Connecting Ibook to TV - Need Help
Hello. First of all let me thank all the kind people here on the forum. My computer died a few months ago, and the screen has basically died. Im looking to use my laptop through my tv. I have read the support sections of this site and am a tad confused. I have an Ibook G4 - 1.33 Ghz. I need to know what cable i should purchase in order to connect it to my tv. Thanks for your help.

You can buy a Ethernet to HDMI cable from any electronics store.
I have never heard of such a thing. A Google search turned up nothing.
Additionally, even if you have such a device how do you tell the iBook to send video out the Ethernet port?
Please verify which port this cable uses.

1. I tried connecting it to itunes for a system reset and it didnt work.
2. The phone wont even turn on!!!If the phone wont turn on it sounds like it needs to be charged. Plug it into a charger and wait about 15 minutes and try turning it on while still charging. Have you tried holding in your home button with the on/off button held in? Hold them both together until the apple logo comes up and then release them. The screen will blink off an on while it is resetting. I still think this is a battery issue. Good luck~

Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

i locked myself out of my ipod and i tryed unlocking it and then the "ipod is disabled" remark shoowed up. I knew what to do to restores it but in the last one minute of restoring a message popped up and said something about it cant finish it and the connectioned timed out. Ibook G4 airport extreme wont connect to WPA2 personal need help
ok so I just reformatted my brother I-book G4 and started with a clean slate, 10.3.9 OSX I am trying to connect the airport extreme that is in the computer to the linksys network I have set up. I have a Imac with an intel processor and a powerbook g4 titainium the Imac is using the internal wireless that it came with and the powerbook is using a linksys wireless card through the slot on the side.
I am using WPA2 personal on the network and both of these computers connect just fine through the password. the I book will not allow me to even bring up WPA2 personal as an option. it recognizes the network and I can click it but will not except the password because the only option is WEP of different types. how do I get around this and get it on the network?
I bought a external USB wireless card for it but it wont even recognize that either.
also the computer will not boot up with the airport card taken out of the computer which I found very odd. what is up with that?Copied from apple's support:

Connecting comp. to HDTV- need help w/ cables
I recently bought a Panasonic HDTV, an E3 series, and i want to hook it up to my macbook. My macs a little old, bought it in the spring of 08 so it's a macbook 4,1. I've already got the sound issue taken care of, and i was wondering what adapter i needed for an hdmi connection with the television? Any help would be awesome!

If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. -
URGENT!- ibook slowing down, NEED HELP BADLY

When I bought my ibook, i upgraded the RAM of this right away. i added a 512MB RAM. I was happy with the way it was performing. After a few months, i decided to buy an externat 40GB hard drive because i found the internal hard drive too small and love downloading song and shows over the internet. after a few months, i noticed that my ibook slowed down. before, the "beachball " would seldom appear. now it appears alot. i just noticed that my ibook has really slowed down. i admit, i download a lot. but all these downloads go straight to the external hard drive. the files that i save in the internal hard drive are only excel, word, and pwerpoint files. very small. anyone can help me? is there something that i can use to speed up my ibooks performance? what should i do? is there such a thing as defragment (just like the one of a pc).Hi Michaelgnm,

Try verifying and repairing permissions (Knowledge Base Document #106712 on Troubleshooting permissions issues in Mac OS X). Do you notice you slow during certain times. An example would be working an file from your external hard or using iPhoto. How much hard drive space do you have on your internal hard drive? You may want try deleting programs that you don't use (on my iBook I don't use Garage Band, iDVD, etc). Maybe freeing up some space can help speed things up.
A great program to show you exactly what is on your computer is WhatSize.
If you are going to use WhatSize to delete any files/programs/applications, please be careful and make sure you know exactly what you are deleting and if there are any repercussions. WhatSize will show you files that you would not normally see; they are referred to as "invisible files". These invisible files are hidden from the users view because they would clutter the desktop and they hold vital information that if corrupted or deleted may cause problems. Please make sure you know what you are doing!
Have you deleted files that you don't use; like for my iBook, GarageBand. I use GarageBand on my iMac because it is much easier and faster, so I deleted it on my iBook. Have you tried the "erase install method"? The reason for doing this is because Mac OS X installs all the necessary fonts, languages, drivers, etc that people all over the world my need, by default. This tends to take up some room that you might want to get rid of (make sure first what you don't need and need). You erase and install your system software (Knowledge Base Document 301270 About Install Options w/ Mac OS X 10.4), and when installing, do a custom install. This way you can install the languages, drivers, and applications you want. The same technique can be done with iLife.
Do you using any "pro" applications (Adobe Photo CS, Aperture, etc)? You may want to try using a program like OnyX to run some maintenance scripts.

