Connecting iPhone 5 to iTunes after new setup
I replaced an iPhone 4 with an iPhone 5. I did an iTunes backup of the iphone 4 before purchase. I bought the new phone and decided not to use restore from backup, but instead to reinstall applications, files, and media incrementally from iCloud.
I have some non-iCloud media in iTunes 11 on my MacBook Pro that I would like to put onto the iPhone (some MP3 podcasts and some movies), but when I connected to iTunes directly via a Lightning connector to the MBP, iTunes prompted me either to restore from backup or set up as new iPhone. I don't want to do either: I just want to add some media that's on the MBP.
Is there any way to get the iPhone to talk to iTunes without doing a Set up as new iPhone?

Do you want to transfer music via the iTunes sync process, or manually manage music and video?
If the former, is sync music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences?
If the latter, do you have manually manage music and video selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences?
Have you authorized your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes? -

My iPhone 5 won't let me use my apps until I connect them with iTunes after downloading ios7. There's just a thing that pops up and says that in order to activate banners and push notifications I have to connect the app with iTunes. The thing won't go away no matter how many times I push ok, and it doesn't give me another option. Solutions?
Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

IPhone stuck in recovery mode. screen stuck at "connect iPhone to iTunes"
my phone has been stuck in recovery mode for two days and will not restore. when i disconnect my phone from the laptop, the screen stays on the picture of the iTunes logo and the USB cable saying to connect iPhone to iTunes. And again, when i connect the iPhone to iTunes, the restore fails. if anyone knows how to make my screen go back to normal or successfullt restore my phone, it would be greatly appreciated.
i have same problem as your with my iphone 4S after update new firmware from itunes. iphone restart then stuck on recovery mode . i have try 3 different comp. read all the thread on apple, nothing gonna fix that . oh also change 2 usb cable, just dont know what else i can do.

I have an iphone 5. I have no idea of the ios version in it. Recently i broke my iphone screen and its showing up nothing. it was never synced to itunes or to any pc. When i tried to connect iphone to itunes in my pc it was asking for passcode which i had forgotten ages ago. Suggest me the possible ways to recover my iphone.
Since the screen doesn't work, it will be challenging to get it working, even thru iTunes. You will need to ask yourself if you want to invest more money in it or get a new one, especially since the contents will be lost since you don't know the passcode. Apple will gladly replace the screen for a cost that represents a significant portion of the price of a new. Once the screen is done, you may or may not be eligible for the free iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program.
Or, if you decide to salvage it and are strong of heart and firm of hand, you can replace the screen yourself for less. See here and note they carry kits with all needed tools and parts. -

Problem got solved, please find the below mentioned steps to resolve.
Steps to Resolve:
1. launch the iTunes app.
2. Connnect iPhone to the Mac.
3. Click on View menu from header file then select "Show Sidebar".
4. Right click on Device on left side pane then select "Transfer perchased"menu.
After the File copying from iPhone to iTunes.

ALL apps deleted from iPhone and iTunes after newest iTunes download
ALL of my boyfriend's apps were deleted from his iPhone 3G AND iTunes after he downloaded the newest version of iTunes onto his PC. Does anyone know why this happened? Can he get all of those apps back somehow?
Thanks!The only way all iTunes content on his iPhone can be removed is if he synced his iPhone with iTunes after the current iTunes version was installed and his iTunes library on his computer is now empty. A warning message should have been provided indicating this would happen if he proceeded with the sync.

You will only loose everything if you choose to sync. If you don't then no. But then you won;t be able to do much while connected, as any transfer of data (music, movies, etc..) will require a sync. -

O god...so i am not the only one who is facing this problem. I dont know what they had done with the 2.0 or latest version.
