Connecting iPad to desk jet 2540 printer

How can I connect my new hp desk jet 2540 printer to my iPad as the web page dose not work and there dose not seem to be any other way as an iPad dose not have a cd rom.

Hi,
If your router support WPS (Wireless Protected Setup), you may connect it to your network using this method, you may find the steps below:
Method one: Push buttonFollow these instructions to connect using the Push button method on your printer control panel.
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button ( ) for more than three seconds. The Wireless Status light starts blinking.
Press the WPS button on your router. The printer begins a timer for approximately two minutes while a wireless connection is established.
Method two: PINFollow these instructions to connect using the PIN method on your printer control panel.
On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button ( ) and the Start Copy Black button ( ) at the same time. The Network Configuration page prints.
Find the WPS PIN printed at the top of the page.
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button ( ) for more than three seconds. The Wireless Status light starts blinking.
Open the configuration utility or software for the wireless router or wireless access point, and then enter the WPS PIN.
NOTE: For more information about using the configuration utility, see the documentation provided with the router or wireless access point.
Wait about 2 minutes. If the printer connects successfully, the wireless light stops blinking but remains lit.
If your router does not support WPS, a computer is required for its network configuration. use any Windows PC or a Mac to connect it for the first time by following these steps:

    Hello @Lom111,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I understand you are not able to print from your iPad to your HP Deskjet 2540. Your printer is still on the wireless network, but when you attempt to print nothing happens.
I would like you to start troubleshooting here: Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs, once on the page please select the 'No AirPrint Printers Found' section.

  • I cannot detect my wireless hp desk jet 3520 printer, I cannot detect my wireless hp desk jet 3520 printer

I cannot detect my wireless HP desk jet 3520 printer from my iPad?

I can't find an Arris router with that model number, are you sure it is not a TG862?
Regardless, Arris routers are known to either be incompatible with Bonjour or have problems with Bonjour packets hence Airprint will not work. Check with Arris' website and see if there is a firmware update availble for your router for Bonjour/Airprint compatibility and install it or switch out your router.

  • Desk jet 2540

    Hi,
Our router broke so we changed it but we can't connect to the desk jet with Iphones Macbook or desktop Mac at all, they all worked before the router stopped working.
We tried turning everything off and rebooting but without success.
We then tried reinstalling but nothing finds the desk jet,we also ran a test on the desk jet and the report says it's not connected but can see our broadband network.
Can you please help I'm at a loss?

  • Scanning feature on desk jet 2540 does not work with drivers 990c

    Hello,
I reset my computer a few weeks ago ( acer with vista home edition)  . and after i did that my printer driver software stopped working, when i tried to reinstall it. so i have to install with the 990c printer drivers. It prints perfectly BUT the scanner is not recognized at all.
the original printer software is not installed on my computer because when its installed the drivers for 990c does not work. once i remove the original HP. Desk Jet Software and install the drivers it works perfectly.
Can someone please tell me of a work around to get the scanner portion to work properly

    Hi @Chayda ,
I see that you are having issues trying to scan with the Deskjet 990c drivers. When the full software for the printer is installed, the Deskjet 990c driver won't work. I will certainly do my best to help you.
The Deskjet 990c drivers are preinstall print drivers only. To be able to print and scan, you would have to install the Full Feature Software and Drivers for the Deskjet 2540.
Here is the URL to download, save and then ran the latest drivers.
HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer Drivers.
Select your operating system, click next and click on the software to download and install.
You should be able to have more then the one driver installed for the printer and still be able to print with either one.
To use an alternate print driver for HP printers in Windows Vista:
    1. Click on the Start menu.
    2. Click on Printers.
    3. Click on Add Printer.
    4. Select HP from the first list.
    5. Select Deskjet 990c from the second list or use the Deskjet 450 driver.
    6. Click Next.
    7. Click Finish.
    8. Click Apply.
    9. Click OK to close the window.
Then you should have the two drivers listed again in the Printers folder.
You can set the Deskjet 990c or the Deskjet 450 driver as the default printer for printing, when you want to scan select the Deskjet 2540.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor if you are still having issues using the alternative driver. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a wonderful day!

  • Hi I have an hp printer desk jet 2540 series

I have a hp printer wireless 2540 series and I want to no how I can print from my iPad while on the Internet, as it seems I can only front if my iPad is not connected to the Internet?

If you have a Wifi network, the printer has to be connected to the network instead of using Wireless Direct connection.
Check page 48 on the User Guide
Here's the link on how to make it work: Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs

  • Help! Can I set up desk jet 2540 on iPad

Hi can anyone tell me if I can set my deskjet all in one 2540 up on my iPad mini? I don't have a disc drive to put the setup cd into and the installation website it gives you in the box just comes up with an error, I think maybe because I can't set it up from my iPad?

    Hi Bellesy,
There are several ways of printing from your iPad. We just have to make sure that the printer and the iPad are connected to the same network.
Check this link: Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs

  • IPad connection to hp desk jet 2544

Can an iPad be connected to this printer? If yes, how?

    Hi,
    It supports AirPrint as shown:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03811750&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
That means you can use AirPrint on your iPad to print as long as they are BOTH on a same wireless network.
    (a) It can be your NORMAL home wireless network or
    (b) You can use direct print, please try the following setup:

  • I can't connect my HP office jet J4680 printer to my Macbook Air

My HP OfficeJet J4680 printer won't connect with my printer via USB. When I try to add it through system preferences it doesn't appear. It says I have no softwear to update so I'm not too sure what to do. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Here are a few ideas:
    1. Make sure the SSID is being broadcast.
    2. Make sure that DHCP is active.
    3. Do not use MAC filtering (it is not a good security measure, anyway).
    4. Change the router channel to 11.

  • HP Desk Jet 1010 Printer will not recognize 61 HP Ink Cartridges

    Error Message reads:
    Ink Cartridge Problem
At least one of the cartrideges has a problem. Click help for more information. (There is no help button.)
If ink cartridges have been installed, check that the plastic tape covering the ink nozzeles has been removed. (They're brand new cartridges and yes the tape was removed.)
To order a genuine HP replacement cartridge online, click buy now. (I don't want to buy a new cartridge. I just did.)
This was a combo-pack with black and tri-color from Walmart. It's exactly the same one that was purchased before and it worked fine.
Is one of them just a defective cartridge? Is there a way to check this? If they're not defective how do I make my computer recognize that I have cartridges installed?

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the cartridge error with your Deskjet 1010 printer.  See the section under "power light is blinking rapidly".  It is possible that reinstalling the cartridge or cleaning the cartridge contacts will resolve the issue.  If the steps there do not resolve the issue is is possible you have a defective cartridge.  If you still have the old cartridge you replaced I would suggest installing it in the printer just to verify the issue is with the cartridge and not the printer.  HP cartridges have a two year warranty  as described in the document here.  The cartridge is separate from the printer warranty.  You could call HP for a replacement (1-800-HPINVENt if you are in the US or Canada, elsewhere see the document here) or return the cartridges to Walmart for a replacement.