I'm ready to purchase my ibook, but I need help deciding....
I already know that i want the 12", but my ? is how much memory and how much hard drive space should i get? with my ibook i plan on surfing the net, checking e-mails, maybe playing some games and later on i think that i might get a ipod and do the itunes w/ it (i'm not sure if i'm going to do that though). help me please!!!! i was originally going to get 1gb of memory and 80 hard disk space, but i spent some of my money. i want my ibook now b/c i have been waiting long enough, but then again what's another 2 weeks???

I just want to just let you know that the 12" iBook comes with adiquit memory and hard drive. But if you think it is nessesary to get an upgrade I think that the hard drive might be more important. That is pretty expensive. I would wait on the memory till you think you need it. I would wait and see what exactly you think you might be doing. I mean for games you maybe you should but if your not going to do much that takes up space I would hate for you to spend so much money on something that you might not even need. Just to let you know, I know in some cases that you might not even notice a big difference. Just something you should think about. I hope that helps with your decision. Good Luck!

Thanks,I am having the same issues--just got off phone with customer service rep--was told that my phone is in recoveyr mode and that I would have to restore it, however, the only things that would be restored would be from my last backup which was in November 2013! I was also told that apple users should not update as soon as the update is available (so why are they sending it to us if they're not sure that there will be any problems!!!). I can't restore now since I am in work--will do it when I go home tonight. In the meantime, I am without a working iphone for the day! This is horrible--I see I'm not the only one who has experienced this!

Connection to 2WIRE problem, need help soon before I have to format
I'll start off by providing a picture

Basically what happened was at first I wasn't able to connect to my Aunt's 2WIRE router, this was while I was using 10.4.9 (and after it stopped working I tried upgrading to 10.4.10 and nothing changed.) The reason why I couldn't connect was because nobody knew the password, but after calling SBC they disabled the password/WEP and disabled S SID broadcasst so that I could connect to it without any issues and without every neighbor being able to see the network.
This worked fine for about a week. Then one day it stopped working, and the only thing out of the ordinary is that the power in the house went out.
Here is the thing, I can still connect to a local Apple Network someone around me has set up. The only problem is 1) I cant stay connect for more than 10-20 mins and 2) Im stealing someone's internet basically.
I've called both SBC and Apple care. First I went to SBC, we did all the trouble shooting and they said it was a problem with my MacBook. I called Apple and they told me it was a problem with my router, but I forgot to tell them that another computer (a PC) is currently able to connect to the router, just not mine. But I called SBC again this morning and again they referred m e to apple care.... and I called Apple Care this morning but I was on hold for almost 45 mins and after 10 minutes of talking the call dropped so I just went to bed.
I think I might try calling them once more, but I'm more than likely going to format my computer. If anyone can give me any tips for I do so, please let me know.Hiya...
Just trying to help.. I dunno what sort of router your ISP is using... But doesn't your 2Wire router or modem have a software control panel? Which could be access via HTTP?
For most routers the IP address should be 192.168.0.1 or something similar. -

When you say, "when I access the generated URL from internet explorer I am getting the following error," do you mean, when you access the WSDL URL or the service end point URL? Since the response has a SOAP-ENV element, I'm going to assume you are hitting the SOAP service end point URL. You can't do that from a browser. SOAP requires you to post a properly formed XML document containing the method/service you want to invoke along with any method/service parameters. The document above tells you how to generate a WSDL document for a web service. You should be able to access that WSDL document from a URL. That WSDL document describes the format of the message expected by the SOAP service.
Did you get to step 2.c in the section "Create a BPEL Process" from the document above? If so, did you see the name of your CI in the drop down below the WSDL field? -
