not be published to SAP Lumira Server because publishing to the SAP HANA layer failed.  Reason is ''. (HDB 11009)
I searched many blogs of sap and tested with the following options but None of the above helped me to solve the problem.
