Connecting iPads to TVs and projectors?

Hello.
Is it easy connect to Apple iPads (Mini mainly) to TVs (CRT to HD) and projectors like with computers (e.g., MacBook Pros (2008 [10.5.8] and 2012 [10.8.4] models))? Bascially, a portable player.
Thank you in advance.

Have you checked the manual?
Do you already have the projector? What make/model is it? Have you checked with the manufacturer to see if it is compatible with the iPad?
No, but it's not recent. It's somewhat old like maybe a decade old? There are no HDMI for sure. It's VGA, composite, S-Video, regular audio, etc.

  • Connecting iPad 2 to a projector

I recently purchased an iPad 2 to use in the classroom with a projector.  I am using the VGA adapter sold by apple with a standard VGA male to male cable to make a connection to a wall plate.  I am getting a signal but it drops out periodically and then it comes back.  It is not a consistent duration or frequency.  What I was wondering is is there a maximum distance using standard VGA that the iPad is able to push its signal.
I did check to see if the iPad were connected directly to the projector (which is not an option for normal operation) and it works fine.  When I connect a computer to the wall plate there is no signal interruption so it doesnt see to be a problem with the wiring in the wall.
    HELP

It is my understanding that the dgital adapter will give you full video mirroring over HDMI from the iPad 2, although there are some reported models of TVs and projectors that have issues, but that analog signaling, such as VGA, is limited to apps specifically written to provide access to that type of video connection.

  • Can I connect two 4k TVs and one additional monitor via DVI to my MacPro (late 2013)?

    Can I connect the following?
    - 4k TV via HDMI
    - 4k TV via Mini DisplayPort with an HDMI adapter
    - DVI monitor with 2560x1440 resolution

I saw this page before but I am not 100 % sure if I interprete the statements correctly. For example, it is stated that "Two HDMI (HD or 4K) devices" are supported. When reading only this, it seems that the configuration in my question is not supported. However, they also wrote:
"Mac Pro supports a total of two DVI or HDMI displays when connected via the built-in HDMI port or using the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter. To connect additional DVI displays, use an active DVI adapter such as the Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter. You can connect up to six active adapter DVI displays. This requires a powered USB hub since Mac Pro offers four USB ports and you will need six to connect them all."
Does this mean that I can also attach additional 4k HDMI TVs (and not just DVI displays)?

  • When I connect ipad to computer and go to itunes, it will not show my ipad on the left-hand side on itunes page.  message on winzip says i need pro level winzip program.

When I connect ipad to computer, itunes does not show ipad on left side of page.  winzip appears and says need pro version.  i have apple id, etc. and have dowmloaded music to ipad previously.  What do I need to do to get it to recognize ipad?

Did you set the iPad up on a Mac? I set mine up on windows and my Mac wouldn't read it so I started over. Just a thought though, not sure if that's your problem.

Connected ipad to computer with usb and downloaded 2 apps that aren't showing up on my ipad.  Says they are downloaded on itunes, but I don't see anything on my ipad. Tried downloading AGAIN and it says the same thing. Downloaded but don't see them on the ipad. I have synced it several times. Am I missing something?

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • How do connect iPad wireless to a projector for use in classroom?

I want to be able to utilize my iPad in the classroom as I would an airtablet.  Is there a way to do this?

Probably the simplest way, if you want to remain wireless (not be cabled to the projector) is to buy an AppleTV and use Airplay to mirror the iPad to the projector that way. AppleTVs have HDMI outputs, so if your projector has that connection, you just need an HDMI cable - otherwise, you will probably need an HDMI-VGA adaptor.

I have connected iPad3 running iOS  6.1.4 to a PC running Windows 7. I cannot see by using windows explorer any photos or videos on the iPad device.

If you imported the photos and videos using iTunes, then you cannot see them with Windows Explorer.

  • Connecting iPad 2 to Digital Projector

My son will be giving a presentation in his third grade class showing how to use ToonTastic. I need to know what cable I need to hook up our iPad 2 to the classroom ELMO digital projector. Any advice would be appreciated!

Without knowing what input the Elmo has, I can't be definite, but it would probably be one of these two:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC953
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC552
If the Elmo has only DVI input, you'd need an HDMI to DVI adapter to go with that first item (MC953).

  • How to connect the iPad to a VGA projector

I read the comments about using the iPad with a VGA projector for presentations, but those were for the original iPad. My association is asking me to present a live demonstration of the new iPad 2. I tested the iPad 2 with the digital connector to HDMI on my TV and that works great. I can move around all the screens on my iPad and even play Angry Birds.
But what about connecting this iPad 2 to a VGA projector? All the earlier comments referred to that process as "very limited" with only a few apps running on it, like Keynote. That won't do for my presentation. Is there a solution or does the new iPad 2 fully support a standard (read old) VGA projector?
    Thank you for your replies.

Try and force the iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Connecting iPad to a projector

    Hi
How can I connect my iPad to a VGA projector to play my presentation?
    Thank you

    Hey guys,
If you need to show a web page during your presentations you should give Expedition-The VGA out browser for iPad a try. It lets you show a web browser on the projector screen and can even play HTML5 video on a page on the projector. Also has a laser pointer feature just like keynote.
Here's a video of it in action:

  • Connecting New iPad (3) to vga projector

    Hi everyone
Has anyone tried connecting a New iPad (3) to a projector using the vga adaptor?
From what i've read, most projectors have a resolution of around 1028 x 768.
What happens if you connect the New iPad, with it's 2048 x 1536 resolution, to a vga projector with a lower resolution? (using the Apple vga connector).
I would like to show keynote app presentations on a vga projector, but i'm worried that if I use the New iPad (3) that some of the image will be missing?
    Help?
    Thanks

Does anyone know why the display on the LCD projector is not 1028x768. I have 2 black bands on each side. This is output from iPad3 using the VGA adaptor. It was working fine a day earlier, with 1028.x768. I used another application called Web Presenter and that works fine, with the option to choose external display setting.

  • HT201335 Can I connect an Ipad wirelessly to a projector?

Can I connect an Ipad wirelessly to a projector?

Epson has a bit of software called EasyMP for PC's or Macs - this can be used wired USB / VGA / HDMI - or used wirelessly from either device without too much trouble.
If you give the Projector an IP Address in its own "Settings" Menu and then connect wirelessly using Epson's iProjection App for the iPad it should work.
